Excellent everything was awesome

Great staff!! We stayed with our Corgi and they were very up front about costs and such which is appreciated. The breakfast was great on Saturday the ham steaks were awesome. They were also very accommodating when we had to add an extra night since my surgery got moved back. We loved the pool just wish our pup was allowed in the area not to swim but just chill with us.

Internet was out. Anna tried to help me get connected. She was off the clock and stayed beyond her shift to help. Anna's kindness was the best part of the stay. Internet was out all night and the next day which is not useful if you are trying to work and stay connected with family and friends.

We have been repeat customers at this location and this was our last. Place has gone downhill since last year. Only improvement are eco-friendly refillable bottles in the bath. Problems (which we raised multiple times to management): 1. We stayed one week but only received service twice despite leaving the room by 1:00 each day. (Standard is every other day but manager noted our requested daily service. He said if available, can do daily.). 2. The WiFi was unreliable and did not work during last 24 hours of our stay. 3. During the second cleaning of our room, we returned to find the bath door off the hinges. 4. Unacceptable to allow other rooms to place garbage full of food waste outside rooms overnight. Many violations of this; doesn’t this attract bugs? Whenever we raised concerns, we felt blown off by management. Next year we will go to another area hotel.

When I checked in, the person at the desk talked awfully fast and I had to have her repeat her questions several time. It was fine but I noticed it. The breakfast was very good with excellent eggs and sausage. The coffee was very good. I would stay here again but maybe not on the 1st floor.

I did not eat as I have Celiac Disease and my husband said it was his ok, eggs were rubbery. There was some sort of water leak upstairs that traveled down to the main floor where we were. We understand these things sometimes happen. However, nothing was done with the soggy ceiling tiles that lay on the carpet for several hours, nor did anyone come to extract the water from the carpet or at minimum, run a fan. Trash was overflowing near the door. Things certainly are not maintained in the areas other than the lobby. See above. The only thing we did like was the location.

The room we stayed at was difficult to find due to a turn down another hallway that wasn't clearly/correctly marked. Frustrated, the staff took the time to show me where the room was. Especially nice, since I had 1/2 an hour to get ready for the Awards presentation I came to attend! Staff was wonderful, and even gave me an ice cream sandwich after the event!

There was no soap in my bathroom and when I told staff,, they said the soap shipment haven't came in yet, it was mold on the ceiling, marina, in the hallways, my sink was stopped up

The room had several maintenance and cleanliness issues that future travelers should be aware of. There was no hand soap provided, the sink was rusted, one lamp was stained, and a charging port did not work. The carpet was heavily stained and made the room feel unclean. The door also had large gaps that let in light from the hallway, and the pillows were uncomfortable. The hotel was usable for a short stay, but it could benefit from improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and overall room condition.

Room had ceiling damage that was just painted over. Common areas were a bit beat up. Parking was difficult at night due to restaurant next door.

Would not recommend. Their fridges there do not work. On our first night there which was a Friday night, we noticed our fridge wasn’t cooling and so we went the next morning to go to the front desk and they said they would send someone, they sent someone Saturday morning and he replaced the fridge but it still was not working. Sunday came around and we had to let the front desk know again that the fridge wasn’t working and they told us that none of the fridge is there actually work. Why would that not be disclosed before going to book a night there? We basically had no working fridge for our whole stay. On top of that, the showers do not drain very well, so you’re basically standing in a puddle of your own dirty filth while you shower. The paint and windowsill on our wall also appeared to be molding and rotting.

Stay was clean and comfortable.

Pool wasn't open yet, the lemon poppyseed muffins were good. No Keurig, but there was the generic coffee at the station. Wi-Fi password didn't work, had to get their wifi company to give me access.

The room was very clean. We were on the 3rd floor and the window opened but had no screen and it was knee high. Seemed it would be dangerous if you had children. There was outside noise from the restaurant next door. The air conditioner was very noisy. Had to wear ear plugs. The breakfast was good and great coffee.

It was a short stay so I didn't have time for the pool or fitness center, but the breakfast was excellent. It would have been nice if the computer in the business center was working properly. It was not able to load and print my boarding pass.

Staff was very nice but my room was terrible. Sink drain broke immediately and the air conditioner was so loud, I couldn’t hear the TV. Toilet was ridiculously loud as well. They need to upgrade their rooms.

It sucks because the staff was extremely sweet and understanding. But the people who choose to stay and bring their mess and roaches with them is unfortunate. Daryl and the other young lady at the front desk were great. I wish them both well.

We were given two rooms both of the blinds wouldn't work and neither one the one was stuck open ask for a new room the lady at the desk gives a hard time she finally gave us one told us what room number and then gave us a different room other than that then the following night when we came back she was on shift again and both are Keys have been canceled

This hotel is in the heart of everything. Restaurant from Benihana's to Chipotle. Shopping centers are also at a large variety. This hotel does offee breakfast, eats sausages/ham, oatmeal, cereal, coffee and juice. I came from out of town and did a staycation with my mom and she enjoyed herself. She raved about the comfortableness of the bed and the breakfast she love everything about it. Staff was attentive and extremely polite. Requested towels and was taken care of immediately. I felt valued would stay and recommend. Its also family friendly which is a plus.

HVAC in room wasn't very operational. Would come on and blow for 90 seconds and turn off. Lots of noise from people smoking in parking lot late at night.

I didn't like the way the ac functions, staffs are rude especially the cleaners.

The property was nice, clean and in an area that was convenient and felt safe. Breakfast was decent each day with different hot fair each day. They have a yogurt parfait machine. The room was nice, the only issue was the fridge never worked. It was pluged in and we tried it on multiple settings and it never got cold. Might need to replace the fridge cause it definitely didnt keep out leftovers or drinks cold, they were still room temp by morning, if not warmer. Would stay here again as long as the fridges were updated and kept the food cold. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Parking is convenient and they do have an elevator. Overall a decent stay.

The cleaning staff were very rude and loud! I could hear them slamming doors in the morning, i stuck my head out and staff were talking very loud with walkie talkie.

Breakfast area was great one day and just so-so the second day of our stay. First day they had fresh fruit and lots of choices including eggs, bacon,roasted potatoes, waffles and more. Second day the choices were fewer and there was not as much fresh fruit. Price was very competitive. We have stayed here a number of times when visiting relatives in the area and each time we have enjoyed our stay.

The room was clean. The beds were ok. I prefer extra firm. These were pillow top but most people really like those so that is a matter of preference. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had in any hotel.

Booked the suite room and the integrity of the door was compromised. The bottom has been kicked in exposing a gap. Dead Latch Door Lock was barely attached to the door.

My experience at the Best Western Downers Grove location is always phenomenal! They have great service, clean and comfortable rooms, and hot breakfast every morning. The location is also convenient and close to many restaurants. I highly recommend!

Our experience was a great one! The hotel was clean, breakfast area was clean at all times. Had hot breakfast every morning, it could've been a bit warmer. Most hot food was lukewarm but it was still very good. Our room was very clean and spacious. The bed wasnt the most comfortable bed, very firm. Overall though everything was great and would stay again!

After going to a room that had a strong moldy smell, the front desk attendant was so helpful. She moved us to a different room that only had a slight musty smell. We were fine, but someone with allergies might have problems.

The property is well-kept and clean. The staff is constantly cleaning — they regularly vacuum the floors, and the rooms are well-maintained. The only area that could use some improvement is the breakfast, as it wasn’t anything special. Aside from that, everyone was kind, I felt safe throughout my stay, and there’s also a spacious parking area, which was a big plus.

Check-in was at 3:00 pm—the room wasn’t ready until after 4:30 pm. The only “compensation” we got was an upgrade from a king to two doubles. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The experience wasn’t all that great and would have loved a refund to go elsewhere if that was possible.

Room was very loud, from pipes. Sounded like soneobe was taking a shower for over 1 hr. Water running then sudden stop with loud noise. The frond desk personnel was kind and moved me to a room with toilet leak, running all night, coupled with loud snorer somewhere near me. At that point, it was 1 am, i dudnt want to change rooms again

The property is very old. Walls are paper tin. The location of the room given to me was on the 1st floor literally next to the dining area and lobby so what ever they do you would hear it. I didn’t pick king size bed room and staff told me this is the only room available even though I made the reservation months in advance. Didn’t have a restful night here at all.

Don't stay in room #110 if you want any rest because you hear EVERYTHING. It's right next to the lobby so its noisy and people have no consideration for others, even at 10:30 at night when your trying to sleep. It was awful, to the point where I had to call the front desk and complain. The room and hotel was fine for an overnight stay and the staff was friendly, and bent over backwards to accommodate my needs. I also told them that the AC unit needed looked at because it was extremely loud every time it kicked on. To the point where it kept me up. I got only 5 hours of sleep. They did write up a work order for maintenance as I was telling them about this issue.

Didn't stay there because it was the wrong location and wouldn't give a refund or change location, so i would give it a 0 times 1000 for no consideration.

Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay but Breakfast was average. Ran out of things by 9 but breakfast was till 10. Powdered eggs. Wish they had hard boiled eggs like most hotels. Did enjoy yogurt machine.

They made a mistake on the check in and only charge the security deposit. They came at 11pm to knock on my door to get payment. No apologize from them, the two people working that night accused me to try not to pay while I was completely unaware of it.

Just your average Joe kind of hotel. Photos represent it better than when you experience it all with the naked eye. Upon driving up, I was ready to u-turn and go find something more updated. Luckily, the inside was a bit more renovated. Hotel staff wasn't anything above and beyond. The manager, Gabriel, was helpful though. We had to get our towels from there because they don't bring it up to our room - that was a bit odd but I get it, I guess. They also promised us a $50 gift card for making a BW account and we never go that. I'll be contacting them in regards to the misleading information. The common areas were alright. Nothing magnificent. Breakfast area was tight. Laundry room was a bit sketch. If you stand in the hallways, you can hear everything from behind the doors of any room within 10 feet basically. I do have to say the food was GREAT! We loved the variety & the lady attendants were very kind and intentional with their service. I'd only come stay here again for the food. LOL! Pretty kid friendly as we ran into other young families with babies. Also a few creepy men, so be watchful of that. Location is alright. It's right off the highway, so what would we expect, right? I probably would have shopped for a hotel a bit further into Downers Grove since the suburb area is a lot more polished as I prefer. Safety is key when you're traveling with littles. I'd say this passes pretty well on that. Not the best, but it'll do. Cleanliness, eh...could be better.

My stay at this hotel was overall very pleasant. The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff were both friendly and attentive, which made me feel very welcome. There was a microwave in the room, though it was unfortunately damaged. The view from the window was a bit underwhelming as it overlooked the road and cars, but this did not take away from the comfort of the stay. What stood out most was the warm hospitality and the well-kept accommodations, and I would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Overall stay was good, but window in room would not shut fully. They only open a few inches thankfully so was not a risk to my kids safety, but maintenance seems a bit lax as water leaked all night as well in the tub.

We had a fine stay here. Property was clean and staff was nice. We did have an incident around 2:30 am when the weather hit and we were woke up to rain coming through our window. I called the front desk and he told us to put towels in the window and that it was just severe weather. The floor was soaked under the AC unit and about 45 min the AC completely shut off and wouldn’t turn back on. Overall a fine stay and we would probably come back.

We did not have room cleaniness for two days, that means half of days, we did not receive clean sheets or towels. Unbelievanle

I book a two queen beds. What we got was two full’s, most surface’s were either tacky or sticky. Mattress was well worn, I don’t have a clue how to describe the marshmallow pillows. The shower curtain didn’t fully close, so a shower equaled a wet bathroom floor, even the ice bucket leaked on the dresser overnight. The staff was good to excellent

I had to come in for funeral services, so everyone was very accommodating

I followed a cockroach as far as I could in the bathroom and lost it under the sink so I didn't get the chance to dispatch it. They say if there is one there are many. That is something that you really need to know. The breakfast was nice and it was convenient. The bed was comfortable and the temp was stable. The check-in was unusually lengthy. Not really sure what was going on with the person but no harm-no-foul....I eventually got to my room.

The property was clean and pet friendly the price was reasonable and affordable for me and my family and my pets. Thank you it was a much needed break for me and my kids and pets

Very nicely kept up hotel. Front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Housekeeping gal was wonderful. The towels are clean, absorbent and a nice size. All in all, a very nice hotel and amenities. P.s. the free coffee was excellent. Two thumbs up from us.

Great accommodations for the price. Clean and smelled good!. The staff was very attentive. The only downer was the pool wasn’t in service on a perfectly 85 degree day, but maintenance was actively working on it the entire time. Breakfast in the morning was good also. Will be booking agin and recommending to others.

Great place to stay. Stayed on floor with the ice machine. Good breakfast, had a different menu everyday.

Additionally, we lost a great deal of food from chinatown due to the fridge not functioning in our first room. We checked in, put our food away, left and returned to hot food in the fridge. a $130 dollar loss. When I called the front desk, she said we could move rooms, there was no other way to fix the issue (no apology for the loss of food) but we had to come down to change out keys and return the other stuff. That was room 226. The second rooms (218) refrigerator did not work much more. The shower curtain was ripped, there was dirt smudges on the walls, everything was greasy, there were cobwebs in the corners, and stains on every cushion. I laid towels on the chairs to sit down. This hotel really soured our whole vacation.

The breakfast was great. The eggs were perfect! Nice variety of selections to choose from. Convenient to Metra in Belmont and Downers Grove via car. Parking garage in Downers Grove was only $3 for the day.

The staff was accommodating and welcoming as soon as we came in. If we needed anything, just a call to the front desk or any employees walking by would be of service. And Ms Patricia and the the white slim young lady, and the young black slim guy I would definitely give them 10's. Don't get me wrong everyone was super accommodating, but these 3 were my best. Carpet was wet and musty and room was smelling bad . AC was very noisy. Hotel is at a very awkward access - go through in circles through exit ramps to reach . The property itself is pretty dated on the outside but the room was OK for the overnight stay I needed but overall dated and didn’t include basic amenities. The tile on the floor was cracked and the paint was peeling so just a good upgrade would do the trick. The door to the room did make me feel unsafe as a solo traveler as it didn’t really shut fully and had a gap. Overall the hotel is what you pay for and good for a night or two but not much more

This hotel is severely outdated, The rooms and carpet new to be refreshed. My bare feet on the carpet felt like walking on grease. Staff was fine and pleasant. Receptionist needs to slow speech and articulate her words so you can understand her. Noisy neighbors with children under age of 6 running around until after 11:00.

The bathroom door was warped and would not close shut. No privacy because of that. The whole night we could hear people talking outside or whatever, so could not sleep.

Hotel was clean and very nice. Bed was comfy and nice hot water. Nice marble counters. Destinations were super good on travel time.

seemed like there was at least 2 parties/get together on the first floor the 1st night we stayed. Idk, it was probably one of the lesser experiences we’ve had staying anywhere over the past couple of years.

Everything was good with the room, but there were people loitering in the parking lot adjacent to the window of my room, and I heard them until midnight. Slamming car doors, standing around, this went on for two hours. I would pick a different room next time not facing the parking lot. Not sure if they were guests or not so didn’t know if I should call the front desk to complain. Not sure if they could’ve done anything about it.

The hotel is small but clean. The breakfast didn't meet my expectations. I know what they offer is an American breakfast, but the eggs were so artificial they were pale and tasted horrible. I asked for a room with two beds, and it was extremely small. The location isn't bad, but it needs some adjustments.

Price was good. Problem: Walls really thin so neighbors sound like they’re in the room with you, lock’s deadbolt didn’t work, refrigerator was broken, didn’t have room I booked available at checkin so they gave me handicapped room.

My room’s AC and fridge were not working, a necessity for me. He offered me a room with two double beds on the “pets” floor but that doesn’t work for me. Lots of people standing around smoking. I got a really creepy vibe and left within an hour of arriving. I don’t know why this hotel gets such good reviews. I’ve never been so turned off and creeped out at a hotel in my life.

Upon my arrival there were multiple people in the hallway smoking weed and being disruptive. The hotel smelled like weed my entire stay.

The people working at the hotel were wonderful and helpful. However, our door was apparently not working with the key card-coding system, and we got locked out at night when we were exhausted and just wanting to sleep. It took half an hour to resolve, mainly because the beleaguered, solo concierge was too busy fielding complaints from other guests to break away and let us in. Also, the whole hotel had several odors, the most predominant one being weed. It’s legal to smoke weed in Illinois, and although the hotel is non-smoking, apparently people don’t obey that rule.

The hotel was fine and clean and a decent hot breakfast. I’m from out of town and I was coming back in a week and talked to the manager Gabriel about any discount he could offer for a two week stay. He emailed me back, regurgitating the same prices found online and throwing in $50 credit if I signed up for the rewards program but beyond that, no other discount was offered so I ended up not staying there again.

This is the ugliest and most outdated hotel I have ever been to. The shower curtain rod was coming off of the wall, and the decor was very depressing and unattractive. This hotel needs a complete update.

The room, lobby and area was fine.

Did not accept cash, people loitering outside every door smoking weed, seemed like more of a residential building for low or no income people. Had to change rooms at 10 pm due to a party next door and terribly thin walls. Will not be back!

It was cool. Close to a lot of stuff. Clean modern look, yet simple..little effort needed. Nice staff people and the reception staff were real cool. They made us feel comfortable yet still professional. Asked if we had any other needs and thanked us for our stay. The night staff, breakfast staff, and room attendants were very welcoming and made me feel they enjoyed their job. It was really a great stay. I normally don’t do these, but I felt they needed to be recognized as EVERY employee I encountered gave the same vibe…impressive…

The location was great. The only thing I felt confusing this hotel is on Butterfield Road not really on Finely. The Brazilian Steakhouse covers it up from Finley Road.

The room was clean and the staff was very pleasant. There were a lot of food options in walking distance of the hotel. The reason for four stars (1) the bathroom was small (2) continental breakfast was meh! Powdered eggs and processed sausage patties; but there was fruit, cereal and oatmeal. Also coffee with creamer. So one could find something to eat there before going out for the morning. I liked this place for a quick couple of days. Lots of parking.

Staff was good but we had broken things in our room, the beds are super uncomfortable and there was so much different smells in the hallway. Breakfast was good though

The front desk staff was very nice. The place is basic but clean. The parking lots are a bit dark and there was a lot of people hanging outside smoking. The biggest issue is that the walls are paper thin. I could hear the person in the next room, snoring, through the walls.

Noise issue next door so I moved rooms at 1 am. The room I was moved to, staff were loudly talking next to at 6 am, as it was next to the dining area and front desk.

I’ve stayed here a few times before and never really had an issue except them not allowing me a late check out once. This time somehow I booked a handicap room and it was in the first floor next to the fitness room. The hallway smelled horrible. The bed super uncomfortable. I was told I had to keep that room. I ended up going on my outing and leaving right after I didn’t stay the night.

The pillows are way too soft and it smelled a little mildew when you first opened the door, but it goes away

I like this property

Amount of parking wasn’t very good. Having to walk each time through entire hotel because of card readers on the doors not working. Update those door readers. One day room was not cleaned when sign was on door to clear for at least 4 hours while we were gone. Supply better body soap. Bar soap is horrible. Saturday night guests were extremely loud throughout hotel. There should be a time when quiet hour finally happens. 3 am people roaming halls and doors slamming and talking loudly. Something should be enforced for a quiet time.

My family and I were pleasantly surprised by our stay here! For such a low rate, we weren't sure what to expect, but even though the hotel is rather small, it was nicely updated and the room was great. Updated, clean, and everything worked well. I appreciated the simple things such as a clock (most hotels never have these any more), blackout shades on the window that actually work, comfortable bedding, and a refrigerator. The only bummer was that the pool is outdoors so no swimming in February... guess I didn't look into that enough before we booked. Overall, a great stay.

I booked a hotel for me and my three kids they was not queen size beds they were for size. The beds was very hard not comfortable at all. The blanket issues were very thin and they have two Cover pads on the bed to make the bed comfortable, but it did not work.. I did not know about the extra hundred dollars until I get there to check in because it did not say that on a website that I have to pay an extra hundred dollars

The location is good, it puts you in the middle of excellent restaurants both fast food and fine dining. Every store you can think of is within a 1/4 of a mile.

I stayed over a weekend and with the restaurant next door, parking was limited in front of the hotel. Also traffic coming due to restaurant customers. That was my only complaint!

My husband and I frequent this hotel often, when wanting to get away for the weekend. The rooms are always clean, the beds and pillows are comfortable and the staff is always pleasant. There's always a generous selection for breakfast. It's usually scrambled eggs, meat, waffles, cereal, cereal and great coffee. This hotel is very well maintained. It has a convenient location, with proximity to the 355, I80 and the 294. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from. We consider this hotel to be a hidden gem.
