Wonderful Hotel. The room was clean and very comfortable. The food at Mr. D's restaurant was excellent. I highly recommend the crab cakes. Great stay . I would definately return .

A nice enough hotel that is amazingly close to the airport and includes free airport shuttle. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some of the items in the fitness center were not super well maintained, but that’s my only Minor complaint.

The staff at both check in and check out were very friendly. We were also able to check in a little early when we arrived. The attached restaurant lived up to its reviews. They offer happy hour prices from 4:30-6:30pm on select small bar bites and great drink discounts. We drove, but it is right around the corner from the airport which is very convenient.

Staff was amazing. Have a food allergy and they were wonderful. The food was amazing too. Bar service was great and friendly! Had breakfast and supper. Room was pretty clean. Only complaint was some maintenance issues. The ceiling of the bathroom had a panel falling down. The hinge on the bathroom door was nearly fully out and the door did not shut right. Fixed that myself.

Desmond Hotel from the outside and lobby appeared immaculate. However, the hallways were noisy, and the temperature of the room could not be raised to a comfort level.

Broken elevator

There was a small pool and a moderately sized fitness room. When I booked the hotel, i was deceived into thinking it included breakfast by the website description. There were no cups in the bathroom. When I called the front desk to get some more, they said they did not know how to get any more. The luggage carrier did not have breaks and collided into my partner’s car, thereby denting the car.

This is our go to hotel to stay at when we travel to and from seeing our daughter at college. Everything is amazing, from customer service to clean and comfortable rooms to great breakfast and plenty of parking. We can’t recommend them enough!

the staff is what makes the Desmond great. Always so kind and helpful. I only downgraded one section because I am bitter about the remodel. I loved the wood counter and hate the "modern" look that is cold.

We were allowed to check in a bit early which is great when traveling from afar. Rooms clean and a nice restaurant/ bar. I do wish they had a jacuzzi but the pool was nice. Overall I would recommend this hotel

Everyone that we dealt with was extremely helpful and kind. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The shuttle drivers went above and beyond to be helpful. We also dined at the restaurant, and the food was awesome and Jada was an awesome server. We cannot say enough about this hotel. Thank you

Manager was rude and a chauvinist. Room was dirty. Was missing coffee maker. Manager put us next to the elevator and the loudest part of the hotel.

Clean room. Staff was friendly. The gym was large and spacious and well equipped. We did not use the pool. The place was very nice but parts of it seemed a little dated. But overall I would recommend it. It is VERY hard to find a nice place to stay in Albany.

It was clean. However the sheets in the bed were the wrong size. Don’t know how the cleaner didn’t know this. We had to take it off and put the top sheet down. I do have a picture needed. Hoping they can do better

Never been to a hotel where they put the water away. This place refuses to leave anything out after 10 pm. The coffee is available until 10 am only. 9:55 everything was wiped out. MIND YOU THIS IS A “fancy” hotel - but NO WATER FOR YOU AFTER 10 pm!!! I will say, there is a man (did not get his name) who worked in or managed/owned the restaurant that was one of the nicest people ever! Went out of his way to help us with plates and silverware after DoorDash forgot! He is amazing!! Most of the front desk people are ok too! One man today who was working at 7am was meh: didn’t appreciate the way he looked at me, spoke to me.. you could just tell he was one of the ones that think their poop doesn’t smell. Hate to tell ya (front desk guy at 7am on 2/17, security who was working 2/16 @ 9am and 11:30 pm) that everyone should NOT be judged by looks alone. You don’t know me but I could feel you judging me!

Location is good, restaurant in the hotel is really good. Rooms are clean. The star deduction is because the pillows kill your neck. Who can sleep on those things?! I wish they had pillow options.

The room was nice. I was there for 6 full days and I was located across from the maids quarters. They would go in and out all day and night not one time holding onto the door. Everytime it would slam!!! Then out my window was the courtyard where there was a gathering every morning and they had workers scraping tables across the floors everyday and then the chairs. That was before 6am and then the people came then I would try to get some sleep and then it would be slam and people loudly talking down the halls . What are you going to do i guess that is hotels now. I just wanted some peace and quiet. It didn't happen that is for sure. Other than that I had a comfortable bed . The bathroom could be updated. It was a bit small and quite a long walk for someone that asked not to have stairs

I have stayed previously and loved it. I found it to be disappointing this time around. There was some sort of music convention. Loud music and singing at all hours. There was a dog that kept barking in our hallway. It was clean and staff were kind. Hard to sleep with all the noise.

The website mentioned that a microwave was included, but when I asked for one, I was told I had to pay an additional $20. That was disappointing and misleading. This place feels more like an event center than a hotel — there were parties and events going on almost all day and night. The loud music and constant noise made it very hard to sleep. I had a very disturbed stay and wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet or comfortable hotel experience.

This hotel was nice. Great space and helpful, friendly staff. The only negative was that all the pillows were very overstuffed. Sometimes hotels have 2 pillows that are the same and two others that are a little different. If that was done, it would have been perfect.

I liked the hotel very much. The room was spacious and very clean. The desk clerk and airport shuttle drivers were very helpful and friendly. I would have liked to have had a microwave in my room and some better than powder creamer for my in-room coffee.

Great location to stay near the airport. Keep in mind that it’s a huge hotel with a long walk to some of the rooms. Also the parking lot wraps around the long side of the hotel and could feel kind of dark at night.

This property was located close to the Albany airport. It was clean, had friendly staff and offered the convenience of a great restaurant in the hotel lobby. Beautiful grounds with an indoor courtyard filled with plants and a koi pond. Would highly recommend.

Very convenient and great for the price for Saratoga big racing weekends. Rooms are very dated and not comfortable. You get what you pay for I guess. Close to airport, almost on the tarmac.

The restaurant on premises is nice and they service breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hotel is super is close to the highway and super convenient to everything. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully next time the room will be little bit more clean.

Really close to shopping. Even though near an airport, it was still pretty quiet.

The front desk staff had as much personality as a paper bag. They were there, but there was a lot of shoulder shrugging if you asked about the internet or anything other than checking in. When i checked out the fact that I walked up the counter rather than had my receipt emailed to me was an absolute inconvenience. It was ok but I overpaid, for sure.

I have a service dog I asked the room to be cleaned at 5am that I would be out 830-130 lunch date at 2pm. No one cleaned the room they said the dog was growling it would take 30 min I had to take him with me then they lied and said it was done in 15 min throughout my stay I only asked the room to be cleaned once the housekeeper did not speak English refused to clean my room earlier overpriced the Desmond parked 20 years ago no ice on my floor chipped paint outdated although I heard it was done over by my brother in law who was head of maintenance and retired he died of a heart attack that was a long time ago I’m really disappointed I could of stayed for half the price got breakfast I thought I wa getting luxury I was not rough towels etc everything was bad

When I arrived, the grounds of the property was kept nicely and the reception area was very inviting. My only compliant would be the cleanliness in the room - mainly in the bathroom. It did not appear that housekeeping swept or vacuumed the floor and there was hair all over the hand towel hanging up near the sink. Otherwise I would give them another try.

Quiet but spacious enough for weddings

I’m a stand up comedian and I had a show in Cohoes, so I needed a nice play to stay the night with my boyfriend. We were very pleased with our stay. It’s a beautiful hotel, the staff are extremely friendly & the place is very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

At check-in, the front desk employee offered to change my reservation from a two queen bed to a king bed room, so I could be close to the elevator at the front door instead of way in the back of the property. I thought that was very thoughtful and considerate of me as a guest.

I was in 143 - there’s a terrible noise in the bathroom at all times - sounds like a truck is stalled outside - it gives off an electrical vibration feel. The center of the room is less so. My guess is that the room is right next to the equipment room.

The pictures on the site make this hotel look so updated but it is really worn down.

I am a female travelling alone. I was assigned to a room on the main floor. The window lock was broken, so the room was not secure. I politely asked to be moved to a different room. The man at the front desk acted very put out and categorically said the hotel was full and I couldn't be relocated. When I insisted for safety reasons, he magically found a new room but made it painfully clear that my safety concerns were a major inconvenience to him. It was an extremely unpleasant experience.

We like the place but our last night was noisy with teenagers milling around drinking beer n having a party. We called the front desk to complain n they sent their security staff to stop the noise.

Property looks good, the room was bad,not worth the money i paid. Sink was clogged event after registering a complaint. The maintenance came, pour some liquids on it but still wont work. Bathroom was flowing out of the tub, the entire bathroom became flooded., we had to put some of the towels on the floor.

The service was good, front desk people professional, helpful. The only thing I didn’t like is on one of the bed, the fitted sheet was too small, it really didn’t fit on the mattress, so the person literally slept just on top of the mattress cover, need to use the right size, can’t just be lazy to get the right sheet.
