    The room was very dated & needs updating. There was only 1 face towel & 1 bath towel in the bathroom. The TV remote felt sticky Good points: Parking was available & easy. Elevators worked. Air conditioner worked well. Pillows were comfortable. Room was quiet & I didn't hear outside noises

    What made the experience frustrating was that after arriving at the hotel, I had to wait approximately 2.5 hours for my room to be cleaned and made available. The lobby was extremely crowded, with very limited seating, and my son and I ended up sitting on the floor while waiting. Since the hotel accepted my reservation through Expedia, I expected that a room would be available within a reasonable timeframe. After a long day of travel and an unexpected flight cancellation, the extended wait and lack of accommodations in the lobby made an already stressful situation much worse.

    Staff was friendly and understanding. Had a maintenance and cleaning issue with first room and I was moved immediately upon notifying the staff. I do wish cooking supplies were larger. I did appreciate the kitchen and proximity to airport.

    This hotel was not that. There was hair on the floor, the television was broken, the carpets were dingy as were the walls. The owners of this property are clearly running it into the ground. The shower faucet was broken, the toilet seat was loose, the towels were subpar, the tub needs to be scrubbed. This place has clearly been franchised out to an owner or owner group that is running the property into the ground. I guess I should add Sonesta to my must avoid list.

    I was turned away and told that they couldn't find my reservation. I had to sleep at the airport. I waited two hours from them to clean a room and then they turned me away. They blamed it on hotels.com

    Everything was absolutely awesome for me...... Unfortunately, for many others their check in may lasted upwards of 8 hours... An ugly, painful 8 hours... I witnessed it with my own eyes... Many others as well... The poor staff didn't deserve that nor did other guests with rooms. You know a bed, food, shower, toilet.... All that fun stuff especially, after you've been charged for it and are stuck in this pickle that greedy ass owners want to save a buck... Kudos to Karen for getting it resolved quickly... And her staff... Reward them.... Maybe reward all the guests that experienced it..... Shame on you...

    My flight was cancelled and I booked a room through Expedia only to show up and have to wait 3 hours because my room wasn’t ready. Didn’t get into a room until 2am and the price wasn’t cheap. I don’t know why they would continue to take reservations if they couldn’t accommodate. I was not the only one waiting, there were about 15 others. The only positive was the free airport shuttle and the gentleman at the front desk was great . They also charged me $28.00 for a toothbrush and toothpaste and a bottle of water. Horrible experience do not go here .

    Bathroom toilet clogged up twice at 3am and 4 am it was awful. Reached out to the front desk about getting a plunger and having him come up to fix the toilet and he told me to come downstairs and get the plunger from him and bring the plunger back after I got done unclogging the toilet, which nothing was in the toilet with water.

    The room is Okey. We drove to Chicago and planned to fly out for four days, staying at the hotel upon our return. The hotel’s information indicated that guests could use the parking lot for an additional fee. However, it turned out that this option was available only if you stayed the night *before* leaving your car for those extra days; the reverse order was not permitted. You could not leave your car first and stay the night upon your return. I had a non-refundable reservation, which—in my view—guaranteed that we would indeed be hotel guests four days later. The hotel management showed no flexibility. To avoid such misunderstandings, the terms for parking services need to be clearly defined. In the end, we used the airport’s economy parking lot for the same price; it actually turned out to be safer and more convenient logistically. Had I known the rules regarding the additional parking days beforehand, I would not have booked this hotel.

    The hotel shuttle to the airport is fast and free of charge. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere in general was calm, which is what's needed when travelling long distances. The airco. It was going full speed, lots of noise, no switching off the fan.

    I booked this hotel through Expedia about a month before my actual trip. We arrived early and was told it would be $55 to check in early, we denied the offer and came back later that night. I guess during the day the card on file didn’t go through and instead of calling me personally to ask about the card or maybe ask for a different one to put on file…they COMPLETELY canceled my reservation. When arrived back that night, they had no idea about me or my room. They also tried to say “they were sold out for the night” but after about 20-25 mins of “looking” they found us a room. My original stay for two nights was $290. They ended up charging me that exact price for ONE night! I had to get another hotel for my second night. On top of all of this, when we checked into our room, there was dirty plates in the sink. Overall I didn’t appreciate the attitude from the staff, they were useless and not helpful at all. Don’t waste your time here…stay at the Hampton literally right down the road, it’s much better anyway!!!!

    First arrived checked in and given keys to a room that didn’t work. Went to rescan them still didn’t work , they tried master key and still couldn’t get into the room paid for. They gave me a replacement where this room had a bad smell, broken chair, and broke ice maker.

    1. Room key out of order. (NOT JUST OUR ROOM) Was told to ask a front desk to lock & unlock the room whenever gets in &out. After negotiation, they finally give me the so- called Master Key, and if it was lost, will cost us $50 2. Coffee machine was out of order the whole week??? 3. The tephlon pans were badly scratched & toxic to human health. 4. Toilet was flooded every time stayed( no exception this time) Was given a plunger to self helped everything. Put up with it bc of the cheap price but this time was charged over $170+ tax which ttl to over $1000 with parking foe less than a week. Totally not worth the price, in my humble opinion . No improvement whatsoever . Outdated facilities and outdated overall. Won't consider it again if it's not under $100 or lower.

    Property is what it is. A bed by the airport. It is a bit tired and needs some updating, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Thermostat for the a/c was nonfunctional but the temp was ok where it was set. My biggest gripe is that they allow you to park and fly, but only with a hotel stay prior to the travel. If I had known this I would not have booked this property, as I needed parking for travel prior to the hotel stay.

    This hotel is just okay. It’s convenient to airport, however most of the furniture is outdated. Especially the heater/ac which kept up loud noises all day and night. Thermostat on wall did not work! The tv’s and chairs were also old and worn. I would not choose this for an extended stay.

    Upon arrival, the lobby door was locked and required a room key to enter. The curtain was drawn at the office window so I knocked and they buzzed me in. Check in was cumbersome even though I had already secured and paid for the room. The attendant kept saying there were no rooms available and required help several times. The tiny lobby was shabby and the elevator felt like an oven. The room itself was clean and served the purpose. Ceiling cracks were visibly caulked several times over which left a “ lipstick on a pig” impression.

When we approached the check in desk, the staff member said no check in until 3PM, I kindly told her that we already paid for the day prior. She then curtly said you need to check out a 11AM. I again had to inform he that our reservation was for 2 nights. It would have been nice if she actually looked up our reservation before being rude.

    The bed was comfortable, which is about the best I can say. The lobby smelled. The elevator was dirty. The hallway smelled and the carpet looked dirty. Inside the room, the sink had a huge crack in it. The toilet had rust stains. The mirror was losing its reflection on the bottom. If you only need a quick night to get to the airport, it worked fine, but I would not stay here for any length of time except that the price was good.

    Unfortunately, things did not improve once I arrived at the hotel. The front desk employee was also unpleasant and unwelcoming. After a stressful travel day, the last thing guests should have to deal with is poor customer service. Both employees made an already frustrating situation even worse

    Friendly and helpful staff, free shuttle to and from the airport, plenty of room, comfortable bed. There is a gym and a laundry facility, which I did not use but appreciate were available. Only a minor complaint: I noticed an odor on occasion. Could have been somebody else cooking, and I quickly got used to it, but it was noticeable. I'd stay again and recommend.

    Not clean at all the hotel looked very old-fashioned and poorly maintained. I was also told by the front desk that I would not be receiving room service, which I didn’t understand considering how much I paid for my stay.The room was extremely dark, and one of the light bulbs was broken. I asked the front desk if someone could replace the bulb and improve the lighting because the room felt very dull. I was told someone would come the next day, but no one ever did. There were also several maintenance issues in the room. Underneath the sink, there was orange material glued to the bottom, cables were hanging out of the dishwasher onto the floor, and the kitchen sink had a bad leak. The shuttle service they advertise was also very disappointing. When I arrived at the airport, I called for the shuttle and was told it would take about 30 minutes. After waiting over 2 hours with no shuttle, I became so frustrated that I had to call an Uber myself. On my last day, I did use the shuttle to return to the airport, but the driver was extremely rude. He kept saying he had never heard of my airline and told me I needed to figure out which terminal to go to, even after speaking to his boss over the walkie-talkie. It seemed unreasonable that he did not know the airport terminals as a shuttle driver. To make matters worse, after dropping off another couple, the driver failed to fully close the back doors of the Sprinter van before driving away. My suitcase fell out onto the road

    Look elsewhere. Even if it costs more, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Parking was fine, but that's pretty much where it ended. Walking up to the entrance and we saw two guys smoking "something". The check in staff wasn't friendly and looked annoyed that they had to do their job. I'm not sure if these double as apartments, but there were people milling around who looked like they were living there. Our room wasn't "dirty", but it had seen many better days. The kitchen would have been a nice touch, except everything was just, yuck. Plus, only a single fork was in the drawer. The pull out bed arguably the worst I have ever felt. Two sheets of cardboard would have been more comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but desperately needs some love. Cracked tile, water stains, etc... The bed in the bedroom was better than the pull out, but not by much. Worst night of sleep I've had in ages. Overall, don't waste your money.

SURPRISINGLY THERE WAS CART AVAILABLE FOR CHECKING OUT,,,,THANKFULLY! ALL IN ALL,,IT MET OUR MINIMUM NEEDS AT THAT TIME. ONE TOWEL EACH SO I HAD TO DRY IT FOR THE FOLLOWING USE! NOTHING IN ROOM TO INFORM US OF DESK NUMBER, WIFI INSTRUCTIONS, EATING PLACES,,JUST ONE PLACARD FOR ONE PIZZA PLACE!

    The area was quiet. I felt safe. The only bummer was the garbage disposal was not working and the entryway light in the room was burnt out. The guest services offered to have maintenance fix things ASAP or switch me to another room - my choice. The front desk was very helpful. The shuttle drivers were excellent; they even lifted my luggage in and out of the shuttle bus for me. This was a huge help due to the low back pain issue of which I was suffering. I would stay here again!

    The room was filthy. I had my toddler with me and it was not at all to a standard where they could play. The bed comfort was awful and the pillows smelled terrible. The AC didn’t work and we desperately needed it and nobody could help us. The AC fan whistled all night so nobody slept. Literally the worst place I have ever stayed and I have to stay by the Chicago airport every other month or so. Never again.

    The firet room I was given hadn't even been cleaned. Was switched rooms. The jext one had a chair that was ancient and the covering material was completelt worn out in several places. Curtains were certainly decades old as were the lamp shades. Body lotion refillable bottle was empty. Several parts of the hotel require renovation.

    A bit disappointed with one of the staff members. I stayed two days, but only one day's worth of coffee is supplied in the room. I asked at the front counter if I could get a coffee packet for the second morning. She said yes, but then couldn't find one. She returned to the counter and said there weren't any available. In my mind, what she should have done is jot down my room number and let me know she would track one down and get back to me (or have it delivered). Instead she just gave me the "this discussion is over" look. The problem was exacerbated by the broken coffee machine in the lobby...so I walked to Dunkin for coffee in the morning.

    When I finally got a room at 5:30, the recliner footrest was broken. The room was 62 degrees with the A/C on full blast, making a loud squealing noise. I tried to adjust the wall and unit controllers, but could not turn off the fan or stop the sound. I returned to the desk to try to get another room, which I was granted. However, the second room also had the A/C on full blast at 62 degrees. The fan was excessively loud, but it wasn't squealing and I could adjust the temperature (or so I thought). The room had obviously been cleaned hurriedly and very sloppily. There was a plate in the microwave with food scraps on it, a used washcloth hanging over the shower curtain rod, no toilet paper on the roller (fortunately there was a roll under the sink, which smelled musty), and several bits of food and small paper scraps were under the desk and around the perimeter of the floor. The alarm clock cord was damaged/partially missing and unable to be used. I was exhausted and had a very early flight so I decided to just accept it. I slept poorly because the fan was so loud cycyling on and off. I woke up to a 62 degree room despite setting it to 70. The shuttle was on time though! Overall, very poor.

    I was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews, but left extremely happy and overly satisfied! Karen at the front desk was extremely kind and accommodating. I showed up at 1:30pm as I had to drop off my rental, she let me check in without a fee as they had a room ready. She was also extremely kind and understanding about my late checkout. Karen deserves a raise! Loved dealing with her! The location was perfect for a flight out of Ohare. A quick Uber to numerous restaurants, room was large and stocked with dishes, utensils, an iron and the bed was comfortable. I will be back! Nothing comes to mind.

    Parking was easy, my only issue is the Credit Card machines would not accept a Debit Card for payment. I ended up using my Master Card instead. Using my major card was not a issue but standing at the desk and having your card decline 5 times is a little embarrassing. There was no indication that it had to be paid by a major card. I was told they had been having problems with that particular credit card terminal. I just did not enjoy the feeling of embarrassment after watching my card be repeatedly declined only to watch the major card work in one swipe. This happend to my coworker who was checking in with me as well,so it wasnt a one off occurrence.

    Unfortunately, the first room I was assigned had a strong odor of marijuana. However, the staff handled the situation promptly, moved me to a new room right away, and were very apologetic. The new room was extremely clean and comfortable, and everything appeared to be in great condition. The only issue I encountered was that there were no towels in the room, so I did have to return to the front desk to request some. Otherwise, the room was quiet, I slept well, and checkout was quick and seamless. I also appreciated the airport shuttle, which arrived within 15 minutes.

    Room was not properly cleaned. There was left over food in the pantry. There was a sticky residue left in the cabinets. The property had a smell to it, not sure what it is but it’s not a clean smell. The restrooms have zero space for personal hygiene products. Finally, the TVs were maybe the first 32” flatscreens to ever be made. I know it’s the soonest but cmon. Oh, and they charge for parking.

I was very kind and polite but he acted short and very cross with me for no reason. It got so bad to the point where I snapped back & then when I was dropped off, he tried to be polite to me but at that point it was already too late. That was the start to a terrible stay here. Upon arriving, I was told that even though I pre-paid, I had to pay a $150 deposit which I never received an email for even though the front desk staff told me they send out emails about the deposit before arriving. Again. I never received that email. The room I had looked clean when I walked through the door, but the kitchen area was gross and the trash cans both in the room & the bathroom hadn’t been emptied from the previous person staying there. There were food stains and reside still left on the utensils and on the cabinets, stains and hair all in the bathroom and a blocked up toilet that I told staff about, but nothing was done to rectify the issues. The only good thing about this stay was me leaving. I will never recommend this place to anyone and will never come back.

    Expedia then tried calling repeatedly and also couldn’t get through. Three days before my trip, they finally reached someone, asked about a refund or credit, and the hotel staff said “no” and hung up. I will never book with Sonesta again. No guest should have to deal with this level of unresponsiveness.

    Staff was absolutely amazing. Karen is a joy and the most accommodating person I think I’ve ever met. I was in Chicago for an interview and I was nervous to get the job knowing I’ll be moving to Chicago, but after my stay I’m happy to move to Chicago if everyone has half the personality and disposition as Karen. I honestly thought Karen was the owner because she showed so much care. Property was also extremely clean with no issues there either. Would definitely stay here again.

    Had a good experience at this hotel. Close to the airport, shuttle included, gas station for food and snacks were a few steps away, easy check in- the lady was nice. Only complaint is that our floor/room did smell like someone chained smoked in there for years. But I would definitely recommend this place, the pros outweigh the cons.

    The front desk person in the morning was so unfriendly, we had a guest visiting in the lobby for 5 mins and they wouldn’t let us sit in the lobby and wanted to move to a chair that’s out there in the cold. We had asked for extension for checkout and she wouldn’t clearly cite the price and wanted us to ask hour by hour increase rate instead of explaining.     pointed to a coffee machine with a “out of order” sign on it. Once to my room, I pulled out a plate to put my meal on and it was used and dirty. Upon further investigation, every plate in the cabinet, 2 forks and a cooking pot had been placed back into the cabinets dirty. The bathtub stopper didn’t work either. Considering I booked the hotel through Expedia and got it for a good deal cheaper than I was quoted by the property directly , I guess it was “ok”, however, it was nowhere near a $200 hotel which is the price I was quoted when I called the property directly. Very disappointing stay.

    Sonesta Simply Suites is a very basic property in terms of amenities, such as no breakfast offering, minimal lobby area / seating and challenges with accommodating guest requests. That said, the room itself was very comfortable and well laid out, probably more suited to a business professional than a vacationer. The location is very good in terms of the airport, restaurants and other locations. Also, the room rate was excellent. Overall, not fancy, but a nice place to stay, especially for business travel.

    The hotel is also used by extended stay guests, and my room was huge and well stocked! It was clean and comfortable. There is a full sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, pots, pans, etc. There is even a full sized dishwasher. The bed was very comfortable. There is a thermostat on the wall and the heat worked well. The bathroom was large. The shower/bathtub has shampoo, conditioner and body wash in individual large pump containers. I had a very nice night and will definitely stay again!

    The staff was very nice especially when it came to extending my stay due to a canceled flight. The room its self was very clean and comfortable. During my stay I did use the kitchenette and they provided everything needed.

    There were a variety of issues. The most significant was that our room was accessed by someone around midnight. The person opened the door, yelled “sorry!” then closed it. Such a horrible feeling. Second, our room shared a wall with the elevators which were very noisy and shook the bed. Needless to say these two issues combined to make for extremely poor sleep. Additionally, the bottles of hand soap and body wash were empty. There was no bar soap. Lastly, there was no instruction card for the tv. All in all, a horrible experience.

    The room was bigger than anticipated and extraordinarily clean. Even though I was only there for one night, I appreciated the full size refrigerator with ice maker and microwave along with basic items to fix meals in the room. Free coffee in the lobby and in the room was a nice touch along with a lot of tv channels to watch. The free airport shuttle was very convenient.

    The room was very clean and big. Unfortunately I had a terrible view, and the coffee machine downstairs wasn’t working. They were very prompt at giving the airport shuttle there especially given the weather. I really appreciate it. I think the gym was really nice. I’d say the only issue I had was being charged $150 incidental charge when I checked in even though that it never been communicated to me that it would be that amount prior to me checking in. But if you need a quick place to stay, or a place to stay for a few nights, this is a perfect place. It’s well priced, and it has a functional kitchen, so you can save money on food.

    TV didn’t work. I kept trying to request a shuttle from the airport and kept getting hung up on. Ended up chasing another Sonesta shuttle to another pickup location at the airport only to find out it wouldn’t go to my hotel. I kept calling and begging the guy who answered not to hang up and just send me a shuttle. It was only then that I finally was told that the bus to the hotel wasn’t labeled with the hotel name and was labeled travel jet or something like that. I needed to know that before waiting outside in the cold for an hour. The check-in guy was severely overwhelmed and could’ve used some help. My room was fine and clean, but the TV didn’t work. At check-out, I let the guy at the counter know, and he said, “great,” and smiled. I asked, “Why is that great?” But he ignored me. I don’t think I should’ve been charged full price for something that wasn’t fully functioning

    Horrible service at the front desk. Due to the air traffic control problems and the severe winter weather many flights were cancelled. When we got to this property around midnight they had sold our room to a walk in and was sold out. Then they refused to give us a refund even though they had already charged our credit card. We called the manager the next day and they said we were listed as a no show. I said to pull the security camera footage and the airport shuttle drivers would remember us since we talked with them. They refused. Avoid this place at all costs.

    The person from sonesta that took my call had an unfortunately impossible to understand thick indian accent. I had to ask about 6 times something like "sorry, could you say that again?" Until I noticed his frustration. I was getting a bit frustrated myself because I didnt know how to get the shuttle service. Eventually I just hung-up and walked to talk to the people around what I figured were the shuttles and figured it out, but it was a very uncomfortable experience.

    Airport shuttle took over 45 minutes to arrive, and that was after 4 calls to the hotel. Room is sufficiently clean but there was a used towel left in the bathroom. There are very limited/no places to eat or buy food nearby. Workout room is pretty good and location near O'hare is convenient

    The beds and bathrooms were really clean. Mattress had nothing on the bottom or stains which I really look for when I’m staying at a hotel. Staff was super helpful, welcoming and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a clean space to stay at.

    great location by ORD, hotel looks like they recently remodeled all the rooms with new carpet, and flooring. however you can tell it is older design by the drywall and molding's wear. i liked the full size refrigerator, but was missing pots and pans in cabinets, like a hyatt house or homewood suites would have, but then those hotels are likely more expensive

    Abdullah at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. We arrived at the hotel around 11:30 p.m. the night before the Chicago Marathon after our reservation at the hotel next door fell through, and he was so kind and patient as we scrambled in. Abdullah let us know about a couple of last-minute cancellations and went above and beyond to help us. Thanks to him, we were able to quickly book a room online and get settled for the night. He was just as helpful and friendly the next morning during checkout. We can’t thank you enough, Abdullah—you truly saved the day!

    The airport shuttle was great, very prompt. The hotel itself felt very dirty, the hallways smelled like weed, cigarettes and cheap cologne to cover up the previous two. The elevator was disgusting with spit on the floor. I only had to stay for one night because of a layover but there’s no way I’d stay for more. My door looked like the police had to open it with a battering ram. Very sketchy place

    The staff was great when we asked to switch rooms (due to the first room smelling a little like burnt food). They upgraded us to a bigger room for free. Didn't use rhe kitchen but would be great for people who want to. The airport shuttle guy didn't come inside the lobby to check for us before he left so that was a little annoying, but he did circle back. Would stay again

    Room was nice but the bathroom could have done with cleaning better. I’m the corners there were still hair and dirt. In the morning the self service machine was not excepting cards payment for water, and they didn’t take cash. No a great experience when running the Chicago marathon. All the staff kept telling me is to call head office to complain.

    The shuttle was an essential service. Thank you. The kitchen was well enough furnished to prepare a few meals. The coffee in the room was much better than the coffee in the lobby. And the proximity of a food and drink source gave me close access to sandwiches and breakfast items, cheaper than what was on offer in the hotel.

    The staff at check in refused to accept my Mastercard for the security deposit hold because it wasn’t a Wells Fargo, Chase or BofA card but IT IS a major credit card. The room was dirty. My TV did not turn on. I reported to front desk and they said most of the TVs were like that. Horrible experience. Do not recommend.
