good value for the price. Parking can be full especially if returning to hotel late at night. Mattress could not be worse, very soft and lumpy. We were on 4th floor and heard a constant hum of a motor of some sort, luckily AC in room is relatively quiet. Bathroom lacks any kind of hooks, shelf, or rack to hang towels/clothes. Would not repeat.

Parking was also a bit excessive at $39 per day. The king size room was comfortable but also small

I was a part of the Garden Grove evacuation, Sonesta was awesome in helping my family out. Finding rooms on the same floor... and it's a pet friendly hotel! With all the pets I saw on the property it was always clean. Fresh smelling throughout. Thank you Sonesta!!

The beds were amazing. I have lower back and sciatic issues, normally waking up in pain, not so here. My wife and I slept through the night with no problem

Great location near the airport with a fitness room and pool. WiFi worked great for work calls and hotel is clean and staff welcoming.

Had. The executive quarters. Nice upgrades on the property, but need to spend more money on the interior rooms in itself. 1. Piece of plywood structure covering the furnace. 2. Did not take a shower due to mold forming at the bottom edges of the tile in the shower. 3. Toilet was installed lopsided. 4. Smoke alarm cover came off, maintenance personal were summoned. Kerig Coffee maker did not work. 6. Housekeeping is very important in Hotel Hospitality, but was not in this case. I gave 3 stars because the outside structure was nice. Maybe a 1 star for your interior. It should be noted that several years ago we got married in Sonesta in Milpitas California. I am sorry that it has declined so much.

The bed was so comfortable! I can’t speak on all the amenities, and the building definitely has aged- but the bed alone and the kind staff would make me visit again!

Flew in right before 11pm & was exhausted. But, the staff at the desk was friendly and got me checked in quickly. Loved my stay!

This was my second stay. The front desk staff, the waitress at the restaurant (Maribel), the older gentleman who looked like a manager named John, and JC Hernandez were so welcoming I felt like I was eating at grandmas kitchen. The place is beautiful, the service brough back the joy of travel again. Hotel experience has gone down so much over time, this place brings it back. I cant wait to go back. The 1/2 burger is amazing, and so is the Loco Moco

The location Arrived at the hotel at 1015pm after our flight from Miami was delayed 5 hrs. I pre warned the hotel that I had a service dog. All of the necessary documents. Upon arriving at the hotel. A man after some time finally asks how can I help you. I said. I’d like to check in please. Handed him my ID and CC. My husband walked in with our service dog and suitcases while I was checking in. Angel rudely said it will be $70-$75 for dog. I explained it was a service animal. He asked what service it provided which I was taken back with. I replied. I never been asked that question and fly with him all the time. I didn’t really want him to know that my dog is able to grab my inhaler. As I suffer with extreme asthma. So I told angel. He supports me. Angel with a grin and cocky attitude said… it will be $75. Again I explained it was service dog. I have a binder with his papers. He refused to acknowledge them. I whispered that he helps me before an asthma attack comes on. He laughed in my face. After 9 hours of traveling I didn’t have the energy to fight with him. I told to cancel the room. Not about the money. Because I felt zero empathy from him. He laughed in my face. So we got in the car I called booking.com who was wonderful. They told me to go back to the hotel and show them the papers. Well let’s just say Angel became ruder. I don’t want to see the papers it’s $70. I told him I had booking.com on the phone. After standing in the lobby another 50 min Booking.com found us another location minutes away. The following day we were at the airport by 7am to catch our flight to miami. Your customer service agent Eduardo C. Could not have done anymore to help calm us down. He was wonderful.

We needed a last minute hotel before an early morning SNA flight. This hotel was excellent value for dollar and felt a cut above the traditional motel-style hotel airports. Clean, well run and 2 min from the airport. We enjoyed an evening swim in a really nice pool to relax before the flight.

We got a room on the 14th floor and couldn’t sleep at all due to the noise that the a/c units make on the roof. Next time we will make sure to not get a room at the very top.

The location is close to the airport and the shuttle was a comfortable mini van. The room was great with very comfortable beds. The shower didn’t get very hot but it was fine. The restaurant has wonderful food. The pool/hot tub are indoors so the chlorine odor was VERY strong. The pool is more of a kid play pool than a resort pool. It’s a nice hotel if you’re in town for other things. The hotel itself wouldn’t be “the destination”. I would stay there again because it’s clean and comfortable and It’s close to a lot of great things in the area.

I stay at this hotel almost every month and the service and hospitality remains consistent and amazing. Staff is always welcoming, and even when I go a few months without staying, when I return they still manage to remember my face which makes me feel really at home. The rooms are always so clean and comfortable, and I love that the tvs have chromecast so I can watch shows off of my devices. The restaurant downstairs is also really good, I love eating dinner there when I just feel like staying in. The gym is also one of the best hotel gyms I've ever been to! They have dumbbells and kettlebells, along with a few benches for weight training which is so nice because I really feel like I can get a full workout in during my stay. The pool is indoors along with a jacuzzi which is great because I love having the option to take a dip even when the weather isn't so great outside. Overall, my favorite hotel in the area. I love Sonesta Irvine <3

The check-in process was very easy. The room was clean and well put together. The indoor pool was very nice and the main reason we stayed here. My only complaint is paying $39/night for parking. Given the already pricy room rates I would think parking could be much cheaper or maybe free. Were it not for the pool we probably would have opted for an option with free parking in the surrounding area. Otherwise the hotel was good overall.

Never stayed at a Sonesta Hotel. Exceeded expectations. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean. Pool was clean and temperature was amazingly warm and the outdoor area was a great place to chill and relax. There was a large artificial grassy area with strung lights and comfy seating. The room was nicely decorated and enjoyed the spacious shower. One gripe was the $39 parking fee which seemed to par for the area.

A beautiful property, indeed. The Christmas decorations added such a nice touch. The staff all were very pleasant, especially Vanessa at the front desk. Above and beyond. The housekeeping staff was amazing. As they do their improvements, only suggestion would be to replace slightly lumpy, soft beds. Other than that, an incredible stay!

This is a great hotel, very quiet, clean. The showers could use an upgrade but overall I would stay there again. Food and bar options are good but I found it weird you can’t get Coke products in this hotel. Also, there is construction going on outside the lobby/main entrance but it wasn’t loud or distracting.

The service was lacking. They didn’t offer my VIP benefits at check in because they seemed hasty in getting us in. Then the next night we wanted to get water that they had in the lobby and there were no cups. One of the female front desk staff kind rolled he eyes when we asked about getting some cups. There were no toner people there so they weren’t super busy unless they were doing something online that needs focus . But they’re the front staff so I figure they’re the ones to be responsible for that. The male staff got us bottled water so that made it better but I felt unwelcomed by that female staff member. In general the front desk didn’t seem all that welcoming, which is fine , I was just taken aback by that female employee who seemed super annoyed that we approached them.

The in-house dining was clearly understaffed. There were only two hardworking ladies managing the bar, serving, and waiting tables, They did their best, but it was a lot for just two people. I also tried contacting hotel services several times but never received any response. Overall, the hotel benefits from being in a prime location, which might be why it’s considered a “fancy” place. However, the service and room comfort definitely need improvement to match the price and reputation.

First time staying at a Sonesta. Staff at check in and check out were friendly. I was lucky to get a room on the top floor. Everything in the room and bathroom looked new and clean. The one thing I didn’t like was the large vent opening in the wall about 8 x 10 inch in size that blows directly at you. Strange it’s not longitudinal and up high. Parking was not clear upon driving in as it was over $30 a day if I grabbed a ticket to get pass the gate. There were no spots to park temporarily while I check in. I pulled over to the side. After check in, they provided me with card key to get in and out of garage. Location was good, with a car it was just few minutes to WholeFoods, Costco, and Diamond Gymboree (Asian plaza with restaurants and bakery).

I regularly stay at this hotel,because of the trust I have in your service.However,this time I was completely dissatisfied. The water in the shower was cold, although we reported it to the reception and the issue was fixed once, the same problem happened again. As a result,we were late to our appointment twice, the cold water also caused me body aches.In addition,when using the sink,there was an unpleasant smell,and the water and foam drained very slowly. Water even came back up toward my face unfortunately 😡 Altogether, these issues ruined our two-night trip was spoiled due to the problems we experienced during our stay at this hotel unfortunately 😡😡😡😡

My child loved the indoor pool and spa, and Newport Pier was just a quick 19-minute drive away. Overall, the hotel provided an exceptional and welcoming environment. The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious, and the air conditioning was refreshingly cold! Prior to our stay, I was not familiar with Sonesta, but it will now be our home away from home when traveling. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and made us feel like valued guests during our time there!

I loved this hotel. I have stayed at a number of properties in this area and was surprised by how much I loved this hotel. The decor is clean and fresh, I loved the wellness messaging throughout the property. The gym was well equipped and the pre booked parking was reasonable. It was also with walking distance of a few great restaurants.

Only downside is you have to pay for parking!

When I raised this at the counter, the staff’s response was dismissive and unprofessional — essentially, “Yeah, pay it. There are no other options,” delivered with a smirk. That’s not customer service, that’s arrogance. At check-out, when I asked where to drop my key, the receptionist didn’t even bother with eye contact and just muttered, “Drop it in the bowl.” For a property charging this much, the lack of transparency, hidden fees, and outright rude front desk staff are unacceptable. Guests deserve honesty and basic courtesy, not attitude and surprise charges

We had a stay with our pet at this hotel for a night. And so far, Sonesta has been our best experience traveling with our dog. Normally, hotels that accept pets are not as clean and fully consider Pet owners' needs. The room was hardwood and well-ventilated, and there was a pleasantly landscaped area around the property to walk the dog. Nice staff and easy to check in and out proccess.

Wish I was staying longer. Room was clean and the bathroom has lovely fixtures.

Nice hotel and room. Small annoyances… The motion detector light switch in the bathroom was set too short, so the lights always turned off mid-shower. Then there was an LED light, probably from a smoke detector, that kept blinking in the room, and it was bright enough to wake me up. And be prepared to pay for parking, though that seems the norm in Irvine. Again, small things at a pretty nice hotel.

Great location and very nice, clean rooms. Just wish FULL BAR was available at lunch time. Only beer was available for lunch. Stayed there twice in the past couple of weeks and enjoyed it. Will definitely stay there again.

I liked the interior design, the different spaces available for working or just reading or relax. Gym with all the basic needed for a session. Good pool for swimming. Great location with good options for eating around. Missing: water available in the room, shower cap in the bathroom. A more complete market.

This hotel has one of the best accessible rooms I have experienced, especially the bathroom features. The food in the restaurant was also excellent.

Air conditioning and temperature control of the room was excellent. Clean and well maintained property. Staff was perfectly pleasant. Would certainly consider another stay at this hotel. Down side is paid parking if driving and no breakfast or morning snack option without going to the attached restaurant.

During my stay, the guests in the room next to mine played excessively loud music throughout the day and into the late evening. The noise was so disruptive it could be heard down the hallway. While the evening staff made an effort to address it, during the day I was told the volume did not violate the hotel’s standard noise policy—and was advised to leave my room to find a quieter space to work. As a business traveler paying over $400 per night, I expected to be able to work comfortably and productively from my room. This response felt dismissive and inconvenient. Some members of the staff seemed unwilling to consider reasonable flexibility, defaulting strictly to policy even when the disruption was clearly beyond normal limits. I hope the hotel reconsiders how it handles daytime noise complaints, particularly for business travelers. I will likely explore other accommodations closer to the SNA airport for future trips.

Stay was pretty good overall. Nice room. Clean. Thinner walls so can hear some things from surrounding rooms. Shuttle service was not as easy as they like to make it out but still nice to have. No ironing board just a steamer and steamer was not that great

For this price point a microwave in the room is expected. Also, I had two rooms, but only one vehicle and was charge 236.16 TWICE for parking. Go to the Hyatt House.

I love how hospitable the front desk is. The housekeepers kept the room so clean and I appreciate how they still clean the room after I left the room so much later in the day for dinner. Thank you for accommodating us. Love that the hotel shuttle is available. I wish there were free breakfast for my parents who also came in from out of town. Parking is not free so be aware of that. Thank you so much. I had a pleasant stay. :)

Her Manager Ashanti was a little better but still rude and short with me and my girlfriend. I thought at first maybe they were just having a bad day but all three days we were there we received the same energy. I had stayed at this hotel in the past and didn't have these issues.

First time stay here. Very convenient to the airport if you have an early flight. Clean comfortable nice bar and nice staff. Parking is a bit too much $$

The exterior is nice in a nice area safe for walking to restaurants nearby clean area. Hotel restaurant staff was very accommodating. If you are picky about cleanliness I don’t recommend staying here. Light fixtures in our room next to our bed needed to be cleaned, windows were dirty and bathroom counter and garage can needed attention. Beds were ok.

Good amenities and location

Absolutely wonderful clean environment. Wonderful staff excellent food amazing hardwood floors in room absolutely just wonderful, pet friendly hotel. Great indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi with an outside friendly backyard. Pet friendly walkabout. Wonderful experience.

Sadly, the valet service is no longer available. There wasn't the friendly staff that I have been accustomed to when I have stayed there in the past. I also think the menu at the restaurant/ bar needs some tweaking.

Extremely convenient 5 minute walk to the office. Love having transportation to/from the airport and it being just across the street. The room was large, clean and the bed really comfy. Food at the bar was good.

The hotel is nice and clean, the staff are polite and helpful, we had a shuttle service from SNA airport, and the shuttle also took us to a car rental office.

All the staff from the front desk to the restaurant employees to the cleaning staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly.

This was a lovely hotel. Thankfully, there was a very reasonable restaurant with good food and drinks attached to the property, because the area is not good for walking.

Alexia wasn’t so nice when we first got there but Augustine and Dave at the food area were amazing! The gym was perfect and everything was brand new and I loved the size.

The food is not bad either! I really enjoyed the gym, it was not too small and not too big and it had everything I needed and everything looked brand new!

It was very nice property. Long wait for check in. Down side was it’s a pet friendly hotel and the room next to us had a dog that we had to listen to bark… they should put pets in a certain section of the hotel. No one wants to listen to a dog barking early in the am or late at night

Shower was a little dirty. Quiet and comfortable otherwise.

My family and I enjoyed the indoor pool and Jacuzzi! Everything was clean and the staff was welcoming. The rooms are very quiet. That is a huge preference for me when I choose a hotel, peace and quiet when I sleep. It was a very pleasant stay at a very decent price! I Would definitely choose this hotel again for future trips.

We had the most helpful desk clerk (Daniel). He gave us a ton of tips, helped us with the WIFI, he recommended parking for our trip. And he was so pleasant to work with

Perfectly situated for all OC has to offer - airport, Disney, beaches, shopping and more. Great food spots as well all close.

Cleanliness is a basic expectation, and the conditions I encountered were simply unacceptable.This was my first time staying at a Sonesta property, and unfortunately, my experience was far below expectations.

Very clean and convenient

It was nice and clean. The staff were great. The only thing is the bathroom. The TP is placed in a hard to get area. The shower on and off valve is super hard and the faucet power is super strong and wets the whole counter.

Beds very comfy, room is clean and fairly new but bathroom is ok

It was a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed. There was an issue getting the TV remote to work properly, but someone came up quickly and helped me understand exactly what I needed to do.
