Room and bathroom were huge. Only 2 rooms on the 1st floor, the rest tou have to go up the elevator to the 2nd floor, and the elevator was not in the greatest condition.

All rooms are on the second floor. Parking was rough. The beds made noise just getting in and out. The bathroom was HUGE!

Price was okay, I had points to use on my Expedia account so wasn't to bad.

It contains all necessary properties, like microwave, refrigerator, good breakfast and parking lot.

The cost was very reasonable but the carpet, flooring, curtains, etc certainly need a lot of upgrading. The decor is certainly on the older side. This hotel will be ideal with a little upgrading. The location is great and close to everything. Staff was very accommodating.

Staff is always so nice!

From this day, I was missing a mini fridge and was provided a dirty room. The bed I slept in, had pee in it. Between the bed and the headboard there was dirty underwear and trash. The staff was fairly professional, except for the staff that we had to go through in order to get any compensation and that was the manager. She had an attitude and she couldn't understand the concept of the fact that the dirty sheets were swapped out.

Need coffee maker in the room. The shower tub very slow to drain. Staff were pleasant. Parking an issue.

The location was great, room was big, there was a sliding door that opened to a small balcony. The room was next to the stairwell and you could hear people all night and day. The people were not quite and sometimes set of their car alarms on purpose. Housekeeping only goes in every 3 days to service the room. The floors don't get cleaned daily the trash isn't emptied. If you ask for service sooner they will tell you maybe if they can then reset you 3 day time. Was there for 5 days and housekeeping came in 1x.

Stayed here many times over the years. Definitely down a bunch of notches. Staff didn’t clean the room until our last (5th) night. Breakfast was non existent and staff were s bit rude. Getting run down there.

Noisy at night, there was a parking issue. I guess there were visitors using the clients parking space and blocking the access to the parking area. There was an instance in which a visitor insulted one of the guests because he blocked him and was not able to get out of the parking space. The problem was that the visitor should have not been using the guest, space because we pay for the staying at the hotel and the visitor should respect that ! There should be order in this facility, some one has to let visitors know that the parking is for the clients and not the visitors.

Location is very nice. Lobby is on the 2nd floor which was a little confusing upon arrival but actually worked out better when getting some coffee, which is available 24/7, in the morning before leaving. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Can clearly hear everytime when people pass by.

The staff help making sure my accommodations were pleasing to me. The stains on the carpet and no ironing appliances in room.

Parking is tight if you return late at night. Over the course of 7 day stay, one night I had to park in a no-parking spot in the hotel parking lot because they ran out of space. The staff were nice about it and gave me some orange cones to mark my car.

I really enjoyed the staff members and the breakfast. The location of the hotel was great; especially close to the beach communities.

Location Our family has been using this location for the last 4 years, twice a year. Mainly because of location and the comp breakfast. We were here also in February , but THIS visit...Very disappointed that the breakfast was only serving waffles. No toothpaste, bar soap, iron/board. Like it was before previous visits. The ice machine on 3rd floor IS ALWAYS out of order, EVERY time we visit! The room smelled of BO...this place went down hill. We are visiting again in June, but will look elsewhere. We stayed 4 days.

Parking in this hotel is easy but it seems the number of parking lot is not sufficient. The cleanness of the double queue bed room is basically, especially for the bathroom, the shower is perfect! I feel if the hotel could improve the variety of breakfast (currently there are milk & waffle), it will be more attractive!

The property itself looks questionable but, it's surprisingly clean and well maintained. I didn't have much interaction with the staff aside from checking in and checking out. They offer a free homemade waffle breakfast (premade batter that you cook on a waffle iron) with coffee, milk or a few juices. My room was on the ground floor, right by the entrance of the property and I was either dead asleep or, there wasn't much noise that affected my stay. Ultimately, I slept great in a comfortable bed with the heat on because it was uncharacteristically cold for Memorial day weekend.

No major issues with room. I liked that they had a mini-fridge and even a microwave. Shower pressure was mid and draining of the water was slow. Limited outlet options, so bring a power strip if you have a lot of devices needing to be charged. I was fine with it but it can be noisy for some because of the Residence Inn pool that is next to this hotel. Del Amo mall is within walking distance as well as some other retail/dining options. Breakfast (07:00 - 10:00) was basic (water, coffee, fruit bar, etc.) but something I haven’t come across was they had a waffle maker. I definitely took advantage of that. Parking can be a little tight depending on your vehicle and spots can fill up quick. If I’m ever in the area and need a place to stay, this place would be a place I would consider.

The refrigerator had an incorrect cooling temperature. We were traveling with a diabetic person in our group, and when we stored the insulin, it froze. We spent an entire day at the hospital, and we were not compensated in any way. On top of that, we lost an entire day of our trip.

The bedroom is okay clean and nice. But the breakfast is pathetic. They do have a coffee, tea, and a waffle. It is a bit misleading to say they do have a breakfast. I am disappointed with that. I expected eggs,, fries, milk and so on. Those do not exist in their breakfast menu. Generally, there was no breakfast.

The biggest suggestion I could make would be for more choices for breakfast. All that was available was waffles, coffee and juice. Perhaps some toast, yogurt, cereal, etc for anyone not liking waffles.

The room was clean, but the carpet was still wet from a cleaning. So there was a smell. It is right off of the Main Street and it was very very load. Ambulance sirens, and honking all night. Other than that room was mediocre but acceptable. Fridge and microwave were convenient. We were able to request a coffee put and there was fresh coffee, waffles, hot cocoa and OJ in the lobby.

The room is comfortable, fridge is cold and freezes my blue ice for my lunches. Microwave works, shower isn't nasty, comfy bed and pillows. I don't watch tv so can't say what they have. It's 3 floors, 1 elevator and 2 sets of staircases. For those who will be leaving before the breakfast is served, the coffee and hot chocolate machine is available to use.

Staff was extremely rude and completely unhelpful with every interaction that occurred during our stay. It was like they just couldn’t be bothered with anything that had to do with customer service. They were annoyed when you walked into the lobby to interact with them at the front desk.

This place was infested with roaches had to leave before my check out. Staff did not seem surprised about there being roaches in fact staff had no empathy or emotions to the situation as if they were used to it they know about it or they just don’t care collecting checks I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel hotel in FACT CONDEMN this hotel I paid for a private room not a room with unwanted guest.

The “breakfast” is just carbs, no protein , but Denny’s and IHOP are right across the street.

Staff was extremely rude and completely unhelpful we extended our stay from 2 nights and added 5 more days and they wouldn’t even accommodate us to check out at 1130am instead of 11am. We left the room immaculate at 11:10-11:15 latest they charged us an extra $50 for late fee and then kept our $100 deposit stating at first that we stole A towel, then when we told them that was not the case the manager told us to leave our towels outside the door if we needed new ones so we did and if there was a towel missing it was probably due to the fact that we put our towels out front and that no one picked them up until a day and a half later. They then changed the story and said the room was left too dirty but they didn’t know we brought a handheld vacuum and didn’t even leave trash in the trash cans when we left so it was just something they decided to make up. Do not stay here and if you have to take detailed pictures and notes of the room’s condition when you arrived and when you left because you most likely won’t get a deposit back automatically. In addition to this we tipped the cleaning person $80 cash when we checked out so even if we didn’t vacuum and make sure the trash was taken out etc you would think they wouldn’t take $100 for a “dirty” room.

No pens were available in room or at office.. Room phone wasn't working and once I got it working there was static and could barely understand what other person was saying... No fruit or even remotely available breakfast options. Did have a waffle maker but that was it. Walkways to the rooms have massive stains and water buildup and no rain was in the area for over a week. Ice machine broken. Had a vending machine that offered ramen noodles which was nice. Staff at the desk maybe said only a few words.

The breakfast consisted of either a nutrograin bar or you could make a waffle. There was coffee and orange juice too.

The place was supper clean. The staff are doing amazing keeping this property nice and neat. Will always stay here from now on. Their setup is odd with the lobby being on the second floor. I was trapped in the elevator for 15 minutes trying to transport my suitcase to the hotel room, and every time I called the main office to report my being stuck in the elevator, they hung up on me. The room appeared clean although I found someone's baseball cap plain on the desk in the room. If housekeeping missed that in plain sight, then I can only imagine what else was missed. Breakfast was not good. Not a lot of options and what was available was decidedly unhealthy (the basic waffle mix made out of high fructose corn syrup). The price for one night was not cheap, especially for all of the trouble I went through with this hotel. I will not be staying there again despite its convenient location.

The place was okay. But if you pay for a hotel with breakfast included, they should include some breakfast and coffee. At this place, the coffee was cold. There was never any hot coffee, and there were only granola bars and waffles. I at least expected cereal or hot oatmeal, some fruit, something like that, but NOTHING! They shouldn't even say that breakfast is included. I wanted to make that perfectly clear so you'll take it into account if you're considering staying there.

I would never stay at this property again. The rooms are old, the breakfast was terrible, no spoons for yogurt and when I asked for one the staff member didn't acknowledge that there weren't any and even indicate she'd look for one. The carpet was filthy and I was afraid to take my shoes off. No, never again.

HoJo has been famed as a value priced hotel chain. This time I checked in the same Torrance CA HoJo for the third time within a year. I had experienced the “value” drastically reduced. Since I have stayed there 3 times, I could compare the hospitality experience. The staff was okay for check-in and managed the breakfast area. For other than staff, here are my feedback. First, bed sheets are newer than before. However the pillows were smaller because the fillings were less or compressed because of frequent used. Therefore the pillows were only one third the size of a normal and regular pillows. Housekeepers smartly folded the pillows so they were presentable like naturally inflated. 2, the carpet in the room was soiled and looked desperately needed to be replaced. 3, because the sink was outside the bath/toilet room, by the sink there was a attached to the wall hand wash/bath gel bottle with pump while the bath tub had a attached to the wall shampoo/conditioner gel bottle with pump. My solution was to get some bath gel in a coffee cup cover and took it to taking a bath. Very inconvenient. 4, the breakfast offering had changed or cost cutting drastically. During my stay it offered coffee, hot/cold water, tea bags, Nutri Gran Bars, two waffle machine, preserves and butter, juice machine with two juice choices, and milk. Big difference between past stays and the current one was no yogurt, no cereals, no bagels, no toasts, and no fruit such as oranges and bananas. Cost cutting!!

I try given this place another try but no . What’s the. Point of sending a txt to pre register only to do it in person all over again and when you let them know they have an attitude and say no that’s not us . On top of that the bed sheets were dirty thankfully we bring our own blankets to sleep with . Top everything up no one cleans the room till the third day if you want them to clean it or bring sheets you need to inform them. First for me to have to call to get my room clean or new towels. Just spend the extra money and get a better hotel . Will not be coming back to this

Breakfast quality very poor. Almost non-existent. The receptionist told us that they had discontinued it since a month, even though it is still advertised on the website.

I've stayed at this property for years as I live in Northern CA and my family lives near this location so it's very convenient when I visit them. Since my July 2025 stay and this one, no longer serves a nice breakfast as it was a real selling point for me and the many others who were always in that room when I went to get coffee and a bagel. This morning, NO ONE WAS THERE. Raise your price a few dollars and bring the breakfast back. And my room is never completely full of furniture, very weird. And last night, the large street sign was completely dark when I came back after dinner. The property needs a lot of work or I and I'm sure many others will no longer stay here.

Everything is above average. I am satisfied with the price. However, the voice of the guest next to we can be heard loudly clearly on the wall. This made it very difficult for me to relax.

Though the hotel mentioned breakfast, we honestly felt cheated. There was literally nothing—just some coffee, yogurt, and juice. Not even basic items like bread, eggs, or a banana. This definitely cannot be called breakfast. We stayed for 3 days and ended up going out to have breakfast every single day. At this price point, there are much better options available. The only positive was that the room was clean, but overall it was not worth the cost.

Upon arrival no clear signs to park. Found a housekeeper to direct me to elevator to lobby. Greeted by disinterested front desk person who told me there was only a room outside of normal hotel although I booked 2 months in advance. I felt unsafe and in a grungy less than basic room. “Breakfast” was coffee and juice and some yogurt. Not even a bread to be had. I bought a Diet Coke from vending machine and couldn’t get out fast enough

The place did not look like a hotel , it was nasty and it had bugs in the bathroom and on the sheets. The breakfast was a joke, no eggs or any kind of bread. How can you call it breakfast if all they had was instant oatmeal, orange and a small cup of yogurt. This is not breakfast

Basic good amenities

Receptionist barely acknowledged us upon check-in. No “welcome,” no “enjoy your stay,” no smile. No customer service skills. Toilet was not working properly. We had to borrow a plunger to fix it ourselves several times during our stay. Paper-thin walls meant plenty of noise from adjacent rooms. And so on.

Staff and room cleaners are great. But the property is very old and need renovation. They were nice to allow us to change rooms twice because of bad smell. There was a guest lady lost her mind at late night/early morning and called names and slammed the door many times. Eventually police came to take her away. The other day, the hotel next door had a grand police car show, 13 of the police cars came for a quarrel/fight in pool party or something. Really bad neighborhood.

1st Good Luck finding the lobby its in the middle of the hotel on the 2nd floor. The room we had was clean except for the carpet. Very small room for a 3 night stay. There were no comfortable chairs to sit on.

I hated everything about my stay. The room was disgusting. Dirty walls, stained ceiling, suspicious stains on the bathroom wall and the tub, cracks in the sink. The carpet looks like it hasnt been washed for years. The room smells disgusting. You shower and you end up feeling dirtier than you did before. The elevator didnt work the whole time and when it did, you worry if you would get trapped in it. At one point during the stay, it was broken. The "free breakfast" is literally just bread and bagels. The outside walls are caked in dirt.

It was convenient. The breakfast could have had a few more options. Maybe some fresh fruit or something. Otherwise it served its purpose of our trip.

Everything was good except for breakfast. When i book rooms, i always make sure i pick ones with free breakfast. Maybe i didnt read right but they didnt have a breakfast beside bagels.

Coffee and pastries for breakfast was simple but good and filling. Location is great walking distance to the mall and restaurants. However, the place is kind of old and maybe needs better lighting ,new linen and carpet and renovation.

The building itself is not particularly attractive. It’s functional, but nothing fancy. With that being said, They keep it clean and the staff is friendly and efficient, and it was fine. For a budget hotel, it’s what you would expect. At this price, it’s fine.

Staff friendly as always. Rooms are comfortable with refrigerator and microwave. But breakfast has become a disappointment! I was looking forward to my hot waffles which is not longer offered. Neither are the usual yogurts, and hard boiled eggs. What Happened?? Breakfast now consist of toast or bagels, drinks and maybe instant oatmeal!! How sad! Secondly, tv system/guide is very confusing. Channel selection difficult to figure out. Lastly, checkout was 12pm and now changed to 11am. I used to like staying at HOJOs before taking an afternoon flight out of LAX. Now we need to leave earlier.

I booked the hotel because the breakfast was included; but breakfast was only bread, butter, bagels and old-dry oranges; kind of disappointed. The carpet is old and dirty. All other cleanliness was fair.

No cleaning or trash removal during 4 night stay

The continental breakfast had nice choices, bagels, toast with various toppings , nutrigran bars, fresh fruit along with fresh coffee, teas of your choice & a juice machine (apple & orange)… the dining area clean. If you wanted to order food there was a way to do it, I didn’t pay much attention to the process of ordering food because I went out to eat lunch / dinner. The room was clean, bed nice & comfortable. The room was spacious enough. Closet has a safe inside along with an iron & ironing board. Hangers for your clothes. There is a nice vending machine with other snacks located outside of the dining area. Internet was easy to access and use, the password is given along with the cards used to unlock the door. The area felt safe , cameras are in view of the parking lot where cars are & other places to. I do wish more parking was available & the parking spaces were wider because some vehicles are HUGE.. I only spent 2 nights there but it was nice & I would definitely go back if ever in the area again.

Desk staff less than friendly. We checked in at midnight, and staff was not welcoming….gave us no information regarding the hotel, neither verbal nor printed. Two days later, we left towels and washcloths on floor expecting floor staff to replace. When they didn’t, we called the evening desk staff to ask for towels and washcloths. Quite curtly, she said: “Did you call for some???”. We told her we didn’t know we had to call. She then said that housekeeping takes care of that, and they wouldn’t be in until 9:00am the next day. That was it! Later we found a small faded notice at the bottom left of the bathroom mirror regarding linens being changed every 3 days unless guest requests them.

The young lady who checked me in was great and room was good. My major disappointment is the misleading info about breakfast. I chose this place because they included breakfast. So I wake up ready to have a nice meal. And to my disappointment all I saw were old looking oranges coffee machine and stale looking bagels. Very misleading. So don’t assume that you will have bacon and eggs.

There was not much of breakfast options. I wouldn't recommend if traveling with family and are looking for a hotel with breakfast options. Beds weren't very comfy Had to ask for soap to shower. Air conditioner didn't work right. And every time we turned on the AC everyone in the room got congested. But otherwise clean. Parking situation is tight.

What I didn’t like was the person who checked us in didn’t greet us at all 😒

Staff was excellent, very accommodating and helpful, especially with the late check in. The rooms were clean but are very very old and still smell of smoke. All rooms were located on the 2nd and 3rd floor so was very safe, the car was safe over night as well. Over all good stay, not $130 a night worthy but good for the family.

Hotel staff were professional. Limited dining options in house. Hotel is a very old building and rooms are old and outdated. Bathroom had broken tiles, elevator was not operational for at least one day. Room was clean and spacious.

Although is on a great location, the building needs some serious maintenance, starting with the elevator. Carpeting have noticeable stains on the hallway, Koby it’s on second floor, also next morning we saw a small roach walking on the wall by the headboard, ag that point we were ready to leave

The room smells fresh and clean, the linens are immaculate and the mattress/pillows are sooooooo comfortable! Convenient to some chain shopping—Starbucks, grocery store and Korean food court on Hawthorne side of intersection, two nail salons(mandatory!) —one 2 mins walk from HJ and the other diagonally in same center w grocery store. Very safe and parking is safe for overnight. Wiould stay there again. Great value.

I was quiet and clean, only thing that bothered me was on my last night stay the elevator went out and I had to carry all of my things down the stairs, luckily the guy that was at the counter helped me carry my things down.

This hotel shows it signs of age. The, “continental breakfast,” barely has any food choices. Although the advertisement showed a pool, the only pool around is the nice view into the adjacent hotel, which does have one.

Friendly staff and Quiet

This is a reasonably priced hotel, very close to a hospital that I needed to be near as my daughter was delivering a baby. There are a lot of amenities nearby, and the fact that there is parking on site is a real plus. The staff was for the most part friendly and helpful. However, it really is just a hotel to sleep at. Meaning that you will only get a bed and a bathroom and a TV. My room did not have soap in the shower area, even though it had shampoo dispenser attached to the wall of the shower stall. I had to get out of the shower and go into the outer room with the sink and put some liquid soap into a cup and take it back into the shower with me. When I asked the staff about it as I checked out, they told me that bar soap for the shower was “on request“ I was kind of shocked as I’ve never heard of that before, having to ask for bar soap to use in the shower! I can’t complain about how close this hotel is to the freeway and many restaurants and of course the beaches and the hospital. And for the price it served my purposes for this trip. But I did get the feeling overall that it’s a little bit rundown. For example, they have an ice machine on the level that my room was, but they had no ice buckets or bags to put the ice in in my room! I think a lot of little things fall through the cracks.

My room had a horrible mildew smell. When I mentioned it to the front desk I was told that no one was available to check it out. I ended up purchasing a incense cone holder and sccented cones to burn in the room. In addition. I sprayed an entire can of Lysol. Lastly, there were no USB charging plugs. I had to purchase plugs to charge my phone and ipod. The hotel needs to be remodel.

Had to ask for towels every day of my stay, exteneded my stay 1 extra day and still needed to ask for toiletries and clean linen.

hallways carpet was wet all the time. Breakfast could have been better The parking wasn't great , very tight. Very hard for large vehicle to park without closing someone else out of their car. Overall it was okay. They just need to upgrade a few things.

Check-in was easy and the staff was amazing. We had booked the wrong type of room for our stay and they helped make it right. They also gave us recommendations on activities the day that was walkable or close by. 5/5

The building is not as new as the picture. We would suggest it provides direction to the office located at the second floor. The room is roomy and comfortable. It would be nice if they offer a bigger tv. It offers simple breakfast, coffee and juice. The eating area is clean and roomy. When booking it, it says no onsite parking, which is misleading.

The hotel is not as new as the picture shows but the room is nice, clean and roomy. This is the first time I am seeing the office is located at the second floor and there is no sign that guides the customer to the office :-( it would be nice if they can provide a bigger tv and more power outlets.

A huge room with two queen beds, lots of livable/workable space. Nice roomy bathroom too. Good Wi-Fi so I could work remotely.

The desk staff is awful - rude, dismissive, obstinate - especially the young woman with the huge fake eyelashes that were falling off. She was very rude to everyone. The first room (205) I was assigned had a soaking wet rug and a fan blowing on it (to dry it). The desk staff (eyelashes) resisted moving me. The cleaning staff eventually convinced the desk staff that I should be assigned another room (206). Room 206 has peeling, mold falling off of the ceiling (over the bed). The shower faucet is broken, to the degree that adjusting temperature takes skill, determination, and patience. No soap was provided in the shower, only shampoo/conditioner mounted in a pump container on the wall. Everything considered, I still would have moved on without commenting, had it not been for “Eyelashes” (front desk day staff) awful attitude and rudeness (mostly towards others) both ahead of me and behind me.

I paided though your app. for my whole stay. Yet they made me paid a 50.00 deposit. This was not said on the app. or when getting the reservation. The lady I dealt with in checking in was abrupt. They were not very helpful.

Liked free breakfast and it was close to the festival venue at Torrance Cultural Arts Center that we attended.

Staff rude, room dirty, carpet was wet, room smelled of mildew. Told staff lady and she was too busy on her phone, never offered to switch rooms. Stayed one night and checked out next day to find a new hotel for the rest of my vacation. Don’t recommend, look elsewhere.
