Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the hotel's proximity to Disney parks, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the high cost, technical issues with room keys, and certain aspects of the service.
- Convenient location near Disney parks
- Comfortable beds and luxurious rooms
- High cost for value received
- Technical issues with room keys
- 5/5
We always stay here whenever we go to Disneyland . It’s best in terms of proximity and the rooms are very spacious too . Nothing can beat the location and service !
- 5/5
The staff makes the entire Disney experience almost worth the cost. We had a great time and the great service started when we arrived at Valet and ended when we left from Valet.
- 2/5
Overpriced
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
I liked everything about it
- 1/5
We had mold in each room we stayed in and were sick throughout our entire stay. Such a tired hotel especially for the price
- 5/5
If you are visiting Disneyland and can stay here, it’s absolutely the best option in terms of proximity and park access. There’s no contest. They also have great amenities and dining options onsite. Extremely family friendly with very quiet rooms.
- 5/5
We felt pampered and cared for every step of the way!
- 5/5
The room pillows were too thick and firm, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. The hair conditioner didn’t work well and left my hair feeling messy, almost as if I hadn’t washed it. Not having early entry to the park was also disappointing. Everything else, however, was great.
- 5/5
No bad
- 5/5
Had a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids
- 5/5
Excellent staff and everything else! We wanted for nothing. I will say make sure to make dinner reservations because there isn’t anywhere to walk in.
- 5/5
Enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend stay.
- 5/5
Its Disney!
- 5/5
I really recommend this place
- 5/5
I love this place so much. It's like a dream. The rooms are small for the price but the ambiance and proximity to Disneyland is perfect. If you have the funds and want a luxury place to spend your time and feel like you're in another world for a little bit, then this is perfect.
- 3/5
Great staff hope pluming issues were resolved. I never expected to have back up water coming up on my first stay,
- 5/5
Conveniently located and staff very helpful.
- 5/5
Spent out time dining at the local restaurants. We’re pass holders so we entered and exited the parks frequently. Spent 1 afternoon at the pool with the whole family. Extremely enjoyable experience but yes, a bit pricey.
- 5/5
This was the best stay at the Disneyland Resort that we've ever had. It is expensive but worth it for a few days. It was a close walk to Disneyland and connected to Downtown Disney and Disney's California Adventure Park. The only thing that I didn't like was that we had to pay for everyrhing in the hotel after paying so much to stay here. Disney gives nothing for free so there was nothing given for free like parking, meals, or anything small or simple. Nothing was complementary. For the price they should at least give free breakfast. I think they should also have discounts for hotel guest in Downtown Disney. But it was still a great stay.
- 5/5
What's not to love about a Disney resort (other than the price, maybe)? All of the cast members were friendly and helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoying being there; our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable; and the proximity to the parks can't be beat. I was especially impressed by the luxurious lounge chairs at the pool. Not as impressed by the mediocre $26 margarita or the pricey character dinner. I also had a spa service that was phenomenal. Now that we've stayed on property, I'm not sure we can go back to a nearby hotel.
- 5/5
This hotel is magnificent. It enhances the magic that already is Disneyland. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. The only change I would make, is I would ask them to go back to allowing guests to get into the park early again.
- 5/5
We loved it here! So clean, staff were friendly, chocolates on the pillow. We felt the Disney magic!

I guess you're paying for convenience and proximity to the parks but for $1,200 for a night and $75/night valet parking, I've stayed at 5-star luxury resorts for less. Room service also messed up our order and when we called to get the butter that we had previously requested for our pancakes and toast, we waited another hour and gave up. The beds were comfortable and that's about it.
- 5/5
Great stay

Everything
- 5/5
Oh my gosh, I was so happy to find this hotel on this app because I like to use it for points. We had the best day, I absolutely am obsessed with that hotel. It is so much better than the Disneyland hotel. A must stay.
- 4/5
Lobby, shops, and nearby food choices was great.
- 3/5
Around 7 PM, staff came into our room for turndown service, but the experience felt a bit uncomfortable. When we tried to get back into our room, we were asked to prove it was our room, which felt unnecessary. There also wasn’t a “Do Not Disturb” sign provided we had to ask for one. Overall, it just doesn’t feel very well run for the price. The location is probably the best thing about it.
- 3/5
To be
- 4/5
This is a magical establishment. Immediate access to Disneyland and the Adventure Park. Nearly all staff were above and beyond. I was not impressed by some of the dining experiences, but I have a severe dietary restriction, and this is mostly why. Will be returning
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time staying at the Grand, it was so convenient to Disneyland and California Adventure.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff
- 5/5
Great location, plenty of food options, pool service and slides were great and clean. Staff was wonderful and it wasn’t loud considering how many kids must be staying here.
- 5/5
Amazing place and the staff was awesome
- 5/5
O
- 5/5
Everything is just a wonderful experience and you feel very welcome
- 5/5
What I liked most was the friendliness of the staff members
- 5/5
We loved our stay at this beautiful property. The value for us was the close proximity to the park entrances!! Loved the spacious lobby with the rocking chairs by the fireplace. Staff always smiled and said hello, polite and very helpful answering questions. Our only downside was the bed was very soft. If you are juggling children and grandchildren, the convenience alone makes up for the price. Naps for grandparents and little ones tired of walking could quickly retreat to the air-conditioning and beds!! Middle aged kids and parents could retreat to the pool and poolside bar! We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Outstanding service and location.
- 5/5
Yes its over priced but damn its beautiful!!
- 5/5
Loved being so close to the park. Nice hotel all around
- 5/5
Our room was upgraded and we ended up having a view of the fireworks from our balcony. Great proximity to California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Love the California wilderness theme and the lobby area has wonderful charm and character. Staff was friendly, as well.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Excellent customer service.
- 5/5
It’s a magical place!
- 5/5
The Grand Californian is a whole vibe. The staff are always helpful and efficient. The amenities are unbeatable and the cleanliness of the hotel is unparalleled.
- 5/5
Great room, friendly staff, great room service
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 4/5
Room was very clean.. I upgraded my room for a better view but i got a roof top and the building across the way. Not a better view. I wasn’t happy with that upgrade. Also we received a lightning pass with our stay. We were told it was good for all rides in both parks. Turns out it was only good for 1 time use. Had i know , I would have bought the regular lighting pass. The girl at registration failed to i form us if its use.
- 5/5
Free bottle water, staff attention, clean and visuals
- 5/5
Love this place!
- 5/5
Had an amazing time. The room was excellent, everyone was so friendly, and the housekeeping made sure our room was spotless and charming every day. We left to the parks feeling secure and the grounds themselves were beautiful. Would go back
- 5/5
The room was spotless the service was excellent.
- 5/5
Great staff! We will stay again if possible
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the stay, wonderful to be on property to the parks!
- 5/5
Beautiful ,convenient hotel to visit Disney Parks
- 5/5
Room was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
- 4/5
Ok
- 5/5
Great customer service. Attention to detail in every area. Clean and tidy.
- 4/5
I feel the size of the room and the cost of the room are not compatible. I understand the connivence of the location adds a premium, but this is just another excessive cost you find at the park. I will NOT stay on property in the future. Better values and access off sit.
- 1/5
The bathtub was clogged and it took 2 hours to fix it. It was fixed at 1:20 AM in the morning. We cam to the hotel from DisneyLand at 11 PM wanting to take a shower and to rest. Also the day we were going to checkout from the Hotel, the handle on the toilet to flush was broken and will not flush! they fixed it after an hour.
- 2/5
No early access to the park was also disappointing! Iris was very professional & pleasant at pre-check-in. Bell desk promised to bring bags in twenty minutes but took I hour despite prompting.
- 5/5
Staff efficient and expedient. Service was excellent. Hotel and grounds were well kept and pleasing.
- 2/5
Pre check in was great w/Iris @ 9:30am. When came back at 6:00 the man gave us the wrong room meant for my son.delivery of stored bags took 3 times longer than the 15 minutes promised @ the bell desk.
- 4/5
The best part about the hotel is it's close to Disney Downtown.
- 5/5
The Grand Californian is definitely my family’s favorite Disney hotel, hands down! Not cheap, but an experience that’s worth having at least a few times in your travels to Disneyland.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and helpful! Great food
- 5/5
The room was spacious and had all the amenities. We enjoyed staying so close to the park and having direct access to California Adventure. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Bell hop excellent, showed us cool stuff in our room Loved the balcony Shower was nice
- 5/5
Hotel is nice and offers first-class service
- 4/5
Convenient but pricey.
- 3/5
Check in was good. View was bad. We booked another room for our daughter and they had a spectacular view
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 3/5
Goo
- 5/5
I had a great view of the pool area!
- 1/5
Check in was awful because we booked on Travelocity (who knew??). Need to work on a better system to connect both confirmation numbers!
- 1/5
Service nice but room condition was not good and not worth it the price is only worth for it’s location
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!
- 1/5
*****if the guest(s) could not give an answer, then that's a RED FLAg and that's when a room key should be asked!!!!. Poor security briefing. Do you even have security briefing??or you just TARGET people based on their demographics or skin color or cultural background????
- 2/5
Check in took hours (their system was down), the staff at front desk was rude and not helpful at all, bathroom sink was backed up. Could not use. All in all, total rip off.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and right on Disney California adventure park, easy access.
- 5/5
None
- 5/5
Staff are very accomodating. Very close to the parks with early access if needed.
- 5/5
Always a pleasure staying at The Grand. The bed did feel a bit more springy than usual, hence the 4 star rating. Would not deter another stay though
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay, fabulous experience
- 5/5
It was amazing!
- 5/5
The check in was smooth, the staff are great! Best time ever at the Disney Grad California Hotel!
- 2/5
For the amount of money it costs to stay here, I was disappointed. The rooms don’t live up to the hype. Very run of the mill and similar to a Holiday Inn. The grounds themselves and the lobby are spectacular, but the parking options are horrendous. $70 for valet or you can lug all of your stuff across the street to the end of the parking lot. Most of the days I stayed here, the lot was full so I had to park at Pixar place. Not convenient or close at all. The biggest perk in my opinion is being able to go right into California adventure and being so close to downtown disney.
- 5/5
Simply the best Disneyland Resort.
- 5/5
Had great time only complaint would be not enough places to get coffee and also there are only two hot tubs available for everyone that stays there and it’s quite a bit so we were unable to use which is disappointing
- 5/5
Its my favorite hotel during Christmas time
- 5/5
Best Customer Service! All employees were very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist you and answered all questions and provided information regarding location of shops, restaurants, in and round the property....etc.
- 1/5
Staff's most common word is "NO"
- 5/5
Very Magical place
- 5/5
So this was her 5th Bday gift
- 1/5
3 rooms not ready at check in. Bag check line an hour long. Rooms available two hours late. No late check out available. Lost a half day just dealing with terrible operations.
- 5/5
The property is extremely nice and the staff is extremely helpful. Super convenient with easy access to the park.
- 5/5
Only bad thing about the stay was the fire alarms going off but minor inconvenience in what resulted in a fun trip.
- 5/5
All of the hotel staff were really welcoming and helpful. The room was nice and comfortable.
- 3/5
This is a beautiful hotel and the staff is super friendly but for the price I was expecting more. I was traveling with a 5 year old and the noise from the piano and performer (though it sounded great) kept us up late into the night. Be sure and ask about your room location when you check in if you need to get a good night’s sleep or have an early flight.
- 5/5
Great hotel! Pricey but so convenient for entry into California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
- 5/5
It was a beautiful hotel; excellent service, and easy to enter both Disneyland and California Adventure without having to use the car for three days. It was however very expensive.
- 3/5
While our room was generally nice, we found strands of long hair in the shower (didn’t match our hair and didn’t belong to us). Restaurant staff at the hotel property were all super friendly as were valet. However, reception seemed stressed and short with us. It sort of took the magic and excitement out at the beginning of our weekend vacation. Glad Downtown Disney and the parks made up for it all did not disappoint. Next time, we might just stay at a different property.
- 5/5
I love this hotel and wish I could afford it all the time.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, great customer service, great location!! It’s certainly not cheap, but if you can manage to splurge this is the place to stay!
- 5/5
Will be staying here again in the future! Loved the in Hotel entrance to Disney California Adventure Park
- 5/5
I like it all! Wonderful staff , service, attention to detail.
- 5/5
Very welcoming
- 4/5
Our family always stay at the Grand California Hotel. We love it
- 5/5
Loved being able to walk in/out of Disney. Our little ones had a fantastic time at the pool.
- 5/5
Expensive
- 4/5
Sweet … smiling …helpful The furniture and carpets and over all wear is showing! The tree outside our window was dead as was a lot of the vegetation. We were excited for our green forest view. But we’re disappointed. The pool was nice but the music sounds like a dentist office or elevator. I understand that is conducive to the theme of the premises. Maybe instrumental Disney classics at the least. People around were commenting on it as well. The pool is a fun outdoor space. It didn’t make feel like you were at a Disney resort.
- 4/5
Great property at a super premium price. Lovely pools and excellent service. The disappointment is the food, which I’d expect to be fresher and higher quality. The food at Downtown Disney and in the parks is better.
- 5/5
Amazing stay! Staff was super friendly and professional. Being able to link hotel stay with park reservations add that extra touch.
- 5/5
It was very convenient to get to the parks and very quick.
- 5/5
I love the Disney hotel best please I ever stay.
- 5/5
Loved my stay
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly, courteous and helpful! Beautiful property and comfortable rooms!
- 5/5
Our favorite Disney resort hands down. Connects to DCA and Downtown Disney district.
- 3/5
Room was not worth the price. Dirty and poorly stocked. Additionally the evening staff were incredibly unhelpful and bell service was unreachable through the phone system.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 2/5
For what is considered the best property at Disney this is a dated resort, completely dirty, not renovated and staff are clueless .
- 5/5
The rooms were very noisy, you can hear all the conversations the neighbors are having
- 5/5
Really great option if you’re visiting the parks. Great pools, Restaraunt’s are solid, and super convenient.
- 5/5
High price tag made worth it by the easy access to the parks and excellent customer service. Pools are a great escape from busy days at Disney.
- 5/5
This property is truly outstanding. Excellent service, immaculate, and thoughtfully designed for families. I love that the "two queen" rooms also have a large day bed. My very tall 15-year-olds slept there without complaint.
- 4/5
Clean and safe property.
- 5/5
Highly recommend
- 5/5
Excellent Disney stay, so comfortable and convenient for the parks! Don’t think we can stay elsewhere after this experience!
- 5/5
Amazing time with the grandkids. Will definitely stay again.
- 2/5
Location is convenient.
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic. Service was wonderful. Housekeepers were so nice.
- 3/5
Our view was blocked. Phone wasn’t working in our room had to call from my phone to order room service
- 5/5
It was perfect
- 5/5
Water pressure is my only complaint about the room. Otherwise it was so great being able to leave DL or DCA and be back in the hotel room in under 10mins.
- 5/5
Conveniently close to the parks
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous and professional during the entire stay. Definitely a great place to stay with great accommodations. I would highly recommend this location.
- 5/5
Carpet has nails poking out. Beware. Seriously needs carpet change. Worn down in some areas of the room.
- 4/5
We had a staycation at the Grand Californian, and it was better than I expected. One issue was that we paid for a Downtown Disney view, but all we could actually see was the tram loading. Our disappointment changed at night when we saw a good portion of the fireworks show, delighting our son who was too tired to stay for fireworks in the park after 12 hours of tearing it up in the heat. The beds were super comfy, the room was clean, and the service staff were all excellent. This might be something we make an annual tradition.
- 5/5
Service and staff were outstanding! Love that the hotel opens straight into California Adventure
- 5/5
Absolutely worth every penny
- 2/5
Stayed ar one of the resorts to get into disneyland park early. That was not available for the day we went. We ALWAYS go to disneyland first. One staff told us to change our park to DCA. No thank you. That was the only reason we wanted to stay there was earlier access to disneyland. Ate at Storytellers. Recommend not to. First poor service. Second we all got food poisoning. Asked multiple stagg location of the hot tub and were told inaccurate location each time.Attempted to speak to management but they were busy.

- 5/5
The pool staff was outstanding and made us feel incredibly welcome. From the moment we walked into the pool area the gentleman in the suit went above and beyond by going out of his way to get us towels and wrist bands while we made ourselves comfortable. The bartenders were also great. Most pool staff checked on us constantly to ask if we needed anything.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The Napa Rose offers the best rib eye I have had in a long time and Joe and Sandy keep the interesting cocktails flowing.
- 4/5
Convenient to the parks, but lots of hiking. Seems like there’s only one or two signs on the properties. Employees were all helpful but two dozen signs would free up these people to work at something. Staggeringly expensive, too The cafes/restaurants are excessively priced for a buffet or dealing with the lower spectrum of "food".
- 4/5
Unfortunately, the parking situation was disappointing, magic morning is only 30 minutes before the park opens and there were a few rides open :(
- 3/5
No bottled water in rooms, took bell hop over 25 minutes to get us our luggage, mobile key does not open pool area. Beds are very comfy. Staff at the craftsman were wonderful.
- 5/5
The resort was beautiful. We did not pass the pool but the pool area was really nice. The rooms could probably use a facelift for the price (specifically the couch and carpet) but it was clean and we didn't have any problems. The convenience is unmatched. I would book again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
It was great
- 4/5
Expensive but kids enjoy
- 5/5
Incredible experience from start to finish. Truly magical place. Would be blessed to return!
- 1/5
The staff at the ppol was very sensitive to our needs. The waiter at story teller cafeteria called me immediately after leaving my credit card at the restaurant
- 5/5
A game changer being able to go back and forth from the parks to the hotel
- 4/5
The hotel is gorgeous, the pools are to die for, the room is your average hotel room with cute disney touches. The perks of early morning entry, and close proximity to the two Disney parks is what makes the hotel. The lobby is so welcoming and well done with fresh flowers, dark furniture and the grand fireplace. Note for early morning entry get into the line at 6:30 for Disneyland entrance and 6:40 for Disney California entrance. Both lines actually start having you go through security at 7:15, but the lines get super long.
- 4/5
Beautiful property
- 4/5
Property is very convenient if going to parks. It’s very quiet and peaceful. The spa is great but pricey. Valet is convenient but expensive. Didn’t get to enjoy restaurants but they looked nice. Best part is walking onto California Adventure. If you can afford it no doubt worth it. My only gripe is that we were given a disability room. So it was not enjoyable to go to bathroom cause I am over 6 feet tall.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
So wonderful!!
- 5/5
It was wonderful!!! Great service
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and kind.
- 5/5
Amazing room
- 4/5
Additionally, we did NOT get the room we booked through this site. We selected a two queen with a trundle bed - they were all reserved for other guests who called the hotel directly 10 days prior. We were given a two queen with a terribly uncomfortable chair bed. For the utility and the service, plus a great pool experience- we will book again. Even if the price doesn’t match the in room product - beware, it’s not even close.
- 5/5
Once again the Grand Californian was a wonderful place to stay - I have absolutely nothing to complain about or even any suggested improvements. And that’s saying something. I can’t recommend this place enough. Top notch service, lots of food options, a great pool complex and even reasonable rates on pedicures! Of course you can’t do better when it comes to proximity. With entrances directly int California Adventure Park and downtown Disneyland going back to the hotel for forgotten items or a quick rest are easy peasy. I just love this gorgeous hotel.
- 5/5
The only thing that surprised us this year was trying to come back to the hotel from Disneyland after California Adventure closed. We were directly to go through Downtown Disney, and that was easy enough.
- 5/5
Very Classy hotel!
- 4/5
The only thing I didn’t like was that the app key for the room didn’t work half the time. We’ve stayed here before and it worked perfectly, this time it didn’t.
- 5/5
We booked a deluxe room and the beds were super comfortable. Robes and slippers in the room made it feel luxe!
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff
- 5/5
Service and friendliness of staff are great.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and spacious room. The phone in the room didn’t work which delayed retrieving my vehicle from valet and Alex A the bartender at Hearthstone Lounge was rude when he questioned my late night drink of choice, but these are the only negatives of my entire stay. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
The computers were down when we checked in, and it severely affected our experience.
- 1/5
I didn’t like my room I’m so disappointed. I reserved a room with downtown view and the view was awful not worth it at all. I was so excited to see downtown Disney, which I paid for, and I didn’t get anything close to it. I’m very sad about it 😭
- 4/5
The pool was fantastic and they let you use it the entire day that you check out. Although the room was expensive for what you got, this feature helped to even out the value of the experience. Of course the price is expensive for the easy in and out to the park, which was very nice.
- 5/5
Love this hotel. Worth the money to walk right into the parks. The staff are amazing and add to the magic of Disney. If you can, I recommend staying at the hotels on property. :)
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay because it was very nice, clean, quiet, conveniently located, and a Disney property.
- 5/5
Oh my WOW!!! Amazing customer service and immaculate rooms. Have never EVER experienced such amazing service:). Definitely worth your $$$$.
- 5/5
If your looking for quick access to the park doesn’t get better then this
