Guests generally had a positive experience at the hotel, appreciating the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and convenient location. However, some guests had issues with the breakfast service, bathroom cleanliness, and minor room maintenance problems.

The bed was very comfortable. The shower was powerful and amazing (We had a handicap accessible room.) The breakfast was warm, fresh and tasted wonderful. I forgot my toothbrush. They gave me one. I requested no feather pillows. My husband is allergic. 3 of the 4 pillows weren't feather, one was.
- 5/5
The location is amazing, right off the interstate and back on with very limited traffic. The hotel itself smelled fresh from the entrance throughout the entire hotel. The beds were comfortable and Breakfast was great with vegan options! (get the Omelette 😉) The Clerks were super nice with Great professional Appearances and attitudes! Parking was easy but you have to pay for it, other than that. This will always be my choice when I come back.
- 4/5
Our overall experience was very good from the room, breakfast and staff😊👍
- 2/5
live an hour and a half away and decided to spend the night in Chattanooga. We had done this before with no problems. The only difference was we had called the hotel directly to make reservations, the only thing different is I choose to use Expedia to make reservations. So making that choice is the only reason I can think of is using Expedia is the reason for our sleepless and extremely miserable night and exhausting next day. Won't make that mistake again.

Staff
- 4/5
Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. No coffee maker in room. Breakfast was ok but the eggs, biscuits and sausage patties seemed to be overcooked.
- 5/5
The staff was VERY nice it was a smell of pure freshness when you enter the hotel.the room were very clean.the breakfast was too notch very good they definitely get a A+ I loved everything
- 0.5/5
Nothing really but location was decent The rooms were absolutely filthy... We're talking a pile of hair from the previous people who stayed there dirty. The hallway smelled like they had unhoused individuals staying there. It was god awful. Everything about the room just felt dirty.
- 2/5
There was a slow drain in the bathroom told the front desk nobody came to check on it hopefully it will be fixed for the next guest the ice machine had no ice had to go to a different floor for that and the breakfast preparer had a late start had to wait on it luckily breakfast ended at 10. Lastly the suite looked something like the room it appeared much smaller than the listing on the internet
- 3/5
Some rooms had no coffee makers. They ran out of coffee cups for the machine down stairs. So they put these water cups from the rooms down there, they were smaller than the regular cups for the machine so it over filled. One evening ran out of regular and decaf coffee period. Room never checked for body wash, shampoo or conditioner. Two adults and two children only three bath towels. Maybe just me but if you have four guests seams you would prepare with four towels. This was my second time here at this hotel will without a doubt be my last. Probably under new management or Holiday Inn has gone way down hill. I normally don’t complain but this bye far was the worsted experience I have ever had.
- 5/5
The staff was super helpful and customer service was top tier. Alysia and the staff were super informative. Alysia shared her information on things to do and places to eat. Will definitely do a return visit. Thank you so much for taking care of us. The only thing I would change is the miss communication on the website and Expedia about the parking.
- 5/5
Convenient location. Seemed to be within minutes from everything. Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The complementary breakfast was delicious and the pool was great! We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Not sure why we have to pay for parking when it’s not downtown or a garage but overall great stay. Very helpful staff !

Clean nice breakfast
- 5/5
Good place to stay. $14 for parking
- 4/5
Only complaint we had was the bathroom, the tub fixtures were not in great condition and the water to the toilet ran on and off most of the night. Otherwise seamless hotel stay.

- 4/5
I overall had a great experience!
- 2/5
The room was not clean and the bathroom tub was not sanitary. Room service did not service our room the next day, however when addressed with front desk they were very apologetic and sent someone right away.
- 4.5/5
Breakfast was great. The breakfast employee, Anthony, works so hard to keep the breakfast area clean and fully stocked. A+ Location was walkable to City Center, downtown and the river front. Beds were comfy. Wifi was good. Coffee machine is excellent and very appreciated! Staff was friendly. Paying for parking is a bummer. $14/day Mold in the shower along the caulking and shower toiletries. Bleach spray and a little scrub could really fix this.

The Hotel was ok. My only problem is I reserved a double queen room and they gave me a king room
- 3.5/5
Our toilet wouldn't fully flush. Discovered it late at night, so we just told them at checkout in the morning.
- 4/5
Room was clean , check in was excellent, breakfast was good. All around good experience
- 5/5
Breakfast was fresh, room was clean, staff was friendly
- 4/5
They worked with me when I needed to leave early.
- 4/5
Staff was customer friendly. Room was clean. Convenient for our purposes there.
- 3/5
Our room was not totally clean. The bathroom had hair on the floor and looked as if it had not been well cleaned for a few visits.
- 3/5
Breakfast was good, you could walk to downtown but its a little further than some would be comfortable walking.
- 5/5
The staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable . Nice to have breakfast in the morning. Dottie the little dog was a bonus…I would go back just to see Dottie..she made the atmosphere more homey
- 5/5
Room was clean, spacious, comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. All went seamless.
- 4/5
The bed is comfy, the breakfast is good, the staff is wonderful. I’m only taking off a star because paying for parking here is ridiculous. It’s cheaper than anywhere downtown, but there’s no reason to charge guests for parking overnight. It’s a senseless cash grab. Also, the rooms aren’t great with loud sound and the walls are thin. There weren’t any posted quiet hours so it could get loud and there wasn’t anything you could do about it. Also, if you have a room facing MLK, the sounds from the road is incredibly loud from trucks and cars driving by until about 8-9pm. Try to ask for a room facing the parking side if you can.
- 4/5
The rooms were clean, and the beds were reasonably comfortable. Unfortunately, the phone did not work in one of the rooms. Breakfast was very good. Location of the hotel is just ok.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful.

- 5/5
The front desk person - Alaysha - was so accomodating! She gave our 2 guests late check outs, rented us the conference room, and waived parking fees for our group. So awesome to work with!!
- 5/5
The people were very inviting and the hotel was clean
- 4/5
Good option but did not expect to have to pay for parking. Elevator was very slow and jumpy. Comfortable spacious room.
- 4/5
The staff that we had interactions with were very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The room smelled like a dirty mop when we first went in but when we came back the smell had gone. The room looked very clean and the bed was comfortable. The traffic noise from outside was pretty loud. It bothered us the first night but not the subsequent nights. The breakfast was okay and we ate there twice on our five night stay. The staff at the hotel was really friendly. We will stay there again. Parking was easy to get into and out of (and we have a truck).
- 4/5
Everything was very fresh. We enjoyed it all
- 5/5
Everything was great. The staff were friendly and courteous, the breakfast was delicious and the room was clean.
- 5/5
The staff was filled with southern hospitality. Super friendly and accommodating. We greatly enjoyed pur stay.
- 5/5
Stayed here last year. Friendly staff and a good location.
- 5/5
Best service ever! The breakfast workers were absolutely the best I’ve ever seen—and pre-covid I was on the road a LIOT. Please tell them thank you. Check in was equally good. Loved the coffee! Loved my pillows—so good I wanted to extend my trip but alas, the work was finished!
- 5/5
The night time staff was friendly that helped us, and the kids loved the pool.
- 3/5
Yes, it was a decent room
- 5/5
They are all so very helpful and nice. This is our “Go To” place when we are in Chattanooga.
- 5/5
Recently stayed here for one night and had a great stay. Check-in was easy and efficient and staff was very helpful, particularly when I realized I had forgotten to pack toothpaste! Would recommend this hotel for anyone needing an affordable and convenient stay in Chattanooga.
- 4/5
The room was nice but the bathroom was dated. The lady at the front desk in the evening was warm and friendly, but the remainder of the staff did seem like they wanted to be there
- 5/5
Rooms smelled good and service was friendly and immediately saw to my needs.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and the sraff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk especially made me feel right at home for my one night stay. She had very good recommendations on where to go and what to eat. She also helped me with my parking issue!
- 5/5
The room was clean and was always restocked as needed! The room was spacious, clean and the staff was very friendly!
- 5/5
Clean room, clean floors and parking lot and pool area.
- 5/5
Great helpful staff.
- 4/5
Other than that, our stay was good.
- 2/5
Too far to walk to resturants so had to drive into town and pay for parking every night. Staff were not aways friendly, but did help when we had trouble using the QR code. By the way, it never worked and the manager had to put the info in for me.
- 3/5
Female front desk staff were not friendly at all. Grumpy and not pleasant. The male front desk staff was much better - more pleasant and helpful.
- 4/5
Nice place. Dining was hit or miss depending on what the lady wanted to fix. Front Desk staff was awesome. No place outside for patio/sitting area.
- 4/5
Breakfast was good. I didnt understand the parking lot and how thwy wanted a picture of sone code. When you pay to stay at a hotel they should have free parking.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and friendly staff
- 3/5
Guests are extorted for $14 a day parking. I will not stay here again for that reason. Front desk attendant had the personality of a wet dishrag.
- 5/5
The breakfast was good when they finally replenished everything. They really needed some help as it got real busy all at the same time, at the end. Christina from the front desk helped out.
- 4/5
Environment is good but facility is not good
- 3/5
We found ants in the room. Had to change rooms as was an inconvenience . Also, the front desk lady had a sharp tongue which i didn’t appreciate. Everything else was ok/good.
- 5/5
Great hotel and close to the convention center. The bummer is that parking costs extra
- 5/5
Good, clean, safe, convenient…
- 5/5
The staff was very kind and helpful
- 5/5

- 2/5
The breakfast was not worthwhile for the cost of a nights stay. The 5th floor had a horrible smell our whole trip which was annoying. The shower head was not good
- 5/5
Super friendly staff- great restaurants close by but they are a drive ! You wouldn’t want to walk from here. Parking is $14 per day.
- 5/5
Clarice was very helpful and friendly when checking in
- 4/5
Staff is not friendly at all. $14.00 a day for parking is wild!
- 5/5
I always try to stay at Holiday Inn Express
- 4/5
Overall is good
- 5/5
Everything -- thd place exceeded expectations. And...the coffee machine! Fresh ground!!
- 4/5
A bit of road noise as it was close to a highway but good for getting back on the road.
- 5/5
Free breakfast better than typical at other hotels.
- 3/5
TV speakers were blown out and the screen was stuck on blue.
- 4/5
Check in was pleasant!
- 2/5
Had to change rooms due to room being filthy and had an odor. Moved tk secondroom and it was still dirty but not as dirty and it didnt habe an odor. Some staff was a little unsettling but they workedhard and tried to keep everyone happy
- 4/5
Overall we had a fun time, we did have to kill a few ants in the bathroom and the bathtub was not so clean.
- 5/5
Amazing breakfast, amazing hard-working, kind, welcoming ppl. Definitely gave us better image of Holiday Inn.
- 3/5
Surprise parking fee, long wait for desk clerk, staff not welcoming
- 5/5
we had an excellent one night stay
- 5/5
Very nice.
- 5/5
Helpful staff. Pool and fitness area. Can walk to everything in Chattanooga from here and also right next to the interstate.
- 2/5
Our phone didn't work no internet and the poor girl working was all by herself.
- 4/5
Great
- 4/5
Place was clean and quiet. Breakfast was better than expected. Location is great. Close to everything including the interstate
- 5/5
- I loved this property, even though I only stayed for a few days. I enjoyed the breakfast, the pool, and the afternoon walk to the city center.
- 2/5
The motel was not bad. However they charge you $15 to park in their parking lot. Ive never had to pay to park in a normal hotel parking lot before. There is no reason to make you pay, other than to increase profit. You dont even notice the paid parking in the description of the hotel unless you are really paying attention.
- 5/5
The lady's working the front desk we're so very helpful and very nice
- 5/5
Check in was easy and host was very helpful. The only problem was having to pay $17 dollars a night using QR code. I later learned most of the city uses the same process at most public lots. Going out to eat dinner was another 17 dollars to park for 2 hours. Little old fashioned and not very keen on QR codes. However the web site for hotel let me know In advance about paid parking and was expecting to pay the hotel host on my bill.
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Ice machine not working on my floor, but the next level did work.
- 4/5
We liked the proximity to dining. The downtown was pretty. We were not aware that we had to pay for parking at the hotel. This may be a city-enforced thing, but I don't recall it being stated on the website
- 5/5
Very clean and pleasant stay.
- 4/5
Clean hotel, quiet area, close drive to everything. Only con, pay additional fee for parking.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, nice property and location. the room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Very clean. Nice pool. Great breakfast.
- 1/5
There was no honesty/transparency from the hotel about having to pay for parking. We had also called to ensure the pool was functional and would be for our stay. When we arrived we were told "scheduled maintenance" had closed the pool. We would have booked somewhere else. Got to the room...it was a hot and humid 76. It finally got down to 70 degrees around 4am or so. Pull out sofa bed had sheets on it. They were not clean and they had blood stains. We showered, slept, and then showered again. Awful! In the morning breakfast was not kept well stocked. I had late checkout at 12pm. As we walked by the front desk I was challenged by a man about late checkout. I told him our room number and that we had late checkout. He printed a receipt and gave it to me. Was not friendly at all.
- 2/5
We were hit with a surprise when checking in. Motel charged us an additional $14 per night to park our car in their parking lot. Next time we will stay downtown near the aquarium. Parking is a ripoff in Chattanooga. Pay at hotel, again at dinner, again at attractions, all within one mile of each other.
- 4/5
This was a standard, nice hotel. It was clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast was nice, as well. It's in a nice area, and I would stay here again.
- 4/5
We stayed a night, quick in and out. But it was a decent one close to town.
- 1/5
they didn’t have key cards screaming all over the place. The room smell really bad.
- 5/5
It was clean and in a perfect location.
- 5/5
I recommend this hotel for cleanliness, fantastic breakfast, friendly staff and good location!
- 5/5
Clean rooms convenient location front desk very polite and professional with the exception of late at night a tall Baldwin was rather rude I'm not sure if he was security or front desk staff everyone else was great
- 2/5
There were gnats flying all around and ants on the air conditioner. Would not recommend
- 1/5
The hotel rent their parking lot to a third party company and you have to pay for parking...the bad thing is that you don't know how much you will be charged until check out...you have to provide your credit card info and then get charged... This is unbelievable, how in the world a hotel rent their parking to a third party company to get their guest charged for parking... There are plenty of good and better hotels in the area w/o parking fees or some charges just 10 dollars per night.
- 5/5
Clean and great service
- 4/5
The hotel was clean and staff were polite. The free breakfast was good. No real complaints but next time i will book something closer to downtown restaurants.
- 1/5
The road in front is noisy and windows aren't sound proof. In our room, the toilet ran all night and the mattress was turned over with the pillow top facing down.
- 4/5
Great staff and clean. The location left something to be desired
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Nice hotel but the staff wasnt very friendly.
- 4/5
Didnt like the cost for parking.
- 5/5
Didnt like paying for their parking lot
- 4/5
Do not appreciate that the parking lot has been sold to a private parking company and now you have to pay $16/day to stay at the property. If this hotel was downtown in a busy city like NYC or Washington, DC...maybe I could understand but on the outskirts of Chattanooga, TN...really?! Will look for other hotel options on future trips.
- 3/5
This place just liked to paint over obvious problems. Breakfast was disgusting. Definitely needs some tlc.
- 4/5
I had to 30.00 for parking for two nights in the hotels parking lot. I may not have selected this hotel if I had known that. The breakfast was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. It is a good fifteen minute walk to the center of down town from this hotel.
- 4/5
My air conditioner was out my entire stay while I was on the third floor. If I had working air I would have rated the hotel 10/10. Worker said maintenance would be over but they never came
- 5/5
Clean room and great shower head.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel. Only complaint I have...you absolutely should not have to pay to park at a hotel you're paying $200 to spend the night in. You know people have no other choice than to pay because there is no where else to park and you just should not do people like that in order to make a buck. That alone is enough to make me never stay there again and unfortunately I really liked the hotel and staff.
- 3/5
The hotel and room was clean and staff was friendly. The only reason I put a 3/5 stars is because of the pay to park at the hotel, where your already having to pay to stay. It was $62 for 4 nights and then was charged a $50 incidental fee which i have yet to be returned. Im a single mom and this trip was a spring break get away for me and my son. Because of the extra charges we were unable to do some of the activities we had planned to do.
- 2/5
Avoid this hotel and stay outside Chattanooga. Everywhere you go in this city requires you to pay for parking. This hotel is no exception, and does not state that in the description, only that self-parking is available. Also, our room had a bad smell. I will not stay here again.
- 3/5
It’s near downtown but I wouldn’t say it’s in the heart of downtown. They also charge for parking, which I must have missed on the website.
- 3/5
The parking wasn’t included and they didn’t mention anything about it on the website. I had to pay $15 for 24 hrs parking. Also in the room by the A/C unit are bunch of ants one was on the bed . Otherwise it was ok
- 2/5
On the 4th room, we finally find one that is NOT ALREADY OCCUPIED. Reservation system very confused or hacked or something!
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good I didn't like the fact i had to pay extra to park.
- 5/5
Why did I have to pay $15 for parking at a holiday inn…
- 1/5
Paying to park ☹️
- 2/5
The hotel is located next to a very busy street with a lot of loud truck traffic. Our room was on the street side instead of the parking lot side, so we did not get much sleep. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room sounded like a jet engine taking off every time it started, so it kept waking us during the night. The furniture in the room was sticky for some reason, and the bathroom did not have any soap or towels when we arrived. The breakfast was fine and the staff was friendly. This was a disappointing experience overall, as we really like most Holiday Inn Expresses.
- 3/5
Stray hairs in room. AC unit super loud. Road noise overnight. Desk agents very polite and efficient but not very professional looking. Didn’t ask for id to replace my room key.
- 5/5
Quiet and clean and easy to walk the town.
- 4/5
Had a couple of issues this time. Landline phone in the room didn’t work. The street seemed noisy and you can hear a lot in the hotel. I might run the air next time for white noise. I’m going to factor in the cost of parking ($13) next time because the hotels with more expensive parking have convenient lower priced options closer to the city.
- 3/5
The first room smelled like stinky carpet. The second room smell good but the fridge was leaking on the floor and it was not very cold
- 4/5
The staff was friendly, our check in went smoothly. The location was very convenient.
- 4/5
Good price near where we needed to be for the weekend.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Served breakfast early for me and my kids who were leaving early to continue on our trip to Florida. Pool was clean and warm. Safe location!
- 4/5
Hotel was very clean and the pool was nice.We enjoyed breakfast and the coffee. The only downside to hotel was how far it was from all the downtown activities and even how far one had to walk for a shuttle.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean spacious room
- 5/5
The room was exceptionally clean, housekeeping did a fabulous job (even folded my son's pizza blanket to look like a slice of pizza), we were treated like VIPs and were able to use the laundry facility even after we checked out, to finish up laundry. The manager Clarissa is wonderful lady and made us feel like home during our stay. Breakfast was perfect both days and parking was very convenient for being so close to downtown. We will book our stays at this hotel anytime we are in Chattanooga from now on.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Overall, I felt very pleased by the location we selected. Easy to find & convenient to downtown area. We only stayed one night, so accommodations met all of our expectations for our short stay. We loved the indoor pool the most, affordable rates (incl. paid parking), and complimentary breakfast. Thank you for your hospitality!
- 4/5
Property was just fine for the trip I was on.
- 5/5
This was clean and had a decent breakfast.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. I like the pancake machine.
- 3/5
Everywhere was just banged up and needed a total refresher. Elevavotrs had dents in the paneling. Old scratched up bathtubs. Breakfast was great though, probably better breakfast from HIE that I've had in years.
- 4/5
The front desk staff was accommodating, helpful, and kind.
- 3/5
Super close to downtown, free breakfast, but pretty outdated. There was a trash bag on the smoke detector in my room. And I could hear the road all night and all day. Super noisy. Also could hear someone out in the hallway on their phone at 2am.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the great location, friendly staff, heated pool and the breakfast in the morning. The only issue we experienced was that Air conditioning would not cool the room. While it was very cold weather it was very stuffy in the room and the a/c would have made it more comfortable during the night. Still overall a good stay for our family.
- 4/5
Nice plave to stay,i would stay again.
- 5/5
Clean facility, nice staff, great breakfast!
- 5/5
The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was friendly & accommodating and the location is very convenient; it wasn’t too far from downtown and it was definitely close to the highway.
- 5/5
Very friendly and courteous staff.
- 1/5
First and foremost the staff was very friendly and attentive when we had a problem arise. On our 2nd night of stay the air kicked on and blew out black mold particles all over the floor! It was late at night and when we went down to the front desk the lady working was friendly and immediately handled our problem and switched our rooms and even comped one night due to us having to pack up and move everything. The 2nd room smelled like smoke and the air didn’t work and she moved us again! The breakfast was not up to par either morning. The first morning all the juices were out and then the 2nd morning the pancakes were out. Even though the stay was the both best I will say the staff did right by us which speaks volumes for most businesses now.
- 5/5
The property was clean and the staff was very nice. We especially enjoyed the Sunday morning food person can’t remember her name. We did have an issue with being overcharged, but it was taken care of within a couple of days.
- 4/5
Front desk check in personnel distracted with personal phone call. Bed comfortable but very tall. I'm 5'7" and I had to jump up. Shower curtain didn't fit well so water got on the floor. My biggest concern was the walls are thin & doors slam hard. Someone checked into the room next to mine very late, after midnight, well after I was asleep. The slamming door woke me and then I could hear everything he was doing. He also had a dog that barked anytime someone walked past. I did get back to sleep finally. Also it's on a busy road coming into the city. I left fan running to cover road noise. My stay was ok but I would look for a different hotel if in the area again.
- 5/5
It was clean and the staff was friendly and courteous.
- 5/5
The general manager is wonderful. I came to Chattanooga to see my mother in the hospital. I needed to extend my stay and she was able to accommodate my needs. Nice breakfast and small gym and pool to start my day.
- 4/5
Overall it was a good stay. The front desk folks and house keepers were friendly. The rooms clean. I thought the breakfast could have been better.
