Breakfast was over $80.00. The hotel itself was ok. Nothing special. Just seemed like simple things could of been upgraded
- 3/5
The property was ok. The walking distance to monuments was fine. Not a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Very small pool with no hot tub. The bistro is not open during most of the day. We paid for breakfast during our stay and selection was very limited. Over all this is a 3 star hotel.

We’ve stayed here MANY times! Every time we visit my sone at GWU we stay here. We love the location and how clean it is! I didn’t like that my TV didn’t work the rocket night. We checked in late cuz our drive from NY ended up over 6 hours. We went right to dinner. When we came home we “turned on” the TV, o my it didn’t work. It just ready “Loading” and never loaded. They offered to moved us but after a 6 hour plus drive at 11:30 I’m not up to move! So, I brought this to their attention and the best they could do was points on my Bonvoy account which is BS. It’s over $300 a night. I have expect to be able to watch TV and relax at night, but instead we watched a movie on our iPhones ? To boot, the woman at the front desk developed an attitude towards me! Like really? You’re doing to take this personally?!? GTFOH! Sorry but I stay here regularly with my daughter and we are respectful and clean. I expect the same back but sadly this time I did not, at least not from this Ken woman. Sadly she ruined my stay. I LOVED this hotel too, but time to find something else!

The front desk girl Markesha was very helpful and valet employees very helpful. The Bistro ladies were not very friendly and I paid for breakfast with my lodging and we had very selective food that was not very good. Also, the valet workers were helpful and nice but I did not like having valet parking or paying the high expense for parking. Pool was very small and not warm.

Only problem was the air conditioning. Because of the weather getting warm it didn't work so great. They did give us a fan. The last night it worked.

Staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Foggy Bottom from Friday 1/22 through Saturday 1/24/2026, we were informed upon arrival that there would be no water from 10 AM to 2 PM, Friday through Sunday, due to maintenance. This was never communicated to us in advance, nor were we given the option to cancel or choose another hotel. On top of that, there was no hot water on Friday evening and Saturday morning. When we asked about it, the staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unapologetic, repeatedly telling us that none of the guests had hot water—as if that somehow made the situation acceptable. It is unacceptable for a hotel charging nearly $450 for a two‑night stay to provide no hot water and limited water access, and then treat guests as though this is normal. The issue is not only the water outage itself, but the lack of communication and the unprofessional attitude of the staff.
- 5/5
Very nice room and the hotel staff was very nice. Within good distance to museums and restaurants/cafes
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff was friendly. The lady in charge of the restaurant and bar was fabulous

Paid Travelocity up-charge for Parking. On checkout was charged again by hotel, for parking plus taxes (49+9). Location isn’t awful, a bit far but mostly downhill. View from room was the roof and side of next building. Bed and pillows were TERRIBLE; beyond UNCOMFORTABLE

Nice hotel, easy walk to white house. Lots of options for transportation. There were lime scooters, bicycles and other bicycle rentals readly available. Poor noise insulation from the room next door. I could hear people talking clearly and when they opened their door it sounded like they coming into our room.
- 5/5
Good service Convenient location Walkable
- 4/5
The location was excellent across from the Whitehouse Lawn, and within walking distance of nice restaurants.

Check in was quick and easy. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious! Walking distance to all the sights. Highly recommend. Would stay again when in DC.

- 5/5
Very nice stay, breakfast is pricey… but it’s DC

Wonderful stay. Very quiet and clean. Great bed. Easy walk to the Lincoln Memorial. Short walk to the metro. Starbucks in the lobby or around the corner. Short walk to Circa for dinner- great food.

Was excited about the stay here. It was a decent property, location ok, but i paid a little extra for the balcony with "city view" only to get to see the opposite exterior wall of the hotel directly in front of us, which was the majority of the view. And I know hotel room fridges are small, I have stayed in several hotels and am familiar. But this was ridiculous. To keep a 6 pck and try to get one out was like playing jenga everytime you opened the door. They all fell out. Take a lunch cooler, its probably bigger. Being sofa beds are typically uncomfortable we chose to just sleep on the couch and not even bother to pull the sofa bed out. Plus the room is so incredibly tiny that if the bed was pulled out, there would be standing room only. I sent my son to the front desk to get a sheet and a pillow to use on couch, to sleep. They sent up a pillow but told him there were sheets under the sofa bed. This was almost midnight, we were already about to sleep, not about to rearrange the room so that there was space to pull out the sofa bed to get a sheet so that we could just sleep on the couch. Just give us a sheet, that would have been great. And, even though it says there is limited onsite parking, apparently there is not. I called on our way there to inquire more about the limited onsite and she said that is not offered. Finally, onsite bar and restaurant disappointing. Usually you're on vacation and may want to eat past 10. Closes up pretty early.
- 4/5
Complimentary morning coffee and a piece of fruit would have been nice.
- 5/5
Very clean and quaint. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Great location and staff was excellent. Clean too
- 4/5
Really appreciated the great value for the location that we got by staying at your location so hard to say anything negative. We stayed in a King with a pull-out couch. While the pull out couch was used for our 10 year old son, with 2 adults and 1 child, and three medium sized luggage, it was VERY TIGHT. But, luckily we didn't stay much in the room other than to shower and sleep :)
- 5/5
It was great, clean, bright, and staff were superbly professional. Thank you. T
- 5/5
Had a great time and the staff was friendly especially the woman in the restaurant!
- 4/5
Hotel was nice, convenient, extremely $$$ because of Inauguration. Biggest complaint was lack of water pressure and no hot water. Manager was nice to credit some points but for over $1000 a night just expected a bit more.
- 4/5
Many guests were present for the Inauguration of the 47th President, and while half the staff was pleasant and professional, the other half displayed behavior that was entirely unacceptable. It’s disappointing to see personal beliefs overshadowing the duty to provide respectful service to paying customers. Every interaction felt unnecessarily difficult, as if kindness and cooperation were intentionally withheld. Corporate should seriously consider improving training to ensure political neutrality when dealing with guests. Aside from the poor service, the facility itself was adequate.
- 5/5
The room was very comfortable, nice size, quiet floor. The bed was comfy and the pillows were very good. The room had a fridge, but no microwave, which would have helped. Otherwise I was very satisfied and would stay again. Bathroom was large, great shower and plentiful hot water. restaurant food was good, if not a large selection.
- 5/5
The best place
- 5/5
Enjoy the stay very much. It was close to all the attractions!

- 5/5
We were in Foggy Bottom for two days/one evening. It was clean and safe. The staff was helpful and inviting. I really had a great time, as did my children. It’s a bit of a walk to the Mall/museums, but we are used to it. Parking was valet but I felt so fortunate that it could accommodate my vehicle. Often I can’t find a parking garage that fits its height of 6’9”.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect, the staff were very accommodating and the room was vey clean. I will definitely recommend it to our friends and would definitely consider it when we come back.

- 5/5
The design layout of the restroom was erasure. very convenient. I liked the half wall separating the sink from the toilet area. It provided an extra place to put your clothing. The shower and sink faucet were easily accessible and water at the right temp

- 5/5
Enjoyed the quiet and relaxing environment at both the Hotel and its surrounding neighborhood.
- 2/5
Toilet broken, had to change rooms. Paper cups in room, no drinking glasses, tiny soap, pay for bottled water, no shower cap, very sparse. Prefer Marriott Residence Inn where you get good breakfast included.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. We will be back.
- 5/5
Super easy to stay at and close to my dorm
- 5/5
Freshly renovated.
- 5/5
So close to GWU that it’s impossible to imagine staying anywhere else. The Bistro restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, both tasty with many options. The rooms were nice and in good condition. But what was really remarkable were the employees— Terrence and Dinora (I think that’s her name). They both went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. They more than made up for the hiccups (hotel guests smoking weed next door. It was awful but unavoidable) and they both deserve raises. We will definitely stay there next time we are in DC
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and nice staff. Very nice breakfast choices included with the room.
- 5/5
Very clean an easy to walk to the tourist sites
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Priced good for the area. The best part was it was easy walking distance to the mall. I like a hotel that has breakfast included, but none in this area do. Great location for a DC visit centered on the mall. Plenty of places to eat within a 10 or 15 minute walk.
- 4/5
Great hotel very convenient to everything.
- 5/5
Short walk to many of the memorials.
- 3/5
This location needs to have more clear details about parking and its prices, it was very inconvenient and unfortunately it made the trip stressful trying to figure the parking out.
- 5/5
Clean. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable
- 5/5
Only 4 blocks from the White House, small food court down the street, 2 blocks from Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Memorial Staff very helpful and friendly
- 5/5
Two Garbage bags of towels and linens were in the hallway when we came home to the room after 8pm. This surprised us since the hotel was very clean. Almost like housekeeping forgot to pick them up. Didn’t really concern us. We were still very happy with our stay.
- 5/5
Great location, very clean and modern room, everything worked well. The view was of a brick wall from my 9th floor (top floor) room, but this is a city, so no surprise. Good value for price. High-quality and creative in-hotel dining available for breakfast and dinner, with plenty of seating and patio option. Compact lobby, decent pool and large fitness room in basement, along with guest laundry and garage. Overall, great value for the price, and outstanding location in central Washington, DC.
- 5/5
Very nice room
- 5/5
The hotel was nice and clean. It was also rather close to the National Mall - use bikes or scooters if you’d like to tour the city without Uber. Housekeeping came every day to tidy up and the hotel staff was nice.
- 3/5
Location: great. Front staff: lovely and helpful. Room: INCREDIBLY dark. No decent lighting to brighten up room. Dining: grabbed a burger one night--awful. Overcooked and dry. Tasted like a frozen patty done in microwave. Sweet bartender, though!
- 3/5
The bistro on site had a very limited menu. Also, the Internet service was not great and there wasn’t a WiFi option that was secured. Thankful to the housekeeping services since they had very limited staff.
- 5/5
The hotel staff was amazing! They were always present and available to answer any questions we had. The location was a plus also.
- 5/5
Very nice property.
- 4/5
Great location by gwu
- 5/5
Very clean and well kept. Easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see!
- 5/5
Traveled with my husband and 2 kids. The staff was very friendly. Our room was ready upon arrival even though we were very early. The room was spacious and clean. The safe didn't work and there was no fan in the bathroom but it was a short stay so it was fine. The area was in a great location to all the sites. Definitely worth staying here for the location alone. There is a bar and an outdoor area that were very nice as well. Great hotel in Washington. I would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
I live in southern Maryland. My sister was scheduled to have minor surgery - at 5:00 a.m. - at the hospital, three blocks away from the hotel. That said, I had no intention of leaving southern Maryland at 4 something in the a.m., so decided to make a reservation in the immediate area of the hospital. VERY beautiful interior: lobby, rooms (I want to remodel my bathroom like theirs; very nice), and the dining area. The front-desk personnel (ladies) were very groomed/attractive and professional. Although the hotel is located in the heart of downtown, it's on a street that every-so slightly out-of-the-way and blends in with the other high buildings (apartments, office buildings, etc.), but safe and clean. I definitely recommend (and I still want that bathroom design - lol)!!!
- 5/5
We loved staying it this hotel, convenient location close to white house and other attractions. The place was very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were super comfortable and valet parking was a big plus. I will keep this place on my list for the future trips.
- 5/5
The front desk personnel were excellent all of them
- 5/5
Really enjoyed our stay, close to metro was also a great benefit!
- 4/5
Easy walking distance to the historic sites.
- 5/5
Great location, very clean and quiet.
- 4/5
Hotel was in good condition and in a great location. We partially booked for a pool which was tiny and did not look well maintained. Also upgraded for a balcony which was in the interior of the building so no view. Staff seemed very short but everybody there was very polite and helpful.
- 5/5
Check in was fast and easy. The valet was very nice and took good care of my vehicle. Great location!
- 5/5
Friendly staff!
- 1/5
Hotels.com to complain. After about a hour the front desk person showed up with pillows and rolled her eyes at me… Nothing was done by hotel to make our stay right until after I sent an email to Marriott CEO! Then suddenly they started to treat us better, giving a gift basket to our son for the lack of pool. Hotel is under construction in lobby, pool and workout facility. I couldn’t find pool closure anywhere on web, which was a shame because it was the entire reason we picked this particular property. I even asked if they had an alternative which was met with a resounding no. Marriott customer liaison had me in tears just being super unhelpful. It’s like he was mad I wrote email to ceo. The hotel tried to make things better but for me it was too little too late.
- 4/5
Although this hotel was under Reno’s when we were there the spaces we did access were very nice and clean. The bistro has delicious food, the valet parking was fast and easy, room attendants were great and the front desk staff was very helpful. We were compensated with a lower nightly rate as the pool temp was delayed and we didn’t have access to it. The Starbucks around the corner was very convenient and we were able to walk to the White House and the Mall pretty easily. I would stay here again without hesitation.
- 2/5
I was dissatisfied with our stay. While we were aware of the ongoing construction in the lobby, we were not prepared for the unsafe conditions upon entering and existing the lobby. There were loose tiles on the floor of the makeshift walking path. The wet mopping in front of the elevator doors with no where else to step was unacceptable. The lack of any food and or drink was very inconvenient. The bathroom sink did not drain. ( I notified the front desk). Great location, as I will be traveling to this area several times a year for the next three years, but not certain I will spend my money with Courtyard by Marriott.
- 2/5
The lobby and dining area was under construction and the hotel did not provide room service. The fitness room had no equipment. The pool was supposed to be heated but felt cool. The room did not have complimentary items like toothpaste. And the bath tub and carpet appeared unclean.
- 5/5
Terrance was a wonderful employee who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.
- 1/5
It was terrible. There was very loud disruptive construction and they didnt tell me there would be construction until the day before I arrived, therefore it was too late to change hotels.
- 5/5
Our room was clean and spacious.
- 5/5
Front desk always very helpful
- 4/5
Hotel is undergoing renovations on some floors. Quiet during sleeping hours. Rooms and bathroom were new and comfortable. The bistro restaurant offered generous portions, but was a little expensive. Parking is valet only and there is only one person retrieving/parking cars. Leads to congestion and long wait times.
- 5/5
I like that it was easy walking distance to all the monuments. The room was nice and it was a nice hotel. The staff was nice also. I would highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Excelente
- 2/5
Do NOT pay extra for the executive suite with balcony. The room is TINY, the balcony is basically a shadowy alcove with a small space you might be able to sit at with another person as long as one of you teleports in or recedes into the dark corner. No outdoor lighting so it’s not enjoyable. No view. Shows a non existent coffee bar in the pic. Pull out sofa bed is maybe 5 feet long. Literally one of the smallest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Restaurant downstairs is pitiful. Parking is triple nearby garages. It’s clean. It’s safe. But that “upgrade” is a joke.
- 3/5
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room size was decent, and the location was convenient. The staff was polite. However, there were significant drawbacks. The sofas in the room were not clean, and their colors had faded, which gave an overall shabby appearance. The bar was frequently closed, and the dimly lit lobby space with minimal staff was uninviting. Additionally, the limited breakfast hours ending at 9:30 am were inconvenient. Overall, my stay was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Great location! However we seemed to have gotten the room with the worst view. Our view was a six story apartment building. I felt like I was in my own personal “Rear Window”. It became very claustrophobic. Staff could have been a bit more friendly.
- 5/5
Very convenient for Smithsonian and National Mall
