Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Lombard Oak Brook

Equally disappointing was the front desk experience. The staff came across as indifferent and unwelcoming, giving the impression that guest satisfaction was not a priority. This hotel was once a regular destination for us, and we had many positive stays here over the years. However, having not visited in approximately six years, it was evident that little to no meaningful investment or upkeep has been made during that time. The decline in the property's condition was both noticeable and disappointing. Unfortunately, based on our recent experience, we will not return nor can I recommend this hotel in its current state.

The room didn’t feel clean. The shower drain was clogged so the water just pooled. One of the 3 sinks randomly bubbled up and spit out black dirty water. The pipe that was exposed in the bedroom was leaking sewer water. The elevator buttons didn’t work. Overall this hotel is just run down but the staff was very friendly and sympathetic to the issues I was experiencing

I was very happy with just about everything at the embassy suites. My room was large, comfortable clean. It had everything I needed. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely amazing. It had delicious food all fresh cooked. I would definitely stop here again

The maid service made our bed, emptied the wastebaskets, and took our used towels, but they didn't give us new towels, nor did they take away the wine glasses from the previous night's gratis bar. They didn't give us any more toilet paper either. The desk chair can't be raised to a level that lets you work at the desk. While it's a very comfortable hotel, it's showing its age.

The breakfasts was good and i liked the two free adult beverages that was offered from 5:30pm-7:30pm My room was on the 4th floor and it was a bad smell like something had died but the smell was only on the my floor I asked to be moved and staff couldn’t accommodate me. the furniture was kinda outdated, the couch had a stain on it and their was ants in my room I brought all of this to staff attention and nothing was done

They really helped our stay more comfortable!!! The Chicago pictures on the wall were wonderful. Overall I really liked the interior of this hotel. The washer and dryer had the option of coin inserts. But actually you could use only the app. There has to be sign to indicate that coins aren’t available. The housekeeping ladies were very nice.

This property was absolutely amazing and accommodating. The breakfast and the afternoon refreshments were great. It happened to be tons of kids in the facility so it was a little hard to enjoy the pool but the overall experience was good.

The staff were professional, friendly and helpful which was a great representation of Joseph the GM. I would not hesitate to recommend Embassy Suites to my family, or friends. I arrived and was greeted with a smile in a genuine welcoming manner by Needi who took time to accommodate our needs. I also had a wonderful interaction with Vicky who was kind enough to answer my questions. The property was clean, and well maintained. The accommodations were great! We really enjoyed the room, and the love and care that housekeeping that took care of the room did to get us in quickly. One thing that I noticed was that each of the staff members who I came in contact with were friendly, and greeted us with a smile while making eye contact. The staff was enthusiastic, and I had the pleasure of the 3 ladies that made breakfast a success! It was not your average breakfast that you get from other facilities. The omelettes were PERFECT! The associate was engaging, and quickly and efficiently managed her busy line making sure to accommodate all guests, and to ensure everyone enjoyed their omelette. There was another staff member who managed the hot foods. She was eloquent, and very attentive. If she thought you needed something it was addressed in a personalized manner. Another staff member named Arnetta was phenomenal! She made sure everyone had a memorable experience. This is a great place for business travel, or wedding parties.

Close to restaurants

We had a fantastic time, what I really like was the Showerhead, OMG so exhilarating. Now I must say updates are needed as far as the decor goes but our overall experience was wonderful. We especially like the evening socials.

The air in my room wasn’t working. Maintenance came up to fix it and told me to give it 20mins and the air should be good. I gave it 1 hour and the room was still hot. I called the front desk back she said she would ask the maintenance man if he can do anything else if not she could offer me a fan. We ended up getting the fan. Other then that everything else was good.

Phenomenal experience, the hotel is very family friendly with free breakfast, the gym, pool and baby cribs upon request. It’s also located in a good spot so parking isn’t expensive compared to Chicago. The value was higher than the price for sure

From check in to check out, everything was smooth and pleasant. The suite layout was very practical and comfortable. Right when you walk in, there is a small living room area with a sofa, coffee table, and work table. There were plenty of power outlets beside the table, which made it easy for me to charge all my devices and comfortably work on my laptop. The room was very clean and practical. The glass shower stall was spotless, and the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in good sized bottles mounted on the wall, which was very convenient. What impressed me most was the vanity and mirrors setup. There was a sink and mirror inside the bathroom, another set at the wet bar, and another set facing the bed. Even for just two people, it made getting ready so much easier and more comfortable. The room also had iron and iron board, microwave, refrigerator, and safe. The bed was comfortable and clean, and overall the hotel offered excellent value for the price. The location was also very convenient. Nearby there is both a Target and Walg

It was a wonderful vacation stay and we had a really good time- the breakfast was delicious, the staff was helpful and complimentary evening reception drink with snacks was refreshing.

The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. The weekend we went there was a lot of kids at the hotel. They were running around and screaming uncontrollably which was a bit frustrating. The housecleaner cleaned our room but left dirty glasses and didn't restock the coffee area. The walls of the shower were slimy and didn't drain very well. We didn't go to the breakfast so I can't talk about that. It was very convenient that they had a cute little "market" for our late night snacks. I think they should spray for mosquitoes around the property! Don't get me wrong, over all the hotel is pretty and nicely located to everything. Would we go back again, yes.

There were many broken things in our room when we got there. Music was played too early in the morning. And there weee screaming kids running all around when we got there. The pool was dumpy and not clean.

The Front Desk attendant Victoria gave great Customer service. She was able to move from a 1 night stay room because we came in early into our 3 night stay without having to wait until 4 pm. Awesome Thank you, Victoria.

Breakfast was great- many selections to choose from. Only negative is I took my 2 granddaughters to the pool and I counted 65 kids in the pool. Never was able to use the pool during my stay which was a major decision in my choosing your hotel.

We have stayed here several times and when we need to be in this area of Illinois we will choose to stay here every time. The rooms are super great as they come with two living spaces which even when there are only 4 of you definitely makes it a lot better as everyone has their space. The breakfast is one of the best especially with the cook to order omelets, soda fountain machine, and all the other breakfast options available. The fitness room could definitely use some upgrading or fixing of their treadmills as only 1 of the 3 were working. The pool could also actually be heated as it is pretty cold but the hot tub was excellent. They also have light snacks and two free drinks per adult every evening at the bar. The only thing that would be nice is if parking were a little less but I understand the price.

The radiator was falling off the wall, the doorway was open 2 inches clearly to view outside the room. The bathroom light around the mirror only worked a quarter around the mirror.

Room was outdated, very worn, and dirty. The ceiling in the shower stall was cracked and exposed. Pool was overcrowded and took 20+ minutes to get new towels.

The people in the room next to me were out of control, leaving children unattended to raise hell. I had to call front desk and they sent security. Since no parents where there, mind you it's almost midnight, the security had to bang on the door like crazy to try and get children to answer the door. Parents were found outside smoking with no care for small children. The noise and banging were out of control, got little to no sleep. The bathroom had long black hairs on the floor which was disgusting. The age of building shows, and the cliental were disgusting and loud and obnoxious. Staff did their best with the noise sending security but won't stay there again. The Embassy suites have gone down hill and this was my 2nd time trying this location, there will not be a third.

Embassy is a safe choice when traveling. Clean and dependable

We love Embassy Suites, but this one was our least favorite so far. The bed was painfully hard/low quality, the breakfast food was sub-par, the welcome reception was sloooow (only had one guy making drinks and they ran out of most snacks without refilling), the hot tub was lukewarm, and the pool was dirty (couldn't see the bottom) and filled with waaaaaaay too many kids (which is not in their control, but someone told me it was like that all the time). Not as relaxing as we had hoped.

The breakfast was inedible, the pool was absolutely disgusting, the hot tub wasn't even remotely hot and it felt as if bleach was poured into it, plus tile breaking off all around it. Our room wasn't clean- and it was incredibly loud. I didn't sleep at all. Will absolutely not be back and would NOT recommend

Water leaked the room was hot and stuffy AC did not work. Bathroom door handle was broke which we could not use the bathroom had to call for maintenance still did not get fixed. I was traveling with a 2 year old and 1 year old. The exposed hardware from the broken door was sharp and dangerous. The table leg fell off exposing screws. Coffee pot shut off when I was making coffee. It only made a quarter of a cup. 4 hours later it started again spewing hot coffee, again I'm traveling with 2 young children. The furniture (couch hideaway bed ) it was the worst hotel we have ever been to

The breakfast server Rosie was absolutely rude and informed me she was sick and trying not to throw up over the food she was serving. Everything was rushed the jacuzzi did not work , the pool was overcrowded it was absolutely one of the worst stays I’ve stayed in a hotel!

The facility was excellent. The staff was very courteous. We had an issue with the people next door. And they quickly up and moved us as they must’ve been smoking pot because I got into our room with kids in it. I didn’t follow up on the apps, but I hope something further was done. But aside from that everything was excellent, the food the service. I highly recommend this establishment.

Watched someone else’s kid pee in a chair next to the kitchen and when I told staff they said they would take care of it. Didn’t even ask me to show them what chair I was talking about. Watched for a while and never saw anyone come clean it. Hot tub was falling apart. Won’t be staying here again.

Check-in was easy, and quick. Room was clean. Whirlpool was closed.. it was fine until everyone got in their rooms. Kids were loud lots of thumping. Ceiling leaking in the main lobby. But other than that. All was good. Thanks for the stay!

By far the worst Embassy Suites I have been to. The reception in the evening was a line out to the lobby not set up like others I e been to. Breakfast was also nothing like others I’ve been to, paper pores only and limited menu items in a crowded space. Pool was very small and extreme chlorine couldn’t enjoy it. Was over crowded so I’m sure that’s why chlorine do high. I wouldn’t be on a hurry back

I missed breakfast twice during my stay because they closed it at different times.

I was impressed by the breakfast and breakfast staff. They were very pleasant and there was a good selection. The overall condition of the hotel, knowing that it is a older property needs a little help with cleanliness.

Needs work, rundown, doorhandle falling off in room, mirror frames damaged in room, needs a facelift. Enjoyed cocktail hour, front desk associates could be nicer. Pool rundown and packed, non-friendly faces. Not good channels and limited because they don’t have streaming to sign into. Breakfast was great. Overall, I would stay again at an embassy suites l-but not this one.

Check-in was disappointing. Despite mobile check-in, I still had to go to the front desk, where staff were efficient but not friendly. The parking pass system is inconvenient, requiring you to go back to place it in your car. The rooms are spacious with a nice layout, and the beds are comfortable. However, maintenance was lacking—our shower didn’t drain properly, the curtain was torn, and the TVs are outdated. Pillows were also unsupportive. The evening reception bartender was excellent and handled a busy crowd well, though he clearly needed help. The snack selection was minimal and not well maintained. Compared to the Embassy Suites in Naperville, this location fell short. The pool area was the biggest issue—it was dirty, cloudy, and in need of serious upkeep, with visible grime and missing tiles. Breakfast was underwhelming, with limited options and long omelette lines. Again, Naperville’s location does this much better. The Hilton app features weren’t very helpful, as the chat went unanswered. I also noticed I was double-charged for parking, and the front desk response when I called was curt and borderline rude. Overall, this stay didn’t feel worth the $150 per night. While I like Embassy Suites as a brand, this location fell well below expectations and I wouldn’t return.

My stay was not good the pool water looked so dirty the ladder in the pool was loose my shower head was loose and the knob that you turn the bathtub water on with was broken. It turned all the way around. The breakfast was good I wouldn’t stay there again having been there in years and I see why 10yrs ago was so much better

Breakfast and happy hour are great, but the room condition was subpar. Our room was consistently too hot throughout our three day stay. I repeatedly contacted the front desk for assistance, but was givens different responses each time. One time I was told that the AC was being repaired the next morning and would be fixed. Another staff person told me that there was no way to correct. It never was fixed. Water pressure was also very very low.

The first room I had carpet smelled terrible like it was moldy they put me in a different room and that room smelled like raw sewage. They wanted to accommodate me to a different room but I didn’t want to switch to another room for another disappointment so I slept in my car til the next morning

This is my usual go to place to stay but this stay was not good. The bottle of body wash provided was empty after the 1st day asked for it to be refilled and it was refilled my whole stay. Housekeeping left their spray bottles in the room. The gym equipment 1/3 treadmills worked, doesn’t look maintained.

Room was somewhat run down. Noticed on the last day that the sheets were stained. Lots of kids and teenagers running around the hotel after 10PM. A lot of guests were smoking pot in their rooms. My room started to smell like pot the last morning I was there.

This hotel is a disaster. Several children and teens were causing disturbances in the lobby/atrium until 1am. Doors slamming, yelling, riding office chairs down the ramps, etc. Hotel staff were not able to remedy the problem. This affected our sleep. The room also was outdated and dirty. No working charging ports in the bedroom, the bathroom door lock was broke, and the room in general was dirty. I will not return.

Very nice staff and a nicely stocked breakfast. Only complaint was the they close the atrium area at 10pm. My son wanted to sit down and call his girlfriend and they kicked him out. I can see them not wanting a rowdy party but a personal call seems silly.

No doubt the best part of the stay was the bartender Richard! I was in town for a funeral and we had a large group...Richard's service, sincerity and ability to connect with us all made an otherwise somber occassion much lighter. It is appreciated.

The hotel is beautiful even though it’s a bit worn. The staff is 5-star though. Totally professional yet personable people who actually go out of their way to be helpful. The hotel also has a fabulous breakfast and very generous sized rooms.

The hotel is only okay. Staff was friendly during our stay but the property is very dated with old TV (who still uses pay per play?), old gym equipment, no USB-C ports. The walls are extremely thin — we were pretty disturbed by our loud neighbor. Pool is really not in a good condition at all, murky water, stains near the pool area etc.

Negatives: Strict about 18 and younger in the hot tub, security made the pool less fun (no throwing balls, no floats, no jumping), elevators were in then out of service, which created long lines and wait times.

The issue was our handicap room. Walk-in shower was good but truly the shower water ran into the bathroom drain and water was everywhere and it was actually very dangerous for my handicapped relative. We had to dry the floor after each shower, the water actually even flowed out of the room. Very dangerous for slipping for everyone and the sliding barn doors kept opening leaving little privacy for those in the bathroom. Very, very odd setup for a handicap bathroom. Shower curtain was way too short for the shower. Very dangerous room (1028)

I checked it on Friday evening that Friday right before bed. I took a shower and found out that the tub was stopped up later on that night turned the heat up and it was just blowing out cool air so I called downstairs and asked for some blankets, they brought them up. The next day the heat didn’t get any better. I had to go downstairs three times to have my key card redone and at some point, it did not work at all so they offered me $25 gift card and to switch my room. I declined a gift card because it was a very much of an inconvenience for me and my family, which, by the way, my brother has a disability. After switching me to another room, the bathroom sink stopper was plunged down in the sink and I couldn’t use the sink. They finally came up that night after calling a second time about it not only that the kids are running up and down a darn hallways up until almost 1030 last night until I went downstairs and complaint to the staff, she immediately called security and the noise almost instantly stopped. I had to use the laundry facility there come to find out the washer was fine. Put the clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer in the dryer did not even dry the clothes I had to put them in the other dryer and spend another $3.25 so that cost me $9.75 to wash a few clothes. I have never been so disappointed at establishment before like this, but I promise you I will never patronize you guys ever again. Awaiting a call from management

Just stayed one night. Embassy suites is one of our favorites to book. Consistent. Love the breakfast offering. Great spaces to spread out into the room. Only thing would change is shower pressure feels like it’s on 1,000 some may like but almost hurt in sensitive areas. Would book here again.

The front desk staff are not very friendly - one woman was extremely rude to an elderly couple ahead of me. I was so uncomfortable watching the elderly woman struggle to get questions answered, and the cold way in which she was treated - as if she was bothering the worker. Please improve customer service! Additionally, the pool was dirty with stuff floating in it - needs a thorough cleaning. I gave 4 stars because the location is great - and the rooms are spacious.

Staff was very friendly, and I appreciated that my room was cleaned and restocked with fresh towels. I really enjoyed the custom omelet bar and the fitness center. It was disappointing that the treadmills didn't work on one day and the staff had to wait for maintenance to come in for the day before being able to fix. Since they all went out at the same time it seems like a fuse had blown and they could have flipped a switch or pushed a button to fix. I found another option for cardio, but did see several people walk out.

I didn’t know about parking fees until check-in. The shower had hair in it, there is a gap between the door (entrance to room) and the floor, and the fitness room needs cleaned. In the two days of my stay I didnt see anyone in the pool or hot tub, then I looked at reviews and maybe that's why.

I asked for an early check in, but the front desk told me I had to wait an hour or so. So I was fine waiting but right after me, there were three men who also wanted an early check in and they were given rooms. They were even staying at different rooms, so they were given three separate rooms. I did not complain at that moment because I didn’t want to make a big deal, but during my check in time, I was not given a water bottle when I clearly saw other people getting complementary water from the front desk. I had to ask for one because I saw the woman in front of me getting one, especially a new, cold one from the fridge in a paper bag. But when I asked for one, the front desk gave me the one that was sitting outside the whole time (the one that the staff was going to given the woman in front of me but then put it back on the table and gave her a new one) and even without a bag. From the start to finish of my stay, I didn’t feel like I was respected.

Our rooms were quiet and we slept well. Unfortunately, while we were there (early August 2025), the pool was extremely overused. It was packed all day long. It was loud and there was not much room to move or swim without running into anyone or getting hit in the head by a nerf ball (true story!) The water was green from the overuse. There was a slight smell of old seafood in the air of the atrium. Thankfully, that smell did not enter into our rooms which were clean and smelled fine. At times there was a strong smell of marijuana in the entry way and the elevators, Thankfully, the smell never reached the breakfast area or our rooms.

Front desk staff very friendly. This did not feel like the embassy suites I know. Seems like the property needs some tlc but it was not a bad stay.

Everything was great except that there was only one elevator working, room was not very clean, blow dryer was very sticky and dirty, we had to ask for a different one, and the sink was not draining well, needs plumbing work.

As always...breakfast was good...room was comfortable...I really would recommend a dress code for breakfast...robes and pajamas don't cut it...better attire would be appreciated...it's really starting to get out of hand....

Only one elevator was working the entire time, which caused long wait times and even made me late to an important event. I spoke with other guests who said they had been told for several days that the elevator was being fixed, but there didn’t seem to be any progress. What made things worse was that the stairwell didn’t feel like a safe or clean alternative—it looked poorly maintained, which was concerning. If there were an emergency, I would’ve been hesitant to use it. I truly hope management can address these issues soon. I’d also appreciate it if a supervisor or property manager could reach out to me directly to discuss this experience and the possibility of some form of compensation. I really do enjoy staying here and would love to continue doing so once these concerns are resolved.

The pool area was not clean ans extremely over crowded at most times with very unruly kids, one parent over 10-20 kids at a time in a small pool to begin with. We booked adjoining rooms and upon checking in was informed the rooms were not adjoining and actually on opposite ends of the floor which then caused our parties to have to separate for most of the trip. On top of that, I called the day before check in to confirm we were adjoined and was told yes. Room was outdated and even wallpaper was torn in the seating area of the room and bathroom tub area was dirty.

Room was raggedy and it seems like any old piece of furniture or bedding was stuck in my room. The minute you walk into the room you smell moisture like you were in a basement. The hotel is outdated, poorly maintained, and frankly dirty. Our suites felt more like a run-down motel than a $200+/night Hilton-branded hotel. The lack of upkeep was only part of the problem — the overall atmosphere was unsafe and chaotic. On our third night, a fight broke out between guests, ending with someone being pepper sprayed (we have video). The following night, an argument in the room next door at 5am required security again. This is not what we expected while hosting family from India for a wedding — it was embarrassing and stressful. To make matters worse, the pool was filthy. When my sister brought her kids to swim, she found hair and debris floating throughout. She complained to the front desk, only to be told that the pool wouldn’t be cleaned until the following Monday. That kind of response shows zero concern for guests. To top it off, checkout was handled with the opposite level of rigidity. On the morning of our departure, I called at 10:30am to request a late checkout but was told it wasn’t possible. When I went down to the lobby, I saw Nancy and another manager going floor to floor, demanding that guests leave their rooms immediately — something I’ve never witnessed in any other hotel. We had a couple of environmental issues. One was a bad smell in room. Housekeeping came and sprayed, still had smell, so they were very helpful and moced us. The second room had refrigerator and safe issues. The engineer arrived and fixed both things

To the manager who runs this hotel: work on training your staff to go above and beyond for guests. I stay for the service, not the rooms. A simple, yes as it doesn't do any harm would have sufficed, yet can't keep customer's food in the freezer for what ever reason isn't correct, it is stupidity. Hope the staff realize that they are in the hospitality business sooner rather than later.

First time staying at this location. It was nice. The reception time with drinks was a plus.

The pool was extremely hazardous. My 3 year old daughter slipped and fell 3 times just trying to walk around because of how much water was on the floor. The room’s pull out couch was awful! It was slanted and honestly uncomfortable. The bathtub in our suite felt like there was water under the tub liner because when you stepped in it was “squishy”. The shower head leaked atrociously and only had one speed. (Jet speed). The fabric box spring section of the beds was all torn up. Then there was a wall corner bumper that was falling off. And having a young child in the room became a hazard. For what we paid. It sadly was not worth the price.

It was great time with kids and brought our dog with no problems.

I was not pleased with this last stay. It was ok, however, there were a few issues. I checked in online and by the time I had arrived, the room I chose had been given away. The room that I was reassigned to, had soiled sheets and a smell. I was then reassigned yet another room, this room was ok, however, it had water damage in the ceiling and a slight mildew smell. The parking that use to be free is now $12.50 a day and the guests are responsible for keeping up with a business card size card that is proof that you are a guest of the hotel, but the hotel does not take your license plate number, so god-forbid that this card falls off your dashboard unknowingly to you. The furniture is dated. Although it appears the bathrooms have been updated, in a room that is set to housed up to 4 people, there is not enough space for 4 people to place their used towels. The stay served it purpose, however, I was sadden to see how much this location has declined from what I am accustomed to see from the Embassy.

The rooms are run down and not clean. Front desk staff is incredibly rude and not helpful. So sad because it was not this way before. Other Embassy locations are much better, go elsewhere.

My only Con: The shower area we had informed the front desk the the shower head Rm.527 was leaking and spraying water about the walls and floor, they said they would send someone to look into it the problem never got attended to.. 2nd the face sink in the bedroom never had hot water.

I've stayed here a couple of times, the suites are large for a group of 6 to stay in. My group stayed there for the week/weekend of Lollapalooza and it was a wonderful time. We enjoyed every minute. The rooms were clean, it was easy to get more towels or toilet paper when needed, the staff were welcoming. Overall, my group and I had a great time!

Main lobby was nice and staff were very friendly and it was a good breakfast. But room was dated and in poor condition. Ottoman and sofa cushions were tattered and dirty. Furniture was broken in places. Tiles loose in the shower. Likely would not stay again.

Incorrect room given at check-in. Correct room did not have clean flooring/carpeting. The sofa bed had a stain on the mattress. Refrigerator was not cold. Property from previous renters were present (indicating inappropriate cleaning). When called for additional towels from the front desk, they were not delivered after i called a second time to the front desk the next morning.

The lobby and the entire hotel smelled horrible. The sofa sleeper in the living room was filthy. The shower soaked the entire floor. I would not recommend to anyone the rolm smelled bad as well.
