The location was perfect for our stay. The hotel was very nice and clean, very fancy looking. The beds very comfy and soft sheets. The restaurant breakfast was delicious. The gym was great. Easy parking right next door and a lot cheaper than most places. The rooftop courtyard was really cool, it was a perfect night to check it out. Our room opened up to the rooftop courtyard, so I didn't really feel comfortable having the curtains open. Not a huge deal though, and the courtyard itself was pretty cool. For the life of me, I couldn't get the fancy coffee maker to work, even after reading directions and watching how to videos. I'm still thinking about that defeat and what the coffee would have tasted like.

My partner and I stayed here during a conference and we had a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious and we had amazing views from our upper level bedroom. We also learned that we were insulated from surrounding noise when we talked to colleagues who’d stayed at other hotels in the area. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of space to have coffee in the room. The location is amazing, a block from Pioneer Square. The gym is small but had everything I needed for cardio and strength and it was nice to have an indoor pool. The one con was that the shower had low water pressure but this wasn’t a big deal for a few days. The staff also went above and beyond with the manager coming personally to help me with the coffee machine!

Area was nice, hotel overall was ok. The refrigerator didn’t work, the “safe” in the room didn’t work, the hair conditioner didn’t pump. Water in room (1 cheap bottle water) was $4. Some mornings no coffee. Was ehhh ok.

Staff was great and super friendly. My complaints are that the room was not super clean. The bathroom sink was filthy, and you could see water stains on the shower from previous use. A lot of the walls had noticeable paint chips and the bed frames were extremely worn out and pealing. Also, although the elevator says you cannot use it without a keycard 99% of the time you could go in and press a button without scanning the card and it would work. From a safety standpoint I wasn’t a fan of that. As far as location this hotel is very central to downtown and it was $35 a day to park in the garage which was cheaper and safer that areas near by I felt.

Service is what makes highly rated hotel stand out. This was sorely lacking. A line up to the door at check in with 1 person working and that one person not very friendly made for a horrible check in. No answer any time we called front desk or housekeeping - room was lacking extra blankets and drinking glasses. We had much better luck with the AI texting as at least they sent someone to check why our heat was not working. We sent a text at checkout to have a luggage cart brought to our room only to be told sorry, we are busy come get it yourself! 4.5 star… really. The room was clean but rough shape. The headboard was a soft fake leather and it had huge unsightly gouges and scratches all over it. There was a coat peg board on the wall and some of the pegs were broken off. And our heat didn’t work! They have it set it so you cannot go higher than 73. It was snowing and cold! Maintenance had to come and bypass the setting so we could turn it up. The location was about the only good thing I can say about this hotel. We felt cold, ignored, and definitely not pampered as we usually are at 4.5 star hotels. Do better Hilton or lower your rating.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at this hotel. To begin with the room advertised on Expedia said their was a tub but it room had no n tub. The staff at the Hilton said it was incorrectly advertised because only their queen rooms had tubs and ours was a queen. Secondly ,Our room was directly across from the elevator making it impossible to sleep with all of the noise of dogs, children and rowdy guests. We were offered another room from the noise but again there was no tub and it was almost midnight and we were already settled in. My conversations with the online staff did not handle my complaints well. We will not stay here again

We did not get the rooms requested. Also there was a $75 per night per room upfront charge that had to be paid as soon as we got there. Not just a hold, they charged my card fully. So for the week for 2 rooms was $900 upfront after already paying for the rooms. This charge isn’t listed anywhere, was very unexpected considering the amount of conversations I’d had with the hotel prior to arrival, still hasn’t been refunded.

The only downside is there was some miscommunication with the hotel staff and the amenities offered. We were told the bar and lounge was open until 1am. It was about 11:30 when my friend and I sat at the bar downstairs, all we wanted was a hot chocolate lol. We sat for about 10 minutes before the bartender appeared and then proceeded to completely ignore us. He didn’t make eye contact or speak to us whatsoever, just cleaned up and walked out the back to never return. We sat for probably another 15 minutes before the lady at the front desk finally mentioned they were closed. Let me also say there were other guests that had just been waited on and handed drinks. Huge bummer!!

However, it could use some updates. In a top-floor king room, there was a weathered couch and headboard, missing chunks of material or paint. The ceiling looked like it had messy, silly putty in a bare hole. Hooks to hang clothes contained old, dried glue. Lastly, there is no smart TV, just an outdated cable one; this is one of the updates that is most needed. I will return because I love the space, but these are the reasons I didn't give the full five stars.

The beds were comfy and the TV, shower, and lobby were nice, but for the price it was an average value at best. As for the patio that tempted me to book, it was an attractive space but the seating was pretty worn out and uncomfortable. I am guessing this hotel was great at the time it opened, but it needs TLC, or to lower its rates to match its current state. I regret that I chose this relative "splurge" as a special treat when I could have stayed at the Heathman or The Nines for a similar price, or the more comparable Bidwell or lovely Dossier for significantly less. This mini-vacation was a consolation prize for the milestone Vegas b-day trip that BFF and I had to cancel because she recently suffered a house fire, and it was not the luxury experience I had hoped for. *I have also stayed at The Benson, Woodlark, Deluxe, Vintage, Royal Sonesta, Zags (similar upkeep issues but way cheaper), Hi-Lo, and Vance. I am probably the LEAST likely to return to Duniway unless they were running a big promotion. Not a bad hotel, just a poor value compared to competitors. (Nice staff!)

The bellman Shaun was outstanding. Very personable, happy to help me with 3 kids. Made each one of feel welcome and had lots of knowledge about things to do. The dine-in option is terrible, it isn’t clear what the stipulations are. It’s basically uber, except with uber I can at least contact the person bringing the food. The menu to choose from lacks an option to ask for things like napkins or extra silverware. There is no direct contact to the dining option and you have to go through hotel staff, responses took between 15-20 min. Our pizza from the dine in option wasn’t cut and we asked to have cutlery brought up and were told to go to the hotel restaurant (which we didn’t order from). I was one adult with three young children and couldn’t exactly bring everyone downstairs for things like a knife or ranch (which the order included but didn’t deliver). We ended up ripping it with our hands. I had also mentioned we were there for a birthday stay, asked where I could find a good desert and again was told to basically go downstairs and ask the restaurant myself. There is basically zero room service for anything outside towels or robes. Before Shaun was able to come meet us, I was told to come downstairs and “maybe grab a luggage cart” because the front desk wasn’t sure there was one. i requested valet bring my car I noted a specific time and they brought it almost 20 min early, it felt very rushed. Don’t go expecting typical hotel experience for this type of establishment.

Hotel overall is a good place to stay. I would have liked a better atmosphere at the bar and maybe a little more friendly. Bartenders were novice mixologists.

I also loved the on-site dining; the food was fantastic and featured some great local flavors. Plus, the hotel is in a prime spot, making it easy to explore all the fun things Portland has to offer. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to come back!

Front desk was not friendly and kind of rude, and in the shower there’s no floor mat, and I have to use the hand towel on the floor, it didn’t really meet what I expected. Will not come back again.

Rooms were meh. Bathroom shower had some mold in the grout. The restaurant was amazing for dinner…didn’t get to swim in the pool. Need better blankets on the bed… they were thin. I hate that. I don’t think I’ll go back to stay at the hotel but the restaurant was worth going back to for dinner again.

I really enjoyed the Duniway. It's a nice hotel with large rooms, comfortable beds and modern amenities. Unfortunately, there was a mix up and the hotel did not provide housekeeping at all during my 3-night stay. For some crazy reason, I thought hanging the YES side of the card on my door meant I wanted housekeeping, but after returning to a dirty room again on my last night, the staff informed me that Hilton has a policy of not entering a room when a card is hung on the doorknob regardless of the message. You read that right—apparently a door hanger communicates to the housekeeping staff, that they are NOT to enter the room—whether it hangs on the "Yes" side or "No" side. You would think Hilton Hotels had figured out the Do Not Disturb sign by now.

I really liked this property, My only concern is the lack of ability to fill a water bottle. In a time when we are drowning in plastic, having $4.00 plastic water bottles as the only option for filtered water is a real bummer. Everything else was great!

Also, we were told we may be able to check in early, but if you leave the lobby, you will miss out as its first come first serve. My friend and I flew in at 9 am and opted to try for early check-in and kept being told to check back in an hour. We decided to just order a drink at the bar at 2:30, but they didn’t serve alcohol or food until 4, which was check-in time. I wish there was some sort of list and the hotel would contact you so you could leave to explore the area without missing an early check-in room. Otherwise, nice employees and fantastic room.

Older hotel, missing items from the room, like coffee cups. Small ice maker that is heavy as hell. Ice machine making small cubes & dissolving faster & turning your drinks to a diluted substance. Bathroom has limited stuff, just a hand soap. Had to call number of times too a guest service for stuff. Not impressed at all.

I absolutely loved the Duniway a Hilton Hotel! From the moment I drove up and an employee/valet helped me figure out how to get into the parking garage with ease. The parking garage was so convenient, easy in and out with motel key. Easily accessible. The room was so nice, extra large tv, coffee maker and great view. No noises heard from other guests. Overall 10/10 will definitely stay there again! Oh and the lobby always smelled soooo good! Don’t know if it was an air freshener or what but smelled so good! The pool and fitness center were clean and spacious as well!

I go to Portland once a month to visit family and the Duniway has been one of my favorite hotels until this experience. I like the location. All the rooms have the really cute turquoise couch. There is a pool. But this time it was really loud. Drunk people woke me up at 1:30 in the morning. For a long time during the pandemic, the bar wasn’t open, so I was excited to try the restaurant. The food and drinks were overpriced and mediocre. But the primary reason I will never stay at this hotel again is because I woke up in the middle of the night and I saw a tiny roach in the bathroom. I texted the staff right away and was told that the manager was notified and then I heard nothing else. This hotel is too expensive to be this trashy. Also, it’s Portland. It’s not really a climate where roaches are prevalent. There is no excuse for that and then on top of it to not even have it addressed felt crazy.

The rooms were nice enough, but dated. Cheap wood veneer surfaces, scratched headboard, rust running out of the overflow in the sink because the sink was installed backward. Refrigerator but no microwave. Room had decent amenities, large newer tv and a comfortable couch as well as desk and table. No breakfast available unless you are a Hilton Rewards member. Motel 6 provides a free breakfast and microwave in the room, but Hilton doesn't..? Decent views from the 19th floor, but expect beggars and fentanyl addicts to be poking thru the garbage barrels outside or hunched over in a fentanyl induced daze once you hit ground level. Be prepared to be asked for a cigarette more than once as you leave the hotel. Feel free and drink the water bottles "provided" if you don't mind seeing a $4 charge per bottle show up on your invoice for a bottle of Niagara that sells for 38 cents at the grocery store.
