    The staff is great, but the room was ok. Because of the power outage, the AC stopped working and I do not like the bottled soaps in the bathroom and the toilet paper holder was broken. I brought my own soap, and overall had an ok stay. Really minor stuff, so would return because of the staff.

    This has been the worst experience during my stay with hotels booked by Expedia. Elevators not working, ice machines broken, tv picture setting was dull, when I asked front desk to please fix, i was told there was no maintenance crew available. I requested room cleaning service. I was told it was requested, when I came back to room, it wasnt cleaned, when I inquired, I was told they were short staff. Therefore my room was NOT SERVICED for 3 days!!! Fire alarm went off 2 night in a row at 1230am, (false alarm) disrupting sleep!!! what was suppose to be a nice enjoyable stay, was a terrible experience!!! Hotel had no ACCOUNTABILITY WHAT SO EVER!!

    I stayed at the Sonesta last summer and it was great. The last time I came it was a reservation nightmare. The staff seem to be unwilling to help travelers when issues arise. I was in their lobby for 2 hours from after 10pm to midnight when after waiting all that time I ended up with a reservation at another hotel through the booking site. NO help from staff here. Thought I’d try again and the pool is closed, elevators broken and rude unhelpful staff AGAIIN!!

    The fire alarm woke us up at 1 AM. The staff just sat at the reception desk and didn’t provide updates to all who came downstairs alarmed. We had to ask what was going on. It seemed like this was “normal” to them and some kind of messaging, like, “thanks for making it down, the firefighters are on their way to check out. Thank you for your patience…” but nothing.

    1) the lobby and other common areas were very warm and somewhat stuffy 2) a fire alarm went off early in the morning (~1 am) that went on for about an hour or so. I totally understand that these mechanisms are in place in case of an emergency so that's not my complaint. When I addressed the issue with the person at the front desk during checkout, they said taht this was a common issue and that they are looking into having a technician come out and take a deeper look at the issue.There should be some advance notification of this issue to any potential visitors so that they can make an informed decision on whether or not to book there. No one likes to have their sleep interrupted, especially when it's a false alarm and it's caused by a known issue. I'll be reaching out directly to the manager of this hotel to discuss my experience.

    Plenty of parking around the facility and it's in a nicer area so there's not really a feeling of not being safe (although you always have to be aware). Unfortunately I didn't partake in the breakfast, but in general the eating/lounge area is nice and clean. Staff always greeted with a smile when coming and going. Unfortunately the bathroom is a miss. Toilet is too close to the wall, toilet paper holder is right at your leg when sitting down and because of that is always loose. Unfortunately shower looked clean, but when I turned on the water, someone's set of eyelashes came out of the drain. TV is older and only has one real "streaming" option and you can't cast to it from personal device.

    Yes. They charge a 12 dollar resort fee when there is no resort… it is inappropriate. They should raise their prices by 12 dollars rather than back stabbing their customers with a charge which they are not even aware of.

    They had to change our room because the refrigerator was not working and the tv remote was missing. The breakfast options to purchase were very limited and when selecting a croissant they were hard and not edible. Doesn’t seem like they have fresh items. Also I was over charged for incidentals. I will be calling to understand those charges. When checking out the front desk was too busy to deal with me and just asked to hand me my room key and room number and he would check me out I never got a receipt to check the charges.

    No breakfast. The TV in the room did not work.We unpacked and had a repack and go to another room on a different floor. When we asked for blankets for the pullout couch , they said only sheets were available and no pillows. The thermostat in the room was too cold and did not work. The staff was not pleasant , nor were they helpful. No complimentary water. There was a coffee maker , but no coffee.

    Prepaid for a room but It took 40 minutes to check in at approx 4pm. Long line and only one front desk person for first 30 mins. Staff seemed under trained. Manager showed up trying to enter room because he thought it was empty. Room was mostly clean. There was some kind of soap spilled on the desk beneath the tv that i found the hard way.

    I would normally have given this hotel five stars. We have stayed here before, and while it is not luxury, it is clean, the beds are comfortable, and it is well set up. I took away one star because on the last night, our television would not work. When I finally found a staff member, he was uncomfortable responding, and finally said that he understood the management had not paid the bill for the DirectTV service. I have never heard of that happening in many years of travel. So, while all other aspects of the stay were fine, that was not acceptable.

    Checked into room 216 and went to take a shower after 11 hours of driving. When I turned on the tub faucet, stuff came out of the drain: looked like someone had vomitted into the tub and the staff didn’t clean it. DISGUSTING! We were moved into a different room and it wasn’t the best in terms of cleanliness: dirt along the base of the shower, stuff on the walls. Then the next morning, we went down for coffee and to see if there was any breakfast, there wasn’t anything at all. On day of checkout, asked for coffee to make in the room and was given coffee pods but there were no cups and they had no cream or sugar. Would definitely not recommend and we won’t stay at Sonesta again, any location!

    Our room itself was great—clean, spacious, and comfortable. I especially liked the lavender and clementine toiletries. Unfortunately, some of the amenities and service fell short. The pool was quite cool and extremely dirty. We notified the staff and even asked if we could borrow a skimmer ourselves, but nothing was done to address it. Breakfast was another disappointment. Continental breakfast was advertised to start at 7:00 a.m., but by 8:00 a.m. nothing had been set out. I happened to be in the area around 6:45 a.m. and saw staff chatting rather than setting up. Later we were told there had been “a situation,” but the breakfast hadn’t been prepared even before that occurred. Even offering pantry items or a simple alternative would have helped, especially since we booked this hotel partly for the convenience of breakfast. We also requested extra sheets and blankets for the pull-out couch. Instead of bringing them to the room, we were asked to come pick them up ourselves, and there was some difficulty communicating what we needed. Overall, the hotel itself was fine and the room was nice, but the level of service and attention to basic amenities was disappointing. Because of that, we would likely choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

    There was no one available at the front desk to check me in for at least 15 minutes—it felt like a ghost town. When I called for help adjusting the room temperature from cooling to heating, the staff was unable to provide guidance. The only option they gave was to change rooms, which does not address the issue at all. Additionally, the bathtub faucet literally fell off and I had to screw it back on. Overall, this hotel appears poorly managed and not well maintained. I would not recommend it and will not be staying at this property—or others in this brand—in the future.

    This was my first—and will be my last—stay at a Sonesta property in over five years, following multiple negative experiences at their hotels between 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately, this stay confirmed a complete lack of accountability at the brand level. I will not make the mistake of booking with Sonesta again. I spend only about 120 nights per year at home; the remaining 245 nights are spent traveling. Those nights will continue to be booked with brands that understand reliability, accessibility commitments, and guest accountability—and that compensate guests appropriately when expectations are grossly missed. Beyond the booking failure, the room itself was unacceptable: a visibly dirty bathtub with a grimy handprint on the wall, 2 of 3 shower-wall mounted soap/shampoo/conditioners on the wall were empty, trash receptacles without liners and stained basins, decades-old room phones, and outdated HVAC units that are loud enough to keep you awake unless powering down while leaving the room feeling stagnant. Overall experience: 0/10. Do not recommend.

    This is my favorite hotel anywhere in the SF bay and that says a lot as I spend at least half my days in hotels from Lake Tahoe to Monterey to Napa. Honestly this place is my favorite hotel period. I did have a bit of a problem with one of the front desk girls. Snobby brat kid. But that’s to be expected nowadays. Still love this place.

    We stayed in San Ramon for 3 days to visit family. We enjoyed the room's cleanliness, the location (near Bishop Ranch City Center), and the customer service (easy check-in and checkout and friendly staff). My recommendation is to request a room that is not on the first floor, as it is very noisy. There is an elevator, so it should be okay for people who need a bit of mobility assistance.

    On the first day, the receptionist gave me the wrong key to one of the rooms, meaning I was able to access a room that wasn’t mine. This is a major security and privacy concern, and it made us feel very uncomfortable. They only corrected the key on the second day. With mistakes like this, it’s clear that the hotel doesn’t have proper controls in place to protect guests’ rooms and belongings. Every time we asked for help, the response was that they were short on staff, and overall the receptionist’s attitude was rude and unprofessional. There also seemed to be no proper security presence, and the hotel didn’t feel well-managed or safe. For the amount we paid and the expectations we had, this stay was nowhere near acceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, security, or good service.

    My stay was decent. You can hear the freeway, so the room wasn't that insulated. No microwave in the room, which is a bit annoying. There is one in the lobby which was filthy, it needs a bit of cleaning. Parking is fine, hotel is located in San RAmon which is very reassuring when it comes to safety.

    Property is disgusting. Sheets are stained. Tv did not work. Shower curtain is full of mold. No toilet paper or towels on arrival. Floor is sticky and nasty. Sonesta chain should be embarrassed. When I asked management why the hotel is so bad, their response was that it’s hard to manage and keep up a hotel. I would demand a refund if they would have given it.

    Very unfreindly front desk staff. Pool closed for the weekend. Rooms are clean, but they smell like chemicals. Brakfast is handed to you in a brown paper bag. Ive stayed at nicer motel 6. I would suggest avoiding this place.

    We only had one towel for two people. Not good to find out in the middle of your shower One set of outlets didn’t work and plugs on lamps were too close to accommodate two plugs. So no room to plug in all items needing plugs. No plastic bags in garbage cans. Not good for messy garbage. No microwave!!! I had dinner to warm up and I’m on a strict diet. The rest was nice.

    My stay was 5 days and requested a room with a bathtub for my 3 year old son. When I checked in the front desk guy was not helpful and did not accommodate my needs. He also reeked of marijuana. The pool was dirty and needed cleaning. The shower floor was stained brown and disgusting, the shower doors were dirty, and the toilet paper holder was in the most inconvenient spot possible. I had to sit on an angle due to it being right against my thigh.

    The rooms themselves were nice, but the service and attention to detail left a lot to be desired. When we checked in, our room wasn’t ready, and once we got in, there were some basics missing — no bath mats and only one coffee cup. The next day we requested a refill for the coffee cart and only received cups, not the actual supplies. We also asked for fresh towels but were only given one. Overall, the accommodations were comfortable, but the lack of follow-through from staff made the stay less enjoyable than it could have been.

    The only complaint is that I think they may need more staff. The trash cans outside were all overloaded with trash. And there were many communal areas, like ice maker rooms where people had left bags of trash from their rooms. If these could be picked up on a regular basis the motel would be outstanding.

    Smelled pot the whole time. Heard guests walking on floor above is constantly. Halls full of linen bags. Noticed trash on side tables in halls left by guests. Not much brrakfast options, they may as well close the grab and go and just put the items in the little store they have in the corner. Huge breakfast area is very deceiving. A bonus would be microwaves in the rooms! BUT, rooms are always decent, staff are always kind, it is very convenient location, and has free parking. Great spot for a quick 1-3 day visit.

Fire alarm went off 25minutes one day for an inspection causing a migraine all day for my mother. Poor breakfast choices.

    Checked in on Friday evening and had a good experience with a young lady working the evening shift at the front desk.On Saturday night I stopped by the front desk again inquiring about a late check out on sunday. I was happy because she was very pleasant and polite . She recommended I return early morning on Sunday and sign up for the travel pass and told me for a 100pm check out it would be a 35.00 fee and to tell the front desk clerk that she recommended I come to the front desk in the early morning and sign up for travel pass and then pay the 35.00 for the late check out. So Sunday morning between 730-800 am I aproach a young man at the desk and explain what the young lady recommended and the fee i was told for a 1:00pm check out. The young man proceded to tell me late check out begins at 50.00 and goes higher each hour after that. I told him I was told 35.00 by the young lady the night before who recommended I take care of the payment and sign up for travel pass in the morning amd explained I was in San Ramon to officiate my sons wedding at the fircrest lane golf course that day and was hoping for at least 1pm check out for 35.00 as I was told the night before but he preceeded to dismiss what I said and told me we only have house cleaning till 400pm amd that it would cost me 50 and then an hour after its 75. I ended up having no choice but to pay 50.00 or sit in my officate gown in my car in 87plus degree weather until 245pm when the ceremony was to begin.

    Highly recommend this property. Friendly and helpful staff, clean, quiet and safe with huge parking lot. My room was spacious with a comfy king bed, sofa bed, fridge, big flat screen, big desk area, strong wi-fi, and a big window to open for fresh air. There is a great restaurant across the lot, and if you want to walk about a half mile, there is a Whole Foods, Target with CVS pharmacy, and multiple restaurants and shops at Bishop Ranch. I also went for a nice hike at the nearby natural preserve. Excellent experience all around, I will return.

    Gym and pool are a plus and breakfast. Nice balcony. Reasonable rates. Large room. Bathroom Vanity is small- so no where to put your things. Toilet is close to the wall. My leg almost touched the wall and I have thin legs. I was told I could not check in after 12 midnight and my flight got in late so I barely made it. Not ideal if you have a late flight.
