Tru by Hilton Smyrna Nashville

Older property and could use updating. But it was clean. Housekeeping did not come every 2 days during my stay and when I requested it due to full garbage and needing towels, it didn’t happen. Staff was friendly but frustrated by lack of follow thru.

I had no hot water for my morning shower. When I called the front desk to complain, the manager just said, I will notify the maintenance people. No apology or compensation offered.

Helpful staff and great amenities. Quality breakfast, and gym. There is even a pool table in the lobby. Interesting setup with Tru and Home2 suites sharing opposite ends of one long building. I would definitely stay here again.

Though local, I frequently stay here just to get away. The room is always clean. Breakfast is a true breakfast with hot foods with hearty to healthy choices. No outrageous, incidental fees, and the one time that I had an issue (loud children at play) they moved me to the top no hassle. Love it here. Paying a mortgage but TRU is a part of my self care.

Location was good and bed is comfortable. Walls are so thin we could hear our neighbors from 11:30pm until 1:00am when we called the desk to ask them to turn the music down. We could hear conversations very clearly so it kept us awake. Very frustrating as we were there for an early morning soccer game. Will not pick a Tru by Hilton again!

Good

When we arrived the room wasn’t ready because of staffing issues so we waited two hours. Which wasn’t a big deal because we wanted a clean room. Once we checked in there were towels from a previous stay hanging up behind the door in the bathroom and there were spots on the wall as if something was spilled and not cleaned up. The actual room was okay, nothing looked out of order. The staff were nice and polite, very professional.

Disappointing

The breakfast was very good and there was plenty of selection. It was busy but still room for parking. We only stayed one night and had very little interaction with the staff, but the interaction we did have was friendly. The room was smaller than I expected, but it was fine for a one-night stay.

Great breakfast, coffee was so good and hot. Front staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and well stocked.

My negative comments are minimal. I wish the breakfast had offered more than an orange for fruit and had a plant based milk option. Also, the pool was closed. We should have checked that before booking.

Gym was clean and well equipped. Bed was made with the first under-sheet being a bed skirt. Incredibly itchy. Yes, I am sure and took pics. Body soap was very low even after being serviced. Staff was very friendly.

Room was clean and staff was friendly. Jacqueline (not sure of spelling) was friendly at check in and she did a great job handling the situation she was placed in. We were in the midst of a snow storm and she lost internet and computer for about an hour. Lots of agitated guests were rolling in and she handled it like a champ.

Bathroom needed some maintenance to fix peeling wallpaper and loose tiles. Receptionist was lovely. Ice machine wasn't working and hot water dispenser empty.

It was great. A good selection of protein carbs and fiber.

My neighbor started playing loud music at 6 am and I could here it through the wall.

The room was incredible. Beds were very clean and very comfortable. Restroom was very clean. Staff was extremely friendly.

They don't change the towels or anything, and the front desk staff doesn't even look you in the face.

The facilities are very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Everything felt modern and thoughtfully designed to make your stay relaxing and convenient. The rooms were spotless, quiet, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was another highlight. Unlike other nearby hotels, the breakfast here was fresh, well organized, and offered a great variety of options. It was the perfect way to start our day. Overall, this hotel easily surpasses others in the area in terms of comfort, service, and quality. We will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The breakfast was good. There were no eggs when I came down and no more were brought out (perhaps too close to the end of the allotted time). Other than that, no real complaints. The property was clean, the staff were very friendly and I feel the price for my stay was a good value. That was my 2nd time at the property. Would certainly return.

Convenient to our bridal shower location

The location and breakfast was awesome…the rooms were very clean and beds were great…the atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. We had no complaints. I tv remote didn’t work but within a few minutes we recieved a different one.

The breakfast was exceptionally good as was the staff serving and bussing tables Beds were hard. Noisy neighbors, teenagers screaming and slamming doors, no one enforced quiet policy.

The hotel was clean and the staff was excellent! I also loved that the location was close enough to anything, but out of the way of the city traffic.

Our only complaint was the drain in our bathroom was slow to drain and linen on our bed was odd. The dust ruffle was part of the sheet you covered up with.

Staff was great! We ended up checking in at a very late hour, we arrived at 12:10am when they had asked us to come by 12am. They were very accommodating and still helped us check in to our room for a good night's sleep!

This is the cheapest-built building I've even been in. No soundproofing at all. I could hear conversations in three different rooms. As soon as the elevator door opens, I could hear the riders talking -- and I was 9 doors down! And let's not forget the upstairs neighbor stomping around and keeping me up. I finally got to sleep after everyone else settled down. I wound up just leaving at 4am to get out of there. :(

On the bed side of rating, not same beds or linens as the Tru hotel in Logansport IN and it was obvious they weren’t the same quality? Why not if same chain of hotels??

Very dated and used for its age. The pool was down the whole time and the hotel had pot and other bad smells.

The staff answered all of my parents questions, no matter how trivial (like when TV went out due to a thunderstorm and parents didn't realize what happened) and the Tru workers maintained their great attitudes for their entire 4 night stay. Thanks Michelle!! The rooms were clean and nice and as described in the pictures. The breakfast was great with a nice selection. It was the great demeanor and helpfulness of the Tru staff in Smyrna which will can make me highly recommend the Smyrna Tru to others who are curious about the hotel.

I did not particularly like the size of the room, the amount of “closet” space and the lack of a kettle in the room. There was hot water downstairs but was only hot in the morning.

I booked at the last minute and was very impressed with the service was and how great the room looked. Will definitely be booking again in the near future.

What a great set up! We stayed on a Friday to Saturday. Lots of high school sports teams also staying this night. There were a lot of activities in the lobby, and a lot of places for people to hang out, which gave the kids a lot of places to be, instead of just in their rooms. Made for quiet rooms and a great night's sleep.

Such a colorful hotel. Love the market downstairs and the breakfast is spectacular. Comfortable bed. And love the lotion/shower products provided in the room. This is where we will stay every time we come to Nashville

We stayed for four days and it was lovely! Only complaint I had was that there wasn't a microwave in the room. But they had one in the lobby so it wasn't the end of the world. Breakfast was somewhat varied every morning and the orange juice is better than most hotels!

I wasn’t notified that there were no dressers in the room and no storage which made for an uncomfortable stay. We tried to call guest service several times for toilet paper towels and pillows and received no answer. Appt there is no over night staff to help with any of this. We actually left Sunday but paid through Monday because we were so uncomfortable. Clean hotel but would never stay there again.

Hallways smelled like cigarettes

My room was very good, however, when i tried to call the front desk for 2 hours to report the people above my room was being to loud they failed to answer.

After a long travel day, you’re ready to get checked into your hotel room and relax. We arrived, walked in no one to be seen, waited and waited. I walked over a knocked on an employees only door, no answer. Continued to wait, decided I would call the hotel, well someone else was already calling the phone rang and rang and did not get answered. We remembered the doorbell at the entrance so we pushed that, finally a young man came from I don’t know where, chomping his gum, flipping his hair, and never even apologized. Very rude greeting when I’m the one paying your pay check. Won’t be staying there again and won’t recommend.

Your using the Hilton name but not the standards. Poor customer service. No bathroom fan, no carpet in rooms, no bible, no guide for the tv, no ice buckets, pool to small and always overcrowded. No scratch pad or microwave in room.

Great amenities, horrible front desk staff. 2 of the front desk employees were horrendous and one was just indifferent and kinda rude. Check in time is 3pm, but we, along with other guests, sat waiting in the lobby for our rooms until 3:30. Not super easy with little kids in tow while it’s raining out. Staff did not apologize for our rooms not being ready, and then accused me of harassing them because I asked if the room was ready after check in time. I’ve never experienced that level of poor customer service. Rooms are small and there’s no surface area for your stuff. I would not advise families to stay in a double queen. It was very cramped with 2 adults and 2 little kids compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in. Breakfast and pool were great. But… The cons far outweigh the pros for me. I won’t be staying here again.

Sincerely You make a reservation for a room on the 1st. floor, and they put you on the 4th floor. Don't waist your time.

Stay was okay. The room did not have a desk for my business needs. Bed was good. Shower leaked water out into the bathroom floor…you could tell the water leakage was an ongoing problem due to replaced tile. No microwave was a disappointment. Breakfast was okay.

Tru is always a lovely place to stay. Only reason for not top rating was because the elevator had a pretty bad smell. Upon arrival reception refused to give us water we requested and refused to add the stay to my husbands account for points. I can down later and made these changes with the other desk person, so mischief managed. No harm, no foul.

We had a great stay! Place was clean and welcoming. Only issue was we couldn't get connected to the wifi but wasn't a big deal for us as we were just using it for our phones so didn't ask the front desk for help. Breakfast was good. Check out was easy. Lounge/lobby was great, lots of comfy seating and air hockey foosball and a pool table.
