Heathman Lodge

This was without question one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in, which includes most of the states in the union. Best stay we have had in this Oregon and Washington 14-day trip.

The property is great. Unexpectedly quiet. The staff was fantastic.

THE WORKOUT ROOM WAS CLOSED. THE ELEVATOR WAS OUT OF ORDER. NO ROOM SERVICE OR COFFEE IN THE ROOM.

Pool, spa, and sauna were all shut down. That’s what we were mostly there for. Elizabeth at front desk was one of the rudest miserable people I’ve ever met. She was short and and snappy and rude even before we got to the desk.

Great location for us. Full service restaurant. Friendly staff. The bird song in the hallways is a nice touch. Broken make-up mirror in the bath. Not enough wall sockets for computer plug-ins. And existing sockets are poorly placed. Miss match of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) and water. Took a very long time to rinse off in the shower. Surprised when the restaurant didn’t open one morning because of computer issues.

This was our third stay at the Heathman Lodge. Our first two stays were wonderful, so when in need of a hotel in the Vancouver WA area we immediately booked the Heathman. Check-In was great, they even gave us a bottle of wine! But the next day we were away from our room most of the day and returned at night. There was no maid service! All our towels were used and left on floor where we had left them, trash wasn't emptied and bed wasn't made. I tried to call to the front desk, but room phone didn't work. Went down to front desk and was told we had to request maid service. I said why weren't we informed, and desk person said they should of told us at check-in. Check-In person did give me clean towels for the room. We then put on our swim suits and went to indoor pool and found it was closed for repairs. No one mentioned that as well.

The hotel had planned maintenance that was not shared on their site, this negatively impacted our stay. The hotel also has weekend live music that has their entire front valet/loading zone blocked 24/7. When live music is Friday and Saturday, Not ideal when it rains non stop. Recommend they open up the front of their hotel for convenience for all of their customers.

The hotel overcharged my Expedia booked rate and tacked on an undisclosed early checkout fee that they refused to wave. Between a shady billing and poor conditions, I will not return.

It is a really cool place, esp if you like the feel of lodges (Timberline. etc.). Rooms also feel lodgeish! Clean. Free espressos was a nice touch too.

It was located in a good location for us. The price for the accommodation was decent. It was a good place for one night. A lovely 'mountain lodge' vibe makes this a step above the standard motel. Great amenities - fridge, safe, microwave, coffemaker- as well as a big walk in shower! All at a better than average price. Nice pub and grill too!

The Heathman is conveniently located in Vancouver. The staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean. The restaurant on site has good food, a bar and sometimes music.

The rustic, heavy-timber construction was very striking (in a positive way), yet the rooms and facilities were modern and clean. Easy check-in and check-out processes, too.

Our son lives in battleground we come down. We often stay here with our two dogs. It’s great and they have a great pool. Very friendly staff nice bar.

It is a wonderful facility. The beautiful wood and craftsmanship throughout the hotel sets it apart. The rooms show off the art and unique furniture.

While the employees are nice and the atmosphere feels welcoming, it seems like they try to squeeze every last dollar from their customers: An unexplained Resort Fee is charged, as well as an early check in fee - one hour before regular check in time.

Rooms are immaculate , the property is clean and well maintained, the staff is exemplary, even at capacity the hotel was quiet and relaxed, the Hudson’s Restaurant attached to the hotel is TOP NOTCH. The location of the Lodge is optimal and the stay overall was an excellent value. Could not be happier. Extra points for the Koi Pond!

This is my favorite motel, has been for years. The motel is clean, but starting to show its age.

Check in was simple and the food at the restroom was great. Usually hotel food isn't. So it's a nice surprise. The pool was fun.

Didn’t get clean towels, had to go downstairs at 9pm and ask for them - staff wasn’t friendly or accommodating to our group. Restaurant is very expensive even for a simple breakfast - will not stay here again

We frequently stay at The Heathman Lodge when visiting family in the area. The hotel is consistently clean, incredibly friendly staff, quiet and good food. Highly recommend The Heathman Lodge for a nice cozy stay.

The room was clean and comfortable but showing some wear. We had to get maintenance (which was sent up immediately) to reattach our toilet seat. I was surprised after walking around the building that there was no outdoor seating to relax in except for a couple of tables and chairs by the entrance. The pool area smelled so strongly of chlorine that we decided not to use. Treadmill was broken in the exercise room. Small things but added together left a “meh”impression.

Lack of breakfast options before 8 am - not much nearby either. Overall a very comfortable property.

I’m not really a country log cabin vibe person so it’s not my personal decor choice but they did such a nice job that it was great. The hotel is not modern in any way so if you are looking for modern elegance look elsewhere. If you are looking for a fun, country lodge vibe experience that makes you feel like you are staying at Disneyland with great staff and customer service, go to the Heathman Lodge!

Great place across from the mall, who knew!? They offered me a free bottle of wine upon checkin. Super friendly staff, clean hotel with a lodge vibe you'd never know you were next door to all the modern conveniences. The Mexican restaurant across the street was super good! Will definitely stay here for all my future Vancouver trips!

I love the restaurant and bar at Heathman Lodge. It is convenient to be able to stay and enjoy delicious food and beverages right on the property.

The rooms and lobby are clean. Some of the staff at the desk are new and clearly in training. There is way too much chlorine in the pool area and you can smell it from the hallway. Restaurant and bar are always wonderful the food and drinks are excellent. The bartenders are very professional.

The hotel has a warm, wood-based feel that gives it a character not shared by most commercial hotels. Our room was large and comfortable. A drink in the lobby restaurant was expensive, but well-made and generous in size. The surroundings are quiet, tree-shaded, and peaceful. We would happily stay again.

Enjoyed our hot tub in the evening but when we went to the pool in morning there were no towels available. I went to the front desk and they said they would get some to us right away. After swimming for a half hour and a ten minute soak, still NO towels. We dripped all the way up to our room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Just a couple items that we had not encountered on previous stays. Still our number one choice in Vancouver.

This hotel is my new favorite and I’ll be recommending it to all my friends! The lobby is very welcoming, the staff is super nice and the rooms are huge. Our big balcony felt like we were up in a treehouse, I loved it. The Hudson restaurant is in the hotel, the food was delicious, reasonably priced and their staff was great. I could live here!

Unfortunately I got room 233 which is right next to a hallway chat area for guests (there is a coffee table with 4 comfortable chairs around it). Each night a different set of teenagers had conversations there past 10 PM with the noise level you'd expect of teenagers so I had to go shush them in my pajamas at 11 PM (I kept waiting for them to realize it was after 10 PM... wishful thinking on my part). There should be a card on the table or such to warn guests to be quiet after 10 PM or something of that nature.

We ate the seafood in the restaurant and it was amazingly good. They have a wide variety of wine and drinks to choose from in the bar. We did not have brekfast at this location as we are all just coffee drinkers in the morning but they did have a good coffee bar. Overall it was a good experience for myself and my family

Our go-to hotel whenever in the area. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are great. I gave cleanliness 5 stars but was actually surprised that there was thick dust on the top edge of the headboard. This is totally out of the ordinary for this hotel. Building and bathrooms are aging and will need to be updated, but is still a great place to stay!

Restaurant staff was rude, and service was nonexistent. Front desk staff didn't follow through on what they said they would do. We NEVER get the complimentary bottle of wine from being VIP through expedia. What keeps us coming back, is the clean and comfortable rooms. The quiet atmosphere. The chair in the room was beat up and torn, blinds didn’t work properly. It is a slow time of year, no excuses needed. It’s a disgraceful world we are coming to, unfortunately it’s just part of life.

So this was a Great Stay !!! Heathman Lodge was worth the $$$ i give it Almost a perfect score and the reason it wasn't perfect is because the Desk staff were rude and short with Me and other Customers but only the 1 person and maybe they were having a bad day. The food in the restaurant was amazing. I had the bread pudding French toast they take the bread pudding and make French toast out of it with pears and strawberries on it, And it was phenomenal. Also for dinner, I had the elk and pork Ragu, and that was phenomenal too. It was just amazing food all the way around my wife had meatloaf. And my father had the same as I did. But for breakfast, my father had the Denver omelet and he said it was the best, Denver omlet he's ever had. A++ Food and A- cause some of the staff were lazy and rude but for the most part, they were great ......

We have been staying at Heathman for nearly 20 years when we visit family in Portland. It is always a beautiful stay, good restaurant and easy access to the freeway and Portland.

As far as the gym and spa, we didn’t get a chance to explore but I’m pretty sure that it’s nice and clean based on the facility and staff

The reason for my 3 star staff review is that when we left at 6:30am, the front desk person was far from hospitable and helpful. It was disappointing, but won’t keep us from coming back!

We've stayed at the Heathman when visiting family in the area, and it is our favorite place to stay. This trip we upgraded to a deluxe King room for a small amount, and loved it! A comfortable king bed, full sized sofa, and a balcony.... I was sad we were only staying for one night it was such a nice room.

Beautiful hotel and lobby 😍, room was perfect. Just maybe more towels in the room, especially when 2 people have one towel each. The restaurant is another story. I ordered breakfast for 2 at the Hudson restaurant stated on my receipt for the two egg breakfast that in the description they make it over medium. When I went to pickup them, I was first told that they didn't know how I wanted the eggs done, tried calling me, which there was no calls. Then I thought they'd call my room? The waitress was focused on my eggs that she redid my order to 2 eggs and French toast. I had to remind her with my original order receipt. The way it was handled after waiting 45 minutes due to I assumed forgot about my order and not taking ownership. Hearing the waitress complaining about me, I said something about waiting until I left to do that, she wanted to confront me until a another lady took over and apologized just taking care of my order, ended up comping my order. Food was good and the eggs, really runny or over well. By that point I was hangry, my point is I have been in this industry and had more expectations. The way this young lady handled it, had me thinking that being on the front of the restaurant may not be good for her. Just solve the issue at hand instead of arguing with the customer concerns and take some ownership and just make the customer happy. And to wait until the customer leaves or go in the back to talk bad about the customer. I'd like to stay again but this makes me ?

The Heathman Lodge has every amenity that any traveler loves to see. The restaurant at Heathman is out of this world. Great menu served exactly the way you would like it. The sauna is great. The hot tub is wonderful and swimming is excellent. The weight room has everything that a person could ever want when I come back to Vancouver. I am definitely staying at Heathman barn. They are better than Marriott, Hampton Inn, or Hilton. The customer service surpasses any and all hotels.

We were just passing through and this place looked perfect. When we were walking to our room we really enjoyed the nature sounds in the halls. The log features were beautiful. Very cozy place. Wish we could have stayed another night, or two.

The room was good, but the mattress could use replacement - sags a little. Not great water pressure. The gym only had one treadmill, which was broken. The front desk offered day passes to the gold's gym in the mall across the way. I took my mom to the restaurant - very fancy! No vegetarian protein available on the dinner menu (unless you count cheese). I had the pasta and my mom had the salmon and we both loved the dishes.

The hot tub was nice, it wasn’t too much people using. I have a great time to relax. However, they charge additional $15 for the facility fee per day.

Everyone on staff that I encountered was absolutely friendly, respectful and seemed to truly enjoy their work, this is not a quality I encounter often these days at hotels. The property was squeaky clean, the restaurant was a cut above, as was the bartender who made some of the finest cocktails I've had in some time. That said, the property shows a lot of deferred maintenance, such as damaged light fixtures, banged-up woodwork, guestroom drapes that hang off the track, mismatched table lamps and sloppy paint jobs. Finally, my own pet peeve - the guest room toilets, while functioning fine, were the commercial type that you would see at the airport or a bus station, with no lid over the seat - seriously? Twice, I had items fall off the shelf into the toilet bowl.

The only thing that wasnt good was the smoke detector started to chirp when we were sleeping. The room phone didn't work so had to call them on our cell phone. We were put on hold and then told someone would be right up...45 minutes later we finally had someone that could put a new battery in. Wide awake now.

The property/ building was beautiful and very well maintained. Check-in was simple, the staff as genuinely friendly and welcoming. Hudson's bar was gorgeous and, again, the staff were freindly and engaging. No less, the restaurant food and service were a hit with us.

We were kept up late and woken up early to slamming doors. Hot tub was full of kids until close. Bar had limited seating and never had an opening ended up in lobby on couch having drink.

Updated furnishings carpets, bedding ( no comforter just sheet and thin blanket , no spares in any drawers , charged me 25 bucks to check in after 3pm, was told on phone on way into town if we waited till after 3pm , no extra fee!

Fun hotel decor comfortable room

Room was well laid out and spotless! Loved the decor. Only thing missing in my room was tea. Not everyone drinks coffee ☕. But, I can't complain as I'm sure if I asked they would make sure to have it available. Thanks again! Can't wait to come back.

I loved my stay at Heathman Lodge. It was amazing. The staff was beyond professional went above and beyond. The food was amazing. The fireplace was warm. The beds were so comfortable. I even extended my stay and stayed another night. I just love this place. I can’t wait to come back and they had free, hot chocolate unlimited. It was so healing. It was like being wrapped in a warm blanket the entire time extremely clean professional courteous, five star stars.

My room had an overwhelming paint smell. I kept the window open the entire time I was there but the smell was nauseating.

We stayed for state cheer. Staff was super nice, elevator closest to our room was down which was not ideal. Room heat was really loud and hard to sleep. Otherwise was clean and a nice comfortable hotel.

Would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean and I loved the comfy bed! The Hudson grill was an added bonus so could grab some good food or cocktails without leaving the hotel!

Wonderfully charming, Pacific Northwest inspired lodging, convenient to businesses, restaurants and shopping. Well appointed, clean and comfortable, with fabulous customer service. We truly enjoyed our stay, and all the little extras that the lodge did to make us feel welcome. Be sure to try the complementary hot apple cider and hot chocolate available at the front desk. Would highly recommend and definitely would stay again.

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable. I was surprised that they room service had to be ordered and scheduled. Guess I haven't been out much since COVID. But to us old-timers it seems cheap! Restaurant was OK but they were remodeling the floor and it looked like a construction zone.

Our room was meh. There was a large wall with some holes in it where artwork USED to be … front desk explained we were just in a room that was being prepared for repainting. Hmmm. That wasn’t what I paid the big bucks for. Small room with sofa so big there was no room for a reading lamp by it. So.

We live in Portland and traveled across the river to enjoy the pool and amenities. They did not disappoint! Love the lodge feel and the sounds of wildlife playing quietly over the hallway speakers. My kids absolutely loved it and are already begging to return.

Bathroom was not well cleaned or maintained--we found clumps of hair in the shower and the bathroom sink drained very slowly.

Wonderful place to stay. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Well lit parking lot and very friendly staff. We’d give it a five, but we were unimpressed with the restaurant. The food was overpriced and lukewarm at best. Would definitely stay at this hotel again, but eat somewhere else.

The room and hotel are clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were well maintained and I liked that they had a bathroom in the pool area. We did not have breakfast due to daily obligations outside of the hotel so I cannot comment on that.

We don’t eat breakfast here. It was too expensive for breakfast. The parking was just fine. Plenty of space.

It was a good trip we got 2 rooms for one night. Clean rooms. Staff was very friendly. Pool was small but clean and adequate. The resort itself was cute and rustic. The only complaint is that the rooms had no USB chargers in them. I feel like I actually haven’t been in a hotel without USB chargers for quite a while. They are usually in the outlets or I have even seen them at the base of lamps and nightstands ..but there were none.

I’ve stayed here many times and it’s in decline. The beds are now incredibly lumpy and the pillows are overstuffed making for a miserable night of sleep. The bathrooms show mold and are in need of a deep clean. The rooms that face the highway are very loud. So loud I checked multiple times to make sure a window wasn’t open.

Courteous staff

Room was spotless! We stay at this property every time we come into Vancouver. The pool, hot tub and sauna were great! The staff at the onsite restaurant, Hudson’s, were absolutely amazing!! The only issue we had was not receiving the advertised Expedia VIP Gold perk for a room upgrade or early check in. (Both were confirmed available by hotel). We did receive the complimentary bottle of wine.

The bar closes at 10pm I arrived at 9:40 and they were already doing last call. Heathman is the only hotel I stay in that closes the bar at 10 . I work for a living and travel extensively hard to arrive at hotels u til 8-9 range. I’ve stayed at Heathman probably 12 times this year, sad I have to check in then go to red lobster down the street for dinner. Your missing out on a lot of revenue

We did not receive a free bottle of sparkling wine, which would have been nice - should have requested it. We did not have our room serviced, which I would prefer except I did want coffee pods replenished. All in all, I would recommend this place, and will stay here again without hesitation if I need to be in the area.

Staying at Heathman Lodge was wonderful! Location is superb, facility is clean and well-maintained, parking is easy, and staff is courteous. It must be hard to maintain a "rustic" lodge vibe and yet modern and clean. We will be back for more stays!

Check in was prompt and courteous (even though it was Christmas Eve). We had our choice of floors 2, 3, or 4. Breakfast is available at Hudson's restaurant (but there is no complimentary breakfast).

I have always enjoyed staying at the Heathman but if they are going to advertise that you get a bottle of sparkling wine/cider with your room they really should provide it and they don’t.

The beds were not made when we checked in. We were given mattress pads instead of fitted sheets. The room has a body odor smell to it, no it wasn't us. The mattress pad we had was covered in human hair, not ours. There were no pillow cases, just pillows in their casings. The staff

This hotel is fantastic! Beautiful and unlike the ordinary. Even bird tweeting in the hallways. Breakfast not included but great breakfast options at reasonable price in the lovely restaurant. Especially nice as we stayed during Christmas season and it was decorated beautifully.

Everything was amazing: Food, service, cleanliness etc.. The only thing I would request is better & handheld shower heads. The existing ones are drizzly at best so it's hard to rinse thoroughly thus a shower takes twice as long as it should.

I stayed in room #401. It was filthy! There was dirt on several of the tables, toothpaste and dried puddles of ?? On the bathroom counter. I was afraid to get in the shower, not knowing what I might catch, given the state of the rest of the room. I have stayed here before, but will never come back. Be warned!

The property is very nice, and the restaurant is excellent. However we were told that if we did not order room service or change food to our room at the restaurant we would not be charged any additional fees. However we were charged $15 dollars per day plus tax for a facilities fees.

The room needs to be updated! I love the decor and the overall feel of the Heathman Lodge, but the couch was peeling, and the room felt old. I hope that they take the time to update the rooms, as the Heathman Lodge is a beautiful place.

We stayed at the Heathman in two rooms on thanksgiving. We arrived about 8pm with a tired baby. My check in was not pleasant. The front desk supervisor checked us in. When I went to swipe my card I mentioned this was only for one room and there should be a second room as well. Her response was “oh, well you didn’t tell me that.” It was rude but we were beyond tired. After we received our keys my husband ran back in to get a luggage cart and was told there wasn’t one available because they were being used to move tables, but they would get one for him. I went inside the lobby to wait with the baby and the luggage while I waited. No luggage cart came. The lobby was almost completely empty. There were about 10-15 staff members joking and hanging out in the lobby area. After about 15 minutes with no sign of a luggage cart I proceeded to find someone on the other side of the stairs to ask about it. We packed up everything and as we proceeded to the elevators I had to ask a group of employees to move. We got to our rooms to realize the rooms had double beds instead of queens. The following morning my sister let me know she checked out but her room was dirty. She didn’t realize until middle of the night. There was still garbage in cans and the soap had been used. She let the front desk know and they said they could take the cleaning fee off.

Really. They feel entitled to charge that. Never again.

This lodge is very cozy and we enjoyed our winter stay. The Heathman Lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas and even had a cute little ginger bread house contest for local artists. Our room was very spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the welcome gift upon arrival!

Room was clean and organized. The bed was a little hard, but manageable. Shower was great with good pressure, and they offer free soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. They also have a fridge, and coffee maker. Check in and check in were smooth with very helpful and courteous associates. We also ate dinner at Hudsons and the meal and service were fantastic.

My room was clean and spotless. I love the warm feel of the Northwest decor. I have visited the Heathman for Mothers' day brunches, but never lodged there visiting over a holiday like Thanksgiving.

Room is clean with good amenities. I like the balcony being on the top floor. The food at the restaurant is quite good. Staff are courteous. I also like the lobby, it's quite different from all the hotels I have stayed in. Thr fixtures in the room need better maintence though, i.e. loose drawer handle, towel rail and toilet roll holder. Otherwise it's been an enjoyable stay. Will come back again if I'm heading this way

Staff was friendly enough, but the furnishings were basic, the bed was uncomfortable, and the cleanliness of the room left a bit to be desired.

Only negative was the shower. Soap/shampoo dispensers were placed in such a manner as to make an already cramped shower even more so.

I love the Heathman! It’s always my first choice when staying in the Vancouver/Portland area. I always feel safe, the staff is wonderful, and the hotel is clean and comfortable. My family loves the pool and we love the on-site restaurant, Hudson’s!

Friendly staff and comfortable room

Breakfast was open too late for people who are working and have to leave before the start. Parking was full most nights at the hotel.

On check in the staff was super friendly and got me set up in a room on the 4th floor which was amazing. The room was very clean and worked really well for my weekend away from home. The pool area is somewhat crowded, but given that it's the weekend before Thanksgiving that was to be expected. Hot tub was still very hot and very nice.

Restaurant, Hudsons, was excellent. Hotel staff was excellent. Guestroom could use some cosmetic maintenance.

Very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The woodsy room decor is much better than the usual sterile hotel theme. Even on a Saturday night it was quiet and we slept well.

We stayed one night on our way to the Oregon coast…and really liked the hotel! The room #455 was nice, big, clean room and bathroom. The property was really beautiful place…easy to find from the freeway…close to many restaurants and shopping. They had a restaurant but didn’t try it…nice option though. They had sounds of birds chirping throughout the hallways…we enjoyed it. We needed some forms printed out from our email and the front desk staff was very helpful in doing that for us…we really appreciated it! We would definitely stay again!!

We love this hotel. It's perfect for the family and close to everything we could ever need.

Room was clean amd quite. Restaurant was so very understaffed that we had to give up waiting for service and we just left after being at the table for 20 mins without anyone to even offer water let alone take our order. And we weren't the only ones looking around for a waiter either, a good 6-7 other tables had menus, but no service.

At last a hotel for travelers with great food and drinks and a festive, ski resort like atmosphere. Some decor a little dated but otherwise this is a gem!

The room given to me was not prepared. Trash was taken out but bed was not made, found a blanket on a chair and a pillow and went to sleep, rather than ask for another room at that late hour. No towels, sink was not cleaned. At that point, i just needed to rest and depart ny 7 am next morning.

Was extremely disappointed. Drain was clogged when we got there; the hotel’s soft water conditioning system is extremely high so you can’t drink the water, wash hands without it creating a lotion type coating, same with showering, beds extremely firm. Hotel phones don’t work. No daily refresh of room, which caused 6 days of trash to pile up. When I asked them for a room refresh on the third day, staff told me they don’t do that on Sunday. Room service not available unless you order down at the restaurant and wait, they the will automatically still add a 20% gratuity.

The soda machine on the third floor did not work properly and took $2.50 from me. I went to the front desk and reported the issue and grabbed a soda from your store. Your front desk clerk wanted me to pay for the soda. I said no way and that was the end of it. Not very good service and you still owe me $2.50. it is a shame to lose customers over $2.50 rip off.

Nice place, cheap visit

The property is very nice- have stayed here many times. The restaurant is great and our server was beyond stellar. We have been lucky enough to have her as our server many times and she exceeds all expectations. The only issue that concerned me was a $25 early check-in fee -if we had waited another hour, we wouldn’t of had to pay it, but we were anxious to check in. that seems like a very superfluous charge and I would suggest rethinking that policy.

This is a wonderful place. But this time our room was next to someone that opened and slammed the door over and over. It started at 7:30 am and didn’t stop… Sleeping was horrible! Unfortunately I will request stay as far away from people as possible.

This place was so cute and had a lodge feel. The staff was excellent, the facilities were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

The worse thing was the chirping in the hallway

We had to call for help to stop the shower from running. The valve seems to need replacing. A lot of electrical noise from outside the building made it hard to sleep. No free breakfast. Talk about a psyche!

The room was clean, super clean. Felt really safe and comfortable. I loved the chirping bird sounds in the hallway. I didn’t get the bottle of sparkling wine, but I also forgot to ask, partially my fault. Over all 9.5 out 10. Ohh and the beds were most excellent.

Room was very spacious and clean. Everyone was kind and helpful. However the Tv streaming services did not and the pool was not heated. Overall everything else was great.

The Heathman has always been well maintained and clean. Rooms are very large, amenities like USBs in the rooms were lacking. The style of the room is mountain-lodge, so it doesn’t go out of style.

In addition, it is not posted that the room is only cleaned upon request. I made a request at the front counter for the room to be made up on the morning of the third day. The room was not cleaned and the nearly empty shampoo/soap/lotion were not refilled during my stay.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and parking was very easy. The room seemed to be in need of repairs. The faucet on the sink was very loose and the sink wouldn’t drain properly. The bed was like sleeping on a piece of plywood. It was so very hard. We ate at the restaurant our first night. It was nice but pretty pricey for the food they offered. There were signs all over the place showing scallops and calamari but neither were on the menu, what a disappointment. The one thing we found extremely annoying was the bird noise in the hallway. It serves no purpose and was just silly

Heathman is old school friendly, fair priced, comfy beds & large, quiet rooms. We have alot of family in the area & always enjoy our stay & take in the ambiance, great service & food in the restaurant.

The Heathman is always my first choice when staying in Vancouver. It’s always clean, quiet, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is delicious.

Once in my room, it was okay - dated. It had poor sink drainage, sofa had food crumbs on it, at times it smelled musty and there wasn’t a “brochure” giving me information about the restaurant, fitness/swimming pool hours, etc. I doubt I will be back, which is unfortunate. On a positive note - outside of the ONE rude staffer, the others were wonderful/helpful/friendly and the Koi pond was a bonus.

My only suggestion would be to finish painting the room or update the walls/wallpaper. There weren’t any art pieces on the walls—just some holes where decorations used to be. That said, it was a minor detail that didn’t affect my stay. Keep up the great work!

This is a really nice hotel. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. The shower was large. The restroom had a sink outside of the toilet/shower area which made it nice for two people in the room. The hotel is across the street from the Vancouver Mall so very convenient.

This is an older hotel. It is not an old hotel. My daughter and I felt safe. The staff was very nice. The room was clean and nice. The hotel is set back and feels like it’s in the woods. But you are close to shopping and restaurants.

Wow, I just love staying at the Heathman. The front desk is always friendly and helpful; the restaurant staff at Hudsons is similarly friendly; and the rooms are very clean. Parking is easy and plentiful and I always feel safe when I stay there.

I loved the birds singing in the hallway. It felt like we were in the forest. Staff was great. I liked the restaurant as it was very convenient. The water pressure in the shower was extremly low. It was difficult to wash all the soap off. Not sure if this was an environmental thing or just bad plumbing. I would think Washington has plenty of water. So if you don't need to shower it's a 5. But, if you need to shower, depending on your level of B.O., it is rated a bit lower.

It was a great place to stay.

Very friendly staff upon check in, nice size room and bathroom. No breakfast included, yet the coffee was good in the room. While I loved the overall feel of the place, the outlets were not updated with enough outlets in light fixtures or the wall by the bed.

The room was a good size and clean. It would have received five stars but had to reduce by a star because of a piece of floss I found. I also think the halls were really long and because I had a room that was to the far corner, I was especially cautious going to and from my room because I'm a single woman in an unfamiliar place. But I liked the comfortable king size bed and the sizable walk-in shower.

I stayed here twice within 4 days. It was very nice however on the 2nd visit, the bathroom sink appeared to have shaving whiskers as if the cleaning crew did not clean the sink. I did inform the front desk and they apologized

I stayed here twice within 3 days. The second time the bathroom sink was dirty with what appeared to be from someone shaving. I really like the hotel and would stay there again if in the area. Beautiful hotel. Nice pool and hot tub. The restaurant and bar are very nice, though expect to pay $80-100 for two entrees and drinks plus tip. The free espresso machine in the lobby is a nice touch too. The rooms are large and comfortable with very nice bathrooms.

Outdoor appeal

When we got to our room, there was a dirty used washcloth hanging behind the bathroom door. When I notified the front desk, there was no offer to come and collect the dirty object. The lodge is also clearly becoming rundown and has seen better days.

I was told by front desk that I could check in early, but would need to call back in the morning to let them know. Talked with a new person that said that was not the case. The new person was rude on the phone and did not care about my desire to check in early. Overall rude interactions. Also, the jets in the hot tub didn’t work.

We have been staying here for decades. It is clean, convenient and we know what to expect.

This is a lovely property! It was our third time staying here. Rooms are large, nicely decorated and we love the rustic feel of this place. If we're ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here.

Support for needs of our conference participants was exceptional

All of the staff were extremely friendly! We stayed for our anniversary and they were nice enough to give us a bottle of wine and upgrade our room to celebrate! Even wrote a nice card to us. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub!

It was a nice, clean and convenient place to stay. My daughter and I felt safe. We’ve stayed at other places near by and didn’t feel safe.

Staff were fabulous- hotel a delight. We’ll be back!

Unique and nice restaurant

Only area that needs improvement is access to luggage cart. Both checking in and out. Nobody can find the carts.

It was conveniently located, good food nice pool.

Last minute travel problems prevented us from staying there. After multiple communications received no refund and no credit.

Overall it was not a bad stay, bird chirps down the hallway was surprisingly relaxing. The room was very basic and could use an update. The main detractors where the main entry way has been converted to a venue/dining area. It was inconvenient for check in and somewhat confusing. The other issue is their charging ports. They have 4 Tesla ports but only 2 J1772 ports, unlike some other hotels they don’t carry adapters. Please plan ahead if you expect to be able to charge your vehicle.

The balcony was very dusty. The property feature also stated there’s a free bottle of sparkling wine per stay but there was none. Not even a water bottle in the room. There were 3 of us but there were only 2 towels.

My favorite place to stay in the Portland/Vancouver area. Affordable and comfortable. Close to restaurants and shopping.

Front staff was super friendly and the hotel was clean. Loved the cabin feel to the rooms! 10/10 would stay again!

We made this trip for our anniversary to the other side of the country and the staff made sure we felt welcome! Our room was phenomenal and they went above and beyond to make it special for us- even a gift basket and hand written note! Our room was clean, homey, and so quiet. The lodge truly is a gem and the best place we've ever stayed. We will be back on our next West Coast visit!

This was a quick trip to see friends in Portland. Loved the coziness of the Heathman Lodge, and appreciated the helpful staff and the comfortable room. Nice restaurant too. Will stay here again. Bonus: the birdsong in the hallways, which was both amusing & soothing.

Both experiences with checking in and out amazing. Got a coffee in the morning and receptionist was so helpful in recommendations. Told all our friends to just drive down and spend a weekend. Stay and eat at Hudson

It was amazing. I had read some reviews that were not good but we found it very nice. Also the resturant was goid and the pool relaxing. We will come back

Clean, nice comfy beds

The property was beautiful. I loved the outdoor porch. I felt like I was staying in a forest with the rustic wood features and lovely birds chirping.

We have stayed at the Lodge several times and will control return again and again. It is a convenient spot for us when we visit Vancouver. The desk attendants are always welcoming. The restaurant is top tier!! The wait staff is the restaurant is superb. I can’t say enough good things about Heathman Lodge!

Beautiful place to stay

Amazing place!

Couple of things I didn’t love so much: I forgot my dress in the closet and they charged me almost $20 to send it back to me. 😕 There was free gourmet espresso coffee & tea, but it was behind the front desk so we always had to wait in line to request it. On the day of checkout, but clearly before checkout time, I was taking my bags down to the car, and I noted the cleaning staff were already in the room cleaning before I had formally checked out! (Probably why I got flustered and forgot my dress!) I left my purse and several other bags so it was very clear that I had not officially left the room. It could’ve been a simple mistake on their part, but they did not apologize or even acknowledge it. Strange & awkward situation altogether. Lastly, the email correspondence is nil with this particular hotel. We had a 4-day reservation. I tried several times to add on another day via email, but none of my emails are responded to. I finally just gave up and stayed at another hotel for that added night. But it was cheaper anyway.

Very nice staff. we only stayed for one night but since a booked through Expedia we received a free bottle of wine. They were quick an efficient and made the stay enjoyable. Room was extremely clean and very cute and spacious. we will definitely be staying here again!

The property is nice and well located. But we were VIP and they didn’t provide any special items for us as promised. And we were charged a facility fee that was not indicated in the charge of the stay on Expedia.
