Cambria Hotel Mount Pleasant – Charleston

My room.

Still a great option for a place to stay in Mount Pleasant, but the hotel is looking a little tired. Our shower vinyl panel had a huge crack across it, the bathroom mirror was chipped, the ironing board wouldn't stand up straight....the hotel needs a little better care. Hotel front desk staff aren't very friendly. Room is clean. Location is super handy. Parking is fine if you aren't out late....otherwise, it is tough to find a spot. Hoping next visit is a little better!

I had no hot water or water pressure in my shower which was important to me. I told the front desk and asked if I could change rooms. The answer was we’re full sorry, nothing we can do. Also it was very loud. From 2-4:30 in the morning there were people either next to me or in the hallway talking loudly which kept me awake. Bad experience.

Entirely great except prepar for loud AC unit turn on. Seems to be an old unit that is very loud but it works, pick your battles. The pool was great smaller than photos but worth a sit. Location is perfect for avoiding crowds of nonlocals.

The floor to ceiling windows were absolutely great and the size of my room was awesome. It was a dream traveling with a toddler. If yours is a clinger you can get a rollaway for them and put it in your private room.

Everything was excellent except the noise of the AC handler in our room. But it didn’t hinder our good nights sleep.

All the staff was not welcoming and didn’t want to help. They were so annoyed you were checking in. Room was very sketchy to clean and felt super gross. Honestly was very fooled by photos so please know this is not ina good area.

We had a great stay! The corner room suite was ideal for my family. It was huge and very clean! Couple things that would make this hotel even better is a free breakfast and a bigger pool! Overall, I would stay here again for the location and in this same room style!

We had a perfect stay here. The hotel was spotless; the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our needs. And the ice cream spot around the corner was fantastic. Will definitely stay here again next trip.

This was my third time staying at this hotel. The staff is always super friendly. Rooms are always clean. Location is top-notch… 12 minutes from downtown Charleston and 12 minutes from Isle of Palms.

The location, ALL Staff including the Travel bartender were honestly so overwhelmingly customer service oriented. Our check-check in process was seamless, our room was spotless. One evening we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar and met the bartender. He explained he was a ‘travel’ bartender, not a full time bartender at the hotel. I would strongly suggest hiring him. An ultimate professional-Saturday evening. We will definitely return to the hotel without hesitation. Thank you for providing fantastic service-stay! N/A

I’ve stayed here many times. It’s always my first choice when I’m in the lowcountry for work! Great location, clean room, and I love the amount of storage so I can unpack and feel at home.

Television in the room next door was loud late in the evening and early morning. Kept us awake at night and woke us very early in the morning. Staff was arguing with a guest in the hallway late at night for quite some time. Asked them to stop and no response. Called front desk and no one answered. Mattress on bed so soft you sunk into it. Bad for back. Shower floor so slippery we almost fell. We had to use a towel on the shower floor to prevent falling.

The staff was amazing, check-in was amazing and smooth and quick. Our room was clean. I loved the Bluetooth mirror, and the bathroom design. We had a great stay with no complications!

Hotel was clean, staff friendly No breakfast provided even though when I booked thru your website it stated that they had breakfast and that was one of the deciding factors for my booking this hotel. Beds were too soft, made our backs hurt. The water pressure was too low, could hardly get the soap off or shampoo out of your hair.

The bed was absolutely the most comfortable mattress I have slept on in years, at any hotel. The only complaint was the couch in our suite. It is past due for reupholstering. Very worn and drab looking, to the point that we put a blanket over it to sit in. And if it matters to you, the televisions don’t have streaming capabilities.

Mount pleasant is truly a pleasant hotel to stay in. I went with my family of four with 2 rooms booked in different floors. I must say, the interior design of the rooms were one of the best I’ve seen at this price point. I especially loved the body mirror with tiny shelves attached; it makes getting ready and grabbing things on the go very convenient. It is also super spacious, especially with two queens size beds in a single space. Although breakfast isn’t included in the morning, they do serve complimentary coffee and tea daily. And the free bottle of wine was a plus for the stay!

I am always especially glad to return here for work stays. This part goes for all Cambrias: I appreciate the unusual but very functional layout of the king rooms, and the double rooms are also nice. The rooms have everything I need including mini fridge, tv, and great bathroom. I really like the lighting, especially the lights next to the beds and the bathrooms. At this specific Cambria: I feel very safe and secure as a solo female traveler, and it's generally quiet even if the hotel is full. Parking is free and plentiful. The staff are amazing and friendly without being "too much". Plus free wifi and parking. Fantastic! The only downside this trip was that there were some obnoxious entitled guests complaining endlessly about something that was NOT a real problem to the super patient manager. It made me sad.

This is the first truly handicapped accessible room we were able to find plenty of room to use the wheelchair and the bathroom was really easy for my wife to use. Highly recommend this hotel. Really great staff and the place is very clean

Room layout was unique and nice. The bed was quite comfortable. Was not a fan of the unenclosed shower layout as it was a glass wall covering one half with the other half being exposed, so water was not fully contained. The elevator jumped aggressively at one point and did not take us to the desired floor which was a bit scary. Management seemed to resolve it when we brought it up. Overall, it was a decent experience.

This stay was exactly as expected for the price. Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, and a bonus bottle of wine for a hospitality gift was a nice touch.

Very expensive hotel with bare-bones amenities. Free coffee, but that’s about it. Some Equipment in the gym not functional. Rooms were quite small for the price.

Unfortunately, our stay there was terrible. We had kids running up and down the hall all night long therefore couldn’t sleep. They must’ve had a crew full of baseball players young adults, but it was absolutely the worst sostay ever

we like the hotel and have stayed there in the past. we had one issue this time, the shower was luke warm at best. we took a very fast shower the first night. they did have it fixed for the 2nd night. we would still stay there again.

We also loved the complimentary coffee bar in the mornings and the ample seating throughout the lobby area. Most importantly, the staff was so friendly and welcoming during our entire stay. Very happy with our experience and will absolutely stay here again!

Very nice stay at the Cambria. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Convenient to downtown Charleston, Daniel’s Island, Sullivans and IOP beaches. Clean rooms and workout facilities. Would stay at Cambria again for sure!

Our room was exceptionally clean and the bathroom was the cleanest of any I’ve ever seen in a hotel of this age, only 9 years old. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was that the restaurant closed down on the day before we checked out so we couldn’t order a dinner. We did have a meal there earlier in the week and the food was delicious.

my go to place in Mount Pleasant

This is the third time we have stayed here to start an annual vacation in the Charleston area. The hotel was great on our first stay and still is. Our room had a slick design and was very comfortable. The hotel’s location is convenient for eating and shopping in Mount Pleasant, but also allows easy access to Charleston by car. It is also fairly priced.

Great location 15 mins from Isle of Palms beach. Stores are close if you need to run and get something. A bonus that Charleston is a 25 mins away. Overall enjoyed my stay.

It seemed like we were in a hotel all by ourselves. The staff seemed unavailable except at the front desk. Anything we had to do forced us to leave the hotel because there were no facilities available for us while at the hotel. If we were to return to Charleston, we would not use this hotel again. The lack of staff and your lack of amenities offered to the guests, made our stay less than enjoyable

Great area to stay in. Mount Pleasant is a 10 min to Daniels Island (tennis tournament), 15 to ocean and 10 min to Charleston. It was a 10 min drive to Shem Creek, love the restaurants in that area. Hotel was very clean, plenty of parking and nice staff. Room has a microwave and mini fridge. There wasn’t breakfast at this hotel but options in the area

Super clean room, good location, but the front desk staff made us feel incredibly unwelcome. We’ve stayed at this particular location at least half a dozen times and this is the first time that this has happened to us here.

We received a text of we needed anything to let them know. We requested new towels but had to text again to get them. It was late in the day when they came.

Travel ball team with a ton of children running in room above us ALL weekend very early in morning. Although Cambria blasted a text message to please stop, it continue all weekend until we checked out. My son was getting married and my daughter was in the wedding....our rest was important.

The room was very clean and spacious. Very new. Close to a lot of restaurants and stores. The hotel was quiet and great for our stay. We were there for 6 days. It's right off the main road into Downtown Charleston which made the commute in very easy. It was great to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown while still close enough to enjoy all the fun. We ate at some great local testaurants all within about 10 minutes from there. The staff at the hotel were helpful and kind. The kind woman who checked us in gave us a list of restaurants in the area as well as her personal notes on her favorites. I loved our stay here and would come back again.

Conveniently located outside the city center but an easy drive to the amply parking next to the visitors center in the CBD.

Excellent location, clean room, bed comfortable. Other furniture in room was very uncomfortable and room layout was awkward….tv on wall perpendicular to bed made it uncomfortable to watch. Staff at check in was cordial but not welcoming…..made no eye contact at all and did not seem to be very happy be there herself.

The hotel and rooms were spotless. My only complaints are the rock hard mattress and the shower with a half glass “wall”. It made for hot water showers with cold air blowing in. Other than that, it was great!

My wife and I really had a nice stay at Cambria. The room was clean, cozy and comfortable, with very comfortable bed and pillows. All the staff were awesome, they were all so friendly, hospitable and helpful. Thank all of you!! A couple of minor things missing from the room. A dresser, or shelves to put clothing in, a nightlight in the in the bathroom to help navigate to it in the middle of the night, and maybe another place for suitcases. Overall, we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Good Morning ! I traveled for work 33 years, i must say this was the nicest hotel i have ever stayed in. The room was spacious, first class finishings, clean and the bed was wonderful. We will not be staying again because of marijuana smells. The front desk did offer to spray our room and advised a manager. We had not tried this hotel before and will not go to another one. Not the staffs fault but we have been all over the country and never had this before in other hotels. It was coming from inside the hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Super comfy bed. Room was extremely clean and the hotel was nice and quiet. Great location also as there is a great shopping area right across the street from it.

Amazing. Overall the hotel is great, clean and very nice. The only problem was my room was to be a 2 queen bed room. The beds are NOT queen they are standard full size. Not happy at all with this, when I book a queen bed room that is would a want.

There is plenty of shopping nearby if needed… even Walmart directly across the street. The staff were all pleasant when we had interactions. The WiFi was NOT working the entire stay which did cause us some problems but didn’t ruin the stay. I would stay here again.

The place offers a great value - modern fresh design, updated feel of a business hotel. Room was clean, well appointed, updated modern design, 2 comfortable queen beds, good water pressure, good coffee machine. Check-in was fast, front desk was professional. Hotel's suburban location was excellent being close to restaurants, and shopping malls with plenty of breakfast options nearby. Overall hotel is great value for the money, since it's 5mi from Charleston but has free parking (vs 20-25$ in Charleston) and most importantly NO ridiculously high hotel taxes you have with hotels in historic Charleston (which can add 25% to the overall price). Only meaningful downside for this property is that the windows don't open at all, and the room air feels stale despite the HVAC system - no way to air out the room. Otherwise, it is all good.

It was very clean, and great that it had a boutique bar and food menu. I never used the laundry facilities but was glad that it was available. Being on 17 was a great convenience when traveling all over Charleston.

Room was clean and spacious. TV was not a smart TV so that limited our football watching on Saturday. Bed was very comfortable.

We were super tired from a long road trip to Charleston, and we were pretty annoyed that it took 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. However, the young girl was pretty nice. We had an issue with our room since we found three spiders throughout the day, and we tried to look around the room to see if we’d have to ask for a new room, and we found silverfish on the walls. When we went to the front desk to request a different room, the lady looked pretty confused as if I was being dramatic. Also, the showers are pretty confusing. Only half of the shower is covered and the water has to splash. Not to mention that the water kept hitting the metal bar in the front so I had to take a pretty noisy shower. I would say that the rooms are quite spacious and convenient to have a fridge and microwave.

Nice room and layout

We also had a great experience dining at the hotel restaurant. The food was good, and the service was exceptional thanks to Haley. Our overall experience was excellent, comfortable bed, quite, safe environment, and convienent location.

Overall a clean nice newer hotel. My main complaint is that the windows do not open in the rooms. It felt like recycled air and after 3 days I had a sore throat from air conditioning going overnight all night. Service was friendly. Easy parking.

Mahesh Maxide to go to Mount Pleasant for his birthday and we decide to stay at the Cambria. This is one of the nicest and cleanest hotels that we have ever stated and we have stayed in a lot. We would definitely visit again.!

Very clean, staff was amazing, and this will be our hotel of choice every year! There is only one thing we disliked. There was a very strong, cologne type air freshener that hits you in the face when you open the door to the room. After being in there awhile, it fades. But it’s there every time you enter which is why we thought air freshener but didn’t see a physical air freshener.

I booked the hotel so I could eat at the restaurant but it was closed on a Saturday.

The room was very clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. One staff member, Felicia, checked us in. She had a great sense of humor, very knowledgeable and gave us a list of nearby resturants. Another young man that worked the night shift was very friendly and engaging. Unfortunately i did not get his name. Our 3 day visit was very enjoyable

Room was clean but our room never got cleaned during our stay and we only received new towels one time. The hotel was very loud and the people above us woke us up every night.

I had a suite which was spacious. Had frig and coffee maker but no napkins or plates for food. No breakfast at the hotel. Bed was comfortable. Staff is wonderful. But the sound proofing needs work. I could hear conversations word for word in the room next to me through adjoining door which was closed. I was called at 10 pm and asked if I had kids because people below me could not sleep. I had literally walked from my bed to the bathroom and was watching ice skating quietly. The men staying next door yell talked nonstop and I had to hide in my bedroom as I heard them over the tv.

I wish bar and restaurant had been open. Staff are excellent…especially Mark!

The bathroom has a sliding door w frosted glass so everytime someone uses the bathroom the light in there effects the whole room.

The room was very clean and smelled good. Liked the floor covering. Parking right by the hotel was very convenient. The registration staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, the bar was not open because the bartender had died.

The only real downside that we had with this property was the lack of ANY sort of on-site breakfast. Though we knew this before booking, we would highly recommend at least providing a Continental breakfast option in the future for the comfort of your guests. It would've been nice this time, especially since the bar & restaurant was closed (and that was one of the on-site amenities for why we opted to book at this location). For that, our overall rating really hovers closer to a 4. All in all though, we hope to return again sometime.

I’ve stayed here a few times and it’s a very fairly priced option in the Charleston area. Room was clean, gym was had everything you needed. Wish they would clean/restock the room daily though.

The first stay was great. The second one was not so great. We got a room with a walk-in shower, but there was no sliding door to keep the water from splashing out of the shower stall. The room phone didn’t work. Had to call front desk using my cell phone to be informed that no extended check out time was permitted because they’re fully booked for the day/weekend.

We enjoyed our one night stay so much that we returned after another day of touring the Charleston area. Mel checked us in. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will stay here for our future visits.

This hotel is 30mins away from city. My husband and I booked the day of after having to cancel our reservation at an air b and b last minute (long story). The staff received us warmly, and they gave us a complimentary wine bottle! The room was very clean and roomy! The shower and bathroom were excellent. Breakfast is not included.
