Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center

I booked multiple rooms to host out-of-town guests for the weekend. What followed was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I've had in years of global travel as a Marriott Lifetime Gold Elite member. Three significant failures: 1. Repeated key card failures - Guest room keys stopped working multiple times throughout the stay, leaving guests stranded outside their rooms for over an hour each time awaiting resolution. The most egregious instance: I had to personally drive to the hotel at 3am during a storm to physically let a guest into a room I had pre-paid and pre-authorized them on - because the front desk could not resolve it remotely. 2. Check-in delays - The check-in process was slow and disorganized, creating a poor first impression for my guests who had traveled specifically for this occasion. 3. Unclean room at arrival — After an extended wait to check in, one guest walked into their room to find leftover food from the previous occupant still present. Basic housekeeping standards were not met. When I raised issues with the front desk, I received no accountability, no apology, and no resolution just like a used car salesman. I have stayed at Marriott properties across the world and have never encountered this level of service failure. This property fell significantly short of the Marriott brand standard and more importantly, it let down guests I was personally responsible for hosting.

Hosted guests by booking several rooms. Every room had issues with key cards not working!!! The staff couldn’t get a resolution

Easy check , took less than 5 minutes roughly. Parking was easy. The staff was pleasant, great communication. The room was overall nice. The clerk could’ve been a little cleaner but overall 8/10.

As a 75 year old traveling alone, safety is foremost. MARRIOTT would charge me $22 to park my car for one night in a dark, deserted parking garage. Garage wasn't ideal by any means, but having to park 2 blocks away in the dark was poor customer service and not a place for seniors. I was amazed at the lack of responsibility for guests.

Massive room and bed, hotel is in a great area that has an outdoor mall right across the street so you can walk for a good meal if needed

In addition Hotel was having a conference meeting with many kids around the hotel, elevators and aisles without any parent, hotel looks very dirty because of the amount of people and may not be enough people to maintain it clean. This is not one of Marriot that would recommend to stay.

I enjoyed staying and being close to the Harding events as well as restaurants and shopping. We were disappointed to have booked a room that stated it could go up to 4 people. We assumed there would be a pull out bed or cot available. My grown son had to sleep on the floor. Now we know. Other than that the stay was wonderful and we enjoyed it very much. The staff was very friendly.

I really enjoyed the stay and the check in was very smooth and easy however the $20 dollar self service parking was a bit too much.

This was our first time staying in this hotel it was fantastic the room was large and spacious loved the shower in the veiw of the pool was great we aet breakfast and the restaurant the service was great we loved our stay

In short, for how expensive this stay was, we were shocked that there wasn't continental breakfast included in the price. The coffee was expensive in the lobby, as was the restaurants on site. Then having to pay $20 a day for parking. Just all of this to nickel and dime your guests. We won't be staying here again.

I didn't like that you had to pay for coffee, there was no free parking, you couldn't sit by the pool to drink coffee in the morning before 10 while it was nice and shady.

Walking distance to shops and dining

This property was clean and kept up very well by the staff! everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeepers, to the bar staff were friendly and courteous! I would definitely book at this facility the next time I’m visiting the Dallas area!

Coffee should be cheap or free. Coffee is cheaply made and you sell it for $4.01 a cup. Understandable at a boutique but at a hotel, it should be free. An amenity

Tge tv didn’t work and all they could do for us is move us to a different room. It was 11:00 pm. We didn't want to switch rooms that late.

I came for business and chose your hotel because the convention was being held there. I was a Vendor with my business. The room I was In 201 so hot all the time and very miserable at night. It was so hot you could not sleep at all. It supposed to be a comfortable level to stay cool and rest well. The bed was so hard it was unable to sleep on too. Asked to be moved and told no rooms due to the convention. I charged 20.00 and tax a day for parking, when it was not a garage across the street . It was an attached garage and no where else around the hotel to park at all, but we’re still charges. That horrible in my opinion when it’s attached to your hotel. The fees that were charged seemed very gouging. 4 days at your hotel for what we got and the room were in at 1000.00 is crazy. It’s definitely. Not worth what I paid. We left today exhausted due to no rest sweating all night everyday. And was reported to Heather at the front desk. I was going to address this issue with Marriott anyway, I feel this stay should be comped immediately! Your quick response on this matter back to me is appreciated. Thank You Judy

This hotel was in a great location and we’ll stay again when in town.

Needed a handicapped accessible room; did not get that. I called the hotel they said to contact hotels.com. Did that and said I needed a handicapped room, and I changed the reservation to handicapped but I was put on the 5th floor, all the way down the end of the hall, and I had difficulty getting off the toilet and was not able to shower. Then three separate times I had to clean the piles of dust that came out of the vent. My only option was to move to a different room at 10:00 at night. I was using crutches and rely on my son for help, so I adjusted the ac to not turn on as often. At check in I was told that I would have to pay for parking and there was a $50 hold. I was not informed of this prior. For $250 for one night, I expected more.

The Marriott Dallas/Allen Convention Center hotelbwas amazing! It was so convenient to just go downstairs to our event instead of having to get in a car and fight traffic & parking.

It was a short stay, the rooms was nice and the hotel was clean.

Terrible in everything

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel overall. The staff was friendly & hotel was nice & clean. The hotel bar & grill was top notch. The bartender knows his drinks. However, the beds are NOT comfortable & will keep us from staying here again.

Wet safe and clean property.

We were there for a taekwondo tournament to watch our grandchildren. Super convenient to the convention center. It’s nice that there are several restaurants right across the road. The restaurant on the premises has live music on Friday nights which we did not want to hear loud music. The attached parking ramp was very convenient. Overall a pleasant stay.

Caroline at the front desk was the epitome of excellent customer service, professionalism and friendliness. Kevin at the Canyon (?) bar went above and beyond with service and made me feel comfortable as an older woman coming into a bar alone. This was on Christmas day with a full house and crowded lobby. Its the best hotel experience I have had in many years. I highly recommend this establishment!

We arrived late night, and were told they couldn’t accommodate the room type we booked due to other guests checking in early! After about 5-10 minutes of explaining them that it may not work for us, the front desk asked us to wait for a few minutes so they can get our room ready. Took them 15-20 minutes and finally we were in. Glad they were able to help. Room was clean and well kept. Hotel is located in a convenient location and hotel staff is very friendly. Has a good breakfast buffet. The adult buffet price was comparable to any other place, but for kids it was very very fairly priced considering how much kids eat :-). The cleaning staff did a good job throughout the stay. We didn’t get to use all the facilities in our 2 night stay, but our overall stay was good.

We had a wonderful stay. We were in town for a Volleyball Tournament and the location was perfect. The rooms are large and was easily accessible from the garage. It was perfect since I was traveling with 2 little kids. All of the employees were extremely nice. They even had live music in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Yet, the parking is terrible!!! The only place to park is in the garage, which they say the up close spots are "RESERVED" for hotel guest, to the cost of $18 a night. Your only option of parking is in the garage, which The City of Allen owns, and that fee is non-negotiable! The hotel was empty as was the garage, there was Not a convention going on and there is nowhere else to park; therefore, you Must pay $18 a night if you have a car! For this reason alone we will not ever stay here again!

Pillows were so amazing I ordered 4 immediately! Asked for a King and got a queen but it was ok cause they took into account we had dogs and placed us closer to the end close to the exit doors and not in the middle. I understand there is a pet fee but it is significant. Loved the location, ease of checking in, tv was full of options- able to watch our own streaming, clean and spotless bathroom with soft towels.

My children and I recently stayed at the hotel and I forgot my jewelry on the shelf in the bathroom. I realized I had left it later on in the afternoon and called the hotel. They said they could not look for it and I would have to file a report. I filed the report immediately and 2 days later received a generic reply that they would look for the jewelry and if not found in 14 days, the case would be closed. I have contacted the hotel twice and was told they would call me back but have not received a call. I am filing a police report so hopefully my jewelry will be returned.

It was a great experience for a hotel. The receptionist was the very best. She made sure I understood everything well and she also kept a nice smile. The room was very clean and comfortable. My family really enjoyed their stay.
