    For the price i paid, the room was not so clean and modern. Also, the pool was super hot, like a hot tub. Doesnt make any sense to heat the pool in the weather. For the hot tub, it s normal, but for the pool... We have to go elsewhere to find a normal pool

    There were a few issues when we stayed in April 2026. The rooftop pools were scourging hot, felt more like jacuzzis. There was no attendant at the pool for fractions of time, we called to request clean towels but they never came and the hotel does not have an attendant in the lobby after 11:30pm. Room was average.

    We really enjoyed the excellent location of the hotel, which made everything very convenient. The room size was also great and very comfortable, contributing positively to our stay. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room was extremely poor. The floors were very dirty, and the bathrooms were not properly cleaned, which was quite disappointing. The valet service also needs improvement. There was often only one staff member managing a high volume of cars, which resulted in long waiting times. At times, when the staff member stepped away or was assisting other guests, there was no clear way to know if someone was available or to request assistance, which made the experience inconvenient. We also experienced an issue with package deliveries. Boxes that were confirmed as delivered (with proof of delivery) went missing, and the staff was not helpful in resolving the situation. There seems to be a lack of proper protocol for handling issues when deliveries go missing, and overall, a need for better control in these situations.

    During our stay, we asked to move rooms due to a neighboring guest violating the non-smoking policy. We do appreciate how quickly the staff handled that situation. However, the room we were moved to was not comparable to what we originally booked. Instead of a suite, we were given a standard room with a single king bed, one bathroom, and a balcony. It was missing the extra space, sleeper sofa, and second bathroom that were key reasons we chose the suite in the first place. What was frustrating is that we were told the two rooms were considered equivalent and that there would be no change in the rate. From our perspective, that simply isn’t accurate—there’s a clear difference in both space and functionality between a suite and a standard room. The hotel did waive facility fees for two days, which we recognize as a goodwill gesture. However, this didn’t fully make up for the downgrade in accommodations. We also reached out through Hotels.com, but unfortunately, their response—along with the hotel’s—was less than satisfactory, and no further resolution was offered. Overall, while the staff were polite and the property itself was fine, the mismatch between what was advertised and what we actually received is concerning.

    Rooftop pools really awesome just the heat doesn’t work on most of them. Loved the full access to the main hotel across the street including the beach service. Only 1 working elevator in the main area caused long wait during the day.

Although I requested assistance, it was not resolved during my stay, which made things a bit uncomfortable while traveling alone. I also noticed that some of the public restrooms had flushing issues, either not working properly or continuing to run. Additionally, I found the pricing for food and drinks to be quite high, which made it a bit difficult to fully enjoy those offerings. There was also a discrepancy with my breakfast charge, and I was not provided with a receipt. As a suggestion, it might be helpful to have a shower facility available near the pool area for guests who have already checked out but are still on the property before their departure. Overall, I appreciate the experience and hope this feedback is helpful for future improvements.

    This hotel’s behavior was absolutely disgusting. We arrived at 3 PM and were told our room was “almost ready.” We came back at 4 PM, the official check-in time, and it was still not ready. After standing there for over an hour with children, we finally learned the truth: the air conditioning had been broken the entire day. Staff knew this and still chose to lie and mislead us instead of being honest. Management’s behavior was even worse. The manager refused to come downstairs and face us, hiding behind phone calls while making promises of free valet, waived fees, and breakfast to calm the situation. None of it was properly documented. The next day, staff denied everything. Only after pushing did they suddenly “find a note,” but management still failed to honor what was promised and then conveniently disappeared and became unavailable. They completely abandoned the situation and left guests to deal with their failure alone. The building itself is also extremely misleading. Instead of the views shown online, many rooms face loud generators and dirty rooftops. The beach, pool, and real amenities are across the street at another building, which is not clearly explained. Front desk staff were indifferent, dismissive, and showed zero interest in helping. No accountability, no ownership, no respect for guests. We paid over $2,000 and were treated like we didn’t matter.     While the property itself was very nice, the service alone made our stay less than pleasant. We had on our reservation for 2 cribs for 2 children, called before our stay to confirm and arrived at the hotel to no cribs available. We went back and forth with front desk, all of whom were very nice, but nothing could be done and managers were near impossible to reach. After demanding to speak with a manager, the manager promised to follow up with us on the situation and we heard nothing. Eventually we had to go out and buy 2 cheap pack and plays (which I had mentioned to the hotel as a solution on their end to spend a relatively small amount of money and keep everyone happy) and did not hear from anyone the rest of the trip. The people at the front desk were always nice and apologetic, but they seemed powerless to even get their managers on the line, amd once on the line the managers were unhelpful, unapologetic and dismissive. As stated, the property itself is great, but the fact that our kids had to sleep on the floor until we went out and bought them pack n plays, and then the follow-up communication and service by hotel management was frankly an embarrassingly terrible indictment on the level of service to expect in this hotel.

    Rooms could use some maintenance. Drain was clogged, refrigerator cabinet was broken, sharp screes were sticking out of the rails on the deck. Had to call housekeeping 5 times in 8 days to bring coffee. They did complementary upgrade our room which was wonderful we have been there twice a year for 10 years and we will continue to come back. Easy to walk to restaurants and grocery stores

    Hi I first got there. They gave me a handicap room when I showered all the water went out, but they fix it for me and they give me different room immediately but I wasn’t happy because I didn’t tell me it’s a handicap room they’re supposed to let me know it’s a handicap and I will confirm I could have it or not.

    The front desk people were nice, but they had no power to accommodate. So ultimately i was very neglected including my room not being ready at check in time. Nobody to talk to. The manager couldn’t be reached again n again. Finally I walked across the street to find her. Sadly her attitude was disgusting. Let alone she kept lying, just not to have to accommodate. Shame on grand beach to keep that woman as the manager. She should be called DAMAGER.

    "Extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the grand beach surfside . The room was infested with bed bugs, and the hotel's response to the issue was slow and inadequate. To make matters worse, the elevator was broken, and my wife and son were stuck for 10 minutes. The lack of customer service and attention to guest concerns was appalling. Considering a Holiday Inn would likely provide better service. Unless they revamp their approach to guest satisfaction, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone."

    Terrible. Do not stay here. Among the number of problems, we couldn’t check in by 4pm and had to wait a couple of hours for a room to be ready. Staff was rude and kept telling us room would be ready shortly - a clear lie. Also, spills in the hallway would go uncleared for hours upon hours. Dirty hotel. Felt more like a motel.

    Loves the property and especially the staff. Valet group was amazing, great location. We were in the annex across the street and took advantage of the main hotel's offerings. They upgraded us to a massive two room room and only complaint was that the locks for the balcony needed to be secured by maintenance (which they did) , the towels were noticeably old and one of the couches near tv was stained, worn and old but net net rally likes hotel

    I rarely write reviews, but I am sharing since I had such a hard time booking hotels for my trip to South Florida. Every hotel had so many 1 star reviews. I can assure you, GBH Surfside West was a great experience. Really beautiful and well maintained. European elegance. I actually liked our pool area more than the main hotel because there were fewer people. 1 heated pool, 1 unheated, 2 hot tubs each at ours and the main hotel. Very convenient to be able to walk to restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlors, and even the shops at Bal Harbour that has some very high end retail and restaurants. The beach has a walking trail and bike trail which were very nice. Gym was a pretty good size which was nice. I got the sense that a lot of the clientele is very wealthy foreigners, but typical upper middle class Americans were the other main contingent. I was granted late check out of 1pm which was appreciated. Very relaxing and good experience.

    Our room had some sort of boiler closet that rumbled and vibrated noisily all night on both nights of our stay. When we went down in the morning to notify about it, we waited by the desk for quite some time, however no staff personal were there.     1/5 just now on Google I would definitely not recommend this hotel, horrible customer service I was not able to get in touch with the manager for two days ! Our door would not close for 2 days,amenities are horrible ,dirty, grimy.The pool area is disgusting. My daughter could’ve got electrocuted if my husband didn’t hold her back from jumping into the pool !!They had electric wires in the pool ( see pictures)That’s a safety factor that could’ve been fatal !! The lounge chairs are filthy! I sat on one it was broken I sunk in the sand I really could’ve hurt myself! The bottom of the pool is cracked you can cut yourself ! We had no access to beach towels at 10 am for 2 hours we had to finally find the cleaning lady and get some towels! They pour bleach shock and chemicals in the pool while people are using the pool, which is definitely not safe! That should be done first thing in the morning or late at night! This hotel is falling apart. I’ve been coming for many years, but I will never step foot inside again !!! They lost my business! Grand beach hotel needs new management this is unacceptable!! Safety should be your 1st priority clearly it’s not

    Was v disappointed with service, the first am we requested shampoo, conditioner and addl towels which were never delivered to our room, the 2nd am there was no one at reception for 3 hrs, we requested a late checkout and when receptionist updated our room key they never worked, and 1 of the elevators wasnt working. We couldnt use the extra time bc we couldnt get into our room. Very disappointed with hotel service.

    I got locked out of my balcony the first night because the balcony door was broken. I was stuck for almost an hour screaming for help. The police had to come and break open my door. I would like to have one night free to compensate for a horrible night.
