    I booked a city view suite and I didn’t like the fact that it was in the corner of the building with a wall directly facing the window. Also didn’t have a microwave in the suite? Feel like that should be a given.

    If you are going to insist on a dress code at the bar area I expect you to keep the bar area in tip top shape and that is not the case. Everything looked as if it were 10 years old and in need of cleaning or replacement. Bottoms of booths dirty, floor boards dirty, tops of white umbrellas brown (could see this from my room). The food and cocktails at the bar was good but for somewhere that makes you feel like you have to dress up I would expect more. As for the room - this was even worse. I have stayed at Holiday Inn's that were better appointed in terms of amenities. Plastic and paper cups - again not 4.5 star. Towel bar in the bathroom was coming off the wall and the plaster wall was cracked as a result. Shower was standard 3 star quality. Furniture had scratches everywhere. Floor boards scuffed. Curtains looked old and discolored. There was also no where to sit other than the bed and an office chair. Usually there is a chair or couch - not here. Fridge was basic - for a 4.5 star hotel I would have expected a mini bar and snacks as part of the fridge setup. Little to no closet space and ZERO drawers except for the nightstand. Carpet by elevator - stained. There was an option for snacks on demand via room service but I would have much rather had a snack purchase area in the lobby.

    Place is great with having the club attached to it. However i felt like the price was a little high for how the room was. The worst part was the Valet, took absolutely forever and the bottom of my door scraped the curb badly because they parked it way too close.

    I was able to check in early for a work conference and they accommodate me expeditiously! Excellent customer service. I left a terrible hotel and then checked in the Godfrey hotel which is Amazing! I give Godfrey 10 stars!

    The room was clean, spacious, nice bathroom, GREAT view, amazing location (perfectly close to the Loop but not quite in the middle, which is what we were looking for) The TV did not offer possibility to use netflix, disney, hbo or other streaming which we were looking for.

    Location in river north is great. The Centennial brew pub and restaurant is within walking distance and is exceptional. It smells musty everywhere. It doesn't matter what room you get. This is not our first day here there is a wet, musty smell to every room on the property and the people hanging out in and around the lobby are very suspicious.

    The location is unbeatable — close to everything, yet in a quiet and peaceful area. Above all, we want to sincerely thank Miss Sadie and the entire team for their honesty and kindness. We accidentally left behind our AirPods, and she was incredibly thoughtful and helpful in arranging to send them back to us, even taking them personally to FedEx.     I had a overall good experience here but my only real complaint is the fact that it’s impossible to sleep because they have music super loud on their rooftop until 3 am every morning and it can be heard right into the rooms. So if you have children or if you want to actually sleep, atleast get a room on the opposite side of building rather than on the same side as the rooftop like mine was. One night I also had an issue where water was leaking from the room above me into my room and I had to move rooms at like 1:30 am so that was unfortunate but that was the guests fault not the hotels fault. The staff were helpful, the location is great, the hotel is clean and very cutely decorated. It was a 4/5 experience.

    Staff was friendly and helpful. And the rooftop lounge was a go-to to relax and enjoy a cocktail before getting ready to go out. We loved the spacious room and everything was clean and comfortable. We especially loved that we could slightly open the windows for some fresh air. Our view was of the city skyline and it was breathtaking at night. We highly recommend the Godfrey and look forward to returning there next year!

    Great location to access all the attractions on foot. Rooms are a good size and tastefully decorated. Only negatives are that they don't offer room service. Also the main bar is so popular that most tables are reserved for outside guests and therefore residents can't normally get a table.

    The room itself had a weird design and there were a pair of black thongs left in the room. They were probably just missed, because they weren’t out in the open. The bed was uncomfortable and noisy. The shower was nice, but the bathroom sink was small. The best part about the hotel is the rooftop terrace and even that could use some furniture updates. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. I almost forgot one of the elevators was out when we checked in. When we were leaving to go to dinner, the other elevator wasn’t working so we had to walk down 10 flights of stairs!

    Great hotel. Not the quietest. We had people slamming doors almost all night & you could hear everything through the door. Not sure if this was just a one time thing, but it did impact our stay. My husband couldn’t fall asleep until 3 am due to noise. The staff were very kind and valet was quick.

    The hotel’s location is fantastic, putting you within walking distance of some great eats. Don't miss the rooftop bar; it has a cool indoor-outdoor setup that stays busy with locals and guests alike. It’s a bit of a splurge for drinks, but the atmosphere makes up for it. The rooms are a highlight—very modern and beautiful with great city views. As for the service, the staff was friendly and capable, though they felt a bit "all business" rather than warm. Definitely a comfortable place to call home for a few days.

    The good - Free Fuji water bottles from the front desk - Prompt service from front desk - Elegant but pricey Mediterranean restaurant - Great, central location The bad - Unacceptable elevator situation. There are only two elevators for the entire hotel, and one was out of service for all 5 days that we were there (waiting on parts). WORSE, if you don't charge into the elevator while people are coming out and press the "open door" button, no hand waving will stop that door from closing, and you end up waiting another 10 minutes for losing the elevator - The pull out couch was a lousy couch, mushy and cheap - Street noise even on floor 8

    This was by far the worst stay! I paid for a suite and it was so noisy the bed was so uncomfortable and the service elevator was non stop. Only gave the option to change rooms the next day. Oh and someone came into our room with the do not disturb sign on the door ( I can’t make this up!) I could go on & on but the main things were mentioned. I’ve had a much better time previously but this was literally thee worst staycation ever!

    We used to love this hotel but the rooms are now looking worn out. We stayed in a suite last night and the dresser was all banged up, the wall paper was peeling off of the wall and the refrigerator was making sounds that clearly needed to be fixed. They need to put some money into updating and fixing the furniture and walls. It was disappointing compared to last years.

    I’m really glad this is the hotel that I chose when I came to Chicago. It was extremely clean. The staff was extremely friendly right when I booked my hotel and got there they offered me a room with a city view which made my stay even better the rooftop lounge was really beautiful and it was had such gorgeous amazing views when I go back to Chicago this is definitely the hotel. I’ll stay at thank you so much to the Godfrey.

    The hotel is great but charging $77 per day for parking to paying guests is a bit insane! Also, the suite I booked didn’t have a microwave in it considering that the hotel itself has two restaurants inside it and I couldn’t warm up my leftovers was kind of an inconvenience…other than that I had a great stay!

    Rooms were okay. We did find pieces of hair in bed on the first day but staff was accommodating to come and redo the bed. We did try to switch rooms but were informed everything was booked at the time. We had no further issues after that.     Tbh... This hotel is beautiful. However the staff... I had no issues during my stay. The check in process was laughable. The male staff member that checked me in barely said two words. I'm assuming he thought this was cool? Any questions I asked him seemed to be a nuisance. Check out was even worse. They tried to tell me that my card wasn't charged when I could fully see the notification that I had just been charged on my credit card. To top it off they never said a kind word or made you feel like you were welcome or appreciated. However the housekeeping staff were excellent-efficient, accommodating and very kind. I won't be spending my hard earned money here again.

    I’d give this hotel an 9 out of 10. Overall, it was a really good stay and I’d definitely consider coming back. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was cozy, and everything looked neat and organized when we arrived. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the check-in and check-out process smooth and easy. I do feel like there should be microwaves inside these rooms. Still, overall it was a great experience. Clean rooms, nice staff, and a comfortable stay. Solid 9/10. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable place to stay.

    Hotel was great! Great location, very close to Michigan Ave. we were able to walk everywhere! Rooftop bar had fun vibe, staff was so accommodating and rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking garage is separately managed and for compact cars only! Found a lot one block over that was a little cheaper for overnight parking. We could see over the lot from our room! Restaurant looked nice, didn’t get to try it.

    I had some many problems and switched rooms multiple times first room left a cigarette odor second room was dirty had stains on the bed sheets, and walls the bathroom floor had hair on it. I was so tired of moving by the time I got to the 3rd room I just said forget it I’ll take it. The 3rd room had broken lamps the bed was broke it was a mess. The next morning they switched me to a double-bed room and it was much better despite all that the staff was very nice and helpful. The manger also did accommodate me but I would never stay there again!

    Hotel was clean. Water did not get hot as I would like. Fitness area was just what I needed. Rooftop was not a rooftop. It was on the 4th floor but the hotel went up to like 14 floors.

    We booked this hot for our Anniversary specifically for the rooftop. We come to the rooftop pretty often especially in the summer. Our first time staying here. Room was in ok condition. lots of scratches and marks on the walls and trimming on the floor boards were all beat up. Couch was old and beat up as well.There were no glass cups or coffee cups in the room to use. Rooftop dinner was great, Staff were great overall except one guy who said he couldn’t take a photo of us at the end of the night because “They’ll get mad at me for doing that because that’s not my job, my job is to stand here and make sure everyone leaves “ not sure why he said that when earlier in the evening someone else was happy enough to take a photo of us. This was our first and most likely our last time staying at the hotel.

    Our toilet wasn’t working properly the entire time we were there. In the morning, the water in the toilet was going down so slow. Seemed like there was a clog so we called maintenance. We were forced to get ready for our day while maintenance was in the room fixing our toilet… and we were three grown woman getting ready in a room with two maintenance men having a brush, our teeth, change our clothes and hide from them basically. We had to use the restroom on the fourth floor and we were not offered any type of accommodations or an apology or anything.

    Those were the bad things, however, the bed was really comfortable and the living room area and bathroom were very nice. I like the elevated feel of the hotel, and we really enjoyed breakfast (purchased) in the Mediterranean restaurant downstairs. The room and hotel are overall pretty nice, and I think that with some small tweaks it could be as nice as it was when it first opened. I will certainly give them another chance to see if things are improved next time and this was just an exception.

    The elevator from the parking garage was down. It would have been nice if we were told about that before we parked on the 4th floor of the garage and had to go down back stairs where garbage is kept (smelly) and not sure where we were headed dragging our luggage. Also, there are only two main hotel elevators, which makes the wait very long, since it goes to the 15th floor and rooftop bar.

    Our stay at Godfrey was wonderful as we celebrated both a birthday and an anniversary during our visit. Upon our arrival on January 30th, we dined at Yasemi Modern Mediterranean and enjoyed most of the four-course meal, with the exception of the salmon, which was served cold. We shared our concern with the manager on duty, but unfortunately, we were dissatisfied with her response as she did not offer to resolve the issue. Because of this experience, we decided not to dine at Yasemi for the rest of our stay.

    It was the coldest day of the year so the room was very, very chilly. Thermostat wouldn’t go warmer than 68, the floors were freezing. The bathroom has a window so it too was extremely cold. It’s probably great in the summer. The rooftop bar is great!

    Staff and valet were rude ! My English is not so good, and the staff was unkind. The VALET men shouted at me because when I had arrived I didn’t know what to do with the car. It was just tell me the right thing to do. hotel even wasn’t exactly like photo. I did Route 66 and I was better treat at small hotel than in this place.     Stayed for an event. Staff were friendly, bar food was great and so were the bartenders. The lounge area was nice but seating was uncomfortable sofa was to deep and far back from the table to sit upright without sitting at the edge of the seat and small seat cushions, were to small and no back to sit on for a long period of time.     Good price. Great location. Great Restaurant: Food and Service. Great Valet. No one answers the phone when calling front desk. No quick snacks to purchase on the property. Staff was very professional, but not outwardly eager. (However, I only encountered a couple the entire trip. And this may not be a true statement for all staff nor always their demeanor for those who were working) Rooms were spacious. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

    The room was run down and dirty. The toilet made a weird noise all night long, the walls were filthy and all the furniture was scratched. For a “luxury” hotel I expected a lot more. I’ve stayed in budget hotels that were far nicer than this property. The staff was friendly at the hotel, the waitress at the rooftop bar was a different story. First time staying and we won’t be back. Lots of better options to choose from.

    The room had zero circulation. They turn the air off during the winter which leaves the room stuffy and smelly. To pay this much and not be able to sleep comfortable is insane. Also you can only open the windows for so long with their bar located right outside playing loud music til 2 am.

    The location was good. The hotel looks trendy at first but the lobby is a bit dated and tired. The room was very large and clean and shower was great. The sheets were rough and scratchy, the extra blanket worn out, the pillows lumpy. The bath towels and toiletries were good. For the money we paid per night the hotel was fine just could use some updating and new higher end bedding. The staff was hit or miss and 1 night out of the 4 nights our room wasn't cleaned up even after we asked.

    The location is walkable and convenient for getting around Chicago, although the hotel is hard to identify from the outside. Even several of our Uber drivers were confused trying to find it. Staff & Hospitality: Unfortunately, the staff did not feel welcoming, friendly, or engaging. The overall atmosphere from check-in to moving through the hotel felt cold, and no one really greeted us when coming or going. Amenities & Fees: There is a daily “resort/amenity” fee, but the hotel is not a resort and what it covers is extremely basic — a bottle of water in the room and spotty Wi-Fi. Nothing about this felt like a true amenity. Room Quality:The décor in the guestrooms did not match the beautiful lobby or restaurant area. Our room felt cold and oddly designed. The feng shui was off, the drawers in the closet had an odd smell, and the overall space did not feel comfortable or inviting. There also weren’t enough washcloths and the room layout just felt impractical. Rooftop Breakfast Experience: We were charged a non-refundable deposit to make a breakfast reservation, which gave the impression it would be a high-demand experience. When we arrived, the place was completely empty. The service felt indifferent, several coffee drink ingredients were “out,” and the sugar caddy they handed me had what looked like dried spill residue and dead flies in it. When I pointed it out, they removed the fly and handed the same container back. The food was disappointing.

    When I walked in the room, the fridge was open with a towel in the fridge and floor. I told staff but they didn't do anything. When I woke up this morning there was water on floor. Additionally, the toilet ran, loudly, all night and to add on to annoying noise, the extremely loud alarm went off at 5:00 am (I did not set the alarm). I probably won't stay at this hotel again, it seems very mismanaged.

    I was placed in a room on the top floor and did not sleep a wink my entire stay. It sounded like a was sleeping under a roller coaster at six flags from the noise of the elevator all night long. Then the walls are super thin so we heard everything in the room next door and the hallway.

    The refrigerator in our room did not work. When we asked to get another one or to move rooms, we were ignored. They gave us free breakfast vouchers instead. When we went to breakfast, we witnessed a waiter belittle a group of foreign customers and his coworker. I believe he was completely stress out because it was fairly busy at breakfast and he was short-handed. Not a way to treat other human beings. We won't be staying at this hotel again.

    However it feels like it’s about 3 years late in a renovation. Lighting in room is horrible, all white/bright - paint, wallpaper, carpet, furniture are all worn, wearing, etc. the gym is a tiny closet with very little going for it. Location is great. Price is too high for what it is at the moment. Restaurant is pretty good though for upper level middle eastern food.

    I am writing to share my deep disappointment following my recent four-night stay at The Godfrey Hotel. As a property that positions itself as a four-star hotel, my experience fell far short of expectations in several key areas. From the moment I arrived, I encountered significant inconvenience. Upon check-in, valet services were unavailable—no one was present to assist with my bags or take my car. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told they didn’t know where the valet was and that they would not take my keys. The staff was dismissive and advised me to either go upstairs and come back later or wait 15–20 minutes until someone returned. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Throughout my stay, I consistently experienced the same lack of service and indifference from staff. Each day, I found myself repeatedly going up and down from my room to locate valet service, often waiting excessive amounts of time—on one occasion, nearly 30 minutes—just to drop off my keys. It was extremely frustrating to handle my own luggage and vehicle without any assistance or courtesy typically expected at a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, the cleanliness of the property left much to be desired. When I attempted to get ice, I discovered that the ice machines on my floor were broken. After calling the front desk, I was told I would need to go up or down two floors to find a working one—information that was never communicated upon check-in.

    Tried to go to the rooftop patio after dinner offsite. My daughter was carrying her leftover in case she wanted a late night snack, and we were stopped at the elevator “no food upstairs” we were scolded by security. Turned right around and went up to our room. Odd way to treat paying guests.

    Room was quite large and spacious with nice view of Chicago. Room has a bedside table with a small single drawer and no other drawer storage in the room other than using the wardrobe floor or hanging items up with a few hangers. Lots of plugs and outlets available. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very walkable area for dining options. Bathroom is spacious but shower pressure was lacking.

    However, we were surprised the room didn't have a microwave, as we stayed 3 nights and this was very inconvenient. Aa for staffing, we asked for an early check in several days ahead of our trip, as we had to be at the Cubs game by 3:30. We were told that the hotel would let us know if we could not have an early check-in for any reason.. but no one actually let us know that this WAS NOT going to happen on that date, so when we arrived , we were disappointed to hear we had no early check in. Had to change and get ready for the game in the lobby! The front desk staff ( lady) was unapologetically rude about this and short with us. The young lady working the evening shift was the only staff we saw in 3 days there that actually put on a smile and made effort to make us feel welcome. The day shift, not at all. Looked like they didn't like their jobs. A bad reflection on such a nice hotel... A smile and effort goes a long way for repeat customers.

    The Godfrey Hotel was very clean and the staff was great. The king suite had plenty of room and was really nice and swanky. The only negative, the rooftop bar was closed for a private event, which obviously had a DJ. We were on the 13th floor and could hear the bass “hitting” until 3 a.m.

    I had a wonderful stay at the Godfrey Hotel. My room was beautiful, very comfortable, and spotless. One of the best parts was how quiet it was—I was able to truly relax without any noise disturbances. The only minor issue I noticed was with the elevator, but overall it didn’t take away from the great experience. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

    It was our 29th year anniversary weekend so we booked a room at the Godfrey First night went to room it was dirty and not at a standard that a hotel with so many stars should be. Offered me half off the room and to move us the next day. Well the next day at 0500 woke up to our room floor coverwd with water due to a pipe bursting at 0230 there was no water so couldnt shower or use bathroom. We had plans that day the we couldn't do because we aere unable to shower or really clean up. Did not get l a toom until about 3 pm that day so put a hamper on our 29th year anniversary. Did give us vouchers for breakfast for the three days we stayed here and rtook off the first and second night.but charged us for the third which was the most expensive night do to a conference that we were not part of. Feel they could have been more accomdating and done more to show some compassion and value. Communication was very poor and didn't feel that they caeed about what we were there to celebrate and value.

    This property apparently had a pipe burst & had to relocate me to another property but even after i dropped my luggage off to store 5 hours before it was time to check in, they still did not call to let me know i was relocated. So i didnt find out until i returned to check in at 4pm. Once i got to the new hotel, they said they had no record of any relocation. It was my worst experience with godfrey and i use them alot. I will never be staying there again.

    The hotel was lovely, and I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was very clean and quiet which is what I enjoy the most. However, the food at the roof top restaurant was terrible and not worth the price. I got the Godfrey burger, and the meat had a weird after test, the bread was dry, and the steak tacos were dry too. Our waitress was not friendly and seemed like she did not interact my party like the others. The drinks are pretty good but strong. Overall, don’t waste your money there.

    Nice stay for 2 nights. Perfect location for getting to the L train and lots of shops and dining within a few minutes. I’m a light sleeper and slept soundly, no noise problems at night. Only complaint is the shower - terrible water pressure and it fluctuated from burning hot to freezing cold every few minutes

    I would stay at the Godfrey again. I felt very comfortable in my room. I did not see any bugs. The room was clean. It has some minor scratches/bruises/bumps on a few surfaces, but for the most part, it suited all of my needs. Drinking water being provided by the front desk was convenient. I was able to store my bags at the desk at check out until my afternoon flight. Walkable neighborhood, short rideshare ride to everywhere I needed. The rooftop restaurant and bar was nice and convenient. No complaints.

    This was our first time in Chicago and coming from a less populated area, we were unsure about the safety of parking in particular. The parking garage was safe and secure, which put ours minds at ease. The hotel is conveniently located and walkable to most anything you want to see.     1. Room & Ventilation Issues Upon arrival, I was given a room with no bathroom ventilation. The hallways were extremely muggy with a musty smell. Maintenance came that evening to check, but since it was late, nothing was fixed. The next morning, I was told maintenance would come at 8 a.m., but they never showed. Eventually, I spoke to Shardae, the General Manager, who moved me to a different room. Unfortunately, the new room’s bathroom ventilation was also poor. Bathroom ventilation is not optional—it’s essential. The moisture was overwhelming, and for those with natural curly hair, this environment is far from friendly. 2. Parking Miscommunication & Overcharges The hotel’s website clearly states self-parking is $55 per night, which I was also told at check-in. However, I was charged over $154 for one day. When I asked staff for clarification on Friday night and again on Saturday, they seemed unsure themselves and said they’d “reach out to the manager.” I was then told managers don’t work weekends—highly frustrating when issues arise. To this day, no manager has contacted me. 3. Housekeeping Privacy Violation Housekeeping entered without knocking while I was undressing. The front desk’s only response was “Wow.” I hope this feedback encourages better training, clearer communication, and greater respect for guests’ privacy in the future.

    Stayed here for four nights! The lobby and rooftop bar are very nice! Drinks at the bar were pricey but very good.     The hotel is nice. I wouldn’t consider it luxury however. Bed is comfortable. Rooms are fairly quiet although if you are staying in the LaSale street side you may hear some traffic noise. The gym is small for this size of a property. The rooftop is great but there is nowhere to layout during the day which is a big letdown. The Greek restaurant on the first floor is very good and the location of the hotel is excellent. Central to the entire city. Also very walkable.

    I chose this property because I was looking for a spot for a trip with my guy friends that was reasonably priced, was in a good location, had a bar, and a gym. I think the location of the hotel is great and I enjoyed the rooftop bar. However, there were a few things I didnt like about the property. The gym was relatively mediocre. While the room was clean, it had the odor of cleaning products. The room itself was fairly average. One of my friends had an issue with his toilet and I too observed the toilet not having the best flush.

    I have stayed here previously without my family….My children loved it. It’s convenient you can walk to the Riverwalk. The staff were amazing.     Please was nice and accommodating. But the cheaper method to park was to use the valet. But during heavy traffic and many people needing to use the service they do not have enough staff to assist the amount of people there. I gave a text “heads up” and even came down later than the heads up and still waiting amount 45 minutes. The one guy was doing his best but there was no way he could help everyone by himself. It caused a slew of issues and delays for our event and caused a lot of unhappiness.

For the price of the hotel there was not breakfast included or parking...when booking it said parking available but from someone who isn't from around the area I wasn't informed from the website that it was at least an extra $50 to park in the parking garage for one night. For the price of this hotel it did not accomodate well for guests. Beautiful hotel...but I will not return

    Great hotel, walkable location. Would recommend. I didn’t realize there was no pool when booked, otherwise I would have chosen a hotel with a pool otherwise, but outside of them not having a pool, it was great.
