Clean room and helpful staff,

It wasn’t as clean as I expected for the price I paid. There’s so much crumbs on the floor and elevators. Staff were somewhat good but not the best.

They tried to charge my card for breakfasts we never had and there were room charges for food items we never purchased. We could have stayed at a few other hotels in the area at a better cost and free breakfast!

We chose this hotel because it had a restaurant on site. However, the restaurant was closed during our stay. Also, we were excited to try the complementary breakfast of which this was non-existent. If you wanted breakfast it was a $15 charge. I am not a fan of false advertising, therfore, wanted to voice my disappointment.

The hotel was close to the beach and only a few minutes from some good restaurants. But the hotel was a little expensive for the quality of rooms we got.

Staff at breakfast did not speak English. Breakfast cost $15 per person. So i had to pay $30 for grandsons to eat a bowl of cereal. Breakfast was not served. You had to get it. It was cold. Not a big selection. Most crucial thing is always have staff that speaks English. The maid also spoke no English.

Smells really good when you walk in. Clean hotel. Beds are too high. Water in shower cold Sunday morning. Location is good. Check in was smooth.

Room was okay. We ended up in a handicap room which was okay except for the closet. Coat rack was about four feet off the ground. Hotel staff said we got that room because we booked through a third party. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We were very happy with our stay here. The shower is the ONLY thing I would say needs updating shower pressure was not great either but this didn’t ruin our stay. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff is very friendly. Overall we had a very good experience and would stay again.

We had an outstanding stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Charleston Historic District. The team was absolutely amazing — warm, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. The rooms were impeccable: spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail reflected care and professionalism. We truly felt valued as guests and would gladly stay again.

The staff is very courteous here, we extended our stay by 1 night and they kept us in the same room. Offered housekeeping but we really didnt need it so they gave us coffee and advised if we changed our minds to let them know and someone could come up with towels. Facility is extremely clean as well as the rooms. Would stay again. Next to a shopping area and gas stations.

Im sure it was pleasant, i didnt stay. They wouldnt let me cancel 2 weeks leading up. They did offer a downloadable key entry through app. They may have gone all automated.

Doubletree has never disappointed me. Great decor throughout the common areas and room. Staff is helpful and has a luxurious feel without paying rich folks' prices. Lobby has food and beverage choices after hours, a bar and lounge area, small fitness center for a simple workout, pool and very comfortable, clean and upscale room.

Had to book an unexpected overnight trip to be close by for doctors appointments and testing. Hotel was clean, felt safe. Close to doctors office. Staff nice. Water pressure great. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Would recommend hotel.

2. Whoever called me at 11:00 a.m. to tell me it was check out time was rude and raised his voice at me. I told him Jacob had given me an 11:30 a.m. late check out time. 3. There was nothing to eat. If the restaurant was closed, I had to go out. The shop at the desk was quite limited. 4. I was given a handicap room, which is fine, but had obviously not been used, cleaned or even looked at. The door to the bathroom had some sort of mold growing on it and there were piles of dust and dirt surrounding and under the furniture (which had a lot of nicks and scratches). This particular hotel needs an overhaul on it's rooms! I will never stay at another DoubleTree by Hilton.

Enjoyed our stay very much. We were in town for a ball tournament. The hotel was amazing, very clean and the most comfortable beds. The hotel is very close to shipyard park, so that was a plus as well. This is our new go to for our stays.

It would have been better to let us know at booking that the hotel had no internet. My husband is always working on his computer and this proved to be an issue he would have liked to avoid. It still has not come in and it is almost 10:30pm

Yes and yes. However, a scheduled water outage lasted far longer than posted. It caused a big inconvenience and no compensation was offered. Showers and toilets did not work for at least 12 hours on one day and another three hours the following day.

Overall, this is a fine property. It’s in need of some updating. I’m used to a little bit larger breakfast buffet from a Doubletree so that was a little disappointing. The staff was nice.

This place is in a remote location and appears to be extremely understaffed. They won't serve or sell alcohol on Sundays. The cooked food at the breakfast buffet was consistently cold. I expected more from a Hilton franchisee.

The service at Check In was great. However, we encounted two employees at Check Out that ruined this review. The employees refused to acknowledge us Hilton Honors members since we booked thru Expedia. We have never had that happen. These employees went on to suggest that we should use the Hilton Website to get better service next time. These employees told us that they would match the rates if we had called the hotel. Our stay was from our 35th Wedding Anniversary. It was a simple weekend getaway from August 1st thru August 3rd. At check out, one employee (Ori) refused to give us a printed receipt because we booked thru Expedia. I personally asked three (3) times to confirm whether she could or would not. We left the property without a receipt from the hotel even if to show a zero balance. I do plan to escalate this experience through the proper channels.

We definitely enjoyed our stay. 10 minutes from the beach 10 minutes from downtown Charleston. Shopping and dining all around. Very clean and organized. Relaxing and inviting. Definitely worth it.

CONS: The parking lot is shared with another hotel. The pool was outdoors and visible from the front parking lot, and upon check-in, the staff member informed me that I had one King sized bed, when in fact I had booked a room with two beds.

The room was fine. The pool was closed the day we arrived and the next day the pool was reopened but the sign was left out that said pool closed. We missed two days we could have gone in the pool. The 15$ breakfast buffet is what many hotels offer for free.

Big issue was, we awoke to tons of ants! They were all over our $10 cake slices we had gotten in a Charleston the night before, so I lost $20 worth of treats! I told the clerk at checkout and showed her the pictures and asked for a $20 credit however the manager was conveniently unavailable, but was told I would be contacted shortly which of course never happened. I would not stay here again, as I expected more from a hotel with "Hilton" in the name!

Not touristy area, it's actually where people live, close to Shem Creek and Sullivan's Island and Isles of Palms, close to Patriotic Point Naval and Maritime Museum.

Pretty selfish with the free cookies, I’m not sure what the problem is with that. I’ve also noticed some check-ins received complimentary water and snacks, not sure what the code word was for this service. The breakfast is also overpriced with limited options.

Overall we had a great stay here, staff was friendly and helpful, it was a convenient area for both Mt. Pleasant and Downtown Charleston. Room 409 needs the magnet on the shower door replaced but that's the only issue we had in our room and we didn't feel the need to do anything about it because it wasn't a big deal. We had the breakfast a couple times, which was fine. And our dinner there one night was also good. Would stay again!
