Reviews
The hotel is well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. The location is praised for being walking distance to attractions, food, and transit. However, some guests express concerns about the homeless population in the area and the lack of real breakfast buffet.

Restaurant not what I expected. Lacks service.

Good location. Friendly staff, especially the concierge guy. Beds were not very comfortable, kind of hard. Very small lobby area.

Room was very spacious, the bathroom too. Shower was large, lit (a sadly uncommon feature in hotels!), and the shower had amazing water pressure! Staff was always friendly and helpful. Rarely did we open the set of doors into the building ourselves. Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. Very convenient to Seattle sights like Pike Place Market, Space Needle, etc. Overall, a really great experience!
- 4/5
Very cute hotel with a pretty central location (15 minute walk to pike place market and about 20 to the space needle). The room and the hotel was super clean and I absolutely love the shower and the bathroom. I am taking one star because I was billed for room charges that were suppose to be covered by the Hilton Honors daily credit as explained by the very nice guy who checked us in. It took a bit of effort to get a refund since my card was charged and I had to contact someone twice to have it taken care of.

I had a great stay at this hotel in Seattle. The location was very convenient, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. I would happily stay here again the next time I visit Seattle.
- 5/5
Every single staff member were very very kind and helpful. We showed up super early for check in just to have our bags stored and they were able to accommodate us checking in. All of the great hospitality meant so much. Super clean. Super modern and had a beautiful rooftop sitting area that was not used at all except while my family and I were there. 5/5. Look no further for the best hotel in Seattle. Also very walkable to lots of places.
- 5/5
Room is clean and also the bathroom. I like the laminate flooring much better than carpet. Comfortable bed. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Such a great stay! Staff was friendly and the room was super clean!
- 5/5
My stay was awesome! The staff was very welcoming. The room was spacious and very nice. The Sound Bar’s daily free wine and champagne from 4-5 with a beautiful terrace view was a welcomed unexpected treat.
- 5/5
Nice big room. Excellent bistro , whether its breakfast or late drink . Only negative was the 7th floor terrace was closed 2 of the 3 nights we were there for a relaxing drink with a view !! Otherwise everything was perfect. Location is excellent for tourists.

Great hotel - Only minus is the homeless around the neighborhood. It's all of downtown Seattle tho. Not safe to go for early AM run or walking around after dark.

To me, one of the most important aspects about staying at any hotel is how welcome I feel. I have come to expect good things from any place that has at least a 4 star rating, however this time I have to recognize one employee in particular from The Sound Hotel in Seattle. Her name is Joanetta (I hope I am not misspelling her name), and from the moment she greeted me I felt relaxed and welcomed. All I can say is I feel she is authentic in the way she deals with customers and carries a positive energy with her. I am very thankful to her and the rest of the staff for a great visit to this wonderful city.
- 5/5
Room was pristine and the in room coffee selection was excellent. Staff was friendly and ready to share knowledge for first time visitors making it easier to get around the city.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff!! Get the Peleton room :)
- 4/5
Property was clean & the rooms spacious. Staff was helpful & friendly. Service in restraunt was slow but food tasty. Would recommend to friends.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were kind and helpful with any questions or need that we had. Enjoyed a very nice lunch in the restaurant there, and it took advantage of quiet and views from the 7th floor Terrace and Bar. Definitely a place we plan to stay at again on future visits to Seattle.
- 5/5
Great location…walking distance to the Space Needle and Pike Place Market!!
- 5/5
Clean room, wonderful staff, excellent service! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
This hotel was excellent. The most expensive / nicest hotel that we have stayed at before. Pricey at $340 a night for a 2 queen room, but the quality of care was worth it. The staff are extremely professional, patient, accommodating and kind. Valet was great, (although we thought it was included in the stay, I think that booking doesn’t do a great job on being transparent about things so I won’t fault the hotel), the lobby bathrooms were clean, elevators force you to use your key to use which keeps it safer for guests, the chairs were all comfortable in the restaurant, in the room and on the 7th floor. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and warm! You can tell that they take pride in the comfort, customer service and experience that they provide which makes it so worth the cost of staying there. The bar / restaurant attached to the hotel is in the very front of the hotel which makes it easy to find, it’s a little bit spendy but nothing out of the ordinary for Seattle. The male bartender that works the night shifts who served us on both nights was cool and did a good job! The breakfast was good & luckily we had proof in an email that we had breakfast included through booking because otherwise breakfast is outrageous for 4 people. Not your typical little hotel buffet, it is at the restaurant and the food is good. I don’t have anything to complain about!

Large newer rooms in great location.
- 5/5
We arrived an hour before check in and our room was already ready. Front desk staff were so kind and friendly, we had good chats and laughs. Location is great (walking distance to waterfront), building and rooms were very clean and well kept. It was very quiet, no noise issues. Would definitely rebook this hotel!

Great atmosphere

Yummy breakfast and super friendly restaurant staff. Front desk could use more friendliness.
- 3.5/5
Hotel staff were very friendly, attentive, and hotel location excellent for closeness to Westlake Center (for airlink access /monorail to space needle) and good selection of surrounding restaurants. Pike Place market is approx 15 mins walk from the hotel. Loved the size of room, and decor. Bed was comfortable, and there was a Large TV in room, a fridge & coffee machine (but no kettle). Bathroom a generous size (but shower not very intuitive - had to call down to reception to ask for instructions on how to turn it on!). We used the luggage store on our last day (as we had a late flight), and the hotel staff made this very easy. Hotel has a restaurant for breakfast & dinner, but we didn't use (as we found cheaper options nearby) Note: There is a lot of homelessness in Seattle, and whilst we didn't feel unsafe at any time, we were a bit wary walking around after dark (particularly around 3rd avenue) when going out for dinner. The air conditioning in the room, although effective, was 'extremely loud' and made it difficult to sleep. We called down to the front desk who sent maintenance, but they confirmed that as the compressor is built into the room (barely 4 feet from the bed) there was nothing they could do to fix the noise. They offered to move us, but confirmed all rooms in the hotel would be the same. The hotel provided a small fan as an alternative, but this was ineffective, and didn't cool the room. We were in room 1028, and just down the hall there is an ice machine/soda vending machine. Both machines also create noise which can be heard in the room (the ice machine particularly in the early hours kept us awake). We really liked the hotel, but these two things would prevent me from returning, or recommending unless you are a very heavy sleeper. Also - one very minor annoyance - no hooks in the room to hang a wet coat.

- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Two things to point out, 1) the hotel should consider upgrading the toilet paper (very thin) and 2) the food/drinks for Happy Hour on the 7th floor was subpar. Other than items above, we would go back 😊
- 4/5
Except for the bed sheet not really smelling good and fresh, everything else was good during our short stay for 1 night. Staffs were amazing.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff and nearby parking
- 5/5
Centrally located 10 min from space needle & 10 min from Pikes Place. Clean beautifully decorated modern hotel, friendly staff. Good to know-next to a public health clinic and area, other than that would stay here again
- 5/5
Loved everything about this hotel! The breakfasts there were delicious and the location is a close walk to Pikes Place!
- 4/5
Only thing I didn’t like is that it is only valet parking.
- 5/5
Excellent service, very very clean, to upstairs bar to the softness of the sheets to the beautiful bathroom and shower I loved every second
- 5/5
The staff, from valet to front desk and housekeeping, were super friendly. No complaints, everyone and everything about our stay was amazing.
- 5/5
The staff were so friendly and helpful. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and thy made sure to make it special for us and gave us great information on places to visit while in town. The room was very cozy and clean and we will definitely be back next time we are in Seattle!

- 5/5
Great room. Immaculate
- 5/5
Very kind and attentive staff, spacious and clean rooms.
- 5/5
The Sound Hotel was a fantastic place to stay in Seattle. As a female, solo traveler, I always felt safe at this hotel with a doorman and key card access required to utilize the elevator to individual rooms. The room was very well-appointed, had a comfortable bed, was quite spacious and very clean. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. The lobby has a nice pantry of snacks and drinks in addition to pop machines on the individual floors if needed. The only potential downsides I noticed was the lack of microwave in the room and no available room service during breakfast. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend highly to other travelers.
- 5/5
Super helpful front desk, clean and comfortable room. Thank you!
- 5/5
The room was beautiful and the staff was great!
- 5/5
Excellent service. Clean rooms.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel!
- 5/5
This hotel was very clean and well taken care of. The room was spacious and spotless. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. I will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family when they fly up for my wedding later this year!
- 5/5
John at the front desk was great!
- 3/5
Breakfast was only available in the bistro and not offered elsewhere. The location was great and the room was clean; however, housekeeping arrived quite late in the afternoon (between 3:00–5:30 pm), which was difficult to accommodate with little notice. Parking is not available on the same block as the hotel, though it is more affordable than valet options. Unsure if we would stay at this location again.
- 5/5
Clean room with wonderful customer service. Will definitely stay again. Front desk agents were incredibly helpful.
- 5/5
Great stay. Room is a bit small.

- 5/5
Great location, nice size rooms, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Super clean and at a great location along with great staff.
- 5/5
Staff is very helpful. Valet parking is the only option which worked out but figuring out where to park for check in was a little tricky. Hotel is very modern. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
This hotel was one of the most modern and clean hotels I’ve visited in a while. The front desk staff and doormen were very friendly and welcoming. About 10-15 min walk to space needle and I think very close to the market.
- 5/5
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Hotel is super clean, and conveniently located.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was great. No issues at all with the property.
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Easy check-in, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and pictures were representative of actual conditions. The staff was also extremely kind and helpful!
- 5/5
It was very comfortable. The room was extremely clean and well thought out. The front desk staff was wonderful and specifically a shout out to Chase who made a fantastic dinner recommendation.
- 5/5
Great hotel and staff and very good size rooms and updated.
- 5/5
I've stayed here a few times and it is consistently comfortable, clean, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Room was great (drum themed which was totally coincidental). Staff were super nice and helpful. Location was excellent for our concert and shopping. Dinner at their restaurant was amazing as well!! Oooh and the bartender- very friendly!
- 5/5
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Big smiles every time we walked in through the front doors. Very clean, new and modern vibe. Close to the space needle and can pretty much ca walk anywhere in the city.
- 5/5
Champagne on arrival, clean room, comfy bed and linens.
- 5/5
Very tidy and neat room. Great service.
- 5/5
The ambience, the host, the bar tender, they were all welcoming. The room was very clean.
- 5/5
Spotless room, nice amenities, professional staff
- 5/5
Service was great and good location
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
We did not have breakfast but the latte from the bistro was really good. the layout of the room provided some privacy between the bed and the bath. it also had additional seating for working or reading. It is not the best block in the belltown area but not the worst either.
- 5/5
great location, great service, fantastic rooms with great touches. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Amazing front desk, bellhop, bartender and restaurant staff this morning
- 5/5

- 5/5
Amazing hotel, super clean staff was wonderful
- 5/5
The hotel rooms were very clean and equipped with the amenities we needed upon arrival. We were there for two nights and opted for room service which we did need to call down to the desk twice about on the second day. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the stay. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower was a highlight and appreciated by the group.
- 5/5
Good and clean hotel
- 5/5
Everything was great ! The staff was so friendly & the location is VERY convenient!
- 5/5
Clean spacious room. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
If we ever go back to Seattle, The Sound is where we will stay again. Outstanding customer service; they were able to accommodate us 9 hours before check in time without us even asking since they had availability. The location is perfect, at a walkable distance from the main attractions. The room is big and comfortable; we had plenty of space to place our 4 big suitcases and there was still lots of room to walk around without bumping into them. It was clean all around.
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel with great staff in a good area with lots of options to walk to.
- 3/5
The beds are not the comfiest, but the shower is amazing
- 5/5
Clean and excellent personnel.
- 5/5
This place is conveniently located staffed well, clean, and really clean.
- 3/5
Great location, except it was a dead zone for my phone, so had to walk half a block to find directions or get an Uber. Air conditioner didn’t work. Windows don't open. Pricey. Mini fridge but no microwave. Coffee maker also didn't work peoperly. Staff was nice, but didn’t follow through on what they said they would do. So, a lot of potential, but currently a swing and miss.
- 4/5
Once they corrected the reservation issue all was great!
- 5/5
Parking was $55 a day, but was not listed anywhere. Non-hotel parking in the area is cheaper but the we would have had to walk back to the property. Neighborhood was crawling with closed down businesses and homeless drug addicts. The hotel was amazing surrounding area was scary and parking cost was ridiculous and not forecasted.
- 5/5
Lovely!
- 5/5
Beautiful very well maintained property. Friendly responsive staff.
- 4/5
Room was clean & spacious and nicely appointed. Very convenient central location within walking distance of most downtown Seattle landmarks. The only critique is that the area around the hotel had a lot of homelessness & drug activity. Not the hotel's fault, but we made sure to be mindful of our surroundings. Didn’t have any issues.
- 5/5
Very pleasant stay!
- 5/5
It’s a great location to the pier and also to the space needle very comfortable walking. Everybody was helpful. It was an excellent hotel. I would recommend it highly
- 5/5
The facility
- 5/5
Clean rooms, front desk and greeters were awesome. The bar staff could have been a little nicer.
- 5/5
Unique hotel, lovely skyline views, with a bar. We had a great breakfast, delicious breakfast croissants sandwiches they were kind enough to make them to go for us since we were headed to the train station .
- 5/5
The staff, room, location were perfect, but we couldn’t get over how many homeless were downtown in general.
- 4/5
Breakfast choices were varied and delicious. Workout facility was small but had everything we needed. Room very clean and comfortable. Bathroom could use more space for toiletries and hooks for hand towels. Shower pressure was good. We walked everywhere in the area and also used the light rail train which was just a few blocks away. Be careful going north from hotel - area did not feel as safe. Only negatives: the terrace did not open until 8 am (we were never able to have coffee out there) and was closed two of our three nights there, so we weren’t able to have a drink out there, either. We arrived from airport after 9 pm - Hours posted for Currant cafe/bar said open til 10 pm but our bartender made it clear he was closing up at 9:30 - rushed us to order then took a long time to bring our drinks. Instead of being able to relax after a full day of travel, we felt rushed.
- 5/5
Perfection!! From start at check-in with Kevin, dropping off our bags with Jacob and help to get around town, to having a drink at the bar/restaurant with Vick, to leaving the next morning!! I would totally stay here again!! The room was huge, and the bed was comfortable!!
- 5/5
This is an A+ PROPERTY. Beautiful, elegant, clean , and they were extremely respondent to our every need ! Amazing!
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
We arrived around 10:30am and were able to check-in( very suprised). Friendly staff and centrally located and close to everything: Public Market, train station and lots of coffee shops
- 4/5
Nice place, very welcoming but really expensive …
- 5/5
Staff remembered us after the first time walking in. Very safe - need key card to access elevators and access property after restaurant closes
- 5/5
Great hotel and staff. It is located on the cusp of areas where homeless hang out. Overall feels safe.
- 4/5
A value for the money hotel that is very conveniently located near the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and other attractions. it is also close to Smith Cove terminal for those going on Alaska cruises.
- 5/5
We had a comfortable stay. Hotel was nicely decorated and in a convenient location walkable to Pike Place, but at the same time away from the noise. Staff was friendly and welcoming!
- 4/5
Told " I had to ask in the am " Called in am .." they had all been given out " Just disappointing . The hotel is pleasant and centrally located
- 5/5
Nice spacious rooms
- 5/5
Nice spacious rooms.
- 5/5
Thanks, Chase!
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
The bltta in the restaurant for breakfast is perfect
- 5/5
Great place and awesome staff!
- 5/5
The Sound Hotel was located by the water. Everything was walkable and close to the restaurants!
- 4/5
We were not able to valet park because there was an Uber driver sitting in the valet spot for a long time. No valet to greet us to get our car. We went in to ask and they said to grab a trolley. I needed to give someone my keys not grab a trolley. Disappointed in no view of Space needle like advertised in photos of room.
- 5/5
A better room service menu would be nice.
- 5/5
The staff are all incredible.
- 5/5
Loved the location, the vibe of the hotel, and how clean and fresh the hotel was.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel room. Walkable to Public Market and restaurants.
- 5/5
Property was very accessible and walkable. Got great directions to get to where we wanted to go.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick, hotel was clean, and the area had at least a few restaurants close by (we only walked around a little). There is a small area in the lobby where you can buy some snacks and drinks, which is useful.
- 5/5
On our way to and from cruise. Lovely hotel, great staff.
- 5/5
I like the hotel clean and good service 😍
- 5/5
Great location, great service, nice room.
- 5/5
Great downtown location, with friendly staff
- 5/5
Highly recommend it!
- 5/5
The hotel was very beautiful and clean. Enjoyed the breakfast which was very tasty. We had a great time there. The hotel front desk staff and valet service were excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly
- 5/5
Hotel was very convenient to all the attractions. Walked to the Space needle, pikes market, and Starbucks Roastery. Great place to stay if you are a tourist.
- 5/5
This was a lovely prioperty and quite a “find.” It was my first time there, but I plan to return. Walking distance to Jazz Alley = great draw.
- 5/5
Pool
- 5/5
Excellent service! Clean room
- 4/5
The room and amenities were fine, a bit dated and worn out but fine. The lobby doesn't really exist, NYC apartments have bigger lobby area than this. Then there is the Seattle downtown surrounding. There are so many homeless people and addicts (and their tents)wandering around the hotel and everywhere in the city that one can’t help wondering what happened here?
- 5/5
Beautiful and Peaceful place. Close to everywhere. Downside is they have a government health agency right next to the building so not the best surroundings
- 4/5
We used the onsite parking (Fairly expensive add on to your hotel room) and didn’t retrieve it until we left two days later as we had decided to walk to the attractions we wanted to see. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed with places to sit, toiletries, etc. The only downside would be the noise of the a/c unit. It cycled on and off constantly, sometimes just the fans blowing, other times the unit turned on and sounded like a jet engine, very loud. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.
- 5/5
Great rooms and location! Wonderful staff - very helpful!
- 5/5
The staff were amazing and went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied. Although there were a couple of minor issues we had, the manager, Greg, went above and beyond to make sure he made it right. So the customer service was extremely good overall.
- 5/5
Quiet and modern

Locations
- 5/5
Nice staff and fast check in
- 5/5
Everyone was great.. have to give Jordan and Aiden a special mention cause they went above and beyond with all our luggage…
- 5/5
Great hotel walking distance to Pikes Place. Many close restaurants as well. Staff was very respectful and friendly always opening doors for you. Only downside was valet was expensive, and the only other options were sketchy parking garages. But I would stay here again next time.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
The hotel was in a perfect walking distance from the pier. It was beautiful and the staff was helpful and very nice. The bartenders at the on site restaurant were great!
- 4/5
Overall a great hotel, all the staff were super friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Our heating/cooling unit in our room was unfortunately quite noisy, and there were many sounds throughout the hotel we could hear through the night.
- 5/5
Love this local so convenient to space needle, sphere, pike place market and west lake center
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice and in a great location, however, there were a lot of homeless people and we were even followed into the hotel elevator and asked for money. The rooms were large and very nicely decorated and clean.
- 5/5
Great location with terrific staff. Room was very well appointed and beautifully decorated.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable property that’s walking distance to much of downtown seattles popular attractions.
- 4/5
Great stay! Great location!
- 5/5
Great stay they had room available for early check in which was great room was clean and staff was friendly.
- 3/5
The person who checked us in was horrible, rude, and should not be in a customer service position. Our first impression was I should have picked another hotel. My 12 year old daughter noticed the guy was rude. Everyone else was fantastic. It is a shame 1 person can make you disappointed. Move that person behind the scenes.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel. Staff was fantastic. They were able to accomodate an early check in for us. Room was outstanding. Clean. New room. Only thing that might bother some people would be the fact that it is located beside a public health centre but most big cities have some sort of homelessness on their streets. Great walking distance to sightseeing locations.
- 5/5
Staff were sooo welcoming
- 5/5
We had an amazing time at the Sound. Incredible staff let us check in hrs early, always held the door for us, greeted us when we came in, and overall very lovely! I would definitely stay here again next time I am in town.

What an awesome experience at The Sound hotel. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. From the moment we stepped foot out of our uber, they were outside waiting for us to help with our bags. They brought our bags upstairs and the rest of our stay, they were there to open doors, guide us and assist with whatever we needed. The hotel was also super clean, modern and in a convenient location. 10/10

This was our first stay at this hotel. The staff was excellent, the room was very roomy and clean. We frequent Jazz Alley at least 5 times a year. We try to stay at hotels within walking distance. This is one of the nicer hotels for the price. We loved our stay, and we plan to use them again in the future. The restaurant was very nice and convenient. Excellent hotel.

1). You must opt in for daily room cleaning, I had never heard of this before and wasn't informed of this when checking in. 2). If you opt to go to the gym on the 7th floor, the fee is $25/day. When I inquired about this upon check in I was told it was a one time fee of $25. So, when I checked out I was surprised to see that I had a room charge of approximately $100. It is nice to be informed of items like this when you check in and not have to figure them out or be surprised by them later. Very nice people work there, more information needs to be shared though.

Pros: For being downtown, the soundproofing of our room that faced the street was superb. Blackout curtains actually work. The body wash and hair products are VERY high end. I looked it up because it smelled so good. Beds and pillows were nice. Room was surprisingly spacious. We do drink coffee in our room and most of the time it’s mediocre at best but not this time. It was not just drinkable but it was tasty. Staff was pleasant but I expect nothing less than that from Hilton because I’ve never had a bad stay. Knock on wood. Yes, you have to pay for parking but all hotels have that fee and the nice thing is that they let us keep it parked until 3 which meant we got to go walk around after check out and didn’t have to worry about parking again downtown. The ONLY con to this room was the chair in the room. I know that sounds silly to complain about but it was the most uncomfortable chair I’ve ever sat in. 10/10 would stay here again.

Well, First of all it was very clean and modern. The location was walkable with an 8 and 9 year old granddaughters. Did not see any homeless - maybe behind the hotel a block or two - but not anywhere we were walking. Spaceneedle, Pike's Market, Back from Nordstrom's ! I would highly recommended this property and I AM PICKY!!

This property was great! The staff was amazing to work with and very kind. Our room was clean and very modern. You can walk or scooter to all the big sights in Seattle! Definitely will return.

The front desk staff was very nice, the only downside was the parking. There was only paid parking on the street or pretty pricy valet parking that we soundly use due to our truck size. Overall, still very happy with the whole trip!

Variety of restaurants close - Serious Pie, Dahlia Bakery, FOB Sushi, Asean Streat Food Hall, Kanak Indian Cuisine, Assaggio, Lola. Walkable to Seattle Center, Waterfront (Pike Place Market), Pioneer Square Hotel clean and updated Staff professional, helpful and friendly Only complaints: Fix the room doors so they don't slam. When our neighbors were departing at 4 am and constantly went out and in moving luggage, we could not sleep until they were gone. All room doors in this hotel make a loud noise when they shut. It seems like this would be a simple fix. Next to a public health center where homeless people congregate

I always enjoying staying at Hilton Hotels, and I love their beds. My only complaint about this time was that housekeeping didn't show up and the thermostat does not go below 65 degrees. I like it to be closer to 60 when I am sleeping.
