Sleep Inn Staunton

Traveling to the beach and needed a little stop before getting all the way there. Found the hotel as it was reasonably priced. Wonderfully greeted by staff at check in!!! Clean room and had waffles for the kids to eat at breakfast. Would stay again !!!!

New, clean, quiet, modern property. Great location for I81 and downtown Staunton. Very good buffet breakfast - not just a continental as many offer. Perfect for a one night stay passing through.

The best part was that the air conditioner's motor sound wasn't loud and grinding like most hotel units. It sounded like a rain shower! Also, this is the first hotel room I have ever stayed in where I did not adjust the temperature at all! It actually maintained the room temp our entire 2 night stay. One last thing...we were supposed to stay one more night, but my son was sick and we needed to head home. Because I had booked the room on Hotels.com, they were unable to issue me a refund for the third night. I contacted Hotels.com, and they called the staff at Sleep Inn, who promptly approved Hotels.com giving me a refund for that night! Thanks so much, Sleep Inn, Staunton!

This is the second time we've stayed here. We occasionally need to be close to Augusta Valley Health facilities. This will now be our go-to spot for that. It's been newly renovated and was very well done. It's always clean, and staff are very friendly and helpful. (Jamie is especially top notch!) The breakfast offers a wide variety of hot and cold options. I especially love it because they have gluten free items, including muffins. And all of this for a reasonable price. They've earned repeat customers in us!

We have stayed here numerous times , unfortunately it is getting less cleaning attention as time goes on. And security isn’t a priority. The rooms are dirty on the floors , they bless the obvious spots that can be seen easily. The corners of all areas are dirty and dusty . The shower outside corners are nasty. The staircase B had an outside door which never locked from day through night . Anyone can access property, we won’t be back

Staff was helpful for our very late check in and got us to our room. Unfortunately, room had a really bad smell. There was an ionizer in the room that was not plugged in when I asked about it, I was told it should have been removed and given a bottle of Lysol to spray in the room. In fairness I could have switched rooms but due to how late just wanted to get some sleep. The room smelled like someone probably was smoking in it. Maybe the reason for the ionizer.

For $200@ night I would expect a classier accommodation. You should have the executives from your parent company spend two consecutive nights at one of their Sleep Inn rooms, I guarantee they won’t do it twice.

The hotel is not fancy, but is new and clean. Our room was big and the bed and pillows were very comforting. An altogether great stay.

Check in/check out was simple, room was fresh and looked almost brand new. Loved the stand up shower vs. tub and loved the toilet and shower were separate from the toilet. The door to the toilet/shower didn't close, it was broken. The coffee was TERRIBLE. It had zero flavor whatsoever. Everything else was wonderful.

My friend and I stayed here for a concert in Charlottesville. I’m glad we stayed outside of Charlottesville. There were a lot of restaurants and fast food in the area. The hotel staff were SUPER friendly. I arrived alone and the woman at the front desk told me she was a mom and wanted to make sure I’d be safe before my friend arrived. The breakfast was standard hotel breakfast. The room was clean and quiet. The bathroom was very small but manageable, and there were plenty of mirrors in the room. Overall this was a great place to stay for 2 nights if you’re on a budget.

We sre older adults. Traveling long days from S to N. We stop in the middle. A necessary rest. Fire alarm at 11pm wakes us. Rings for at least 5 minuted. Phone doest work to see if its a real fire. Whole hall concerned, of course. We hear all clear. Alarm was a mistake. Not easy at this point to get back to sleep. And then 5 am same thing. It was not a helpful rest for us. Could never recomend. Even tho the beds were lovely. Room clean. Shower great althi small. Breakfast very nice. The main important piece for us is a good restful rejuvenating sleep. Disappointing and disturbing night.

Colleen greeted us at check-in and was extremely friendly and helpful. When we went upstairs and realized she had given us a double queen room (turned out to be due to a miscommunication from Expedia), I returned to the desk to let her know I had booked a king (per my confirmation and receipt), and she switched us without issue, as there was still one available. Our room was clean with a super comfy bed and plenty of pillows. Room temp was easily controlled. Had a microwave and fridge and everything we needed for a quick overnight halfway home from a southern road trip vacation. Property is clean and up-to-date and the area feels very safe at night. Only downside was the thin walls, but as regular budget-conscious travelers we are used to that and always bring a fan or sound machine to ensure a restful night. Super convenient, right off I-81 and lots of places to dine nearby. Free breakfast was basic but good hotel fare, and we appreciated that it was still hot and plentiful when we came down at 8:30, even though it was offered 6 to 9am. Staunton is a great little city, and the hotel was so nice (and affordable!) that we’re thinking of a weekend trip there when the weather is warmer!

Staff was nice and room was clean. Tv didn’t work and they tried a second tv but that wouldn’t connect to the hotel WiFi either. Rooms are very small and the toilet/shower room is VERY small. Sink is in the bedroom area which was awkward with 4 people staying in the room.

This is the prefect stop for us as we travel to Asheville. Jaime is a wonderful host so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There are four things to get a shout out. The beds - soooo comfortable; the sheets - omg so smooth and luxurious; the shower - wonderful after a long drive; the breakfast - great sausage, eggs and biscuits!!! All in all, not much more you could ask for. Oh, I almost forgot, the best of all, you get it all at a great price

This was an all around great stay! The lobby and staff are very welcoming. I noticed on the marker board that gluten free breads were available with the continental breakfast. The desk clerk made a point to go back and pick out several items to mark for me. They were ready the next morning. You can tell the facility is being upgraded by the new owners. Yet the upgrades were not disruptive or noisy. Should I have the need, I would absolutely stay here again in the future.

For the price the place is a great deal - basic but not run down at all as other hotels at this price point are likely to be. Breakfast was better than I expected. Several hot dishes, make your own waffles, yogurt and boiled eggs. Gave lower score because served oatmeal packets, and only saw whole milk (no skim). Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.

Th staff were very friendly and professional. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The coffee cups were a bit small (maybe 8 oz), the doors are very thin (could hear the ice machine all night), and the light switch just inside the door doesn’t seem to do anything (experienced this in two different rooms). These were minor inconveniences and overall we had a good stay.

The hotel is newly remodeled making it a better value than some of the other area hotels. All of our basic needs were met. The bed linens were soft and smelled good. The front desk staff member was friendly and helpful at check-in. We did not eat breakfast, but it looked good with hot and cold options.

Staff was great. Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. One issue that is exclusive to tall folks is that the ceilings are very low in the common areas of the hotel - hallways, lobby, breakfast dining area. I'm not sure why the hotel was built/renovated this way but all the ceilings in those places are right around 6'7 or 6'8, and being 6'7 myself, I hit my head multiple times either moving from one area to the next, on a fire sprinkler, or just on an upstep while walking from the breakfast buffet to my table. It made the place feel claustrophobic and cheaply done. I know the general public won't have any issues with it, but it felt worth mentioning.

The continental breakfast was not good, but who really chooses a place to stay for a continental breakfast. There is a good restaurant next door.

Only things were dog barking all hours (which I could sleep through) & the parking lot did get full at night but there were many events around this weekend! Would recommend others to stay.

Beds were clean and fairly comfortable. Service was fine. Floors in rooms were sticky, random crumbs on chairs, no soap in rooms. Wall had a huge hole in the drywall and evidence it was attempted to be repaired. It was obviously too large to patch. But it was just left like that, which was tacky. Bureau for storing clothing was not usable due to being damaged. I almost told the desk about these things so they would know I was not involved in the damage, but I didn’t because some man was up there for ages complaining about something and I didn’t want to bug the front desk staff. I figured they already knew. Breakfast was average. Overall I just needed to sleep and wash up on a long road trip, so it was fine for that.

Plesantly surprised by this hidden gem! We had stayed at another hotel just up the road a few nights previously on the front end of a road trip. On the way back, I booked at this hotel and I was blown away by difference in quality, comfort, and cleanliness for a very nominal price difference. We will be staying here from now on!

We had someone walk in our room at 1:00am in the morning because they didn’t didn’t check us in correctly. I’m still working on a $151.00 charge to my card from Expedia because she didn’t know how to use a different credit card at check in so they think I canceled when in fact we stayed. Noisy people downstairs near our window on picnic tables. Also breakfast was served at 8:00am too late for us to eat. We needed to get on the road. Not happy with this property

The Sleep Inn in Staunton is an economy hotel. It is quiet and clean. Parking is free, and there is a decent free continental breakfast

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times & every time the staff is respectful, kind & and amazing. The room is always clean & very spacious. I plan on any more travels that I need to be to stay overnight in that area, this is where I’ll be. Parking is great. Plenty of places to eat & breakfast is awesome too!

Great place to stay. Odd bathroom situation. Sink is in the bedroom. Toilet and shower are in the other room. No room to open the shower door with the toilet right there.

How clean it was

Good staff and clean. The only problem was our room was facing the street. We heard the cars non stop and this particular night, we heard the doors opened and closed loudly till midnight. We hardly got any sleep last night. Not a bad place but any room in the front of the building may have problems with noisy cars because of proximity to the main streets.

The breakfast was good with a good variety of selections

This was a basic hotel off the highway. It was clean. The staff was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. The coffee and breakfast were very good.

The room was clean and comfortable. Quiet and on the first floor as we requested. Very good breakfast with a good variety of cold and hot options.

It was conveniently located, parking was free and easy, they have free EV charging, and it was newly renovated and clean.

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with the waffle maker. The sink is outside the bathroom. Fridge and microwave available but no freezer section in the fridge. Staff were really nice and welcoming.

Would stay again

I stay at this hotel at least twice a year. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. My dog is welcomed. He even gets toys and treats sometimes when we are there. The staff are very friendly and I will continue to stay in this hotel when I travel.

The stay was fine. The desk clerks were professional & courteous. Breakfast was good. Our only complaint was that the a.c. In our room didn't cool down low using the setting we put it on. Otherwise, a good stay overall.

The location is unbeatable and we opted to stay at the inn rather than explore the area for that day and evening. You walk out the door to Taughanock Falls and the lake across the road. The natural beauty surrounding the property is breathtaking. The outdoor dining and firepit seating areas overlook the lake and kept us there for both dinner and drinks after. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone was warm and helpful. We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition and can’t wait to return and maybe even stay in one of the top floor rooms being renovated! There’s no doubt they will be spectacular.

Easy check-in and the desk personnel were very informative and helpful. Room was very clean and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast here. You had a variety of choices for breakfast including hot or cold. The lady that was handling the food was extremely polite and says she "makes the meal with love". Be sure and check out Mrs. Rowes across the street and the Virginia Made store as well.

This hotel is always wonderful to stay at. The front desk staff are personable and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I stay here 3-4 different times per year, being that it's located right off the interstate.

Very clean, updated, no carpet which is nice! Great breakfast!

My only negative was the vanity/mirror/sink is outside of the bathroom. If one person was awake early and using water/sink/light, everyone got to be awake early. The free breakfast was delicious with many hot and cold choices. I loved that the flooring in the room was laminate not carpet.

Everything was nice and clean. The staff was really nice and check in and out was easy. The continenal breakfast was good too. The only negative was the sliding bathroom door could not be completely closed from the inside. Great stay overall!

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at the Sleep In in Staunton. I had a great experience both times. The staff was great and very knowledgeable about the area. Nice full breakfast in the morning and the staff kept it stocked. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The worst French toast I've ever encountered. Cold, and couldn't be cut with the plastic knives on hand.

The two most important things for me were cleanliness and that it was pet friendly. I was impressed with both. I was traveling with a medium dog and a cat and the staff was very welcoming of both, even providing a toy and treats for each. The room had no carpet which is great when they accept pets. There were no funky smells. They have a large grass area with the pet waste setup. The only thing that would make it better is a fence. They're right off 81 with a gas station next door. Breakfast was great. Only two floors with the stairs, elevator, and breakfast right there at the front, not hidden around some corner. Definitely recommend. Thank you, thank you, we will be back.

It was an overnight stop on the road. It met our needs. Affordable, clean, quiet, and hot breakfast. Staff was accommodating and aiming to please.

I did not like that the sink is located outside of the bathroom shower area.
