Super 8 by Wyndham Rockford I-90/Casino District

I’m not sure who is reviewing this place but I have never felt more unsafe at a hotel. Room was gross smelled door wouldn’t shut properly. Lots of shady things happening. We left and found another hotel. People loitering in parking lot, people yelling out windows. Huge gathering down the hall from us with loud drunk people. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Near the bypass and plenty of food options. They seemed like they were remodeling. So this may not be as accurate anymore. But went out to have a smoke cause it’s a no smoking hotel that’s fine. Outside though was an old door just tossed out back next to one of the exits and other trash. Not just papers around the parking lot but full kitchen sized bags tossed out around the dumpsters. Animals got into them. The inside though was clean and nice like I said it was being redone cause there was still some evidence of it going on through the halls and the front desk area. The room was clean the beds were comfy. One thing though is the next morning we saw a roach in the bathroom. We took showers the night before and stayed in and watched tv didn’t see anything all night. Just the one in the morning. Otherwise it was a nice stay. Definitely worth the price if your traveling and need a stop off the highway.

The cleanliness! Nicely redone rooms The location kinda sucks cuz of the highway being RIGHT there but for 1 night it wasn’t bad.

Adequate for a night of sleep on the road. There was an issue with the door locking but staff fixed it immediately. Breakfast nothing special but available.

I typical do not do reviews on hotels, but this one definitely needs to be spoken of. Me and some buddies were staying just for the night, quite honestly we barely stayed in the room. But even the little we did was awful. From stained floors, stained bedding, stained curtains, stained lamp shades, crooked/broken lamp shades, the TV had about a 1/4" of dust all on the back, the TV was barely hanging on the wall, when turned on the TV was very blurry, the wall plates for outlets were either missing or pulled off the wall, the door seal was broken and loose making opening/closing the door difficult, there was a big black mold spot on the ceiling in the bathroom. Checking in was easy, but the employee barely said 3 words or made any eye contact, didn't really acknowledge me being at the counter. Cheap is cheap for a reason, but doesn't mean it has to be that bad!

Breakfast

The breakfast was great, definitely would like to see some eggs,bacon or some type of protein added....and bagels :)

The hotel was dirty, it smelled of cigarettes & urine in the halls.The room (even though nonsmoking) smelled like an ashtray.We sprayed Lysol, febreeze, etc and it still didn’t help the smell.The ceilings & walls had visible water damage.I can go on & on.

First night we walk in there is police in the building trying to remove a man, as we walk in our room my daughter

Our room wasnt clean, there were cigarette holes in the bedding and the curtains were torn.

I actually paid for the room, and left after seeing it and was willing to lose my money to do so. It is very dirty, the parking lot looked very unsafe.

Location is good Bedding pillows cases smell, not trust if bedding were clean, slept with clothes on.

I have stayed here many of times andn had no peoblem, but this time was horrible

I didn’t stay the night I left and I am in a different hotel now. the room was so dirty. Pillow cases were all dirty and had black hair on them. The sheets had hair on them and were also dirty. Very gross. The floors were dirty in the room, bathroom, hallways, everything was filthy. I have never left a hotel before. I think a health inspector should be sent there. Filthy.

Paul & other Paul are awesome at running this clean, & friendly hotel with the best waffle batter.

You get what you pay for I think the room is was in was being renovated but I was put in it just to make a quick buck.

My license was not returned to me. The staff were very defensive. Then could look at the video but made no effort to locate my license.

Walls were thin

The folks at front desk are really nice. I know the hotel can't help certain things, but, I don't know how to say this without seeming like I don't understand certain things in our todays society. But we no longer will be staying at this property because we don't feel safe.

Was dirty served our rooms we never got clean towels. They never took out our trash and they were strange people hanging around in a hotel. It was horrible.

I actually checked out as soon as I checked in. Hotel had trash and construction debris outside the entrances. The hallway and rooms smelled musty blended with chemicals. As a solo female traveller I was uncomfortable so I requested a refund and checked out.

It smells sooo good very clean,and the ppl are so polite and nice and very friendly. Bed squeaks

We were traveling and it was very late when we checked in, maybe 11/11:30 pm. When we got to our room it smelled of cat pee. We asked to be switched to another room and were told there wasn't any open room. Yet, I could go book one online. No apology,

The room smelled like cigarettes, the room door was tilted so it wouldn't close right unless you lifted it to close. The door handle was extremely loose. There was nothing, no screws or anything, holding the closing mechanism in place, itwas lose.

Terrible

When first arrived. The toilet in the bathroom was loose and the room that they assigned us. So then I had to go back down to the front desk and to request a new room so that we will have a working toilet. I also talked with the front desk manager about possibly only staying one day. She said that'll be fine. I would just need to check out in the morning and then they would refund me my money for the second day. It has been 2 weeks almost and I'm still trying to get my refund. The staff at the desk has been very rude and strangely every time I call the manager is not there.

Door didn't lock properly

The moldy bathroom was gross, the hallways smelled like an ashtray. We were exhausted so we slept fine but eeew

Better breakfast options. Regular House Keeping would be nice.

Very bad experience. Sink and counter were very dirty and not cleaned and there were bugs. No tv remote, no ice bucket, no waste basket, shower curtain is about to fall off wall, walls are very dirty. One lamp is leaning over and about to fall. The lamps beside bed one is missing its lamp shade and the other is all broke up. Micro wave blows circuit when you try to use it. There is more but i think you have the idea.

Everything

Had a nice quiet stay. The room was clean and larger than i thought. It was a very comfortable stay and would stay again.

Bathtub know was broken. They text me at 8 am asking me when I was going to checkout. Check out time is 11, and the text woke me up for no reason. Also breakfast had only coffee to drink and really very few choices for breakfast.

Took so smelly we had to leave

Breakfast had a limited selection but it was ok. Location was good. There was raunchy stench of weed in the hallway. My room also had a bad smell. Thankfully Ibwas able to open the window. The bathtub was dirty and one of the beds appeared to have been slept in. Sheets did not look clean and fresh. It was poorly maintained. Chipped paint. Holes in the lampshade.

Where to even start. I was greeted by a nice young lady the gentleman stalked the computer while she was running my stuff very weird to me. But then it got worse! Now mind you I was there with my husband 13 11 and 5 year old children who had to walk through a hall way that smelled like pot non stop I was worried about contact buzz. Then we had left to go to Walmart for pillows since the pillows sucked and came back to a drug deal through a window downstairs happening more pot smell so strong I wanted to puke. Another occupant there was clearly a junky who stated she had been there a year. That was just Friday night. Saturday night prostitutes were coming in all hours of the night loud honking yelling to upstairs windows and more.it was horrible and I was pissed my children wete around this. My son played baseball all weekend thank god we didn't have to be there more then to sleep really which we didn't even get to do well either. The police should have been called but they were already arresting someone in the parking lot next to us. To say I was unhappy is a understatement and we were all scared to even sleep I WILL not be staying there ever again

Pillows are flat and tv didn’t work. And heat went out!!!

As soon as you walk in, the odor is overwhelming. All throughout the hotel. The heating doesn’t work properly as we weren’t able to keep the fan on consistently. There was no back to the remote so the batteries kept coming out. The beds are not queen size like we paid for. The tv cut off half the screen and we couldn’t adjust it in settings. There are barely any channels to choose from. It was uncomfortable and definitely not what the pictures online made it look like.

The room was recently smoked in. Window was open, with no screen. There was a cigarette butt next to the nightstand. Desk chair was dirty and had ashes all over it. Debating when it was last cleaned? Property is worse for the wear. Asked for extra towels. Was given two brand new towels with the tags still on (bought from kohls), but they were unwashed. Pillows were odd, and SMALL, one queen bed only had one pillow. Strange all around.

stay again.

Old bars of soap all over the shower, room was not vacuumed, dirt and burn holes on the bedding and ac unit had terrible smell. Fridge wasnt working and had a horrible smell. Beds are hard as heck. The rooms are definitely not well sound proofed at all. You can hear everything in the hallway and upstairs. Then the morning of check out they called the room at exactly 10 to see when we were leaving and when we didnt answer they came knocking. Working for another hotel this seems very unprofessional and like a dirty place to me. I would never recommend staying here.

Room was clean, check in was easy. Staff seemed friendly. Bed and pillows... lots of room for improvement, matress was like a board , pillows well they need help . A/C needs help you would sweat til it kicked on then you would freeze. You get what you pay for, ee just needed a place to sleep and shower so was ok.

I personally would not come back. It was not a good experiece

This is a good place to stay for a night.

All rooms are suppose to be non smoking yet at check in the whole lobby and up the steps to our room was strong odor of marijuana. Room was not cleaned took pictures and video of the light switch filthy to bathroom having last person hair in tub and rings of soap on ledge and missing electric cover in the bed area. If the room is going to be available for reservations then it needs to be cleaned as Covid is real and this rooms filth and the hotel it self shows lack of care and more so that the hotel management has not taken heed of the basic CDC guidelines. Then as we had left have my bank account be debt twice for one night. If there were other hotel available we would have changed hotels. Due to the Hard Rock Casino grand opening all hotels were full or the price for a room was way out of our budget $160 for a night. Watched 2 drug deals happen in the parking lot. People in and out all night loud and slamming doors not to mention the cars in parking lot engines being revved up at 2am.

This was a great quick stay for us, very convenient on a long road trip. Comfortable beds, spotless room. Breakfast was a bit self-serve - there wasn't any staff helping for the first hour or two. Once they discovered several parties in the breakfast room they were very helpful. Everyone was friendly and nice also! Definitely recommend.

Hair dryer didn't work in one room

The room was quite basic,but it was clean and comfortable. Had 2 king size beds which was nice. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Very clean

Hotel was clean. Beds were hard. Pillows were useless. Gave no support and flattened as soon as you laid on them. Hallways smelled. Old smoke (of many varieties) & too many air fresheners plugged in. Staff was polite and helpful. Did have to go ask for toilet paper as there were no extra rolls in the bathroom. Definitely a somewhat sketchy area/hotel. Lots of vehicles in & out that weren't hotel guests, if you know what I mean...

Room had things left in it from previous guests. Staff was not helpful.

Nice location.

Overall it was a nice stay. Room was clean and it was pretty quiet for the most part. Only down part was the ice machine didn't work when we tried it. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay.

Easy to get to--easy check in

The problem was that I couldn’t stay in the hotel because there was another card in the system so I had to reserve another hotel. I don’t know if is the hotel or Expedia foul but someone has to get my money back because this is not my foul
