Guests generally appreciate the hotel's location, staff, and breakfast, but express concerns about cleanliness, maintenance, and parking. Some guests also mention issues with elevators, noise, and the size of the pool.

It was a very good place to stay with a family. My daughter enjoyed the little indoor pool. It is close to Navy Pier, restaurants, bowling, movie theater, River Walk and shopping. It is a 15 minute or so walk to the recliner. Also love that there ate 2 beds amd a sofa bed...not an option many of the nesrby hotels offered. All and all a very pleasant stay.
- 4/5
The hotel staff were nice and responsive. Would go there again.
- 3/5
I also do not feel guests should be charged the $25 resort fee on the day of checkout, especially since many amenities can no longer realistically be used once guests are preparing to leave. That policy felt unnecessary and left a negative impression at the end of our stay. The hotel itself had positives, but improvements to the pull-out couch accommodations and reconsideration of the checkout-day resort fee would make a big difference in the guest experience.
- 4/5
We have stayed here at least 3 times before. They have added a daily $25 destination fee. While you can get up to $25 back in food at the bar, the food isn’t available until 3;00. It would be great to have availability at noon. There are only 2 currently working elevators which became quite time consuming. They should be working a lot more to get the other 2 fixed. Breakfast is good as usual. Location and parking garage are great.

The buffet for breakfast was awesome!! It was a great way to start our day. The hotel was in a wonderful location, close to the pier close to the shops everything in walking distance. We loved our stay, enjoyed the city immensely. We will be back… and stay at the embassy again!!

The staff was amazing especially Yaritza and Madeline! Kind, warm and knowledgeable hospitality that made us plan another trip back soon! The bathrooms need updating especially the shower/tub tiles. Toilets need upgrading as well.
- 5/5
Breakfast is really good, rooms are clean, everyone is really nice. Elevators but I think they are working on it. Only 2 elevators for all the rooms in the property.
- 4/5
The breakfast and location House keeping. Housekeeping half cleaned the rooms. Had to ask for them to vacuum and more towels. Just don’t clean the rooms every day if they are going to be half clean. Just offer towels

Hospitality/service Madeline and Yaritza were amazing and very helpful! Bathrooms

Everything was fantastic food, happy hour, check in staff and bag holding staff. Housekeeping was good but they need to really clean shower tile

The shower control was loose so either as hot it can be or cold water no warm staff was told about it friday morning did not fix as of us leaving today which is Sunday. Multiple elevator issues. Buffet wss not good as usual. We like to stay st embassy when we can, but this by far my wosrt experience
- 3/5
The elevators were broken and took a very long time to get around for the price and we were not told
- 4/5
Over all it was a pleasant stay. My only complaint was I reported the Kerig wasn't working and they said they would replace it however they never did. There were not many options on their menu for us who have celiac. The woman taking omlet orders was very kind and they were delicious and amazingly quick.

Excelent stay in Chicago with a great breakfast that is include. Awesome location and staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Always love staying at the embassy one of my fav hotels. Although 2 out of the 4 elevators are under maintenance so it was a bit of a wait to get one. Also the bathroom does need a bit of tlc. But overall it was a great stay staff was friendly and did offer parking but at 65 a night but it is convenient.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Chicago. Walking distance to just about everything. Chicago is beautiful and our stay here for my whole family was awesome! Highly recommend for families!

Elevator took a long time .. only one was working. Not enough towels. Not clean bathroom no toilet paper. Sofas very bad shape. The bathroom fan not working

Clean room, staff was amazing, breakfast was great! When we stay in Chicago, this hotel is one of our favorites!

Conveniently located. Need upgrade in bathroom.

Only thing I didn’t like was that 2 out of 4 elevators weren’t working. They were being repaired, besides this it was a great stay.

That being said, when we checked in, we were charged a mandatory $25/night and given $25/day vouchers to spend on food or drink at the onsite cafe/bar. They were not stackable and could only be used 1 per day. This was not disclosed in advance nor allowed to be declined. Our schedule for the weekend was too busy for us to use 2 days worth and so that was a wasted $50. This was Infuriating!!! In today’s economy and with Chicago’s cost of living, $50 isn’t disposable. The breakfast, while free, took 30 minutes to get made to order and 20 to get buffet. On the buffet the eggs were literal liquid and the bacon was so greasy it was inedible. And the lines, along with broken elevators, made timing difficult. The evening reception, again, while free, had lines so long that it would take up to 15 minutes to get a drink. With a busy weekend visit, 2 nights went unused for lack of time to wait And most frustratingly, 2 of the 4 elevators were out of service the entire weekend. Waits for the elevator were absolutely insane. Especially at checkout and check in times and at breakfast. One employee mentioned that they would be out of service until beginning of July. None of these known, expensive and inconvenient problems were disclosed ahead of time and really made our stay unpleasant. We will opt for another brand next visit.

The breakfast experience was terrible. The breakfast, the room was very old.

Not much to comment on. Difficult to get to the hotel from parking garage.
- 3/5
We stayed here with out 3 kids and it was ok. Close to the Riverwalk and had different eating places. But the place was under construction so the there as only 2 working elevators. The staff were not helpful at all. We kept getting bounced around when we asked for help. We asked how we can apply our eating credit and the front desk sent us to the bar and the bar people were not helpful. They were busy with only two bartenders and other staff stood around. Also the online ordering system was not user friendly at all. So we ended up with multiple orders even though we asked staff to remove the orders that came in online.
- 3/5
Hotel is in a good area for walking to places. Walls are paper thin heard sirens all night plus a baby in the other room crying all night. Elevators at one point only one elevator was available for the whole hotel and then only two which made getting to your room very hard. The breakfast and happy hour was good but not clean floors were sticky and tables were dirty all day long. overall it was ok but not worth 300+ a night with elevators not working and it was dirty.
- 3.5/5
Overall a good stay and nice hotel, not as good as our stays at Embassy Suites in Austin or San Antonio TX but much of that because, hello, Chicago is a gig city. Great breakfasts as usual and the suites are terrific for an old man and his wife who dont sleep well in the same room. Rooms have good facilities with plenty of computer-phone connections and all but the quiet was good. Have stayed in hotels from San Fran to Las Vegas to New York and never had a less friendly check-in person as the young ?Chinese Asian man. Cannot people smile and greet you--or am I used to the South--we had a good dinner in the attached Pub and that young non-Asian waiter was equally non-forthcoming. (not at all prejudiced as many of my medical colleagues are Asian). One bank of elevators were not working, causing long lines, but assume that was a transient problem. More lasting would be the thin ceiling that allowed noise transmission--not noted in Austin or SA but perhaps less busy as this stay was over Memorial Day. Never happy about $65 per day parking especially no valet available and wish they had more than one bellman on Friday as we spent 20 minutes waiting for one, finally figuring out how to go up and check in--had to being all our stuff up to room ourselves.

Pool was very cold & for the price it would be nice if there was a hot tub but otherwise the service was very good as was the breakfast 🙂
- 2/5
All but one elevator worked and zero attempts were made by staff to help at all. We had stroller and two bags on floor six and waited 20 minutes. No one even came to help. When we spoke to front desk they simply said “we’re sorry—you’re welcome to leave a review”. Ridiculous

Best hotel breakfast around...for free! Excellent buffet, and cook to order omelets are restaurant quality
- 3/5
Check in process was very very long. With 2 elevators under service it took forever to get in and out. Housekeeping showed up after 4 each day, usually when we got back from being gone all day. To many other choices that we will use next time

Great breakfast, great views
- 4/5
Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly. The property itself was in good shape, the room however, specifically the bathroom, was in really poor shape and in need of an update. Rust stains around the faucet in the tub, caulking around the tub had dark spots, and the bottom of the door was falling apart. Looked like the bathroom had flooded at some point and the door was damaged by the water.
- 2/5
A major source of dissatisfaction is based on their business practices. They advertise a price for a room but then add a $25 per day non optional destination fee when you check in. This is outside of taxes and other government fees. It is just a way for them to advertise a lower price per night then charged a higher rate. They explained that I could use that to pay for internet service or food service in their restaurant. As this was just an overnight stay I didn't have the need or opportunity to use either. Instead I felt CHEATED. To add insult injury I was charged tax on the fees. SLEEZY business practice. I will definitely reconsider future stays at Embassy suites and other Hilton properties. At a minimum I will ve watchful for this in the future. 1 million mile traveler.
- 5/5
A few hidden fees but overall great experience.
- 5/5
Exceptional breakfast. Clean. Incredible view from room.. Close to Michigan Ave and Navy Pier. Allowed us to checkin 3 hours early for free.
- 2/5
Here’s what really irritates me. The hotel charges you a food fee of $25 that you can spend in the expensive restaurant on the first floor. It’s a destination fee or something. NO WHERE ON EXPEDIA DO YOU MENTION THIS!!!! I am sure all the hotels are doing it in Downtown Chicago but it shouldn’t be a SURPRISE when you check in. We will Never go back. Just plain stupid.

Great experience - Staff was super friendly and helpful. I had an issue with my heater in m room - Chris the engineer came right up - he was so friendly and got it fixed quickly. Loved the text messages checking in with me - great way to communicate. Breakfast buffet was incredible - Chef and omelet bar was so friendly and nice!

It is a clean room and breakfast and the drinks and it was so nice in the inside the hotel

One elevator was out of service. Making long wait lines. Had to use stairs with a lot of luggage in hand
- 3/5
Requested a birthday amenity, never showed up. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Pool was an amazingly warm temperature, but be careful of that floor. There is no grip when trying to open the locker room doors. Breakfast was plentiful with many options. Ordered dinner and had to have remade due to hair in the food, but was corrected very quickly. Good food overall. Wonderful location for being able to walk to many places throughout the city. Navy Pier was only a 10-15 minute walk. Parking ramp situation was a little snug.
- 4/5
Great place but could use renovation Staff is friendly.....WiFi is mediocre at best
- 4/5
The main issue we encountered was with the elevators. Although there are four elevators in the building, only two were working upon our arrival, and by the morning this was reduced to just one. This made it very difficult to get up and down from the 14th floor and caused significant delays. That said, I appreciate how the situation was handled. The manager personally called me to apologize and offered compensation for the inconvenience. He was very courteous and responsive, which helped make up for the issue. Overall, a good experience with excellent service, but the elevator situation definitely needs improvement.
- 4/5
The breakfast was awesome, the staff provided great customer service. They one issue was only one elevator was working. Everything else was great.

The room was clean, but it was clear that it is older and could benefit from some updates. In particular, the bathtub showed noticeable signs of rust. Breakfast was good.

The only downside was the elevator; it was always crowded.”

The hotel is well located, noce views of the city.

- 5/5
Staff and service workers were courteous and helpful.
- 2/5
The roooms are clean. However we had to spend a lot of time waiting for them to fix other items in the room. The hair dryer was missing, the safe was broken, the sope and lotion dispensers were missing. On top of that the air conditionig went out of service from 8 PM to 7 AM the next day for emergency repair. The hosekeeping phone always went to voicemail and never called back.

Great job!

The rooms were pretty loud and the bathroom was a little outdated but it wa very clean and a perfect location to everything!

- 3/5
Food was ok.
- 5/5
Loved the drinks in evening and breakfast variety. May May took my omelette order and was so pleasant and kind!
- 3/5
Yes the breakfast menu was fresh. However there was no communication stating that the breakfast ended at 9:30 as opped to 10am. We missed it on Monday
- 3/5
Our fridge was not working and ended up wasting a bunch of leftovers and snacks that we bought for the stay. Batteries in remote were just about shot. Suspicious stains on "clean" towel. Elevators under maintenance, leaving only two open. Made for stupid long wait times for elevator. Great area, just kinda disappointed in the hotel stay. They did make the fridge situation right (I guess) by reimbursing the destination fee.
- 2/5
Down elevators 30 min waits so many extra charges not mentioned beds uncomfortable not enough face clothes blankets or pillows for a room that sleeps 4

Staff was extremely helpful. Location is fantastic. Super family friendly. Amenities are top tier!

Great location. Very busy. Only one elevator for everyone. The room was clean, spacious, worth every penny.

Everything it’s good
- 5/5
Breakfast was great the best continental breakfast I’ve had yet.
- 5/5
Great breakfast selection. Walking distance to so many attractions. Staff was amazing to work with when we needed some things!
- 5/5
The breakfast buffet was great with good selections, made to order eggs & delicious Seattle Best coffee. The staff was helpful and professional and we loved the happy hour between 5:30 and 7:30 PM with 2 complimentary drinks for adult, juices, soft drinks and snacks. The location is perfect! We will definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
The breakfast was good. For the hot bar everyday was the same thing, would have been nice for a little more variety with that. One set of elevators were not working and during busy times such as checkout it was hard to get on an elevator. The staff was amazing! Two free drinks from the bar each night was a nice perk. Great location.
- 3/5
Wasn’t expecting to get hit with a 200 dollar incidental fee plus other stuff that you are forced to take even if u didn’t want them
- 5/5
Staff was efficient and friendly. Pool was great after a long day of driving.
- 2/5
The bathroom had clear water damage on doors and walls with no fan. Wallpaper was peeling off. Half of the elevators were closed. Check in was at 4 pm and a super slow line with only one worker who took 10 minutes per new guest. People seemed to be partying late even on a weeknight. I regret not staying at the Omni for the same price.
- 4/5
Very crowded with families on spring break, which likely means the rooms were priced competitively. The pool is small. All staff except one were friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
My only marks against the stay are that the pool was closed one of the days, and the elevators were being worked on, so there was often a line and a wait to use them. But the staff warned us about it upon check-in, so that made it more bearable.
- 1/5
Over crowd, elevators not working , busy
- 2/5
Breakfast bar was good. Our room had hair in the drain when we arrived so I don’t think our room was cleaned properly. One set of elevators was out of service and the wait time for the working elevators was extremely long- sound 10 min. Normally I would understand but I was told from someone at the hotel that they had been out of service since before Christmas and we stayed in the middle of March.
- 3/5
Breakfast had lots of options. Bathrooms needed major upgrade as they were very outdated and rundown. Beds were very comfortable.
- 4/5
Nice
- 3/5
Elevator was congested. Took up to 20 minutes to get down to the lobby. Due to only 2 of the 4 elevators were working. Room could've been cleaned better.
- 3/5
Breakfast was good for what was expected.
- 2/5
i wasnt given my room number at 4 pm. There was only 1 towel, no iron or ironing board.
- 4/5
Everything was great about the stay, except the elevators. 2 of the 4 were down for maintenance and it really congested the area, at some points making it impossible to get on.
- 4/5
Good value for families
- 5/5
Great breakfast and happy hour, overall nice place to stay close to everything!
- 2/5
there was free drink accommodation and only one person working on the bar, line was super long, didn't get our free drink.
- 3/5
Too many people at breakfast Staff good Elevators not working for the amount of people at the property
- 4/5
Everything was great except they only had 2 of 4 elevators operating and the waits for an elevator were very long
- 5/5
Great location, and really good free breakfast to start your morning.
- 4/5
The hotel gives very classic Chicago vibes; beautiful city and lake views and a stunning atrium and lobby. The breakfast was delicious and fresh! Just be sure to read all of the fine print and additional fees upon check-in. You are required to pay a mandatory $25 service fee which is deducted from your deposit at check out. They do offer a hotel credit towards dining or drinks, but if you don’t use it you lose it. Also of note they deducted our stay fees prior to check in and then the system automatically charged us again overnight prior to check out. I bank with a credit union so they immediately released the funds, but it would’ve been a nightmare trying to figure that out if they hadn’t as the hotel didn’t seem to concerned. I’ve heard to avoid this it’s best to use a credit card. Overall though it was a lovely stay.

The breakfast was ok, but one of the lady’s at the restaurant was profiling black folks by only asking black people for their breakfast coupons.

I love staying here! Nice location and nice rooms.
- 4/5
I had a 6th floor corner suite with great amenities--2 TVs, nice sofa, table, chairs, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The bed was in the corner part with nice windows. Everything was clean and in good working order. However, I was there on a weekend coinciding with spring break and the place was like a carnival with hundreds of families with lots and lots of kids. Two of the elevators were not working so I was lucky I could take the stairs from the 6th floor to the 5th (lobby level and atrium/food/drink area) and could then take a different elevator down to the street level. The place seemed a bit chaotic at peak (breakfast/happy hour) times. Staff were fine. Breakfast on weekends only starts at 7:30 and I was attending a conference whose sessions started at 8 so that was not ideal. But my main complaint was that the sound of elevators going up and down near my room (or under my room possibly from parking/ground level to 5th floor) was constant. Apart from that, the location is excellent, right across from Whole Foods and close to everything. The price and amenities were great but it was far noisier than I'd expected.
- 2/5
This hotel was dirty. The housekeepers never came to clean our room during our stay even after requesting multiple times. The staff was rude especially the cleaners and the bar hostesses. They did not have properly working elevators so I had to take stairs up to the thirteenth level, or wait in line for the elevator anywhere between 10-15 minutes anytime people wanted to use them because these was so much traffic due to non-working elevators.
- 4/5
Our room did not have a kitchenette, however the fridge and microwave worked well. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were clean. However, the elevator situation, at least during thus stay was less than desirable. The wait times were between 25-40 minutes to get up to the room. The large volume of people could not be adequately accommodated with one set of working elevators that often skipped floors despite the button being pressed.
- 4/5
We liked our stay here, and it was very nice! The staff members were focused on giving us the best experience. Overall it was very good!
- 3/5
The best part of this hotel was by far, the staff. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly, polite, engaging, genuinely cared about their guests, and would often remember you from day to day. The rooms and amenities were nice and the breakfast was great and always fresh. The only complaint we had was regarding the elevators. There were 4 elevators; 2 of which were out of order (which we were told is pretty typical by another guest). At least once per day, one of the 2 functional elevators would be out of service. One elevator, left for the entire hotel meant full elevators on the way down, so lower floors could not join and, at times, 30-45 minute lines just to get on to the one functional one. The elevators were also typically dirty, with spilled food, sticky substances, etc. on the floors.
- 1/5
The room was ok, although there were rust stains in
- 5/5
Great Location… Friendly servicemen
- 3/5
This was ok for the price and the location right next to a conference I was attending but it kind of made me wish I spent a little more money for something nicer. Half of the elevators were out of order resulting in having to wait in line for elevators either direction, especially in the morning. The “destination fee” was pretty worthless to me as I did not want to eat at the hotel and had plans with people for meals. The room was decent but for some reason the pillows were tiny, maybe 12”x12” which just was not very comfortable. I left the do not disturb sign on my door my first day since I was only staying 2 nights and didn’t want house keeping but when I got back to my room they had been in my room, which I thought was strange.
- 5/5
Broken toilet. Was assured that it was “Fixed” 4 different times. Horrible experience to an overall decent vacation. Would have changed rooms had we not been assured each time that they found and resolved the issue.
- 1/5
Horrible stay at this Embassy Suites. 2 of their elevators were down for remodeling. Fine. But when one of the 2 working elevators broke, it was beyond frustrating. Wait times to take the elevator approached a half and hour at times. I had to trek up to the 13th floor twice and countless times down because the wait was so long. It took all day and part of the evening to get the elevator fixed. Then, guests kept spilling condiments in the elevator. This happened 3 times. 2 of the times, it was cleaned up quickly. The third time it was left over night and into the morning hours. In addition, you have to take 2 banks of elevators to get to your room. It was a major pain to take two separate elevators everytime you wanted to go outside. The location was great, that's the only good thing I can say aboit this hotel.
- 5/5
Even on one if the busiest weekends in Chicago (st pattys day) the hotel staff and management handled everything wonderfully! The pool was warm, breakfast was kept full despite the sea of people there. Would definitely stay again!
- 3/5
The room we had was apparently old it could use a new bathroom door. We had a stained towel folded the shower curtain and tub was old. The tub needs to be resurfaced. The elevator broken

Stephanie was so Fantastic she was very understanding made the check in process incredibly fast. I loved the location plenty of things to do bowling, movies, dinner, Navey Pier, etc. One of the best experiences every the room was Awesome!!!
- 5/5
Customer service was great. There’s a great team working the front desk. Room was clean and held enough space for 4 adults and one child. Beds were really comfortable and slept great. Enjoyed the refreshments when we had time as well. Highly recommend staying there for a future visit.

Unruly guests
- 3/5
However, I must point out that over the weekend the hotel became very busy. People were yelling and running in the hallways, the pool area had over 80 people with some playing a ball and jumping into the water in the middle of little kids (there was also a person in the water wearing clothes including shoes), people fighting for table during the breakfast, weed smell in the corridors, 10 minutes waiting for the elevators (two out of four were out)… I can’t think about another word besides chaos! Not sure if it happens frequently or if it was a unique situation, but if it was not my wife I would have left right away! Anyway, after Sunday checkout all the situation changed and our stay turned into a great experience, which I surely would give five stars!
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and accommodating. The complementary breakfast was very good.

Elevator was broken, faucet wouldn’t cut off water dripped all night in the shower, there was plates of food in the halls from room service same plates from Friday until we checked out this morning I have photos, police activity on the scene didn’t feel save had my daughter, no one tries to help or assist with any of my issues it’s like they didn’t care and they charge all this money for fees all just to not give you your $200 hold back smh I willl NEVER book here again!
- 4/5
Everyone was very nice and it was super clean, but the pool was too cold and the elevators took forever. I believe half of them were closed due to renovation
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff
- 5/5
Customer Service was excellent
- 2/5
They only had 1 set of elevators that worked. We waited 35 minutes for to get on at one point. The tub also had not been cleaned and it looked like it just may be time to replace it. When we checked in we saw a plate of food in the hallway. The plates were still there when we checked out the next day.
- 2/5
The noise was very bad. Guests in the room next to us did not go to bed till 2am. They were very loud, made the smoke alarm go off. Fighting, singing happy birthday at 1250am. Just inappropriate, we paid a lot to stay in the hotel, plus parking which was not included.
- 5/5
Nice clean rooms! Nice staff and very convenient to have food and drinks.
- 3/5
Temperature controls were inoperative and the bathtub drain backed up so I had to stop the shower to let the water drain.
- 5/5
Clean room, great location, good ambience, excellent breakfast.
- 5/5
Great stay, parking is confusing though.
- 4/5
The weekend included a lot of families and parties. We ended up with a very loud party in the room next door. Two calls to security and the loud music and singing finally stopped around midnight. While security responded to our calls, this party missed the expectation of quiet time after 10:00 pm (I didn't call until 10:45). During the day, the pool was used by lots of young children in flotation devices--it would be nice to have an hour or two of adult swim time.

N/A
- 3/5
Without notification this hotel let me kno when I registered that they now add a $25 dollar convenience fee for things like internet and free drinks at the hotel. This was absurd. In addition a $65 dollar fee for self parking. Won’t do this again.
- 5/5
Only comment is that the dirty plates were left all day and night long outside the rooms. Not only on my room but in my floor.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Room was great, staff was awesome and very helpful.

Great
- 5/5
Room was awesome! Clean and huge! The breakfast was delicious and the cooks were super nice and accomodating. I will be staying at Embassy Suites again. Thank you!
- 4/5
I would caution people looking at hotels to consider EVERY tax, fee, and service charge that affects the bottom line of cost. There are many great things about this hotel including its proximity to attractions in the Streeterville area of Chicago, such as Eataly, Bally's Casino, Winter's Jazz Club, AMC Theatres, shopping at the Mag Mile, etc. The included buffet breakfast is excellent. The nightly manager's reception is great for alcoholic drinks, but the snacks are very meager. The main reason that I gave 4 stars is that we were charged a daily $25 destination fee of which we were unaware until we checked in. We had to use it each day for premium internet ($20) or at one of the two onsite restaurants or you just lost the credit. This charge really should appear in their overall charges when you register for the room. To me, it's just another made-up fee. But I wish I would have known about it up-front so that I could compare apples to apples when comparing hotels.
- 5/5
Don’t listen to any reviews saying the place wasn’t clean, was old, etc. We were fully satisfied with our stay. Room was huge and modern, hotel was clean and staff were friendly.
- 2/5
The room was dirty and raggedy.
- 2/5
One of the two elevators was down on a semi-busy weekend resulting in 10 minute waots
- 4/5
Elevators were down which caused long waits at the elevator so that was disappointing,
- 3/5
Only having half of the elevators functioning, meant long waits and lines.
- 2/5
Room was dirty. Beds are very small and uncomfortable. So many different elevator rides from parking garage to room. Terrible breakfast, same food each day. Little variety.
- 2/5
The room was cleaned. The issues that I had was maintenance on the water and sewerage during our stay. Plus told the water will be off between 10pm and 5am. What if I would like to take a shower during those times. Talk about inconvenience. Also, they required the customer to pay 25 dollars per day for either food and beverages or laundry services. Do not tell me how to spend my money at your establishment. I am very dis- satisfied and will not visit this hotel or any Embassy Suites anymore.
- 4/5
This hotel was extremely family friendly, which was great! However, the waits for the elevators were constantly horrible. The pool was also smaller than the photo made it appear. It was too crowded with kids so we didn't use it. The sound in the rooms was overwhelming because you could hear elevators and people being loud all night straight through the walls and even on other floors. The pull out sofa bed was very uncomfortable but the regular beds were great! The room was pretty clean. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was very gross, and options were limited even with a variety being available. Vegetarian/vegan options were very few, the scrambled eggs were watery and cold, the hashbrowns were mushy, and most of the food was very bland and unseasoned. I would say this hotel was more kid friendly than business friendly, but I suppose it could be both if the sound quality was improved because the rooms were spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. We were not told ahead of time to use the valet or how to park, so we parked in the parking garage, and walked our bags all the way around the outside of the hotel, taking a very scary elevator that shook horribly up to the lobby area. Next time I would absolutely use the valet and not have to walk around outside at night with suitcases. Overall would stay here again, but would probably bring ear plugs and eat elsewhere.
- 5/5
Stayed for two nights. Room was clean and quiet! Staff very friendly
- 5/5
Staff was great! Everyone was kind and professional despite a very busy time. They were able to accommodate an early check in for one of our two rooms which meant we could drop off all our bags, use the bathroom, and rest a bit before venturing out. The breakfast was also a great way to start our day.
- 2/5
Completely dissatisfied with my stay
- 5/5
We loved the made to order omelets!
- 5/5
We like the hotel, staff and accommodations were great, and it was exactly what we needed.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely helpful and accomendating
- 4/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Love the embassy suites
- 3/5
Initially the room appeared very nice but once we were settled my children found a sewing needle/pin laying on the carpet as they ran around. They were playing in the bed and bumped the headboard and tons of dust fell from the head board and the lamp that sat on the night stand. While asleep, I felt like something was crawling on me throughout the night. I had a sleepover for my daughter’s birthday I asked for extra towels blankets and pillows and I was given a hard time and or didn’t receive the items at all. The breakfast staff were extremely rude and carried nice nasty demeanors about themselves. It was a female chef whom specifically was very nasty towards my friend and I while ordering our omelettes I absolutely didn’t appreciate that. The only things I enjoyed about my stay were the pool, breakfast clean up staff specifically the black guys who I saw that belonged to the clean up crew, the bell hop gentlemen and check in staff were great, and the vouchers were a nice touch. My stay absolutely could’ve been better.
- 4/5
Room was clean and hotel is in a great spot. It was SO much bigger than we thought and we didn’t have to move our vehicle until we checked out. We’ll definitely stay here again. The staff were great and helpful as well.
- 5/5
Thank
- 4/5
Location is fantastic for Downtown. Hotel was clean and bright. Loved the free happy hour drinks and snacks. Breakfast had something for everyone and the cook to order station was perfect for a picky eater. Rooms were spacious and clean. Overall a great stay and we would stay again.

- 5/5
Absolutely an amazing experience!!!
- 5/5
The room was clean, the service was excellent, especially the made to order breakfast and buffet. I’ve stayed here before 3 years ago and it’s as great as I can remember.
- 5/5
Enjoyed easy app check in and out friendly people everywhere from staff to guests. Beautiful view from our room and fun city location. Comfortable bed and hot shower!
- 5/5
Prompt Service
- 3/5
The room was beautiful but absolutely freezing when we arrived. Turned on the heat and started getting ready for dinner it was taking a while to warm up but we could feel it was starting to work. Went to dinner. Came back to the room and it was still cold! The heat was set to 76! Staff said oh just let it warm up its freezing outside it might take a bit. I just laughed. That was a big issue I had otherwise it was fine.
- 1/5
The staff had a entire addituide and the last minute cth
- 4/5
Hotel is beautiful an clean but bed in 1301 is super uncomfortable and made me and my wife’s back hurt a lot
- 5/5
Easy, fast, and smooth. Thank you Mikayla
- 2/5
Was over charged $180 in addition to what the reservation was made for. Nobody can provide me with an itemized bill showing what additional charges are for. Half of the elevators were not working and had to wait 10-15 minutes to get to my room. It was on the top floor I wasnt about to walkn17
- 5/5
its very well located. rooms as usual very confortable.
- 2/5
1 more important thing in the rooms there were coffee machines and on the first day there were 2 decaf and 2 regular coffes(very tasty) on the next days they put coffees for the espresso machine not for the one which was in our room
- 4/5
Just very crowded. 15 minute wait for a drink. Even longer line in the morning for a fresh omelette. We did stay over a holiday.
- 5/5
The free breakfast was great
- 5/5
Friendly helpful staff.
- 5/5
Clean , amazing views from room, fast internet. The only issue was the elevator delays. 1 out of 4 elevators working. Ling wait during New Years and packed elevator.
- 3/5
Upon arrival, the lobby seemed clean and was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Unfortunately, my digital key was not working after checking in on the app, so I needed to stop at the front desk. Our family waited in line for 45 minutes. The staff member apologized for the wait and was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, again, 2 of the 4 elevators were down for repair. This caused a long line and wait times, especially at check in and out, as well as breakfast. The breakfast buffet was included with our stay. The food was okay and options included muffins, toast and bagels, cereal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon as well as juices and coffee. It was rough on the morning we went as there was a group of ten children with 1 adult getting food. This held up the line and there were mass amounts of people standing waiting. This same group also was piling the food on their plates, one person filling drink cups for their entire party, cutting in line and spilling the contents of their plates and cups as they walked back to their table. I believe the staff could have handled this party differently
- 1/5
Don't let hotel know you park at the parking lot which they suggest because this hotel charge extra more. Just pay yourself through the parking lot. Swimming pool water was sooooooooo cold. Can't go in the water. Elevator was broken. Check-in was so long. So slow.
- 3/5
The rooms were nice the staff very courteous. They had a lot of hidden fees that we were not aware of.
- 3/5
The hotel is very nice and the room was very spacious and well set up. A couple of things that stuck out. Two elevators makes the wait pretty long. Two bartenders/food order staff is pretty thin on a Saturday night. Also a little more information on the parking situation there would have been helpful.
- 3/5
Staff was amazing- the shower drain was slow and room can use an update
- 5/5
Loved being able to use the resort credits
- 5/5
Yes the room was spotless, and the staff was great
- 4/5
Friendly staff, breakfast, evening cocktails, quick service from staff,
- 3/5
Two of the elevators were not working causing long waits. The pool area was crazy, there were no towels at the pool area and way to many people in the pool creating an unsafe pool environment.
- 2/5
Very long waiting lines for elevators, breakfast lines. Extremely busy and noisy hotel. Bathrooms esp need remodeling, wear and tear on room is very noticeable. Chewed up sleeping couch very uncomfortable to sleep and sit on. Any staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and hardworking.
- 4/5
The lines to check in , breakfast, reception, and elevators were very long. Areas were not being cleaned as people were coming in and out. I believe the staff was doing their best but could not keep up.
- 5/5
Nice Hotel and a beautiful view from room
- 1/5
The check in was very inefficient
- 1/5
The rooms were mediocre with very basic beds. Nothing about the room was outstanding. The $300 Amazon mattress in our guest bedroom was more comfortable than the bed in the room. Breakfast was cold even when we were some of the first people down to eat. Definitely could have done better
- 5/5
The room and staff were exceptional … A+
- 2/5
Terrible staff - not friendly at all. Won't stay again
- 5/5
The hotel, staff, pool, and breakfast were great. Traveled with family, ages 7-13, everyone enjoyed. There are multiple elevators to navigate, as the property is pretty large, but overall the stay was great!
- 5/5
Everyone was room was excellent
- 1/5
Additionally, housekeeping entered our room WITHOUT KNOCKING and scared my poor granddaughter to death. They didn't even have the decency to stay and apologize. I have stayed at this location for several years but I am very disappointed. As it stands right now, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
- 2/5
The floors in pool area were extremely dirty, full of hair and were not cleaned when we came back the next day either. I wouldn’t swim or walk without shoes it was so bad. the elevators are a real problem. There are 2 working elevators to the entire property and we had to wait in lines every time we got on one. The elevator would come and would be full so you’d have to keep waiting. Once you’re on an elevator, it stops at nearly each floor while full because so many people are waiting to get on. There were no tables available during breakfasts. I never leave hotel reviews but this experience was not good. The rooms themselves were fine. Will not stay again.
- 2/5
The fridge wasnt working at all and the room wasnt cleaned properly there was cheetos on the floor and someones clothing was left behind in a chair, called downstairs nd only received a sorry about that
- 4/5
Most staff were very courteous! It was pretty chaotic & busy at check-in, breakfast & happy hour. One set of elevators under construction, wait for elevators was extremely long & we ended up taking a lot of stairs. Pool was also closed on the day we were able to swim, so that was a bummer. May try somewhere else next time…
- 5/5
The carpet in the room smells bad. House keeping came in and sprayed & vacuumed.
- 5/5
The omelet station was really good. The buffet food was fine and simple. Take the time and get the omelets.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
All good
- 2/5
Room was clean but was expecting two beds not one king and pull out sofa bed. Only 2 elevators were in operation...had to wait in long line or walk up 6 floors. Trash cans overflowing in and around hotel, dining and hallways. Our room was adjacent to working elevators so heard them all night long. Received text message about express check out. Provided email address per text. Never received copy of our bill. Tried calling hotel to request my receipt for stay, phone rings for over 2 minutes then hangs up. This place is horrible
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great location and service
- 5/5
Great hotel staff and location.
- 4/5
Rooms were great, staff was professional and the morning buffet breakfast was nice.
- 4/5
The breakfast was wonderful in the morning.
- 3/5
All staff members were very friendly, and helpful. I’m not sure what the situation was regarding a set of the elevators being down but that was one of many problems. Please give your staff recognition for being amazing and always having a positive attitude during all the chaos.
- 1/5
They over charged me . On top of what I paid for night stay there was another charge . Still waiting on answer to that .
- 5/5
Everything in room was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Spending the holiday weekend in Chicago with two of our kids and their boyfriends made the trip extra special, and Embassy Suites played a big part in creating such a memorable experience. Everything from the accommodations to the overall atmosphere was just what we needed for a relaxing and fun family getaway. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago!
- 5/5
Always happy to stay there.
- 4/5
Blanket was dirty from the previous guest
- 3/5
Staff is great. Hotel needs major maintenance. Elevators down for weeks. Leak showers. Bad shape bathroom doors. Missing door stops. The worse part was the elevators on the busiest time of the year. It took us 1 hour to get down from 17 floor, and 1 hour and a half to check out.
- 5/5
Did not eat there
- 1/5
Lastly, a mandatory $25 charge was adde to our room per night. The charge could be used at the hotel bar, their restaurant which could only be redeemed at lunch time or dry cleaning. I was not happy to be charged $75 with a very limited way to spend the funds.
- 3/5
Waiting for the elevator was terrible and made for long lines. The happy hour was much appreciated and breakfast was ok. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Elevator was awful.
- 1/5
Disney land lines for elevators and breakfast. Had to take stairs 5 flights to get too and from room. 2 elevators broken. Our room smelled but the line at front desk was too long to go change it. Hotel was grossly unprepared for a traditionally busy time of year making for an unpleasant experience for everyone.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Everything about the hotel was great except for the elevator not working everything was great
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, lovely views and room and wonderful breakfast!
- 4/5
Everything was good the room was clean and the food was delicious
- 1/5
My tub had hair in it and the blankets on the sofabed had like food stains
- 5/5
All was wonderful
- 4/5
Room size was great!
- 2/5
A lot of extra fees I wasn't expecting, and breakfast was not good. I got double-charged for parking. The toilet was messed up when we first got there, and only one elevator was working at the time of our stay..
- 3/5
One of the busiest weekends of the year and they were down to 2 elevators. That’s was hard all weekend. Pool overly crowded no fault of the hotel but unruly children screaming on the top of their Lu gs made it hard to stay in the pool area. Yes parents were with them but seemed oblivious. Breakfast great Overall hotel is nice. Would choose a different weekend next time
- 3/5
Only two elevators with people packed like sardines and elevators stopping at every floor with elevator packed already made no sense. Breakfast hours should be extended due to poor elevator efficiency for hotel guests. Out of bacon, out of pancakes line stopped and we waited and waited and waited. Manager useless
- 5/5
I enjoy this place eveytime i stay there
- 3/5
Elevators
- 4/5
Overall it was a good stay. We just had a couple of issues of the toilet backing up and at BF test when we arrived we couldn’t into our room because the battery died in the door sensor. So that took time to get handled after thinking the card wasn’t activated and had to take two trips to front desk from the 13th floor.
- 3/5
Additional fees not listed when booking. Hotel not in great shape, all elevators not working 😕
- 1/5
Staff
- 1/5
Check in process was slow. Only two elevators for an extremely high volume of people staying at the hotel. It took 10+ minutes to get an elevator each time. I didn’t have the option to use the stairs because I had a stroller. Not enough tables available to eat breakfast nor have drinks in the evening. Upon checking out with baggage and kids (and a vomiting baby and vomiting husband), staff was trying to sell guest something on an iPad which made the check out process take a really long time. Although I really liked our room layout, I will not be quick to book here again.
- 1/5
Room was great. Spent nearly an hour in line just to check in, only to wait another 15 minutes in line to get on the elevator to the room.
- 5/5
Only issue with embassy suites is the way their managers reception has gone down hill. Used to be what I looked forward to. Appreciate the free drinks, but the snack selection has gone down hill. Still always my first choice, but sometimes the extra cost has to be justified thanks to the breakfast! Still the best
- 4/5
The 3 sets of elevators from parking to room
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and clean! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially the bartender and Phillip. Excellent service and walking distance toward most attractions and a gorgeous view of the city. I will definitely be booking again!
- 2/5
It wasn’t clean
- 4/5
Everything was nice but the non working elevators and having to use the stairs in a building this size on a busy weekend was not ideal. There should have been some sort of compensation for that
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay
- 3/5
No. Food was cold. Not appropriate utensils nearby.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Thank you.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff, overall good stay
- 3/5
The location was good and the room was fine, comfortable but dated. There was a lot of construction in the hotel, had to walk all the stairs because the elevators were under construction, and they were long lines everywhere. For the high cost, I would stay somewhere else next time.
- 5/5
Great breakfast. Welcoming stuff. Nice room . Able to check in early. Great location .
- 2/5
Daily Destination fee that they claim is mandatory by Hilton but it’s nothing more than a money grab and profit booster. Choose a different Embassy Suites or hotel.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room. Great breakfast included.
- 3/5
Over the weekend, the hallways smelled of weed. Otherwise no unpleasant smell but a lot of room services dishes and plates left in the hallways for more than 24h. Also the wait time for the elevators were excessively long on the weekend. Finally, the 2 bellmen downstairs need a refresher on professionalism as we inquired about taxi to the airport and they happily offered to call “their (embassy hotel) own driver” and quoted us a fixed price which we agreed to. A regular city cab arrived, and ride was smooth to the airport until were made to pay more once we arrived. Hard to contest any of this when we have 2 young toddlers to worry about.
- 4/5
Elevators we’re getting worked on, took a really long time to get one
- 5/5
Great location. Easy to walk to most places. Clean. Updated. Friendly helpful staff
- 1/5
Half of the elevators didn’t work it was impossible to get in and out. Breakfast was terrible with gross food and way over crowded. Like impossible to get a table. Sketchy characters in and out of the elevators. Bathroom needs a new bathtub and door totally broken. This was way overpriced for what we got. Also ordered room service (a warm chocolate chip brownie) was supposed to have ice cream candied cherries and pecans. It was cold, had caramel syrup and none of the things that the menu said. Basically, everything was a huge disappointment and we will never stay there again.
- 3/5
Breakfast was ok bacon was fried hard space was over crowded really no where to sit the elevator was terrible took us 30 mins to get down to the main floor so we check out
- 4/5
It was great! I would stay there again😊
- 3/5
The ONLY Reason for the mediocre review is because after our room was cleaned, the iPad was gone. Nothing satisfactory from the desk and It’s been a long time since I’ve had anything stolen. Very frustrating. I wish we had booked a little closer to Michigan ave because of the cold. But that is nothing anyone could control!
- 5/5
Courteous staff and room was ready a little early
- 3/5
Property has some challenges, we did not get the corner room that we had reserved, they upgrade us to a premium room however no premium benefits, they did not tell us about this at check in, only after i asked about the room and why things was missing, room, bathroom door was damaged and had to force to close, no vent in batherroom, short on towels and blankets sheets for the second bed, and apparently there is a destinations fee now 25.00 per night, They did give s food voucher to compensate. Two of the elevators was off line to going to breakfast or to the room tool 20 t 30 minutes to go back and fourth, better to park at airport or cheaper parking location than park at the motel, very expensive, staff was friendly,
- 4/5
Overall value for money
- 5/5
Rooms are great!
- 5/5
Friendly, clean and snacks in the room
- 4/5
Staff were very nice + accommodating, breakfast was good (long lines). Often only one of the four elevators was in service. Very convenient location. Would return.
- 5/5
The check-in staff was kind and polite!
- 5/5
Their Christmas decor definitely needs an update!!
- 4/5
The suite was really nice, the view was great, loved the nice and kind staff.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Lovely stay
- 5/5
Very friendly and welcoming
- 3/5
Breakfast was good but I’d recommend the chefs line if you want anything with eggs. The room was clean but the temperature gauage is locked so you can turn up or down!! This caused us to all sleep poor as it was hit in the room.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Amazing place!!
- 3/5
The food was yummy and staff were very nice.
- 2/5
"higher floor"= middle floor... the room looked wornout, the mattresses felt like they have been there for ages. There are only one set of elevators (2 elevators total) to service 17 floors of rooms... ridiculous. During one wait it took almost 20 minutes to find space on an elevator to go down (don't wait till last minute for breakfast). Breakfast was a madhouse, no trays, no drink carriers, no spoons, one toast machine, eggs had no flavor, hash was just blanched potatoes no color what so ever, bacon was decently cooked though and the staff was trying their best definitely a shame they don't have any support from Hilton to provide a better product. The last criticism is the action that will have me avoid Hilton products all together in the future. It feels fraud adjacent when a hotel charges for something not advertised on the booking site, thus not being able to determine if you want to book this hotel until you arrive and have little to no alternatives.
- 4/5
Good visit. Good Breakfast. Enjoyed having the $25/Day credit and 2 free drinks every evening. Will make better use of both next visit.
- 3/5
Having only two elevators with that many people staying was horrible. When I arrived 5 minutes early before checking room was not ready. Which I was very tired and unhappy. The sink in the room wouldn’t drain filled up while brushing my teeth and 30 min later still full. Horrible pillows. Beautiful hotel and clean.
- 5/5
Room and hotel were very clean. All staff were very helpful and polite. Included breakfast was great with omelet bar. Enjoyed included 2 drinks and light snacks at happy hour.
- 1/5
Check-in process horrible Everything was absolutely horrible -5 stars
- 5/5
Very clean, very nice staff!
- 5/5
The place was great. Always a great stay.
- 3/5
One of the elevators was out of service so it would easily take over 10 minutes to leave the floor. It was awful. The only working elevator was packed and took forever. It was not good.
- 5/5
Great staff and great hotel.
- 5/5
Perfect for stay with family and very beautifully decorated. Loved it! Food variety can be changed.
- 4/5
I was not sure i had to check for water while booking the room. this is the first time i am facing this. Breakfast was delicious. room was clean.
- 1/5
I got there and they gave away the room I reserved then tried to charge me for a smaller room
- 5/5
Great Staff, great room with the view. Great breakfest and drinks.
- 4/5
Stayed here for 2 nights in November. Bell hop staff very helpful and friendly (thank you, Rashad!). Great complimentary breakfast buffet with hot food choices. Makes up for subpar lunch/dinner options. Restaurant staff very quick and efficient. One set of elevators were not working during our stay, fortunately we were Ok to do stairs with our young kids. Would stay again.
- 5/5

Great view!
- 5/5
Yes great
- 5/5
Clean. Nice. Amazing view
- 5/5
Everyone was very pleasant
- 1/5
Massive hotel, but not set up for so many guests. The morning buffet had really long lines to get food or seat at a table. Had to wait for a while to get in elevator. We had a party next door, and could hear everything until 3am, front desk was not able to contain situation. They are trying to sell you memberships every time you pass reception area.
- 4/5
Location to the downtown
- 5/5
All of the hotel amenities were great, easy access in and out of hotel. All staff members were excellent to interact with.
- 4/5
Bathrooms need to be better sanitized and cleaned

Great location. Great breakfast and happy hour.
- 5/5
Nice hotel!!
- 3/5
Breakfast was good
- 4/5
The suite was great except closet was insufficient. It was a very small space shared with the water heater. Only 4 hangers. Wardrobe closet door inaccessible because it stuck.
- 5/5
Very nice staff
- 5/5
Big selection including made to order options
- 5/5
Stuff very friendly
- 5/5
Always our go-to. Fair pricing, centrally located. Great breakfast with made-to-order omlettes.
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly. Very clean hotel. Definitely would stay again.
- 2/5
Friendly Staff, 10+ minute wait for elevators, room ok not worth the money, extra payment due for parking on top of what was already paid
- 5/5
Very nice hotel but there are a LOT of people who stay here, elevators/ meals busy, but place is incredibly nice.
- 5/5
The hotel has beautiful view, the elevator are extremely fast, the staff is cordial and helpful. The hotel is in the heart of the city, and I highly recommend it.
- 4/5
Parking is hard to find and very expensive.
- 5/5
Perfect location great hotel
- 4/5
The sofa bed was caved in
- 4/5
We did need to switch rooms because we were by the elevator shaft and it drove me insane. Plus there was an awful smell. The front desk was way more than accommodating and helpful though. Loved the breakfast variety and the nightly reception was fun. Perfect location!
- 3/5
It’s wasn’t a clean hotel to me, hair was in the bathtub, it had a little of holes that was covered but not in the best way. The good was not good and the free breakfast wasn’t passable, we ate there one time and was there for 5 days, so that says a lot. We was charged a resort fee and it’s not a resort, when I mentioned it, one of the employees said this is Chicago, we can do that lol ok but to park was $60 a day, ok not understanding this. It’s a first and a last lol but we went for my daughter graduation and it’s done. I didn’t take pictures of the hotel because I won’t be back but it served this purpose.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Clean rooms, staff was present hotel is in a great location
- 5/5
Helpful staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful family stay for a weekend downtown. Room, lobby, and pool were clean and well maintained. Staff was constantly available to upkeep common areas and were very quick and receptive to any requests. Room (suite) was spacious and comfortable. Food quality at breakfast was excellent and lots of options available. The poolside sauna was a fantastic surprise as well. Will absolutely be back next time we are in town.
- 5/5
Awesome!!!
- 4/5
Very good place to stay.
- 4/5
The room was excellent except the conditioner bottle was broken and never fixed
- 5/5
Great stay. Central to all the city attractions. Great view of the lake, the Hotel was excellent. I will definitely be returning.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious coffee in room. Pleasant staff, great breakfast.
- 5/5
Clean Room
- 5/5
Great hotel in a fantastic location with complimentary breakfast and drinks at the bar.
- 3/5
It was very good area for shopping
- 2/5
By accident we left my wife pants in the closet, after checking out, we noticed that the pants were missing, we were 100% sure that the pants is left in the closet, but the hotel staff insist that they can find it or locate it without even checking or investigate the issue, it is very obvious that the person who cleaned our room after we checked out is the person who take the pants or in other word steal it, management really needs to take responsibility and serious action to stop these behaviors, from what I noticed during my communication with different management and staff that they either don’t care or otherwise something wrong is going on, for that reason, I don’t feel safe to stay at this hotel again and I don’t recommend this hotel for any one.
- 5/5
The concierges on duty were also helpful and engaged with us about of travels.
- 5/5
location but breakfast quality was lacking
- 4/5
The room was clean, comfortable and staff were great. Unfortunately, the condition of the property was a bit tired, The restaurants were understaffed and food was mediocre.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
The staff are so kind and helpful. We had a wonderful stay. We will definitely stay here again!!! Great experience!
- 4/5
The air conditioning doesn't work and the room smells
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed. The carpets may have to be cleaned because there was a smell when I walked into the room. Otherwise, it was fine.
- 4/5
Large rooms, well maintained and serviced everyday. Lots of complimentary services that I personally couldn’t enjoy but were popular among guests.
- 3/5
There are additional charges (25+tax per night) upon arriving at the hotel. Breakfast was below average quality, some fruits have gone bad and they still place them in the tray. Room service does not replenish facial tissues and had to call to ask for more. The 'premium wifi' can lose connection from time to time. The sofa bed I slept on make a squeaking sound whenever I move. The lobby can be noisy till midnight, which is unfriendly for people trying to go to bed early.
- 1/5
When I asked not to pay they advised that it is not really a refundable fee.
- 5/5
We came to Chicago for a Cubs game and a concert and loved the hotel. Would definitely recommend it.
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
The overall experience was a great. Except when I had some setbacks at the airport I had to arrive a day after my husband and kids. The guy at the front desk would not allow them to get the reservation because I was not there. It was a little stressful because it was 1100 at night and the guys said he couldn’t do anything. Expedia was great at quickly changing the name on the reservation and they were able to get the room. Besides that every was great, breakfast, pool. And even keeping our luggage so we could walk around after check out.
- 1/5
The room was stinky and the shower had molds. I was scared to be in the room but had no choice , I would of list my money if I canceled last minute cause of the uncleanliness
- 5/5
Great location, good breakfast, and friendly staff!!
- 2/5
I am so disappointed with this embassy suites, no one clean the bathroom ,sink and floor. won't stay this one anymore
- 4/5
However, I was disappointed to find out at check-in that there is a daily “destination charge” of USD 25 per suite. While it can be used as credit for food and beverages at the hotel, as a tourist visiting Chicago I had no interest in being forced to consume at the hotel. This fee should be communicated more transparently before booking.
- 5/5
For the most part we enjoyed our stay. The split lobby elecators is not conveneint
- 5/5
Great experience. Will go back
- 5/5
Great location. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast. Highly recommend for families.
- 5/5
Excellent. Staff, great location. Stayed here several times always the same level of service
- 4/5
Is close to many restaurants and navy pier
- 5/5
The entire experience was extremely enjoyable. Stephanie was what customer service is all about.
- 5/5
I was hesitant to book because of the negative reviews that I read. So glad I did. The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast was very decent for a complimentary breakfast. If we ever visit Chicago again I would def book again.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly. The room is a little bit outdated.
- 4/5
Get a room high up and not on Columbus. Fire and ambulances constant. Other than that it was great
- 3/5
The outside was beautiful, staff friendly, for the cost the room was not worth it to be honest. On top of it, there were payment issues that now has my account negative.
- 4/5
Great location for eating and shopping. Lots of options for eating and shopping that you can walk too. The riverwalk is also a short walk away. Staff was friendly, room was quiet and clean, the evening happy hour was nice to sit and have a couple free drinks while you plan your evening. The breakfast was convenient, and good if you want something in you before heading out, but it was the same thing everyday. Some sliced deli meat and cheese, or sandwich station would have made it even better. Overall great stay
- 4/5
Rooms need some updating.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
awesome
- 5/5
This was our first visit to Chicago and the hotel staff were excellent in assisting us with visiting the great sites. I think that they went far and beyond to accommodate us. Will diffiently recommend this location.
- 5/5
Excellent suites. Wonderful full breakfast. Very busy. The happy hour is a superb added bonus. Pool is small and was closed when we tried to use it a second time. The water is warm when working. Front desk was a little distracted upon check in but after that we experienced nothing but great staff. Would stay here again, although I did find out they started implementing a $25 per night resort fee. We booked before that started, but fair warning, it’s there now. $500 hold will be placed on your CC so be prepared.
- 3/5
Convenient location but on site dining options are not great. With kids, needing a midday snack or a coffee, you have to step out. Rooms are run down
- 5/5
def goin there again when i visit later on
- 5/5
Best hotel ever! Great service, great people and the rooms are excellent!
- 4/5
I liked happy hour and the many options at breakfast.
- 4/5
Great location. The hotel is fine. It's clean and comfortable and has a large lobby and is attached to a good restaurant. It seems a bit old and needs some modernization.
- 4/5
Everything was great except the beds. I found the mattress to be very uncomfortable and the pull out which we HAD to use was just awful, like it was original from the 80s. No padding just a bar in the middle of your side. Come on Hilton upgrade those mattress!
- 3/5
Nice property to stay at. I stayed at another location, which was a tad bit better. Elevator situation was crazy, but still nice hotel. A lot of hidden fees so be careful.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with big rooms that you don't often find in a large city. Very family-friendly (lots of families there the same week). Breakfast is good. Rooms could use a bit of an upgrade but are not bad overall. Location is fantastic - just a block from Riverwalk and three/four blocks from Navy Pier.
- 5/5
Management staff is excellent
- 5/5
Check-in was easy. We walked up at the end of happy hour but the bar tender made sure to take care of us. Everyone we encountered was friendly. Hotel was very nice but you could see the places that were beat up. Overall though, would stay there again. The location was perfect for what we were wanting to do.
- 4/5
everything
- 5/5
The atrium-like center and the elevators.
- 5/5
What's not to like! The staff is amazing they are all hard workers and I always stay at this hotel only!!
- 5/5
The stay at this place was amazing. Not only they had a delicious breakfast, but this hotel is near almost every attraction downtown. The service is impeccable.
- 4/5
It was within walking distance of many of our destinations.
- 3/5
Hated the pull out bed. I could not sleep. I kept feeling the metal bars.I was disappointed that the “FREE” breakfast was actually a charge. My husband’s back is still sore from the pull out bed
- 4/5
The breakfast is great- many options but long line to get the custom omellette. They also offer the happy hour two free drinks including mocktails - SO cool. Love that ambiance in the center of the hotel- can breathe a little and feel less clausterfobic. The double bed room had a beautiful partial lake view AND the couch is a perfect area to get ready… very nice sized room! Centrally located close to the navy pier and mag mile- we shopped a little at ZARA. The parking structure was a little weird to find and get into but we figured it out. Fridge and microwave included. Wish they offered bottled water in room! Otherwise amazing would stay again!
- 4/5
Great happy hour and breakfast. Comfortable beds. Keys did not work 4 different times and it took a lot of time to get them reprogrammed.
- 5/5
The free breakfast is way above what you would normally get and the evening happy hour was amazing. Bartender was awesome
- 5/5
Roberts Dough Pizza is around the corner - and delicious. We had a clean room. The area was safe with children - I'd stay again.
- 5/5
Great for kids. Great location
- 5/5
Will return one day again
- 4/5
Happy
- 4/5
We loved this place. Everything was walking distance. Parking at the hotel was super convenient. Bathrooms didn’t have fans so it did get stuffy in there but other than that the room was great. Breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Breakfast was amazing
- 5/5
A+ hotel!
- 5/5
Check in was slow and I felt bad for the desk help checking in every one. Once we finally were helped by Albert for checking in which he was very helpful and great! Our room was nice and clean it does need updating the shower had lots of wear and caulking! But it did have great water pressure and stayed hot! The evening reception was perfect the gentleman that was serving drinks that evening was fun, the lady however, seemed to not want to be there actually kind of rude! The snacks were great and plentiful! The beds were comfortable and we had a suite and our son slept on the pullout couch very roomy for a suite very nice. The breakfast was awesome. Everything was kept clean, filled and hot and all the workers were very pleasant. Overall, a great family weekend getaway.
- 5/5
One of the best hotel stays I've ever had. Highly recommend! Great place, great staff, great location.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent. Check in was quick and hassle free. Great access for parking and in & outs were easy with license plate recognition. Wonderful perks $25 @ day for food and a large array of choices from the restaurant/bar, evening snacks and drinks and full breakfast buffet along with made to order food. We would give it 10+ stars
- 5/5
Bed comforts
- 4/5
Pool was small. Rooms were not quiet, but clean. Breakfast was good
- 3/5
No onsite wheelchair van parking, difficult disability access with two different elevators long distances apart in order to access room, bathroom door broken and completely unable to use.
- 5/5
Our room wasn’t cleaned very well but it was okay for staying the night in
- 4/5
Family traveling and fit everyone well and the meals. Front desk was helpful!
- 3/5
The walls of this property are very thin. You can hear a regular volume conversation happening in the next room. This is incredibly annoying when that conversation is happening at 2 am. The property is dated and somewhat dirty and dingy. The staff were friendly and helpful for the most part.
- 5/5
Property is close to Michigan Ave, Chicago River, and Millennium Park. Plus Walgreens, Whole foods, and Target all within a block. Surrounded by too many great restaurants to list them.
- 3/5
We called to let hotel know we will be arriving late but wanted to make sure they have our room type reservation which was a double double in a high flr with lake view. Upon arrival they got our res mixed up and we ended up with a King for three adults on the lowest floor w no view. The room apparent serviced and we found some horrible things left behind like barf on the phone cradle. The room didn’t have usual amenities like slippers and microwave, beverage set up, etc. our calls were unanswered and we finally had to go downstairs to front desk. When staff finally brought slipper, that person knocked on the door and ran off. I had to pick up the slippers off of the floor when I opened the door. Stephanie did try to rectify the situation and gave us a bit of a discount on the room but IMO for this horrible experience it should’ve been 100% comped.
- 5/5
The breakfast was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. The suites were good size.
- 5/5
Excellent staff. Extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfext for all the things we did while in Chicago.
- 4/5
The location is absolutely fabulous. The breakfast included was great. Bed was comfortable. I had to go to the front desk to get help for internet access. Wi-fi was spotty. It just could have been my phone. Not sure. The service was spectacular.
- 3/5
The food was amazing. The rooms, however, need complete revamps. They are in very poor condition. The couch had stains on it and was torn, the bathroom felt dirty and the door was off it’s hinges. The carpeting in public areas felt dirty. It needs attention to make it an enjoyable stay.
- 4/5
Rooms need a little TLC, our bathroom was a little gross. Breakfast was great and the two free drinks were a nice.
- 1/5
Lots of noisy, it was like a park ,the breakfast area was full and dirty , lots of noise , poor service , they didn’t clean the rooms , no water after 11 pm ,terrible experience
- 4/5
They staff was great and very attentive. I would definitely stay again!
- 3/5
We have stayed at this property multiple times over the years. The facilities continue to age and this stay it felt understaffed. We requested an extra blanket during our stay and were informed they had no extra blankets. Breakfast and evening reception were incredibly crowded with limited seating. I think we will be finding a new place to stay when in Chicago.
- 1/5
Never in our 2 days stay they ever came for cleaning, when we had specifically asked them. Could not lock the door for bathroom, the shower pressure was 5% of what you'd see elsewhere, etc etc. Plus, the breakfast is horrible at best. Would give 0 star if that was an option. Stay away!
- 4/5
It was a great location, walkable to Navy Pier and Millenium Park, had a WholeFoods right next door. Free breakfast was a bonus for family of four. It’s definitely a little dated though. One elevator was acting weird, the carpet in our room had worn through in spots(maybe due to animals), some stains here and there, the shower heads weren’t working correctly. Overall, the property was good.
- 4/5
Very comfortable and clean
