I thought this was a decent place to stay. A little on the expensive side for what it was and maybe a little outdated but I would recommend.

Nothing. Terrible staff. Unclean. They checked me out 1 day early and someone from the hotel absconded with my $58 in groceries. The didn’t care!!! They put all of my personal items in a large trash bag. I hope that the person that stole my groceries really needed them.

I booked based on good reviews and inviting photos but when I arrived I felt misled. The staff is friendly and helpful but the facilities are in a bad area and the hotel is dark, uninviting and unclean. Also, the room door doesn’t even have the basic extra security features that most hotel rooms do. I was originally scheduled for 5 nights but after checking in - I immediately booked at a different hotel for the remainder of my trip. Be aware.

Had a great stay but was disappointed with having to 20 dollars just to go into the bar for a nightcap. I know its a popular spot for locals but travelers looking to wind down for an hour should not have to pay this or at least get a voucher.

Big truck stop with a hotel, deli, restaurant, and country bar. There are also shops, a barber shop, laundry facilities and po boxes. Definite travelers stopping point...wild stuff.

The rooms and property are well maintained. The hotel is dated in some ways but quite comfortable. You can't beat the convenience of the obsite store, laundromat, mail center, and bar with entertainment. Th cooked to order breakfast had large portions with plenty of options. Sarah in the lounge was so kind and attentive. Great experience.

all in all it is a good place to stay. I would stay again. The breakfast was very good. I probably ordered the wrong item for dinner. There was plenty of food.

Hotel was really wonderful. It had absolutely everything we needed plus some. Having the gas station and store right on the property was extremely convenient. Breakfast was wonderful. We even got a voucher to use for the Cinema. Rooms were very clean and comfy. Staff were very welcoming. It is about 15 minutes from the airport so convenient location even though it’s in an industrial area. Lots of food option nearby.

Very unwilling to accommodate a one day travel change without booking a new reservation. Will never book this hotel again.

Shuttle to/from pdx is not 24 hours. They offered to get me an Uber if I returned my rental car the night before flying out, but told me they do not have any shuttles available before 6 AM and said I would need to find my own transport (would not have picked location if I knew it was unavailable or partially available). Other than that, hotel was great.

This property has everything. Check in and the room was very nice. Go downstairs and to one hallway they have a laundromat two places to get sandwiches or pizza, a market, a theater, a barber shop and at the end of the hallway to restaurants. All under One roof. Place was nice people were down to earth it was in an industrial area but if you're a regular guy this place is great. If I have to stay in Portland again this will be an option I look at first not last.

The Portlander was unknown to me before this trip, and I was pleasantly surprised. The premises were nicely maintained, and there were multiple amenities available (store, restaurant, movie theatre, deli, etc.). The included breakfast was quite ample as well as delicious (you get a voucher for a limited menu in their restaurant). It is a truck stop, but that just adds to the interesting ambiance. The room was quite adequate and was very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend the Portlander for other travelers.

It was like being in your own little town. We didn’t realize it was a “truck stop” so that was kinda different but all the amenities were great! That it was a truck stop. Usually I’d be fine letting my kids go “tour” the hotel with their friends but I didn’t feel comfortable with that here.

It was great having so many choices for breakfast! And the portions at Ponderosa were huge! Not to me the staff being so friendly that early in the morning.

~16 minute drive to PDX so that was nice. Complimentary breakfast was yummy. Easy parking. Location was prime due to a gas station being located in the parking lot. Big, cleanly rooms.

Theres lots of convenient places downstairs like a laundry mat, a deli, a small movie theater, a restaurant where you get your made to order breakfasts, even a little store with gas station. Theres a few more small shops that i didnt visit, but saw when i was walking. The staff was very friendly.

It was the best experience I've had since being over the road. A bit pricey but it was worth every penny. Everything in one place a ride on the elevator and awalk down the corridor. Movie, massage, restaurant, club bar, laundry. It's a truckers vacation while working.

The hotel building itself wasn’t bad but the property and surrounding area was scary. Homeless people everywhere. I was traveling with just my daughter and I and decided it wasn’t safe for us to stay there. We didn’t even check in so I can’t say what the interior of this location is like. When we pulled in the first thing I saw was a large homeless population and security guards wondering the property during the day which can give you an idea of what the crime rate in the area is. I read other reviews and knew it was located at a truck stop but didn’t realize the gas station was right out the front doors of hotel and that there was a laundry mat attached to the hotel with an adjoining wall that was a large attraction to overwhelming homeless population in the area. If you are traveling alone or with your family I highly recommend you do not stay here and avoid this area all together.

The beds were comfy. The breakfast options were great! Having the 24 hour market available after a late flight arrival was so convenient. It's odd that there are no exhaust fans in the bathroom, but luckily the windows in this hotel DO open for a lovely breeze. And, my dogs were welcome without being overpriced or size restrictions. We will definitely be using this as our go to PDX hotel moving forward 🙌

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel has a restaurant, theater, convenience store, and bar all in the same building, which was very convenient when I didn’t want to drive. Everything was clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

We had no idea when the reservation was booked that this was a truck stop! We didn’t eat the free breakfast provided nor any meals, but we did visit the restaurant and it, like the entire facility, looked very clean. Plenty of parking was available. We returned late at night and found parking. Our room/bathroom was clean and when we returned late at night we found that our beds had been made and the trash was emptied. We would and will stay here again upon our return to Portland for next year’s conference.

This was a rare miss. I've had 5 great stays, but this one was pretty bad. It all came down to the bathroom. Either there wasn't a fan, or the fan wasn't working. That was just an annoyance. The bad part was the shower. There was a tub and NO handles! I am disabled, and required assistance to enter and exit the shower. I almost needed help IN the shower. It's standard nowadays to have that sort of thing come standard, so I never had to ask before. It's pretty embarrassing to have to request that sort of thing at check-in. But I guess if it prevents me from slipping and breaking my neck, I'll have to start. Ick.

The staff at The Portlandia were very friendly and helpful. One thing in particular stood out to me: The hotel called me after I had checked out to let me know I had left a couple of items in the room. I was about 1/2 hour away so I told them it was okay. I could live without those items, BUT what hotel calls to let you know you left items behind in the room. I travel a lot and all the hotels I’ve stayed in NEVER call to let me know I had left something in the room. I always had to call them and ask and they always get rid of items after a week leap. So HUGE CUDOS to the staff here for calling me.

The place has a lot of amenities. But the room door squeaked and while the free breakfast was cooked to order not a buffet, the free choices were skimpy.

Didn't need to use the shuttle, but getting in and out was easy. It has everything you need in a hurry. The complimentary breakfast at Cascade was well worth it.

I've stayed here for months for work and it's the best hotel you can get for the price. The beds are super comfortable, generous selection of TV and movie channels, and you don't even have to leave the building to buy beer & wine. The bar & grill that's attached to the hotel, the Ponderosa has some really good food, cheap happy hour deals and entertainment every night so you really never have to leave the hotel after working a 12 hour day. Also, the Cascade Grill has the best free breakfast you've ever had in a hotel. H¹

Clean, nice staff, a nice place to stay if you are a trucker. It is, I was told, either the biggest or one of the biggest truck stops in the country. Trucks and truck stuff everywhere. Nothing to see if you go outside but trucks parked or flying by. It is not in a good area so that’s a bummer. Like no where to walk around that feels safe other then on the property. I see it as a great place for truckers who need a stop. It’s got everything for that. I stayed for a business trip and I was basically stuck there till I flew out. Overall, if your looking for an inexpensive, clean place to sleep, it works.

I am super picky about hotels and have never stayed at the Portlander Inn before. Hotel staff was very helpful. The rooms were super clean and comfortable! The only dirty thing we saw in our 3 rooms, was the vent covers in the bathrooms! I can deal with that for one night! We arrived later than expected and had an early flight out of PDX, so we did not get to enjoy the Marketplace experience or restaurants. The hallway was super quiet as well. I would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Upon arrival was no greet, checked in and the receptionist seemed to be unhappy. Went to the room (very nice) only negative was one of the coffee cups were used and dirty. Aside from that it has a restaurant, store, cinema, barbershop and more. I enjoy coming here.

It was very loud, everything from the couple across the hallway enjoying some "time together", to fights in the middle of the night, traffic noise and very old air conditioners, you really can't get a good nights sleep here.

Big, comfortable, spotless room with good bed, fridge, microwave, nice bathroom. When you add the included cooked to order breakfast this is a fantastic deal. Although the area is nothing to write home about, it’s not a bad location from which to go to various places in the area.

Marilyn and Korie, servers in the Cascade Grill were fantastic. They made our experience at the hotel so much fun. I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed at a property before where I would go back specifically because the servers at the restaurant were so fabulous. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Breakfast were not good. Biscuits and gravy we had to send back, hashbrowns were cold, but the Service and the sourdough toast was wonderful. The breakfast sandwich to go was so old it was not eatable.

Great stop after getting in late to the airport and the free pickup to and from the airport was the main reason we picked this hotel. The breakfast was amazing and free! Made to order and delicious! This is are new go to when traveling to Portland. Cool hotel in an industrial area so not alot of noise or traffic. Plus they shops and a movive theater in house!

We couldn't sleep all night thinking about our grandsons bicycle in the bed of our truck.

The breakfast was way bigger than expected and it was really tasty. Staff at the hotel was nice and helpful. We haven’t done any sightseeing of the city but can highly recommend if you need a place to stay while traveling through Portland.

This is in a truck stop. None of the reviews mentioned that. It is a 20 minute drive to the airport. Not what we were expecting. Would not return. Very noisy with all the traffic outside our window.

Well laid out property with plenty of amenities for making a trip easy and enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast… wow a sit down restaurant with as they phrase it, “trucker sized meals”. Pleasant attentive staff and access to a convenience store, restaurant, barber, laundromat, cinema, and club/bar gave the feeling of a welcoming little village.

Very good value. Located in an area many trucking terminals, but the room was very nice with several restaurants and a convenient store on premises. I would stay again.

I guess the place was fine, room was clean so that’s the main thing I look for. Weird place though for sure, hotel/truck stop combo. Definitely overpriced at around $170/night, but close to our concert venue so it made sense.

This Inn is connected to a convenience store, cinema, bagel shop, bar & grill, & a pretty popular lounge! We were super impressed with the amenities & our stay. We’d definitely stay again.

Staff was very kind. Room was clean. Only complaint was i was there for 3 days with a child, and was given a room with a shower and no tub. That was an inconvenience.

Rich variety of stores and restaurants on premise

It’s basically a really fancy truck stop but has everything you need without having to get in your car, but still close to Portland.

Breakfast was served à la carte instead of buffet as usual.

Out of the way location a drawback, however.

Good central location, it's nice to have all the available options in the store. We were too tired to get up for breakfast, so didn't get a chance to test that out and the theater wasn't showing a movie that interested us, but the beds were comfortable, the water nice and hot, tv had lots of channels and the showers are easy to get into. Friendly service. Perfect for a quick stop on the way home after a long road trip.

The property was convenient and strategically located for transportation to sights outside of Portland.

This place has so much to offer. We stayed here 2 night excellent breakfast. There’s a laundry mat, a convenience store, a deli, a cinema, a country dance hall with free line dance lessons, a grill, a mini post office, a barbershop and a massage place ALL IN ONE!! The rooms were quiet and the bathrooms were the cleanest things I’ve ever seen from any hotel. Def recommend this place and we will be back for sure.

The Portlander is setup for truckers. Everything has been clean and efficient with all types of extra services. Sort of like a resort for people in transit.

Located in a sort of odd, industrial area, the defining characteristic of this unique hotel is the friendliness and demeanor of the front desk staff. Parking is easy and free, although I can see how the lot might fill up if the hotel is full. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but lacking a safe. The water in the shower was slow to warm but the water pressure was good. On the surface everything was clean but a closer look revealed dust behind the bathroom vanity. All in all, a quiet stay. The Jubitz story (on a display outside the large, open restaurant) and how the hotel and adjacent businesses grew from a single business is an interesting read. This was a great location for us as we went to an event about 10 minutes away. It’s also just over the border from WA so we avoided any downtown or Pearl District traffic - but were close by if we wanted to explore.

Pleasantly surprised! Stayed here to get an early flight to the airport. Would stay here again.

I am a frequent guest and the rooms are in need of refurbishing.

2nd time staying at this hotel and is a great location. The live music at the bar is always good.

Its a very convenient place to stay. You can access all shops from inside the hotel and the store is open 24hrs. Would stay again. Went to event at Expo center 3 min drive and went downtown at night and the drive is not far for that either, 10 to 15 min.Plenty of parking, even with security patrolling the parking lot. Mini fridge and Microwave.

We LOVE this place. They have everything you need. The staff was very helpful and the manager went above and beyond.

We were very happy with our room. It was beautiful, very clean and looked to be newly remodeled. The motel is pet friendly (we have 2 dogs) and have a very reasonable pet charge. The grounds are mostly paved with lots of traffic as there is a gas station and truck stop on the same lot but there were a couple of small grass areas for dogs to use which I thought was a very nice touch. They have a restaurant, mini mart and a lounge connected to the motel which was very convenient. We also saw a laundromat and a dog bath station. Breakfast was provided and they have a nice selection to choose from. We were very pleased with our stay.

I really like how they have a quiet dinner option and then they had a bar with line dancing.

The hotel itself was wonderful. The Ponderosa Bar was exceptional except for 1 server that didnt like like to be tipped apparently 🤔. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of all the crack heads that they kept having to shoo out. The location wasn't great but overall a great place.

Best Hotel ever!

Location and convenience was great but unfortunately the elevator broke and had to climb 3 flights of stairs at the end of our time there.

The hotel was so clean. We used a black light to check and it was spotless. We enjoyed the convenience of the stores right there. The food was also great! And we like the free parking and convenience of getting our car when we needed it.

So helpful to have uber service to and from airport. Very nice staff and restaurant. Comfortable Bed.

The room was great, the staff was great. The hotel was not close to anything. It took forever to get anywhere due to traffic. It’s a great hotel for a trucker taking a break from the road, but that’s about it.

OMG! What an AMAZING place! Too many things to list as to why you should stay here! We stopped for 1 night and stayed another just because it was such a great place! And we are coming back in a few days. LOVE this place

We enjoyed our stay at the Portlander inn, although we think the property could use some updates such as adding a vent in the room bathrooms, and also offering a face wash as one of the complimentary items in the bathroom.We loved the connivence of the two onsite restaurants and the gas pumps that were outside the property to easily gas up the rental car before returning it to the airport.

Room was clean and spacious. The staff was amazing…especially Sarah.

We did like all the things that are attatched to the hotel but our room was a bit dirty and the bathroom really adgetated my husbands allergies.

One thing that I asked to change was my room that was on the south side facing the street and gas station. It was very loud and bright that made it hard to sleep. I asked to change, but the hotel was full so the people couldn't make the change. If you stay, ask to get a room on the north side as it is much quieter. I appreciate the free breakfast, especially since it is made to order. The selection is very limited and I wish they had more choices and even smaller portions for when you don't want to eat two pancakes that are as large as your plate.

Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Older hotel, but very well managed and kept current. Parking easy and convenient. Breakfast great and as advertised.

The staff are exceptional, the shuttle bus is really convenient, and the facilities offer so many convenient amenities. The free breakfast is from a real restaurant and it’s nothing fancy but it’s delicious. I always stay here for the IndyCar races and it rules.

We weren’t too sure about the location or area. However, upon entering the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel had been updated in a modern, tasteful way, and was clean. Our room was beautiful and spacious. We were glad we chose the Portlander Hotel!

The beds were comfortable and it was a good one night stay. Everything was clean. Was concerned about the parking and the area. Yet, still a good stay.

There were so many different utilities that were available especially for being THAT cheap. I could have paid $300 for one night and still have been happy. Great stay.

The location is quite...how should I put it... "adventurous"?? Just not what I expected..
