Reviews
The hotel is highly praised for its proximity to the airport, making it an ideal choice for early flights and business trips. The cleanliness, comfort, and quality of the rooms are also frequently mentioned positives. However, there are consistent complaints about the quality of service at reception, including long wait times and poorly trained staff. Some guests also express dissatisfaction with the price of parking and breakfast, as well as issues with room cleaning and temperature control.
- Extremely convenient location for the airport
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Poor service at reception
- High prices for parking and breakfast

We enjoyed our stay at the Motel 6. The night staff provided two extra pillows for us, the coffee tasted good, the shower water was hot, and the room cleanliness was excellent. Except for the absence of Kleenex, our experience was relaxing enough for us to book Motel 6 again in the future. Thank you all for investing in your company’s customer service by taking into account our feedback.

Quiet the shower was great!! The floors were filthy. My white socks were black from the dirty floor

Good location. Staff was great. Room was adequate. Good value for the price but don't expect luxury accommodations.

Clean enough, quiet enough. Near food. Good value. Plenty of parking, and near I-40. TV kept freezing... bad connection?

Disappointing
- 3/5
There are definitely shady people who stay there. I had no choice because hotels were taken because it was graduation weekend at TN. Needless to say, the owner didn’t offer anything at checkout despite my bringing him the filthy towel. He asked why I didn’t tell him so he could have changed my room. I guess he forgot they told me they were sold out that night. So I couldn’t get a different room anyhow. I didn't want the shady cleaners (two shady as heck guys) coming into my room when I was there and when I was gone to clean the floors. I just had to make sure I never touched the floors.

Everything! I liked everything.

Filthy, disgusting place. This is a slum motel with mold, broken faucets, torn up walls and dog chewed siding. Cigarette burns on the bedspreads, I have a bunch of pictures to back this up.

Superb
- 2/5
The property is just off the interstate. The hot water and shower was really good. The price was cheap. But it did not feel safe, lots of cigarette butts and debris around the facility, as well as some men just standing around the stairwell. The blankets had visible soil on them. The sheets had black hair all over it. The white sheets and towels were not white, they looked extremely old and worn. The 2 pillows combined did not make one standard pillow.
- 5/5
Parking was good. The motel was quiet and we slept well. I appreciated the accessibility features like bathroom grab bars.

Plumbing didn't work properly, The blanket had cigarette burns in it. The water pressure was weak, but it was a roof and a somewhat clean place to stay

It was located close to downtown Knoxville, and was the only place available for two nights. Drug users standing around the parking lot or outside their room smoking at midnight when I arrived from the airport. The overwhelming smell of marijuana and smoke surrounding this dump. The sickening stench of smoke in our room. The industrial florescent lighting on the walls of the room without a lamp or light bulb anywhere. The mold in the shower. The piles of dirt in the corners. The rock hard flat bed.

Broken down vehicles in the parking lot. A pill was laying on the duvet when we first entered the room after check in. The clerk who checked us in put us in a non smoking room, when we reserved a smoking room, then attempted to admonish us for smoking in the room. Overall, it was a terrible experience and will prevent us from staying with Motel 6 again.
- 2/5
The hotel smelled dirty. So dirty in fact that all of the items I had in my room - suitcase, back back, and clothes reeked of it after my stay
- 4/5
Nice clean comfortable bed. Good location and competent staff. It's older and the details need refurbishing, but it was good enough.

BUGS IN THE ROOM
- 2/5
On the plus side, this property was convenient for my needs. After that, not a lot of positives. Possibly the most uncomfortable bed I've ever attempted to sleep on. Never got comfortable. Very thin pillows, towels you could see through, and no local channels available on the television. I'll pay a little more for something much better next time.
- 3/5
Also make sure to bring drain unclogger to poor down the drain of the shower. You do not want to get to your room and the drain is clogged right when you're about to take a shower. It's the most annoying thing ever. If you have no choice but to stay here for a day or a few days, just remember that the staff will not always immediately respond to requests when it comes to problems with your room. It's best to be prepared and to fix these problems yourself.
- 5/5
Everything was great.

A cockroach was seen in the room and there was no hot water in the sink the floor was dirty and only one towel for two adults we got a no smoking room the blankets had burnt holes in them and the room smelled terrible and the toilet would not hardly flush and only one small shower gel was present.i was very disappointed in this motel 3 years ago we stayed in this motel very often and was very pleased I don't know what happened to it but it went down hill quickly and on top of that they kept our deposit because of a few coffee stains anyway I could have bought them some sheets for the bed a lot cheaper

When we got to the non smoking room it smelled of nothing but cigarette smoke. Checked the sheets and bed linens there was blood on those…told the front desk, they moved us. The new room they put us in had blood on the shower curtain and the room was just icky. Definitely will spend the extra $30 and stay somewhere else.

- 3/5
The room wasn’t clean, the sheets were stained up and the mattress cover look like it had been peed on and left. The AC didn’t work at all and was falling apart. They definitely need to pay more attention to the cleanliness of the room.

My room was filthy. Roaches everywhere, burnt sheets, dirty microwave, everything was disgusting. Only stayed for an hour, asked for a refund and they said I had to call Expedia to request it. They later told Expedia I never mentioned anything to them. Filed a complaint.
- 1/5
Cockroach’s in the room
- 1/5
First, what part of a NON-Smoking room reservation did they not understand? Room was heavily smoked in, had to have the door wide open for hours just to stand to be in there! Was the worst place I have stayed in over 50 years of traveling in Mexico, the US of A and Canada! Drawers had the fronts busted off and unusable, filthy, roaches, etc. Stay far.......far.... away!!!!
- 2/5
The hotel needs update ams have at least a.desk chair to sit on. Plus expidia os no help

- 3/5
The walls were patchy-needed painting. The bathroom needed a few repairs. I did not use the shower/bath. Staff were pleasant.
- 2/5
Loud noises out side the room.

Cleaners were great ,it was management that was horrible.

room was dusty, floors not clean , bedding had cigarette burns, bathroom no covers on lights and vent , toilet cover did not even fit toilet and the bed frame was cheapest thing ever seen ! never again update your pics on internet as they are false !!

- 1/5
Stay there for 2 weeks with my family and they allow pets with no pet deposit but when we got into the room there was no microwave plate they wouldn't give us more bed linens when we gave them theirs to get clean ones due to us thing for two weeks The sink underneath was popped off the wall and broke but usable but my husband put a trash can under and tried to put it back onto the wall so we could have something to use bathroom had mold in the bathtub and on the ceiling not only that is the door was warped where somebody had tried to kick it in and there was moisture all over the window and the door when we woke up every morning then people from the hotel was letting people sleep outside people's doors on the ground not only that the cops were there multiple and I mean multiple times over drug situations going on there and prostitution situations going on there I do not recommend staying here if you have a family then they called me at 9:00 p.m. accusing me of the microwave plate and the room being dirty but I swept and mopped and the room wasn't dirty the bed linen needed to be changed and the towels needed to be cleaned that was in the bathroom All you could smell was the mold
- 2/5
The staff was super friendly and sweet. Literally the only good thing about this property. Seemed there are quite a few long term people here. The area around the property is dirty and trashy and there were multiple vehicles broken and trailers everywhere some with damage you can tell someone was trying to steal stuff. The parking lot in the back does not have enough room to accommodate all the guests in the back side which we didn’t want to leave our car were we couldn’t see. Which was frustrating. The room itself: the floors were extremely sticky gross, I wore my shoes the whole time. The bed sheets either weren’t changed or just so badly stained they need replaced. The shower was dirty upon arrival and the bathroom counter looked as it had not been cleaned either not sure if it was blood on the counter or makeup. Either way this was my first time staying at a motel 6 that fit most people’s perception of them. Definitely the worst I’ve stayed at and would not recommend. Even for the price. I’d pay more for a clean room alone.
- 2/5
Pet friendly but had a bunch of noises outside and had a bunch of hoodlums outside felt unsafe
- 2/5
Rooms are dingy and not sufficiently clean. Some smell like smoke despite being non-smoking. This place is just ghetto overall
- 4/5
For the price it was quite a decent stay. Staff was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive.
- 3/5
Rooms are nicer than the outside looks, we didn’t have very good water pressure for showers. But overall clean rooms
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms
- 1/5
Room was nasty, The beds look like sheets hadnt had sheets changed. I was there to work the football game. If i had my family there i would have look somewhere else to stay.

The floors were not swept or mopped. There were roaches. The smoke alarm was missing. The paint was peeling it multiple places. We booked a No Smoking room and received a smokers room.
- 1/5
Didn’t get the room I reserved then got yelled at by the guy checking us in because I was upset they tried to give a room with a king sized bed for four people.

- 1/5
There were roaches in the room. The furniture was falling apart. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and peaceful sorrounding
- 2/5
I think they cater mainly to construction workers. It was rough. In every way.
- 4/5
It's convenient and it worked out
- 1/5
Do not stay here! Our 2nd night here someone tried to come in the room on us! We packed and dropped off the key card. My husband was irate. Come to find out, they had rented our room to someone. Because “housekeeping said we were gone”! Yes we were enjoying a dinner show in Sevierville. It was rented for 2 nights!!!!
- 1/5
There was waste on the toilet when we arrived.
- 1/5
The filthiest hotel I have ever stayed in
- 4/5
It was convenient and comfortable
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 1/5
I found pee on the counter
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 5/5
Amazing room was clean staff was very friendly
- 3/5
Although the room was very clean, convenient to both downtown Knoxville and pigeon forge and well priced the beds were very uncomfortable and there was a sheet of metal under them that would clang and bang with the slightest movement. Being a light sleeper it woke me up every time I shifted position. Absolutely nothing such as even the tiniest bottle of shampoo or lotion was offered. There were only two towels, a hand towel and a single wash cloth in the room. And worst of all the room lighting was obnoxious! There were wall mounted long light bars over each bed and one on the opposite side of the room that could be switched on by the door. They were super bright and to me seemed better suited for a industrial kind of space. If you chanced to work on all three we're talking surface of the sun bright! Staff spoke only when spoken to, just not welcoming at all. If in the area again I'd definitely spend more for a nicer motel.
- 4/5
Not too bad for the price but you will get what you pay for. Aubreys restaurant is a good spot across the street for dinner!
- 5/5
No complaints. Will be back
- 5/5
Pets stay free. Clean rooms
- 5/5
Nice staff, 24hr front desk
- 5/5

- 3/5
Requested handicap access to room with no stairs. Had to walk up to second floor
- 1/5
Dirty beds were hard flat pillows
- 4/5
Very convenient location and good price and value
- 2/5
Not sure what happened to this property. I have stayed there in the past and it was great. Bed very uncomfortable! Rude man at front desk! I will never be back to this property!! Bugs also!
- 4/5
It was weird getting to the property there was a concrete median type thing separating the property from the gas station property I guess. The bathroom wall had a hole but it didnt keep me from taking a bath. The beds were not very comfy either. Other than that it was quiet and decent for what we paid.
- 5/5
Had a better stay here than compared to most of the hotels in Knoxville
- 3/5
The new owners are trying hard to improve the site, but it's not there yet. I think also that people who stay there don't treat it very well, which makes it much much harder on the management. The staff was friendly and when I asked for new bedding they did their best to accommodate. I am empathetic with the staff who probably have to deal with very messy visitors and it's not easy as an affordable place to stay to get the best help.
- 3/5
Booked a King, but they moved us to a 2 Queen because of pet smells. Kind of annoying because we have a dog and used to it. But whatever! bed was comfy, coffee was decent, and place was near a bunch of restaurants. It was okay. Not amazing, but it was okay
- 4/5
No breakfast, no coffee maker in room, no hairdryer. Tv was ok but without a guide, not easy to know the channels. Overall a decent place to stay
- 3/5
The room was okay, mostly clean some things needed some work like the fridgerator outside dirty or just not wiped down kinda sticky. The bathroom was in need of maintenance the shower head was leaking profusely which made low pressure for washing, I did inform them and they were to send someone to fix the issue, nope didn't get done, at least the bed was comfortable,as for the rest of the stay just about average,
- 1/5
The first room, the toilet wouldn’t flush. The second room was very dirty and smelled like urine. We left at 3 o’clock in the morning because we cannot stand it there anymore.
- 5/5
Love how pet friendly they are...no $25/pet/per night here!
- 3/5
The bed was creaky. It was clean. There was only coffee and juice for breakfast.
- 5/5
good for short or long term
- 5/5
great place to stay with your fur babies 🐾😍
- 5/5
Helpful and friendly staff
- 5/5
We appreciate a low cost option on our road trips. Especially with a pup! The room was pretty clean and basic, exactly what I expect at a Motel 6. The staff was rally friendly! I wish other customers with their pups were more responsible because they ruined the opportunity for the rest of us to travel with our dogs because they’re not responsible for their own cleanup.
- 5/5
It was a nice stay. Rooms are good for the price. Laundry available! Plenty of food places nearby. Staff was friendly. No pool, but I wasn't wanting to swim. Overall was good.
- 4/5
Ok
- 1/5
Nasty bug infested back in the woods in a bad area bed is hard and sticky
- 2/5
Bed was hard as a rock and there was a guy in the room next to us screaming on and off until the police came around 1am
- 5/5
But other than that, the staff was great. The room was good.
- 5/5
Exactly what I was looking for
- 3/5
Bed made a funny noise, getting in and out of bed sounded like beating on a barrel. Bed was not firm enough for me.
- 5/5
Considering the price, I actually expected it to be worse than it was but I hope the price doesn’t change or go up by too much cause I’m definitely recommending this place and I will visit over and over again overall I actually had a great experience there and I was happy with my room. The only problem I had was a little bit minor and it’s the fact that I ordered a room with a single king size bed and I ended up getting a room with two queens. Next time I hope to get exactly what I ordered.
- 5/5
Great place to stay if you have a pet.
- 5/5
Definitely a nice Motel 6! Probably the nicest one I’ve stayed in. Nice guy at the desk, and very convenient to downtown Knoxville. Knoxville is a great city! I highly recommend the Sunsphere tower for $10 per person and the art museum which is free downtown. Everything was working. Nice beds too.
- 2/5
Quiet
- 2/5
Wasn’t able to get the room I booked and no breakfast which it talked about
- 3/5
It was alright 👍
- 4/5
It as okay
- 4/5
Perfectly acceptable. The room was clean and comfortable and the area was quiet. No complaints at all. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
We were in Knoxville for a basketball tournament for one night & wanted a cheap place to stay. Room was clean & actually smelled really good! Would for sure stay again for the location & price!
- 4/5
It was very clean. The check-in process was smooth, and the employees were helpful. Between the rooms are not soundproof. I could hear the people next door talking and laughing.
- 2/5
Decent price but you get what you pay for, right?! The rooms smelled like stale cigarettes, the sheets had stains, the bathtub was dirty, the floor was not swept, bugs on the walls and I just felt so dirty/gross leaving the room. I didn’t even want to shower in there. Staff was nice but that’s about all this place has going for them
- 5/5
Service representative at check was very courteous and helpful.
- 4/5
Great hospitality
- 4/5
I Rooms could be cleaned a little better. And there is some mold around sinks and bathtubs.
- 3/5
The room was okay, definitely outdated. The mini fridge needed defrosting it was iced over. The heater took forever to warm up. We only stopped for the night so it worked for what we needed at the time.
- 5/5
It was quiet when you were able to walk to the store or restaurant
- 2/5
I only wish I could add a photo of that smell, but the app doesn’t have scratch’n’sniff. I will say the only positive was that it was quiet. I was traveling and tired or I would have refused to stay there.
- 5/5
I Usually stay here every weekend when visiting family . My room is always clean customer service is top notch staff is always pleasant and the rates are affordable.
- 1/5
This was a two nights day the first night I killed one cockroach the second night I killed 19 cockroaches before I checked out out of complete disgust
- 5/5
Nice affordable location. Very close to the highway. Quiet
- 2/5
The room smelled terrible. Th toilet was dirty and there was a bug on my bed.
- 1/5
Room was musty, good enough to sleep
- 2/5
We choose this motel based off of little availability in the Knoxville area. When we checked in to the room we noticed there were two stink bugs on the wall. We were in a hurry, so no big deal. Threw them outside and went on to the UT game. When we returned, that night in total we killed 17 stink bugs. The next morning when I spoke to the front desk on the matter, I was told it had been sprayed and that's all they can do. Room was bare minimum. 2 pillows and 2 blankets. Guess you get what you pay for but normally $120 gets you better than that. Would not recommend staying here!
- 4/5
Average visit, nothing special about hotel.... Clean and easy access
- 1/5
I don't recommend this particular Motel 6. Opened the door and was hit in the face by awful cigarette smoke smell. Toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall, floors were sticky,(don't recommend going without shoes), wall outlets were rusty. You get what you pay for I guess.
- 5/5
Awesome place
- 5/5
Wonderful staff
- 4/5
Dining was nearby.
- 4/5
I liked that it was attached to a gas station parking lot for ease of access and close to the interstate
- 1/5
Said they had breakfast and they didn’t.
- 3/5
Hotel had roaches and checked out a day early it was just nasty
- 1/5
Hotel had roaches and checked out a day early it was just nasty
- 5/5
The gentleman that checked us in was fantastic
- 5/5
Just needed to sleep to get to our destination. Noisy people next door at 2am.
- 3/5
Motel 6 has gotten a bad reputation because of the clientele that have rented the rooms within the last couple of decades nationwide. This Motel 6 on Brakebill RD in Knoxville, TN was surprisingly quiet. There were some issues, such as a shower head completely missing, however, staff repaired it immediately. Overall, it was not a bad stay. The staff was friendly.
- 1/5
The hotel was horribly filthy. Beds had stains and bathrooms smelled and were dirty. Better off just sleeping in your car..
- 3/5
It’s okay… nothing major. Quiet, located behind the truck stop. Country roads
- 1/5
No chairs in room, no hot water for shower only barely warm, lock above door knob not working
- 5/5
clean room quiet and very safe
- 5/5
Was very peaceful
- 1/5
No smoke detector.
- 3/5
Next to a gas station
- 5/5
This motel is close to alot of things. And very close to convenient stores. And easy access to the interstate. The owner is a man and very polite and is always there. I would definitely recommend people to stay at this location on strawberry plains pike in knoxville, TN.
- 2/5
It was good for letting me get a room after midnight. Not to bad as far as smelled so bad. It smelled like routing water if that's a thing? But if you need a place check out out of none else has availability. cleaning, but the roomhad ghetto roaches. And
- 5/5
Really nice front desk gentleman. Not bad for the price. Recommend for a couple day stay.
- 3/5
I was disappointed in my recent stay in that there was no coffee maker in the room nor lamps at the bedsides. There was also no fire alarm & the ceiling light in the bathroom did not have a cover exposing wires. There was also no phone. The bedspread had two holes in the center. I was glad I brought my own cover & pillow.
- 5/5
The staff are polite, curtious and very respectful:)
- 2/5
Cigarette burns in all of bedding, smelled like cigarettes in non smoking room, just not the best at all.
- 1/5
Requested nonsmoking room but room smelled and stunk of smoke. Floor was dirty, smoke stains on bathroom stool, AC DID NOT work all the time, kept turning off and on.
- 3/5
It was a Motel 6. But I paid more because of expecting at least a breakfast but when I went to the dining area it was only coffee. It was worth $60-70 (which was par for a M6) but I paid almost $100. I will be more judicious next time.
- 5/5
Rooms are always clean and inviting. No hassles checking in.
- 1/5
The thing I thought was unique was Joes Apartment was filming a figgin sequel right in my room! I have never seen so many cockroaches in my life. This one taught me how to repel off the ceiling. That must of been when the owner heard "a woman screaming sounding like she was getting beat all night." That's literally the worst lie ever to have a reason to keep my deposit. That room is cleanser when I left than when I got there because I felt the need to take bleach and clean the whole room, floors, toilet, sink, you name it. So, they get a negative 5 stars. This was the absolute worst hotel stay I have had and even if that was the safe zone for the zombie apocalypse, I would take my chances with the zombies.
- 3/5
We checked I about 8:00pm person at the desk acted like he was very sleepy. Didn’t tell us when to check out. I felt like a bother.
- 1/5
Do not stay here. Unbelievably bad.
- 4/5
The breakfast was getting remodeled so no that but good
- 5/5
Good normal experience, no issues. Everything as you would expect
- 3/5
When we arrived we had to drive through a service station lot to get to it. Then it took me about 10 minutes to get someone to come to the window. Upon going in the room which we had to use stairs it was dirty around the stairs. When I entered the room I noticed holes in the bedspread. Later I was walking around in the room and I discovered that the floor was dirty by the bottom of my feet so I don’t think they mop the floors. I definitely won’t be staying here again.

There were upgrades/renovations going on at the time of my stay. So large discarded items made the lot look a little messy. Their parking lot doesn’t seem large enough for the number of rooms they offer and the driveway coming in on the backroad could be lit up better as well as signage at eye level. Easy to miss at night. The renovations (new flooring, new beds) are nice and I’m sure once they are complete the place will come together nicely.

Very nice at front desk. Room was good . Price was best in area. No issues at all.

I stayed in room 209. There was a hole in the wall, spilled coffee, dead bugs, and crusty white spots on the bedding of both beds. The floor was damp. The only thing it looks like the staff does is make the bed(s) and replace towels. The room was disgusting, and I ended up leaving early because of how bad it was.
