I just can't believe we lucked into such an affordable, bright, clean, and quiet place to stay in the heart of Clearwater, the wife and I just loved it!

Friendly checkin, had nice parking for our boat

Office manager was very rude, condescending … when we arrived he insisted on me to pay by cash because he said card reader was down… all of a sudden the card reader worked within 10 minutes..if you want housekeeping services it would be $10/day.. Manger said that the money for the room was just for the room, nothing else…we had a horrible experience and would never recommend this place!

Noticed some deterioration in furniture. Mainly the chair.

We were in town for the weekend to go to Honeymoon State Park and it was a good base location. Quiet neighborhood not on the main thoroughfare but minutes from everything. Did not like that it is a non-smoking PROPERTY. We were unable to sit in the common areas or make use of the patio/benches and had to go beyond the back parking lot.

The location is super. Mike the owner is wonderful. They allow early check in. The pool is awesome. I will definitely stay here again. Everything was great

The room was clean and comfortable, the queens bed was a little smaller than a regular queen but nice and comfortable. I will definitely go back if I have a opportunity. The place is very well kept and no noises of any kind during the night or day. Everything was perfect.

arrived to find that if you park your car on property, they want to charge an extra 10 dollars. we checked in and went to a musty smelling room. there was a dead palmetto bug (giant roach) laying dead in the tub along with another dead bug. went to the front desk and got a refund. they offered an upstairs room( i guess bugs only are in downstairs rooms?). no thanks on different room. went and found s different place to stay.

Super clean, no frills room, with a beautifully maintained property. Less than 5 minutes drive time from Baycare Sound. The price was VERY reasonable and the owners were not only helpful, they were extremely kind! No smoking on the property, but there's a grassy area next to the parking lot, which is only about 20 steps from most rooms.

Everything was great! Parking was closed a very well lit and so was the courtyard pool was gorgeous.

I was told I had to pay $15 extra a night for the kids which ended up being $60. The hotel is about 15 minutes from Clearwater beach via uber. He also charged us a $25 early check in fee to check in at 3pm because check in was 4pm, but the room was ready. Most hotels would let you check in for free if you are just a little early and the room is clean. There are a few restaurants and a clinic market within walking distance. Classic Florida atmosphere. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Location is very convenient. Short drive to the beach, local restaurants and breweries. If you are into bicycling, the trail is close by. Will definitely consider this place again.

The patio area was very nice. We enjoyed a couple of our takeout dinners there. The owner was very nice. The room was clean. There was no water pressure in the shower. The ice machine only made a few ice cubes at a time. There was no coffee pot in your room. The least they could’ve offered was coffee in the lobby. We didn’t realize that everything is self served we had to get clean towels from the owner. They never came into tidy the room like most hotels do. A parking fee was a big surprise. There was no reason for it. It’s not like we were in the neighborhood where people would be taking parking spots to go to the beach or something. Someone damaged our rental car in the parking lot. No one owned up to it. There were no tissues or shampoo offered in the room. It was run on bare bones. It came with two plastic cups. We thought someone would come in the next morning to tidy up and replace the cups or anything.

Was visiting Dunedin, and this place was only 10 minutes away, but at least half the price of many other places to stay. It was very clean and bed was super comfortable. I would certainly stay there again if visiting the area :)

I recently stayed at the Tropical Inn & Suites and was thoroughly impressed! The entire property has been newly remodeled and it is absolutely beautiful. Our room was immaculately clean, and the updated, modern decor made it feel fancy, yet cozy. The location is perfect—close to downtown and an easy drive to the beach. We were very happy to find that the a/c was ice-cold and we had consistent hot water in the shower. The courtyard is lovely and the pool was very clean. For this price, you cannot beat it. Highly recommended!

The front desk manager was extremely helpful and kind! We were in a nightmare of a hotel and in a pinch and he did everything to make us feel right at home and comfortable! The property has a cute courtyard with seating near the pool, and is in a great location! I would highly recommend and will definitely be staying at the tropical inn again next time I’m visiting Clearwater!

This is a very old motel that has partially been renovated. There is no elevator. So if you're on the 2nd floor, you have to carry your luggage upstairs! our room was clean except there were spiders in the bathroom that we made the owner come in and get rid of. (I'm terrified of spiders.) But it was quit and I slept well.

The room was clean. The king bed comfortable and just right firmness. The bathroom sink was clogged and the water pressure horrible on the sink. No place to put the bar soap in the shower. It was a great location for going to a concert at The Bay Sound. It was raining, so we took a Lyft there, but walked the 30 minutes back.

The room was clean ish. Our 4 year old found a pill capsule on the floor within 10 minutes of entering the room. The owner/manager person who dealt with our check in was very abrasive and was very rude about a glitch in our reservation (made through a 3rd party and it didn’t even include our 2 girls in the reservation). Overall it was fine but we won’t go back.

It was sketchy, the linens had holes in them or stains, the AC didn’t work well, the floor was missing pieces, the wifi didn’t work and there’s bad service in that building.

Both times when we need to check in and check out we had to call the phone number because no one was at the desk. It took a while for someone to get there. Our room was OK but could’ve used some updates.

Mike and his wife are amazing, friendly and accommodating. He gave me a close handicap room upgrade since I am using a cane.

Something to know that I did not catch before booking; $10 parking fee. Rates were good enough though that it didn’t really matter.

Pavement around outside of the rooms was quite deteriorated. When we returned to the room, post event, at 11 pm, there were kids loitering in parking area, another couple appeared to be "making out" in a car that was parked, and another car was backing in & out of parking spaces...have no idea what that was about! Did NOT feel safe or comfortable with parking area even though it was well lighted.

I was surprised at the oasis that resided inside the walls of this motel. It was in an urban setting. Close to some wonderful shopping and restaurants but had a tropical vibe that was pleasantly unexpected. The room was adorable. The bed was quite large and comfortable. Updated bathroom, microwave and fridge. I would have liked a coffee pot and maybe a little tube of conditioner for my shower but those are such small things to even worry about.

It was okay for the money, but it was an old property. The manager lived on site and closed the office around 6. But, he gave me a number to call, and I got a key. The staff was friendly.

Easy to get to, in a quiet area, very clean. We Uber to and from beach strip for beach, for happy hour and dinners for cheap considering the off setting of $3,50/hr parking. Only down side, out of owner’s control, pool to hot! :-). Need to start business of pool cooling solutions!

They have insane rules. NO guests AT ALL. No blow up toys/ floaties in the pool.(Seriously) If you have a guest staying that was not originally on the paperwork ..it's $25 per night parking and 10 extra dollars per night. They also charged us $10 per person per night which is in the paperwork to begin with. But that's ridiculous. we were allowed like two towels every other day. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the room. I would rather stay in a cardboard box in the middle of a hurricane that ever go back to that place. They should give us the option to give negative stars. Because if they did- I would give them negative 10.

Great welcoming staff at check in! Amazing outdoor sitting area shaded, designed with palms and sea shells, picnic tables, swings. Room, bathroom are clean. Truly non-smoking room and non-smoking policy is enforced. Will stay again!!!

Cute old Florida style. We stayed in a weekday and it was quiet and very clean. There’s a lot of room options when booking, staff is very friendly. Had an issue with the booking and was charged for two nights instead of one, they were able to refund the extra after explaining and showing them the reservation I had on my phone.

We stayed here to attend Old Dominion concert at Baycare Sound. Chose it for distance to the venue. We rode the public bus to the show which was clean, cheap and convenient due to the bus stop being just steps from the motel. We walked back after the show and it wasn't bad. Took about 20 minutes and beat the 45 minute wait for an Uber. Ended up walking behind another couple that was staying here too.

Unwelcoming smell in the office and rooms. Staff was not polite and charged additional cost upon arrival. Buckets outside of every room underneath the AC to catch dripping water. Stains on bed sheets. Staff watching you as you enter and leave. Very eerie vibe. Two junkies out back, who were guest at the hotel, doing drugs.

It's not a classy expensive place. But reasonably priced. Perfect for a shower and some relaxation, very close to places to eat. Served my purpose, was exactly what I was looking for. Went as a woman alone and felt safe going in and out by myself.

On a scale of 1 to 10 We give them a one (1). That is being generous. Unwashed linens and towels. Big wad of hair on the bathroom floor. Air conditioning does not work. Refrigerator never cooled off to be of use. We paid for two nights and left after one night stay without refund for second night. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Friendly staff. Room had a refrigerator and a microwave. Rooms lack a coffee maker that was very important to me to have a coffee when I wake up. My family of 3 stayed there for 4 nights and we got fresh towels from staff. However, we were told that there would be a $25 cleaning fee for each room service event. I think this is their way of offering better daily rate.

Mr. Mike is fantastic. Every time we come to Clearwater, this is where we stay. Everyone is friendly, very clean and new improvements every time we visit. Keep up the great work!

The bed was horribly uncomfortable as it felt like I was on a water bed the whole night. The pillows and bedding were all polyester which is just ridiculous in Florida. The in room jacuzzi was so small we just laughed when we saw it. ..pretty sure they only had it because the water pressure was so bad, they needed it as an alternative. Other than that, there was zero romance to the room. We paid for early check-in/ late check out and parking which I thought was strange since ithe hotel had a full parking lot.. All those fees took us way over the initial 204$ quote ..was just a bummer since the room was less than special ..plastic on the lamps, mismatched furniture, it just seemed very very overpriced even for a holiday weekend. I hope they can get it together because it has so much potential, just feels like they need some help.

We attended a concert at Coachman Park and this motel is very convenient. We would stay again. My only suggestion would be a coffee maker in the room.

This place is a little diamond in the rough in Clearwater. Just over the causeway from the beach hotels and half the price, I’d stay again when going up to visit friends who are up there. Less than a $15 Uber ride to the beach. Room had a little efficiency kitchen which was great. Just an fyi they don’t have blow dryers or a full length mirror, but rooms are set up well!

Great overnight stay so we could visit friends nearby, so it suited our purposes just fine. No time to use the pool unfortunately, maybe next time. Rooms are efficient with separate rooms for toilet and sink. Has a hanging closet spot plus fridge, microwave and little table w/2 chairs. Shower nice! My only issue was the stick on floor tiles seemed to be popping up in spots. Ten minute drive to the beach if you don’t want to pay exorbitant ‘on the beach’ prices!

Anything you want to do is 10-20 mins away. Very quiet hotel, I could work for two days without hearing anyone else.

The bus service stopped right near the office to go to the beach. It ran every 30 minutes. The convenience of a store to buy food and coffee.

My room had a funky smell of humidity and something about else like that wet dewy smell . When I asked I was told this was Florida. Check in is for 3:30pm I arrived at 2:50 my room was ready was not charged for early check in. I find this usual as most places check in its for 3pm and check out 11am. I was surprised when they knocked on my door about 10:15am. I was told those hours are for 5 start hotels. The lady said I can check out by 1030am at no extra cost. Thank you to the owner for letting us leave later then their time. This is family owned so I guess they make their own rules to add charges to your stay.

The property is in some disrepair, and while the owners were helpful and responsive, the property left much to be desired. The price was very reasonable, but “you get what you pay for”.

It was very nice. I wanted a place close to where my son lives. I was quite pleased to see clean beautiful pool and was happy I had a chance to swim for a while. I loved the bright colorful paint on the buildings and the area between the buildings with table and chairs set up.

The property is clean, the room was comfortable, the surroundings are fine, it's on the bus line. It's close to downtown and the beaches. That's it, it's not a resort on the beach. Your deal made it affordable otherwise it's too expensive.

We had to evacuate for the hurricane and we were looking for days but it wasn't until last minute that we had a definite answer about things. Most of the rooms were gone but this one popped up out of no where. We went and were very happy with the service we received in a time of need. The gentleman we spoke to was extremely kind and was generous. We were safe. The room was great and it was quiet. Other than it storming, it was very calming. Would stop by again.

Easy check in. Stayed here since it was super close to the Baycare sound. The property was super cute and clean. Room was a nice size, clean, cold ac and a comfy bed. Would definitely stay again if I need a hotel for a concert!

We live in Central Florida and stay here every time we want to have a quick getaway to the coast. Mr. Mike is fantastic. His property is well taken care of and managed. The court yard is perfect along with the pool. We look forward to our next visit!

The water pressure is extremely low. The air conditioner has to be set at a low temperature to cool the room. They charge for parking yet there is nothing they give you to be seen. Have to call if you arrive before 3:30 to check in and they charge another $25. Check out is at 10 am.

For the price this place was great. The room was clean (with the exception of the floor. They were hard floors and clearly no one mops on the regular.) The area was around was nice and quite. It was a cute little motel. That being said, it was definitely a $75/night hotel. No extras in the room. No extra blankets, bare minimum pillows, no coffee maker. The safety lock on our door didn't work. All in all it was a a good stay. But a coffe maker in the room would be really nice.

They should consider having someone at the front desk during business hours and were really only there for check in. They did have a few numbers available you could call if there was an issue. Overall, very happy with our stay and would do it again.

The hotelnwas ok but the website said 40$ forna pet. I have a 20 pound dog. I consider that a small pet vut the man said its 65$ for my dog. Then they wanted 50$ cash deposit. I was leaving early to catch a plane and nobody answered to get my deposit back and was charged for parking. What I thought was going to be around 100$ was close to 200$. Inwish I had just gotten an expensive hotel near the airport.

We stayed 2 nights to attend a concert in Clearwater and had a great time! The room was extremely clean and comfortable (no black feet!) the area was quiet, the pool was fantastic and the owner was super nice. My only complaints are #1-the lack of a coffee maker in the room (the owner said he's working on adding an outdoor coffee station) and #2-there was no cigarette butt disposal in the smoking area. (I put my butts in the nearby dumpster but most people let them lay on the ground...how lazy can you get?) Otherwise, it was a 5-star weekend for sure and we will definitely stay here again!

We were in town for a wedding. This place was great! Very clean. Owner was friendly and very accommodating. Parking was easy. Neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Short drive to the beach.

Room was clean, spacious and well appointed. We would stay there again. Though we didn't have time use the amenities, both the pool and outdoor lounge areas looked very inviting.

We did not know that there wars no maid service. This was not made available at application time. Shower curtains were short thus water in bathroom after shower. Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Bedsheets were pitted. No coffee maker although it advertised coffee available.

Did't like the smell of the room, the bed frame very noisy metal on metal sound, pay extra to self park, no bed-making service, external noises are heard loud and clear.

Small, very clean and well managed. We will definitely stay again. Thanks again to the staff.

The jacuzzi tub jets didn’t work. There was no ice machine or coffee makers. They require a $50 cash deposit upon check in addition to payment on your credit card for the room.

It was ok not great but not terrible

Wanted a clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay that was a short drive (20 mins) to Tampa airport. Hotel checked all these boxes with a very economical price. Looks like room had been renovated within the last couple of years. Had a nice pool as a bonus. Front desk was very friendly and efficient. Overall a great experience.

The hotel's location was excellent and the room was decent enough. The fact that the manager told us that to get hot water we had to let it run for about five minutes...it was more like 15 minutes but either way unacceptable to have to waste all of that water, thus the low environmentally rating...their water bill must be horrendous...we didn't even take a shower for fear that there wouldn't be enough hot water. The bathroom had hair behind the door which didn't make us feel any better.

Clean and the property was inviting. Tropical feel would stay again

Our stay was very comfortable. Check in to check out was quick and easy. Location felt very safe and well maintained. Only issue is that you have to run the water quite some time to get hot water going. Once its hot its hot. Overall was a good stay.

Went to see the Phillies and to enjoy DT Clearwater. Very short drive to Phils and walkable to DT. This is an older place that is kept fresh and fun. It's not a hotel so one can't expect to extras (toiletries, complimentary coffee etc.). Very solid place to stay.
