Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its central location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, the small room size, lack of amenities such as a refrigerator and microwave, and issues with maintenance are common complaints.

the only issue i had it was that they didn’t do room service in the room, no new towels , no toilet paper and stuff like that

We had an appalling stay. We arrived late-ish - around 11pm - due to a delayed flight. Only to discover the hotel had over-sold the rooms. They did not have the room we had booked - and paid for - (a king bed on high floor) as they had sold it. Instead we were put in a tiny room with a Queen bed, not much more than a store cupboard. The staff were largely unapologetic and did not seem to really care. They suggested that - if we had arrived much later - all the rooms would have been occupied and we would have had to go elsewhere. It was astonishing. Others guests arrived to check-in after us, and were told there were no rooms available. The staff offered us some drinks tokens (which already came with the booking!) and to waive the urban fee for one night. No real apology. No compensation. The next day we managed to move to the room we had booked, but staff were not very helpful in making this happen. Overall a shocking and terrible experience. I would strongly recommend people DO NOT STAY there.
- 4/5
The bed was comfortable. The room was small. The valet parking was a little confusing but it all worked out. Good location.
- 1/5
The room I had reserved was on top floor which I was expecting a view but the room had a small window facing some other building rooms.the room had issues at the beginning which was the toilet was wobbly and I saw a bug on the ceiling plus some spider web. The main issue was at the last night of the stay the AC of the hotel was not working and after several calls someone came and said it’s fixed and after they left the issue was not fixed and after calling the front desk 10 times I had to go down at midnight to see no one was there. The next day after having a bad night sweating I went to talk to the manager she was so unreasonable telling me that the issue was due to weather and they will be able to give us a very little compensation which didn’t make sense to me as I couldn’t sleep the whole night. Anyway do a better search and ont pay $300 for a night with this problems

everything.Maryna always make sure that my stay at the FELIX HOTEL is wonderful. She offers me hot chocolate in the winter time and coca cola and a muffin in the summer time and she makes sure I get upgraded from a queen room to a king room that's why I always come to the FELIX HOTEL because it fits my budget and its close to my house.I wouldn't sleep at any other hotel in Chicago. The Felix hotel staff is great. no complaints

Great experience!
- 4/5
The hotel offered only coffee/tea and fresh fruit until 9am. The staff made our stay more enjoyable.
- 4/5
Checking in and out is very smooth. Building is definitely older and although it has been renovated the age shows. The cleanliness of the room was fine, not terrible but not great. Location is great; in a quieter part of the city right near the hustle and bustle. It is right near public transport options.

Great stay
- 5/5
Great Location and good value for the cost.
- 3/5
This hotel was quite lackluster. The lobby was pretty, but the rooms were very bare bones. It was lacking things that are very standard across the board with hotels such as lotion in the room, lighting by the bed- there were no lamps by the bed and the only light switch for the whole room was all the way down a hall so I had to use a flashlight to get back to bed, no mini fridge in the room, bad bathroom lighting, and no surface area in the bathroom to put anything down. The AC kept turning itself off automatically, including when I was sleeping. The lobby was also not air conditioned, or maybe it was malfunctioning? They did provide free waters (not cold) and free espresso drinks, which was a nice touch. Overall, if I paid $150 a night, I would deal, but they were charging a small fortune for what felt like a crappy motel room. The location was walk able and nice.
- 5/5
Great location. You can walk to lots of restaurants and bars and Michigan Avenue. The lobby was a great place to hang out.
- 4.5/5
Hotel walking distance to local hot spots. Room were small and very pricey for the size.
- 3/5
Location Thought the room - even though we booked a deluxe room, lacked basics, there was no facility to make a drink - I thought at least a kettle (we had our own tea and coffee) unless you went down to reception to get hot water and perhaps a mini fridge would have been nice. So for the money I was disappointed as we were there for a few nights
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and hotel was very clean! It’s in a great location and we enjoyed our room a lot! I took off a point because when we asked for fresh towels, they never came to our room and we had to ask again. But overall very comfortable and pleasant stay!
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic. Our plane arrived late, we were starving, didn’t know where to go or even have a plan, and the staff jumped right in and directed us to the perfect place: Portillo’s. They came up with lots of great suggestions that fit exactly what we wanted to do and where to eat. The rates were very reasonable, it’s situated in the middle of downtown, lots of restaurants on the same block, and plenty of Chicago nightlife. I would definitely stay there again.

Central spot downtown, in walking distance to landmarks & amenities The room itself felt quite lofi, there was no mini fridge, no glasses, cutlery or any items & had to request from the bar downstairs should I wanted to grab a bite to eat. tMy room was connected to another room via a door & sound proofing was so poor that when the guests had the tv on I could hear clearly what was on, which wasn’t ideal when i wanted to get to sleep.
- 5/5
The staff were friendly and helpful.

- 3/5
It was ok- a little expensive for the amenities. Also charged 5$ a bag to hold luggage after check out for you. We stayed at the Silversmith the night before and it was cheaper, larger and much better. It was ok for a place to sleep.

My room was just okay. Location is great. Water pressure is just ok. Sink drain was stuck closed had to pry it out and leave it out all weekend. Shower design is goofy, water sprays all over the floor lol. The sink faucet was bizarre. Had like 2-3 inches under the water before your hands hit the sink? Almost zero place to put anything in the bathroom. Had a pedestal style sink, but a cheap vanity top from Home Depot would’ve been miles better. No idea why they went with this design. Nightstand drawer just casually stays open all the time. Other than that it was pretty decent. No major issues.
- 4/5
Very understaffed and few amenities. Accommodating when we needed to change rooms though.
- 5/5
Overall it was a great experience at Felix, everyone was very friendly and helpful, the store in the lobby is convenient and fairly priced and the room was clean and comfortable. Zero complaints. Will be back again for sure.

Location was great for site seeing. Bed was comfortable but only a thin blanket and most distressing for us was no coffee pot in the room. They do provide free coffee in the lobby that was good and free fruit (apples, bananas, oranges) so that was nice but no coffee in the room is just a bummer. Plus, street noise was significant all night but assuming that would be anywhere downtown. Overall was fine but wouldn't stay again.

I just had a 3 night stay. There is no daily housekeeping for the rooms. If you get the “breakfast voucher”, it’s just a small pastry or sandwich with a coffee or juice.

A decent buisness class hotel. No frills. Rooms are smaller, the queen beds are not true queens, and much smaller.

I felt so welcomed at the Felix Hotel. The location is super ideal and the staff is kind. This was my first time in Chicago. No noise issues, bed was comfortable, snacks are available for purchase downstairs. It was a quick trip and I had a great time. I would happy stay at Felix again. Thank you so much!

The location was perfect! So many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. Easy walk or public transport to Michigan Ave, Riverwalk, Navy Pier. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom had no counter space and the closet was a little awkward and on the smaller side. The overall room design was very run-of-the-mill hotel. But we were out and about most of the time, and overall it was a good experience.
- 4/5
Staff is excellent. Breakfast was below standards - muffins, fruit, juice, and a couple breakfast sandwiches the staff put in the microwave. I’d pass on the breakfast. Nice location. Rooms were okay - the bed in our room was full of cat scratches.

Location Room space is extremely small very unfortunately. Personal not that friendly.
- 1/5
Our room was directly next to the elevators and it was very noisy all night long. The AC would not go below a certain temperature and it was very warm in the room all night no matter how low the temperature was placed. The room was very small and did not provide a lot of comfort.
- 4/5
Ordered a high floor room and it didn't really seemed like a high floor. Overall, stay did it's job and the front desk staff is amazing! Hate that Everytime I went to the bar no one was available though.
- 3/5
The staff were fantastic! Very professional and helpful. We really appreciated that. They made the unpleasant hotel policies bearable. The lobby could use a bit of uplift to make it more welcoming. I found the design and furnishing subpar for a 4 star hotel. We found 3 hotel policies quite unpleasant: 1. No kettle in the room. Each time we wanted hot water, which was twice a day, we needed to go to the lobby to get it. 2. No complimentary use of hotel umbrellas. They charge about $5 to borrow it. That is exploitative. 3. Surcharge of $5 per luggage to keep it in the locker room after check out. Simply exploitative! This is just not decent, especially in so-called “hospitality” industry. Only hotel I have come across with such an unfriendly policy.

Very inviting and friendly staff. The premises were kept very well. I liked everything about my stay. The room was a bit small, but that is normal for the area. I would definitely stay again in a heartbeat. The only thing I did not like is that I attempted to check out one day early as my travel plans had changed. The hotel staff were unable to credit me with the extraneous night where the room was totally unoccupied. I do not fault the staff as it seemed something out of their control.

My experience was somewhat diminished by the mandatory Urban Fee added at check-in. I understand many hotels are moving in this direction, but travelers should be aware of the additional required cost when budgeting for their stay. Outside of that, the team and location were the highlights for me.

It was a nice stay. The room (1 queen bed) was a bit smaller and outdated than expected but it was manageable for one person. The view was okay. They provided complimentary fruit and tea so that was nice. The lobby is nice as well. Also, you have to request daily housekeeping. I would say that the walkability was the best part! Within 10 min walk to nice shopping and restaurants. I would stay again for solo travel.

I stayed at Hotel Felix for three days and honestly had a great experience from start to finish. The hotel has a stylish and cozy atmosphere, a perfect location, and everything in downtown Chicago was easy to reach. My room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, which made the stay even better after long days exploring the city. A very special thank you to Marina and Nika — they were truly incredible. Extremely professional, attentive, warm, and genuinely kind. Marina especially deserves special recognition. She has such a positive energy, amazing attention to detail, and a natural talent for making guests feel comfortable and appreciated. From the very first interaction, she made the whole experience feel more personal and welcoming. It’s rare to meet someone who is not only highly professional, but also so sincere, caring, and charismatic at the same time. They really create the feeling that you are not just another guest at the hotel, but someone they are sincerely happy to welcome. It’s rare to meet people who combine such a high level of service with real human warmth and care. Hotel Felix is definitely a place I would gladly come back to, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago.

If you’re up for walking, this hotel is a great place to stay close enough to most things.
- 4/5
The room was a little small, but fit my needs on a 3 day business trip. The bar downstairs served a limited breakfast... And had free fruit, and Coffee in the morning. The staff was extremely friendly, and very attentive to guests. In summary I would stay here again on business.
- 3/5
Place is in a great location but once you go past the lobby its very dated. Small rooms and had lots of trouble getting in touch with the front desk when we needed something.
- 4/5
My pet peeve about hotel rooms is typically around the design. In this cas le the rooms are sized fine In my opinion. The bathroom is large. So large that they could have actually put in a shelf or two or some sort of piece of furniture to put your toiletries on instead, I had to put them on the ground yuck. Then I go to brush my teeth and there’s no no glass. I love that the building has leed certification. Then they’re doing a terrible job at sustainability. I am very bothered by the amount of plastic used at breakfast alone. Plastic ware, food packaging, etc. And then the most worrisome thing in my opinion was Fox News playing 24x7 in the lobby. This alone would keep me from booking again.
- 4/5
The location was ideal -- everything was walkable and close to the CTA line when needed! The room itself was TINY. It is beneficial for someone who is only looking for a place to sleep.

I had wonderful interactions and service from the staff from check-in to check out. Jovan provided excellent care, suggestions for activities and was very welcoming during the stay. The room was very comfortable and I enjoyed the sitting area at the bar. Convenient location.

The room was so small than I expected. No refrigerator, no microwave, don’t have even a paper cup. I heard the cop’s silence and the music most of the time. I do not recommend.
- 4/5
It was good
- 3/5
The room was very quiet and the bed very comfortable. Couldn’t ask for more. If you want a great bar and restaurant, this is not the place. The front desk staff double as the restaurant staff and bar tender, who did not know how to use a cork screw. I had to open the bottle do him. Not their fault, just unqualified. The location is perfect for being close to many great restaurants and bars. AC was fine and quiet, water pressure was so so. Temp was fine. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Overall Hotel Felix was a fantastic choice for our stay. The location, quality of room, friendly staff and thoughtfulness in design and details make it a 5/5.
- 3/5
Positives: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They served with a very positive attitude, specially the manager. They offer free coffee and fruits that is very useful for a traveler. Amazing location too, very close to everything we needed. Restaurants, public transport, river north, etc. Negatives: 1. Odor. There was a permanent weed odor in the hallway and elevator. Disgusting. 2. Pricing. There was a phantom fee of $30 a night. If I knew this before I would’ve picked another hotel. 3. Extras. Everything was charged, even leaving luggage on the day we’re leaving was charged! First time in my life that I’m charged for leaving my bag for 1-2 hours while I wait for my flight. They also charged for lending umbrellas. 4. Room. No cleaning during the stay and no mini-fridge either. 5. Other. Expedia offered a “complimentary” service for being Silver member and staff didn’t know about it or if they knew they didn’t acknowledge it.
- 5/5
Everything was very nice. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Only downside was not having a mini fridge in the room.
- 5/5
This is an unsung hero among River North hotels
- 3/5
Basic but clean hotel with a good location, you’re clearly paying for the spot. However, the bathroom design is a major downside. It’s too minimalist and impractical; the shower is cramped for tall guests and water leaks everywhere.
- 4/5
The room was clean, a good size and all the facilities however for me the downfall was their shower. When it was cold it was too cold and hot was too hot and it was difficult to find a happy medium. The bed was fine, but the pillows were too filled and chunky, so my head wasn't supported as much. We opted for the inclusion of breakfast however it wasn't a buffet we were just allowed to pick one item of food from whatever was available, and the savoury hot food wasn't vegetarian, so I had to have a sweet option every morning. The location of the hotel was good with many dining out options all a walkable distance and not too far from downtown Chicago.

Their version of a king bed apparently does not exist… I paid to upgrade to a king bed and was surprised to see I had to been given a queen. I went down to ask if we had been placed in the wrong room. The staff member checked and said it was a king bed… but no it was not. I went back to check and I was able to measure the bed, and confirm it was in fact a queen size bed. I was frustrated by the money grab of an upgrade that I didn’t even receive. The staff member also just seemed unwilling to help, super frustrating.
- 4/5
The only issue I experienced was mold on the bathroom wall and ceiling. I contacted the front desk, and they responded promptly and were able to address and remove the mold, which I appreciated. Overall, it’s a good place to stay for the location and service, but I hope they continue to improve maintenance in the bathrooms.

I never made it to hotel due to airline canceling flight. The hotel would not give me full refund for something that was out of my control. I WOULD NEVER BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL AGAIN. there should be courtesy given when your flight is canceled and you have no way to get there.

Room was clean and hotel had a cute lobby. However, room phone did not work, there were no extra blankets or cups in the room and the TV was glitchy.

Hidden daily “urban” fee. Cost me as much as a whole night’s worth stay. Would have chosen a different hotel had the hidden extra daily fee been made clear when booking, rather than finding out when I’m checking in and it’s too late. A real drag on my vacation trip.

Onto the bad: this hotel is not sound proof. I was initially given a room on the 8th floor, and I kept hearing cars, music, and people speaking in the middle of the night and that really disrupted my sleep. I was also hearing guests speaking in the room next to me. Staff switched me to a quieter room on the 7th floor, but the room was so much smaller than the initial room I was given. The hotel also does not feel 4-star to me at all. Guests have to pay $5 per bag to leave their bags at the front desk. Other than the gym, there are no other amenities that 4-star hotels usually have. There is no fridge, no coffee machine, no kettle in the room. Towels smell like bleach.
- 5/5
great location. clean. convenient
- 4/5
Coffee should be available in the room!!
- 5/5
Very well located, professional, attentive staff. Cute coffee corner located in the lobby. A special shoutout to Sasha, who helped me with a special request and greeted me with the solution at the time of check in. I liked everything
- 5/5
Everything!
- 5/5
Loved the free breakfast and free drink! Front desk was extremely kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Great location. Reasonabley priced. Enjoyed coffee and fruit in the morning.
- 5/5
Staff was so kind and great!
- 4/5
Ice machine situation is very lacking
- 5/5
Good location
- 4/5
Exceptional friendly Staff, Fantastic area, clean rooms. Breakfast minimal yet, did the trick. Great Value for the $$. We Will be back
- 5/5
Great location and value
- 5/5
The staff were extremely impressed and helpful. Help me with restaurant choices, where to go for tours. Only thing I regretted was not packing the proper clothes for the chance of weather. It was my personal birthday present to me and I did enjoyed myself.
- 5/5
Great location, staff and value for money
- 3/5
The location and the staff were amazing. There is no way this should be considered a four-star hotel. The rooms were lacking most of the amenities that you can find in a four-star hotel, like a cofee maker or a fridge in the room, or an exhaust fan in the bathroom. It did not have a single cup (no even a paper cup). The price of the water on top of the table, though, was from a 4 star hotel, ( $8.00) In their discharge, it had a terry barthrobe.
- 5/5
Very central to everything we wanted to do with an amazing restaurant right across the street. Rooms were a bit small but wasn’t an issue as we were only there for a few days.
- 5/5
Very nice place and staff, breakfast very well prepared and served
- 4/5
Convenient location, clean. Small rooms
- 4/5
The hotel was in great location downtown. The rooms and bedding was also clean and nice. We had to request a room change because the toilet and sink were not working correctly. In the new room, the bathroom sink continued to not drain. It was definitely annoying and disgusting. I probably won’t be staying here again due to the bathroom issue, but overall if that won’t bother you - it’s a good clean hotel with great staff.
- 5/5
Yeah Yeah
- 5/5
The room was actually pretty good and pretty good size for two people and a queen bed I really loved it and I would go back again.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Restaurants and bars are within walking distance and everything else is a 20-30 minute walk. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Very nice location with lots of things in walkable distance. The only negative was the small room size. There wasn't a closet but the room was functional. It also had a small refrigerator and microwave. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
If you have a car be prepared to pay 50/night for parking which is pretty common for all downtown properties. This property is affordable so it does offset the cost.fpr parking. Smaller rooms are perfect for solo traveler or a very close couple lookingfor an intimate space. The only other thing is you can hear the party crowd at 3AM on Saturday night after bar close but that might be common for downtown property. Great staff, awesome free coffee, ice water and bacon, egg, cheese breakfast sandwhich (small fee for breakfast sandwhich). Cute lobby. Great diner across street for lunch! Walgreens 1 minute away.
- 4/5
One small downside was the bathroom sink—it’s quite shallow, so water tends to splash out easily. You have to be a bit extra careful when using it. Overall, a good stay and I would consider coming back.
- 4/5
Stayed at this location for 3 days and had a great time. I saw where some people complained about the size of the room but it was spacious to me ( 1 king size bed). The hotel was in walking distance from a lot of the places we wanted to go to. Only down side was that the room did not have a closet but still was extremely nice. On arrival there was a gift bag on the bed- never had that before. I would definitely visit again
- 4/5
The queen room was a bit small but it had most of what you would need. The afternoon front desk staff that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The property is very clean and inviting.
- 3.5/5
WiFi was very weak.
- 3/5
The room was clean, there was issues with plumbing but they were working on fixing it. On the second floor the walls are thin I could hear every word of the TV in the next room. The TV also lost signal multiple times and it would take forever for the tv to come back on.
- 4/5
Room was slightly small and there was no microwave. But for the most part enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
The location in the Chicago North River was great. Lots to do around. The rooms were clean and nice, and the reception was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast wasn't really anything, tbh. I think they could mention that it's not a continental breakfast buffet in advance. That could help future guests with the decision whether pay for it in advance or not.
- 4/5
Helpful staff, great location, adequate rooms!
- 4/5
Room is clean, staff are wonderful, breakfast is good but the walls are so thin that I could hear noises all night from the room next to me.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
My room was a perfect temperature. I was able to adjust the thermostat as needed. I loved that I could wirelessly connect my phone to the television. I didn’t participate in many of the amenities because I was usually up later in the day/ exploring the city.
- 1/5
The staff was nice ! Hotel is not as pictured!! The rooms are very very small!! I immediately checked out and found another hotel.
- 4/5
Clean spaces. Attentive staff. A little noisy from the street and HVAC
- 3/5
Room was minimal no cups in room, people fighting in hallway at 3am. Noise all night. Girl at check in was rude. Speak English!
- 5/5
Room was decent
- 5/5
Nice, but no microwave or refrigerator in room. Staff is nice and place was clean. Many things to do around.
- 5/5
Clean room, quite hallways so I was able to sleep well and the location was conveniently located. I did not try the room service or other amenities that were available on site, but will definitely do so and add an updated review after my next trip.
- 5/5
Staff & location
- 5/5
This was a great price for a great stay!! Central to many locations downtown! I am planning to book this hotel again in the future!
- 4/5
There is no restaurant but rather, a small bar staffed by the front desk people. The location is excellent. The price was very reasonable - i might stay again if i was visiting ORD.
- 5/5
Loved the atmosphere sheets were a little stained but other than that no complaints
- 5/5
Great experience and friendly staff
- 5/5
No counter space in the bathroom
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly staff. Great location!
- 3/5
the room had cobwebs, the shower would leak water everywhere. plus there was only one bathrobe when we put the room was for 2. the phone in the room did not work so i had to go downstairs to talk to someone about the tv not working either. turns out someone cut off the google cast wire from the tv so that’s why our tv wasn’t working at all.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great room and the staff was amazingly helpful.
- 4/5
A quiet and comfortable place
- 2/5
Breakfast is not included. What they give you instead are little vouchers per day that you can exchange for a coffee, water, or a snack. And by snack, I mean something like a sandwich, a croissant, bread, or fruit — but it’s not a real breakfast. If you want a bottle of water, that also counts as one voucher. Honestly, the only thing that saves this hotel is the guy on the front desk — he’s Italian and super nice. But everyone else doesn’t really care. Also, the water in the room costs $8 per bottle. And if you ask for water, they give it to you in a small water, but you have to use one of your vouchers.
- 3/5
The room was clean but is a lot smaller than advertised. I booked a suite with a king bed and it advertised that I would be getting a city view but my view was just another hotel. There were no amenities on the bed as pictured either. Which is fine but I was excited about it (lol) other than that, the stay was great.
- 4/5
It is in a good location not far from public transit and the magnificent. The coffee in the morning is very good.
- 2/5
There is an extra fee called an urban fee that cost 26 dollars per day you stay and you also have to pay tax on top of everything. This fee is for breakfeast and other amenities that don't even come close to being worth the extra money. The breakfast only lets you get one item for each person in your room without paying extra. The bed are ok nothing special, but the pillows suck.
- 4/5
The bar was fine we got 2 free drinks.
- 5/5
Big shoutout to Marina. Thank you for the hospitality and being so kind and helpful to me during my stay. Chicago is great!!
- 5/5
I arrived very late in the early morning because my flight was delayed due to weather. Upon arrival, the overnight staff was very welcoming and receptive to my requests. Throughout the weekend the helpful staff was very friendly and informative. Beautiful room; nice and clean hotel in general.
- 5/5
Clean room, I’m always glad to stay here
- 3/5
Bed is comfortable and room was clean but can't believe no water in vending machine and only voss water available. Breakfast is a joke only self serve coffee and fruit (apple, banana). The 30 dollar fee per day is a joke would recommend Riu instead
- 3/5
It is rather clean, though we had to request our room to be cleaned on the 2nd day as they hadn’t done it on the first day. The breakfast options are not great, only 5-6 options are available and they’re all pastries. They have some fruits as well. Overall the stay was good but I wouldn’t go back.
- 5/5
great
- 5/5
Loved all of it. Wish it had cheaper parking and a restaurant
- 5/5
Clean, wonderful employees they were very kind and accommodating
- 5/5
Great location, great stay!
- 5/5
Cleanliness polite and respectful staff
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Rooms were basic but clean and everything we needed, the lobby was very nice with a little bar with good drinks. Located in an area with tons to do and decently priced, nice parking ramp located right next door at the Godfrey Ramp to make check in a breeze! Staff were also very nice and accommodating - had several conversations with staff looking for recommendations and every one they gave was perfect!
- 1/5
Additionally, the water provided in the lobby did not appear to be refreshed or changed during our stay. There was also no staff member present at the front desk when assistance was needed, resulting in a long wait before someone finally arrived. Overall, these issues significantly impacted the quality of our stay and the level of service we experienced. I hope management addresses these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.
- 5/5
The staff immediately addressed my issues.
- 4/5
Overall good experience only thing that was annoying was the shower curtain kept blowing inwards.
- 5/5
Room neat, clean and cozy. Check in was easy. Small and intimate for quick weekend getaway.
- 4/5
Staff were helpful and kind.
- 4/5
The room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful at both check in and check out.
- 3/5
nice
- 3/5
There were no glasses in the room to drink out of. There was no lotion. There was no coffee maker. The shower curtain does not stretch the whole way so water gets all over the bathroom. We had a free VIP "hot" breakfast. When went down, there was no hot food. Just coffee and some bakery items. And no employee to serve us. Very, very misleading. We won't be staying here again.
- 5/5
My sister and her friends had a great time staying on NYE. Convenient location to festivities, friendly staff, and a 24 hrs Walgreens.
- 4/5
It was a very good stay. The staff was courteous, respectful, and accommodating. The rooms were clean, a little small, but no complaints..
- 4/5
Shower was hard to regulate, and the water got under the shower curtain it was to short, staff seemed pleasant enough
- 4/5
The staff was great, loved the breakfast bar, room was homey.
- 5/5
Nice part of town, cute lobby with coffee in the mornings, close to Walgreens - great stay I would recommend
- 4/5
I liked the hotel. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The room was cute. The location is fantastic.
- 3/5
Bad water pressure..no fridge..no hand lotion..no closet
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean
- 5/5
Great staff! Nice rooms! Try the espresso!
- 3/5
Staff is a little rude. The bar could be open. The rooms are really small
- 5/5
We were there for our anniversary. I couldn’t have asked for a better location and walk ability. I’ve driven past it so many times and so glad that we stayed! Every person on staff that we met greeted us warmly and it makes such a difference. You definitely have the right people on the front lines for you.
- 5/5
This hotel has always been one of my favorite. I’m happy to see that they are serving breakfast. Have beverages. And are doing some updates in return returning back closer to how things were pre-Covid. I love the staff they always are super kind
- 3/5
The room was great; it was clean and compact. There was not much to eat, pastries to buy, and they had coffee and tea in the mornings. The amenities were lacking, a small gym.The service was okay, there was one front desk person who gave great service. The others were lacking good customer service.
- 3/5
yes
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and smelled fresh.
- 4/5
Liked the neat and tidy room I was assigned to. They accommodated my request for the shower. Staff showed great hospitality special thanks to Sasha, Konnor, Rigel. Would have been greater had there been more amenities like body lotion, sleeper, toothbrush, etc.
- 5/5
This is a great location for the price
- 3/5
When showering the floor gets wet because of how small the shower is and nothing prevents water from getting on the floor
- 4/5
Good
- 3/5
Cons: Pillows flat and no good woke up with neck pain every day. Suggest taking your own pillow. Shower hot water was very mid…It got warm but never hot. Told front desk they had someone look at it and said water was hot when it was just warm. Could not take a steamy shower. There is no where to put your travel items outside the show no self nothing. We had to ask for clean towels at front desk each day we were there no service checked in room to see if we needed anything We did receive a drink coupon for 2 free drinks for each nite we were there it was nice. There’s a lot in walking distance as well. Overall hotel is very nice clean and modern staff was ok. need to improve the bathroom and towel service though.
- 4/5
Enjoy this hotel very nice.
- 4/5
Yes the room was spotless.Yes, the staff were very courteous and helpful. I appreciated it.
- 4/5
Satisfied
- 3/5
We still had to pay for valet parking. What kind of hotel doesn’t have parking included
- 5/5
I had a great experience at Hotel Felix River North / Magnificent Mile. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive from check-in to check-out, which really stood out. The location is unbeatable—close to great dining, shopping, and everything the city has to offer. Overall, it was a smooth, enjoyable stay, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chicago.
- 1/5
THE TUB WAS FILTHY. There was a miscommunication that cost me an additional $190 over champagne I didn't order. Water in the room was not marked as an additional cost, and there was no available parking for the valet so I had to walk 2 blocks after finding parking myself.
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming and friendly.
- 5/5
Did not have breakfast nor was I made aware of breakfast
- 3/5
Hotel rooms were tiny. Hallways dirty, little to no staff. No bartender at the 3 seats they call a bar. Would not ever stay here again
- 3/5
No breakfast at location
- 5/5
The room was amazing and the customer service was great!
- 5/5
Yes, fruit and coffee
- 3/5
The hotel was great but a $100 pet cleaning fee for one night is insane and a $52 resort fee too. Basically the fees were more than the cost of the room by far.
- 1/5
They charged me an extra $100 They told me that Expedia was going to reimburse me for five to seven days, totally a robbery.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 1/5
The room was too small. Bath too small and cleaning in the restroom wasn't good. Valet were amazing though.
- 4/5
The hotel was located in a great spot central to many places. The room was cold. Temp read 62 despite trying to set thermostat to 71.
- 5/5
the staff was great, room was clean, and the location was good. no complaints
- 1/5
Room nothing like the pictures that was wore out bed no soap the staff was nice. The hotel is maybe a three star Expedia really needs to start doing their story a lot better. Sign doesn’t even light up.. charges eight dollars for a bottle of water. Every luxury hotel I’ve ever been and it gives you free water, except Las Vegas.
- 4/5
Nice, quaint hotel
- 5/5
Thank you it was great
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel in a great location! Simple and comfortable with nice attention to detail. Found the staff very pleasant as well. Our second time staying and would stay there again.
- 5/5
Located in a good area near public transportation and arterial roads. On site bar and valet, public paid parking available.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
It's lovely. My second stay here. It needs updating. A few wrinkles here and there but lovely still.
- 5/5
Clean room and polite staff
- 5/5
The VIP breakfast was so good especially considering it came with our hotel room!! Hot breakfast sandwich and latte! Everyone was so nice and it was clean, comfortable, convenient! Would absolutely stay again.
- 5/5
Very clean “broom closet”, staff was exceptional and amenities were in place.
- 4/5
I queen room I stayed in was small but met my needs for my stay. The bathroom had NO counter space, but did have shelving above the toilet to place your toiletry items. It just made doing hair and makeup a bit tricky. The shower took a long time to warm-up for the first 2 days I was there and then on day 3 was fine. Make sure you bring a sound machine! City noise and party guests coming in and out all hours of the night. Overall it was a good stay.
- 5/5
Marina from the staff was excellent.
- 5/5
Decent hotel in a great location with extremely helpful staff.
- 4/5
It was very clean! Great location, although the room was so tiny so if you need lots of space then this isn’t for you. Although for a couple getaway it’s pretty ideal! Only thing is the heat wasn’t working for our room so it was very cold
- 3/5
The room is much smaller than shown in the photos. The front desk also has to work the smaller bar / breakfast area. Not really a breakfast, they only have coffee, tea, and fruit. They offer pre made breakfast sandwiches and parfaits for purchase. Not much of a bar selection and the cola is not Coke or Pepsi. Its easy to get a taxi or wait for a ride share. The check in and check out process was easy.
- 1/5
They gave me the wrong room with someone else name and they were confused for that
- 4/5
The towels had hair on them but it did not have bed bugs so counting my blessings. Staff was kind.
- 3/5
We got there at 3:45 and our king bed room wasn’t ready. We got moved to a queen bed room but the bed was more like a full, very Sam
- 5/5
Everything was great! Will come back!!
- 4/5
Staff was amazing!
- 5/5
What I appreciated the most was the staff. Even before I checked out, they were very friendly and accommodating - I landed at 5:30am and the staff offered options for an early check-in charge or just safely leaving my luggage with them until 300pm. After checking out, I felt urgently sick while waiting for my uber back to the airport. The staff did everything to look after me and help me feel comfortable until I was really well enough to leave. Shout out to the entire staff, the charming Rachel and the solicitous Sasha. Thank you all!
- 5/5
The bed was spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great job
- 5/5
Staff
- 4/5
Staff was excellent! Excellent customer service and friendly staff. My shower was not as clean as I would like it. Also , not happy about me having to pay a deposit and not getting it back for 2 weeks when I was told I would get it back right away when my room was inspected.
- 2/5
No hot water in the shower 1st day - told staff, still no hot water days 2 and 3. No offer to switch to another room. With so many options in Chicago I'd look elsewhere.
- 3/5
Breakfast
- 5/5
Great welcome. Room looks good.
- 5/5
Convenient location
- 5/5
This hotel was perfect, all the ameneties need for a weekend on Chicago
- 5/5
Just a nice hotel convenient location.
- 3/5
The only real complaint is the bathroom shower. The water went around the floor and made a slip hazard. But I was careful, and it dried by the morning, since I showered in the evenings.
- 5/5
Yes good service room was clean breakfast service
- 5/5
Great stay.
- 4/5
Hotel room was small but everything you needed. Very noisy AC but we were able to sleep through it for the most part.
- 3/5
This hotel is nice and in a nice location but there was a $26 a day urban charge. The staff stated that it covers coffee and WiFi , which is included at other hotels for free
- 5/5
Staff very courteous; spacious room with bathrobe and a very nice view of the city. I recommend
- 5/5
Extremely professional staff very clean and extremely great location.
- 5/5
The Felix is a perfect option for a Chicago stay!
- 5/5
Nice clean place
- 5/5
Great services
- 5/5
We had a remarkable stay at The Felix. Our check-in agent, Marina, was amazing. She always greeted us with a warm smile and hello. She made the best cocktails. Marina went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was clean and the bed was so very comfortable. Never had stayed at The Felix, but it’s great location and friendly staff will be are go to for our next trip to Chicago.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service - easy check in process (even with my early arrival!) and great location.
- 3/5
The staff was great. The room was just okay. I was expecting a more upscale hotel experience.
- 3/5
Location was good and it was fairly clean. Beds were comfortable. The room was much smaller than it looked online which was not ideal for two people trying to get ready at the same time with suitcases. We also were walked in on by one of the cleaners without knocking.
- 1/5
Las página del hotel muestran un precio y cuando llegas a piden hasta depósito
- 5/5
Always easy and clean and safe
- 3/5
Staff was good. Seemed to be understaffed. One person was ruining front desk and the breakfast bar. She was working hard to accommodate everyone. Great location. Our bathroom sink wouldn’t drain and overflowed. Shower water would turn off due to no pressure.
- 5/5
Great location and the room was great
- 5/5
The hotel is close by Mag Mile, restaurants and public transit. It's clean and the staff is friendly
- 5/5
The customer service top tier!!! The rooms were extremely small but they were clean. Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Super clean, cozy quiet and amazing service! Nicki and guy at the front desk for both so friendly
- 5/5
Amazing place
- 4/5
clean - functional. A bit worn in spots, but overall nice and a good price
- 5/5
The staff was perfectly fine
- 5/5
The Room Was Spotless, The Views were Amazing. I got upgraded to a High Floor due to my Expedia status. Got 2 free drinks per day Per guests Thanks to Expedia from the Hotel Bar
- 5/5
Bed was very comfortable and the hotel staff make the best capuchinos. Restaurants and Bars near hotel are great. Walk to near by attractions. I would come back and stay at Hotel Felix every time If needed.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Nice downtown location
- 5/5
Super experience - very friendly front desk staff, they sent 2 maintainence guys to my room in miutes when I couldnt figure out the climate control panel. The matteress was like brand new with down and foam choice pillows. Large shower head was a big plus. Small rooms but mine had a full side work desk and side chair - all I needed for my 3 days business stay! HIGHLY recommend
- 3/5
Staff was great but the room was unexpectedly small/cramped. The shower head fell off and I had to put back on as well. Taking a shower made the entire bathroom floor wet
- 5/5
Clean room, and Sasha was awesome!
- 4/5
Nice stay in overall! There is $5 charge to luggage storage (a little disappointing, cuz it’s free at any other hotel I have stayed in). However fee is waived if you leave a review online . Staffs are friendly. Even though they said breakfast is included: however it’s only coffee and fruits( apple/bananas) so I don’t consider it a real ‘breakfast’ given my experience at many hotels.
- 3/5
The parking… $77 a night for parking is quite insane
- 2/5
Besides all these bad sides, the hotel/room is clean and staff very available and kind, but no enough to make me come back.
- 5/5
Room was spotless and beds were comfortable
- 4/5
We had to leave earlier than expected and were very happy to have access to the breakfast on-demand before it's regularly scheduled opening time. A little disappointed that we were only allowed to have one thing. We paid extra for a breakfast packaged which ended up being the most expensive muffin I've ever had. On the bright side... The muffin was fresh and delicious...
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
The elk
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The Staff are outstanding and extremely helpful
- 1/5
Hidden charges, small rooms, bad attitudes at front desk.
- 5/5
clean room & nice staff
- 3/5
The hallway seemed a little shabby, the desk in the room was all scratched up, the ice machine in the hall could be heard in my room. A coffee maker in the room would be a good improvement. Also, there was pee in the toilet when I arrived.
- 5/5
The room and experience was very reminiscent of Fairmont (I usually stay at a Fairmont but I wasn't able to secure the room needed for the dates) but with a considerable cost savings so I definitely chose well. Will absolutely recommend The Felix to anyone I know travelling to Chicago as a solid hotel option.
- 4/5
Clean room, kind staff, fast check in and out. Complimentary coffee could use a huge upgrade.
- 4/5
Nice room. Friendly staff. Great value.
- 3/5
We loved the location of the hotel. Staff at front desk were kind and helpful. Thankful for a refrigerator in the room. Only three complaints: 1) Limited space because of the size of the room. 2) The side of my knee became black and blue caused by hitting the sharp corner of the wooden bed frame when I went to the bathroom during the night. :-( 3) And, the water pressure was awfully low at the sink and, especially, in the shower.
- 5/5
The room was really clean and comfortable. The staff courteous and super nice.
- 5/5
Yes loved it will be back
- 4/5
The room was good (not great). You are paying for the location. It is near a lot of great bars and restaurants. Better to stay in this area than the loop. However, for the price paid, the room was pretty small. The hallway was not very nice. I recommend for one night but not for an extended stay.
- 5/5
Staff and location
- 3/5
The staff were really friendly. The location was nice. The hotel on the other hand was just kind of odd. Small room, shin-destroying bed frame w/drawers (wife and I both slammed into a few times in two days), no cups for drinking water (with a large $8 bottle of water presented for sale under tv), no coffee maker, no iron or ironing board, there was a handheld steamer (we were there for a wedding, so there was no way of getting creased lines on my outfit without iron), bathroom and shower were ok. To their credit, they did have a cucumber water station in the lobby, and coffee during breakfast. As I’m in the transportation industry, I have stayed easily thousands of hotels in my lifetime, of all different qualities and varieties and locations in the world, literally all of them have cups for drinking water, a coffee maker, and an iron. The staff was nice and courteous and quick at their jobs, that helped offset the lack of amenities.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and always available to assist. There was a lack of variety for breakfast pastries but plenty of coffee and tea.
- 4/5
Front desk staff was very good but there is not enough staff on duty. One handles the coffee bar while the other is at front desk. If something goes on that is not the normal activity, as something that happened when I was there, the staff is over extended. Needs to be a manager on duty at all times. There was not.
- 3/5
the outside of the property was nice , the bathroom water was overly hot , to the point where you are unable to stand under the running water , after turning the heat on the vent smelt very mildewy
- 5/5
We had a great stay at the Felix. Kind attentive staff and excellent facilities.
- 1/5
Booked a King room got put into a queen. Went to take a shower & there was no hot water at all, called and got placed in a king (what i originally booked), in the queen room bedding was dirty, in the king room there was coffee spilled on the phone which also didnt work.
- 5/5
Great location. Wonderful staff. Highly responsive. Left items in room and they bent over backwards to get them back to me before I left the country. Highly recommend.

Amazing stay!
- 2/5
i’ve been giving business to this hotel for a year. i stay here during work trips and i’ve never had an issue until my last visit. i asked for a late checkout at 2 pm and even talked to the front desk to ensure i had it. i got a knock on my door at 11, disturbing my much needed rest. i told them i had late check out and they came back again at 12. i had to get out of the shower to answer the door and i was really upset. i don’t understand why they couldn’t just call my room. i’m very upset and wish there was a better system.

Brazilian restaurant so good
- 5/5
The hotel was great, front desk staff were outstanding. The restaurant directly across the street, the Ambar, was one of the best restaurant I've been to in quite a while. Service was second to none, the food and prices were great. We visited three times in three nights it was so good.
- 5/5
It was a perfect spot to get anywhere in the city! Very walkable to restaurants and stores, as well as convenient access to public transportation.

- 4/5
Friendly staff with clean and basic amenities. Reasonable value for money.
- 4/5
Nice rooms Average service No complimentary water; $8 in room! Put me right across from elevator 👎
- 4/5
Breakfast options is to few.
- 3/5
The rooms were very small and there was clothing from a previous guest in the room, which makes me think the rooms weren't fully cleaned. Great location and some good food spots nearby.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay here! There was no coffee maker in our room but instead a microwave which was odd. The facilities are nice. The building is old but still in great condition. The water has a smell to it so we had to keep refilling our water in the lobby to drink which was a bit annoying but the beds are comfy and the bathrooms decent!!
- 2/5
The workers were not friendly AT all. The sink in our room also drained horribly. I went there for the Chicago marathon and my mom’s hotel did more for me and acknowledged me instead of my own hotel. I asked a question about the marathon if they had a group walking to the start together and the lady just shook her head no. Nothing else. Also the morning of when I asked for housekeeping, because you have to ask…. No good luck. Just doesn’t seem like friendly individuals working at this hotel.

Honestly the worst experience I’ve had in a long time. The place definitely doesn’t look like the pictures. The fut
- 3/5
Staff were friendly. The room was gross. Not as clean as I would expect. The room did not have a coffee machine or tea kettle. The room has a steamer instead of an iron. Was not impressed at all. Great location but subpar hotel. When we arrived, our rooms weren’t available which was understandable. Finally able to check-in at 3pm but when we headed up to our room we had to wait until they did a final check of the room. It wasn’t bad but it definitely was not great.
- 4/5
We didn't use the bar or the work out facilities.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Use Spot Hero for parking as valet parking is sooo expensive. Good bus routes and metro to the city. The guy on reception when we arrived was brilliant. Very helpful and pleasant. The fridge and safe were really useful. For breakfast we used the Wildberry and Pancake Cafe about 12 mins walk away. Excellent.
- 3/5
Overall, great location and friendly service, but the facilities don’t quite live up to a four-star rating.
- 5/5
Only negative they charge for water bottles….which I think is crazy. Hotels should at least give 1 or 2 complimentary waters…. It’s water we are traveling. I understand charging after that. Also charged for checking in early. Just seemed like a lot of fees but overall was a good stay.

Great location honestly
- 4/5
Clean room, convenient location, courteous staff. The hotel seems understaffed though. Breakfast options are ok. Not the healthiest.
- 5/5
The location is perfect — close to the Magnificent Mile, the Riverwalk, and plenty of great restaurants and attractions. The room was clean, cozy, and quiet, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A special thanks to Marina at the front desk, who welcomed us so warmly and made our check-in smooth and pleasant. She also gave us great local recommendations that helped us enjoy the city even more. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations — a great place to stay in the heart of Chicago. We’ll definitely come back again!

Hotel Felix was close by shopping & dining! Very clean hotel

Location is convenient to lots of destinations we were interested in and feels safe. Many restaurants, coffee shops, etc. are within 1 or 2 blocks. There’s plenty going on, but our room was very quiet. Room was a good size and very clean. Staff was eager to please and there was never a wait to be helped.
- 3/5
small rooms, clean. location is good. $10 upcharge per night for upper floors! $5 per bag for storage post checkout (will be waived, if you ask). Coffee & fresh fruit in the AM included w/ the $26 additional charge per night
- 4/5
Spacious room - noisy plumbing.
- 4/5
Three-night stay at the end of September. Room and property were very clean. Did not hear much city noise from street side, north facing 6th floor room. Check in was quick and efficient. When I inquired about a mini fridge in my room I was informed that Queen single rooms do not have them, but if one became available they would notify me. No luck, which is inconvenient in a foodie town like Chicago where there are always leftovers. Also I prefer to have access to cold waters/drinks.
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean and close to shopping and the number 11 BigBusTour stop - very convenient for sight seeing and easy to walk to great dining.
- 4/5
Great location and prompt service. Comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Perfect location, in walking distance to Michigan Ave, Millennium Park, Navy Pier. Friendly staff, easy check in.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff. Happy stay!
- 4/5
The hotel was nice and clean and the area surrounding the hotel was nice as well. The room was smaller than I anticipated based upon the photos and it was dated in some aspects such as the bed frame, carpeting etc but the bed was very comfortable and cozy. The front desk staff were friendly and I did receive coupons for a complimentary drink for each night of my stay but I ended up not using them as I was outside most of the time and the bar was closed by the time I returned. The bath was nice and small as well but decent; the drains and everything worked well (no slow or clogged drainage) but the shower head sprayed water on the floor due to how it was fitted but other than that there were no issues. The WiFi worked well for me the entire stay. The location of this hotel is perfect and definitely walkable to plenty of restaurants and shops and I felt safe in the surrounding neighborhoods; I highly recommend this hotel for location alone. There is also a restaurant located directly across the street from the hotel. I would stay here again and recommend them especially for solo travelers
- 3/5
The Wifi was good but there was no breakfast though mentioned it include only apple and coffe if you like more should pay but it is not worthwhile to pay it was only cake! The staff were not that welcoming. Also for parking should pay 70$ extrra per night!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing and the staff was great
- 4/5
Staff was great and responsive. Great area. Only issue is that the rooms are rather small.
- 4/5
Hotel was nice, staff were friendly, and near attractions and restaurants
- 5/5
Excellent location! Very helpful staff! Cleanest room ever! I would return in a heartbeat!
- 5/5
Great place.
- 4/5
Cute boutique hotel in the center of everything. Easy drive in and out of town. Staff were excellent and helpful! Will come again.
- 4/5
The breakfast items for purchase were disappointing, the coffee drinks and fruit, excellent. Staff were professional and helpful.
- 3/5
In the bathroom the light was hanging from the ceiling. There was some random screw on the sink.
- 4/5
Staff was also okay.
- 5/5
Great location to walk to everything

Enjoyed all but the breakfast offering. Parfait was not available as advertised.

Loved my stay at Hotel Felix. I was in the city for work. I live out in the middle of nowhere, so it's very dark and quiet at night. The street noise didn't bother me as I thought it might. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the cafe was great! Cucumber water in the lobby was a nice touch, too. The room was spotless, but prior to check-in, I had to be let into the lobby bathroom, and it was in need of some attention. The only thing I would add is that either the walls are a bit thin or noise travels through the venting system, as I heard an entire conversation carried on by two ladies. Otherwise, I loved this boutique hotel and would highly recommend it and will definitely re-book for my next trip to Chicago in a few weeks.
- 5/5
Nice clean and quiet room with the added bonus of a free drink at the bar for 2 each day of our stay. The staff on reception are very friendly and the house was very good. This was our 2nd time staying at the Hotel Felix and we once again enjoyed. The location is very good too.
- 2/5
The hotel was rundown and very dirty. There was nothing special about it. For the price we paid we assumed it would be a lot better.
- 3/5
They also had unexpected plumbing issues. I don’t think I would book again.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful! We even received a couple of VIP premium drinks to celebrate our anniversary!
- 3/5
Rooms were small and had no drinking vessel other than $8 bottle of sparkling water.
- 1/5
Do not let the proximity to the magnificent mile tempt you to stay at this hell hole. The moment of our arrival, we were already off to a bad start when the front desk staff helped the person behind me in line because she wrongfully assumed we were with a guest who was already receiving help long before we got there. Approximately 3 hours later, I discovered 2 bed bugs on the top sheets while sitting on the bed. I sent photos and videos to my friend who is a nurse, and she confirmed this is what they were. After pulling back the sheets, I promptly discovered a few blood spots and insect sheds which I also documented. Although switching us to a new room quickly, the hotel provided no other help to us. I inquired about the possibility of the hotel providing wash services on high heat to treat our luggage for bed bugs. They told us that they could not help us after SEVERAL DAYS of waiting for a response. They also accused us of bringing the bedbugs ourselves from "the train" even though we didnt take it. As a temporary solution, I requested 2 steamers to be sent up to our room. An entire HOUR went by and I had to call the front desk again and ask why we had not received them to which they replied that we were "low on their priority list"! In addition to these issues, they had nobody staffed at their hotel bar and I had to call for service and we were cat called by hotel staff. There were other issues on our list of problems but this is all I could fit in 1500 words.
- 5/5
Room and common areas need a little TLC, but otherwise very clean and well located.
- 5/5
We did have a problem with lighting in the bathroom and connecting to the TV, but I called down to the front desk and maintenance came by within minutes and fixed the issues.

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful and great location to get to everything. I would definitely stay there again. This my 7th time ive been to
- 5/5
Hotel Felix is a great place to stay. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located walking distance from great shops and restaurants. The staff had great recommendations during the stay.
- 1/5
Very disappointed & upset that the hotel called me an hour before I was taking my flight to let me know they couldn't honor my reservation due to some leaks. They did not help me with in finding another hotel in that area. I had to find an Airbnb at the last minute!
- 5/5
Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hotel Felix while we were in town for a Lady GaGa concert. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
This hotel is very basic and in a good location. Our room was by the elevator and it was incredibly loud. I expected city noise but not the disturbingly loud creaking sounds of an elevator in the wall next to us. I wouldn't stay again or pay extra to not stay in those rooms. They also don't seem to have a system for the drinks included in the booking. It was a hassle to get out every time. The room was clean and they were responsive when the toilet flushing chain broke.

Sheets weren’t clean. Had to change them myself because of low staff. No accommodations.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and professional. The coffee bar was not being attended to consistently and necessitated having to go to front desk for service. The wine service was excellent.

in a great area in Chicago. my room had bed sheets with brown stains and the window had a crack in it. it gave motel.

Water always comes out of the tub. No matter what room we stay in. Staff is always helpful.

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Felix! The entire staff was warm, professional, and truly made me feel welcome. A special thank you to Sasha, Mayryna, and Rachel, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their attention to detail and genuine care stood out and made my experience unforgettable. I can honestly say this is the best staff I’ve ever encountered in the hospitality industry. I highly recommend Hotel Felix and look forward to returning!
- 4/5
Nice no frills stay in Chicago proper!
- 3/5
The hotel is in dire need of some renovation. Furniture in lobby is dirty and old. The room furniture was old and beat up pretty bad. The shower curtain didn’t reach all the way to the floor so water went all over the bathroom floor.
- 5/5
Great location if visiting chicago. Safe close to everything. Clean nice place. Only negative i would say is the parking price is outrageous as i guess everywhere in chicago is
- 4/5
Overall enjoyed my stay at the property. Only thing I had an issue with was connecting to the streaming and it staying connected. After an hour, the TV would disconnect and it was a process to get it back up. Other than that, loved everything else
- 4/5
Very nice. Wish it had more breakfast options. I also don’t agree with paying for storing bags for a later flight. Especially if I paid for three nights.
- 1/5
First I will start out with the breakfast. It was a frozen sandwich they warmed up in a toaster over. Horrible. I could have walked down to Mc Donald's. Next we asked for towels it took forever and when I called they didn't remember and the person who FINALLY brought the towels brought up TWO LARGE TOWELS. No face towels. LASTLY, If you don't have an app on your phone or cable service you will no be watching TV or sports. I had to sign into my cable service to watch anything. Horrible. Especially if you have an elderly person who is not tech savvy or someone that does not have any apps to watch anything. How cheap is this. I will never stay here again and will not RECOMMEND anyone. Room is too SMALL
- 5/5
Everything was nice! Would definitely stay here again. Not a bad walk to many attractions.
- 5/5
thumbs up!!! nothing to complain about!!
- 3/5
My bathroom toilet was clogged and the hotel management didn’t have a plunger, neither they have restrooms, so I have to deal with the clogged toilet for 2 days.
- 2/5
The hotel rooms were small. Basic items were missing, such as a nightstand lamp. On top of that, we were charged $50 fee per room. According to them, "It was in the fine print." It was a disappointment.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and the.front desk services were great.
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
The staff were very attentive.
- 2/5
Convenient location. Hotel room is clean although extremely small. There was a daily urban fee of $26.00 plus tax that we were unaware of until we received an email the day before we checked in. It is stated on the Expedia page but you will need to scroll all the way down to read all the fine prints. Luggage storage fee is another $5 per bag which not every hotel charges especially for guests that stayed with them, in this case we literally just paid their $26 plus tax per day daily urban fee.
- 4/5
We stayed here for one night. Hotel is convenient, clean, and has friendly staff. The "city fee" is annoying. Just charge people a rate without additional fees. Room was small but comfortable. Overall a good hotel and I would probably stay again sometime if I got a good rate.
- 3/5
Room was small and parking expensive
- 2/5
Poor service
- 5/5
I enjoyed the drink voucher at the end of a stressful day, going into a worse one! Staff were lovely.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, Easy check-in, some damge existed to items in the room/bathroom and there was no bathroom fan. Otherwise, a great stay!
- 4/5
Within walking distance to many shops/eats/attractions. Staff were friendly and approachable. We did have a minor water interruption during our stay, but the staff handled it well.
- 3/5
The Felix hotel service was top tier! However, the rooms were just ok, wet spot in the floor, a big one that soaked through my bag! No mini fridge, no bathtub, sure I could’ve asked for one. It IS dog friendly!! I would stay here again just for location, friendly service and dog friendly because in the end?? I’m really just there to rest my head after a long day of walking and sightseeing
- 5/5
I would definitely come back here.
- 5/5
The staff from the start were very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean loved the location of the hotel. Will definitely try booking ag this hotel next year
- 3/5
I think to make it a true home run, you need to refurbish the inside to make it a 1st rate boutique hotel like all the others that are popping up these days! In the interim, the bed was very comfortable, the A/C was superb and the shower was all good for what I needed! However, the room was physically tiny!
- 3/5
Room was super small box size didn't like that
- 2/5
On the positive side, the hotel is in a great location and provided a clean place to sleep each night. However, the photos on Expedia and the hotel’s website do not reflect the reality. Overall, I would not stay here again or recommend it.
- 4/5
My room did not have the best view, but all else was great!
- 3/5
I booked a king room, & was asked about upgrading to a king room on the top floor with a city view for a small fee. I agreed, and upon going to our new room we quickly found out the toilet would not flush. We went back down (maybe 30mins after we checked in) to inform them of the issue, & were told no one could fix it so we were downgraded to a queen room (not offered our original king booking). other than this, the facility was nice/clean enough and the staff was great. Still very close to shopping but was one of the quietest streets i’ve stayed on in chicago.
- 5/5
Beds & pillows were comfortable. Enjoyed the scent of the bathroom toiletries. Nice view of city from our room. Convenient location with lots of good restaurants close by. Not far to get to train. Love that they allow dogs & cats. (We didn’t bring our dogs but it was nice to see a dog there). Very quiet room. Wasn’t the typical loud hallways and slamming doors situation. Would absolutely stay here again!
- 4/5
The hotel itself was very nice and spacious, the only downside was that, everytime we'd shower, the floor would get super wet due to how the shower was built.
- 1/5
Not sure why we are getting charged for things that are usually included like a safe in the room and other random things. It’s 30 something dollars a day. The rooms are very basic with no closet space or place to put your clothes. Just not what I’m used to. Definitely would not stay here again. They charge u $5 per bag if u want them to hold your bag but didn’t notify me and just charged my card. There aren’t any real amenities to pay the extra $30 a day for.
- 5/5
Quick and easy check in and check out, friendly and helpful staff
- 4/5
Nice place
- 3/5
HVAC was really loud, the hallways were poorly finished. It was OK but for what we paid, we could have made a better choice.
