The parking pass was included in my chosen Expedia option but would have been $15 a night otherwise. There is a large underground parking level protected from weather and felt secure.

Hotel was clean the only reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars was they had parts of the ceiling open like they were fixing something. Our door key entry was a little loose and a little difficult to open. But overall everything was good, great breakfast and nice staff, clean rooms.

Gym was not the best

My husband enjoys using the gym during our visits. The location is convenient and makes it easy to get around the area. Because the hotel is near the highway, there can be some traffic noise, but with earplugs, it was not a problem for us.

Room was clean and well organized; everything worked. Nice lobby and outdoor area, decent free breakfast. Coffee and tea available 24/7. Far from downtown, though convenient to freeways. The hot tub was not hot enough to be a true hot tub. Breakfast could have offered higher quality breads.

Very little WiFi signal which made it impossible to get anything done. The orange juice tasted like water. The bathtub would not drain water so I was just standing in a big puddle the whole time I was showering. Loud noise when I was trying to sleep.

The room was not clean. First thing we heard was the toilet running/flashing continuously. Call and went to front desk report the problem. The maintenance guy came to fix it. After he left the problem continues. We noticed the chains to the flipper in the toilet was broken. Every time the toilet get flashed the water continues running. The toilet runs all night. Breakfast was only egg and sausage. Sausage was not cook. My kid got sick after breakfast. Staffs wasn’t friendly or useful.

The elevator for our section of the property was not working. Additionally, maintenance had to come up to our room to fix the grainy picture on the television. The taller gentleman from the front desk was extremely helpful though!!

Elevator stopped working.

The main elevator was broken all 5 days of my stay and I had to use an elevator down the hall, which was challenging because I had to carry heavy boxes and bags each night. Love the staff but PLEASE change the items you serve at least 2x a year.

This holiday inn is in resident area and is very quiet, decent lobby with high ceiling and bean wood. very good amenities. The receptionist was very friendly and considerate.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable, complimentary breakfast was mediocre & cold. Same dishes served the entire stay. Cleaning staff didn’t speak English. For a 2 story building a key card had to be used in the elevator to access the 2nd floor. The card reader didn’t work & I had to take the stairs to get to my room. Room card wasn’t required to access stairs. I will not stay here again.

The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the parking was very convenient. The location made it easy to access the highway, which was a big plus. Breakfast was just okay—nothing special, but it did the job.

The breakfast looked good. It is typical hotel breakfast. They offered reasonable selections. I have seen worst in other hotels. I wish we did not have to pay for parking though. This is something new the hotels are doing which is very annoying.

The landscaping was notable. The location is right next to freeway, but because of the layout of the property and the thoughtful landscaping, it felt like an oasis. There is a very nice patio centered within the property that creates an oasis effect. I will be back. Parking is underground with an elevator and breakfast ends at 9:30.

This property was not at an acceptable standard for Holiday Inn Express. I also had issues with the tub not draining, called it in twice and it was never fixed. Staff was less than helpful and rude when I checked out.

At the front desk, Tom was excellent. Very helpful and acted like a concerned “Innkeeper”. The property is very centrally located with good fast food options nearby. The breakfast included was fantastic, not your usual granola bars and oatmeal options! Unfortunately, the property is showing its age. Hallway walls had damaged walls, slow elevators, leaking pipes in the garage. My room was on the exterior wall and both street noise and noise from the nearby 24 hour restaurant was constant. Suggest you look for a courtyard view room to lessen the noise.

Brianna & Tom went above and beyond. From a staff standpoint, my experience was amazing. The room was not super clean, stains on mirrors and stained shower curtain, but the room had a great offering of amenities. Did not love how the elevator was finicky, or that I constantly found myself getting lost on the second floor, but that is the structure of the property and nothing to do with staff or the specifics of IHg WC. Breakfast was wonderful. Special thank you to Brianna and Tom for everything!!!

The problem we had was the beds didn’t feel like queen sized beds. We didn’t have television access since the network was down and they offered us to move rooms but having two children and asking the to pack everything up at 8pm is a bad ideas. There was no maintenance person to help with the issue so we just watched something on an iPad.

We had a great experience at this hotel! The person we met at check in was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was good, with lots of choices. The folks working it were absolutely lovely! Parking was an additional charge and a bit tricky because of construction, but workable. Overall, it was a great hotel and we would definitely stay there again!😁

There was machine sound at night. Called the front desk. They did not care.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, they had a modest but more than continental buffet breakfast. Their pool was open and lightly heated, kids had a blast swimming! We did have a cockroach in our bathroom, but the hotel is right located among many fast food restaurants and places to eat- so not surprised? It was clean besides that. Our bed did have a weird stain on the mattress but towards the bottom edge of it… didn’t really bother us too much. Maybe a spill??

Get to my room and there is a problem with the door key , had front desk come up and let me in my room. Turned on TV, realize there is no guide to use and the one on the TV does not have the regular broadcast channels. Had to go down and get a printed list to figure TV channels. Got to sleep and in 2 or so hours the mini fridge woke me up with a guess a bad compressor or something. Anyway turned it off fell asleep. Got up at 6:30 went downstairs and got some coffee, brought to elevator and cannot get the card to work. Gor front desk to let me go up to my room so I could leave. All this fun and they had the nerve to charge me 261.00. Will NEVER come here again.

I would give it a an unqualified five stars but for the Excessive daily parking charge which they quintupled from my last stay only a few months ago (from $10 per day to $50 per day). The only explanation was that it was market pricing!

The couple of drawbacks: The elevator card key deactivated multiple times and the bath and pool towels are scratchy. We arranged for daily room "refresh" and only had housekeeping one day when we followed up in the morning.

What made the stay was the staff. So wonderful, from the front desk person to those working around the hotel. Good location. Clean property. Room was a little small but good for me, my daughter and her baby. Lots of stuff around.

The only elevator was out of order and when it does work it's clunky. The bathroom vents were dusty. If you face the Chick Fila side, you will hear the fitness center recording play all night long. Would not stay here again.

The room was very clean and the bed was so cozy with very nice linen and down pillows and comforter. TV and internet were fine. We liked the ability to control the temperature in the room by adjusting the thermostat. The free parking in a garage on the premises. The staff made our stay very good by being able to meet all our needs. They were efficient, warm and friendly.

The check in process was good and friendly staff however as soon as we stepped into the hallway and room we became aware of a terrible smell. It was a mix of moldy, stale, smoke and made me nauseous. (It is advertised as a non-smoking property). We immediately went back to reception to let them know and we had to cancel our stay and find alternate accomodation. I would not recommend this property at all.

Staff were adequate. The rating was incorrect from the website. It was old hotel that tried to renovate but failed. Parking garage was dirty and trash everywhere. I wouldn’t rate this hotel more than 7 or below.

Room was a bit wonky though, the bathroom door was too close to one of the beds in the room. Making it difficult to open without bothering the person in the bed next to the bathroom.

While the room was large and comfortable, with a great bed, it was loud being next to the highway. I needed to work, so it was frustrating to have spotty wi-fi. Had to use the hot spot on my phone. Front desk said it was because the hotel was full. Would expect better internet in Silicon Valley. Breakfast was good, but they kept running out of food, so be prepared.

The room was clean. The staff was friendly. Parking was available but a little confusing. Evidently the parking garage is approached on a driveway that is used by other companies in the area. I was almost flattened by a pickup rushing the 'other way' on the driveway at about closing time on Friday. Not sure what can be done by that, except maybe asking those working in businesses close to the hotel to please go through this area slowly because people who are not really familiar with this entry to the parking garage are trying to find the parking garage entrance and not paying attention to those rushing in the opposite direction.

I appreciate the help with an early check in. Signed up for hotel membership quickly and effortlessly. Great room, quiet, comfortable, clean. Tasty breakfast and coffee. The counter for the coffee machines and basket for stirrers needed cleaning more often. The button for level one in the elevator was not working. Had to go up and down a couple of times to reach the lobby. All in all, the room was great and I would book again with Holiday Inn Walnut Creek.

It is an amazing place. Would def stay here again and would recommend to family amd friends.

The only real downside was the bathroom. The sink faucet was loose and rotated with the handle making it hard to use. And more critically, the shower was unbelievable strong. It felt like my skin was being peeled off by a pressure washer. The air blowing from the shower head felt like a hurricane. Water was flying all around the bathroom. 10/10 for cleaning purposes, but terrifying also.

Check-in was smooth, and they even let me check in at 11:00 since rooms were available. The room was spacious, clean, and well-laid out. I especially appreciated the fridge and microwave area right inside the door, with counter space perfect for setting down your belongings. The bed was on the firmer side for me, but still comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and stocked with nice Dove amenities. Parking is convenient, though at an extra cost. The property is very close to the freeway, which makes it easy to get around—though you can hear passing cars in the distance, but wasn't loud. Overall, if you want a budget-friendly stay without compromising on quality, this is a solid choice.

The lobby was fresh and clean. The room had 2 working USB ports and 4 broken ones. The room smelled stale. We turned on the air-conditionor which helped but didn't get rid of the smell. They have a homeless problem. I was happy to know the parking was underground. When the alarm sounded for the property next door, I went downstairs and voiced my concern. He told me they only have Chick-fil-A and a gym next door (lie). Then he went on to say they have an all night security. Is that another lie? My car was fine. I won't be back.

I stayed there for a week, it was absolutely wonderful! The staff is incredibly helpful they are always asking if you need something, if they can do something for you, they help with everything and that includes the cafeteria staff! Even the janitors helped, I needed some stuff but in the back of my vehicle a jazzy for my husband to sort of a electronic vehicle for him to get around after back surgery which he stayed in the hospital I stayed at the hotel. We checked out a day early, because the bed was too hard for him on his back but that has nothing to do with the hotel and their beds! Very clean, love the decor very updated! I only had one little gripe, and that is that there's not an ice maker on the bottom floor. We stayed in the wheelchair room which was perfectly accessible for my husband. And the breakfast is outstanding! They go above and beyond. The only thing I wish they had was more bananas or hard-boiled eggs when they run out I guess they run out because I asked and they didn't have anymore. But that's minor. I check in process was extremely fast and I absolutely adore the lady who checked me in I forget her name! That she is the best she has been there for the last three times I was there at the hotel I stayed three times now. But she has checked me in every time. The manager she's outstanding I love her personality.

Some notes: The $15 for parking is not listed anywhere on the website. That was an unexpected cost that I didn't mind paying in the grand scheme of things but would have liked to have known that when deciding on what hotel to stay at in the area. The internet was REALLY slow. I booked a hotel room for the purpose of having some "me time" with the goal of binge watching shows and getting a good night sleep. I could not watch any of my shows (or do any of my work) because the internet was so slow. The $50 holding fee got charged to my card twice. The person at the front desk just said "I'll have someone handle it Monday" but the charge is still on my card and I haven't heard back from anyone about it....

The whole staff is awesome. I will be going back and staying another week as I have another slot located with you guys to stay again. The entire staff, the janitors, the security, the rooms, the facilities and the breakfast is amazing! Everybody was so kind and so thoughtful! They even upgraded our room closer to the front of the lobby for easy access for my husband into a handicap room with his a hard time walking. So yes everything went super fantastic thank you Holiday Inn Express Walnut Creek we'll see you again on August 3rd!

Access off & on I-680 was great. Being on the ground floor, foot traffic and furniture movement in room above was noticeable, especially at 4 AM. For us senior folks, toilets with a higher seat level would be appreciated. The fruit droppings on the exterior walkways ought to be cleaned up. They are a hazard & mess to walk through. The Staff was great, friendly and efficient.

You get what you pay for. The carpeting throughout is in need of a deep cleaning. We were very concerned that the access door from the parking lot was not locked. Our room key was not necessary to open the door. Another guest mentioned it doesn’t lock. The bathtub in our room was not clean. The front desk accommodated us without question with a new room. In summary, the staff is courteous and responsive but the cleanliness and security were sorely lacking.

The front desk person was very personable. Friendly and informative. She seemed to actually care about our stay and wanted it to be an enjoyable and comfortable experience. I did not get her name but I will definitely won't hesitate to book again next time I'm in Walnut Grove area. The only negative thing was such a small toilet for a bigger guy like myself.

We stayed just one night during our trip from Orange County to Walnut Creek for a basketball tournament at Saint Mary’s in Moraga, and everything was excellent. The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming, and the housekeeping team was just as friendly and helpful. Great service all around—I definitely recommend staying here!

This was my first stay here and my first night was pretty bad due to the room I was given and the amount of road noise. Thankfully, they moved me to the other corridor to a much quieter room. I was a bit surprised that you must request to have your room cleaned/refreshed. Overall I was surprised at the cost per night versus the amenities or lack thereof. I also had to pay $15 to park in their garage.

Hotel was older with updates but still showed signs of age. Easy and friendly check-in. Nice overall public space updates. Stayed in a double room. Air conditioning worked well and bed was comfortable. But the room had thin walls/doors that allowed sound transfer to/from hallway. Room smelled musty probably because the carpet was old. Room had basic amenities but the water pressure flow was very high. Should probably upgrade toilet and shower head to make them more waterwise. Free breakfast was basic but free. Parking was easy but not free. Overall stay was expected for the price. Would consider staying here again.

Parking was kind of annoying and had issues with checking in

And then the surprise bummer: parking is $15.00 and is underground. Desk assured me it was patrolled regularly but I’ll tell you the garage is a confusing maze of compact car only spots or reserved for frequent users so by the time I parked I was on the opposite end from where my room was (eventually) located. I think in the dark it might be intimidating for solo female travelers. It’s a sketchy looking garage. Listen, this isn’t a deluxe hotel. It’s not a destination city. Free parking, especially given guests have to park underground, find the elevator and walk walk walk to find their room, isn’t too much to ask. My room however was great. Comfortable bed, neat as a pin, soundproof and miracle of miracles, no airport-quality lighting in the parking lot. I want the room DARK when I turn out the lights and the normal outdoor lighting was pleasant. I’m not landing a plane here, I don’t need lighting too bright. It was very nice. I’d stay there again.

This was a last minute stay. The front desk lady was nice and offered us a late check out.

The room was comfortable. The price was reasonable. The breakfast was very good. I would have liked more than one towel, washcloth and hand towel for two nights, but I didn't ask for extra. It wasn't necessary -- just would have been nice.

The only issue we had was the noise level, we could hear people walking/talking upstairs or outside of our room.

I didn't like the parking fee. I was not aware of it at the time of booking.

Representative Thom was outstanding. His personality was great, he could read his customer attitude which is unusual. Knowledge of policy was explained so the customer understood completely My opinion Thom qualifications would be better suited in a larger HI.

The staff was outstanding and super helpful. It was quiet, very clean and nice. I felt safe and relaxed the whole time!

Our stay was very pleasant. There was an issue with the door when he first got there, but they got there maintenance person up there almost immediately and resolved the problem.

Great hotel to stay at, on my top 5. Clean, close to shopping and freeway.
